O CINE-CLUBE SOCIOAMBIENTAL CRISANTEMPO é um lugar dedicado a reflexão e difusão da consciência socioambiental.

 Sediado na SALA CRISANTEMPO, soma à sua tradição e nicho nas artes uma nova frente de ações propositivas que ampliam os espaços de discussão e o esclarecimento sobre mudanças de hábitos que se demonstram inadiáveis para a otimização da relação humana com os bens naturais do Planeta.

 Os filmes e documentários do Cineclube Socioambiental são muito interessantes e instigantes. E claro, por isso não são veiculados na Globo ou outro canal da TV aberta, muito menos em cinemas comuns! No dia 24 de junho, haverá uma palestra com André Soares, do IPEC. Pra quem assistiu ao DVD, ou esteve no BOOM FESTIVAL de 2006, pôde conferir e conhecer o trabalho maravilhoso do Instituto.

Ofcourse i forgot to inform you about a psytrance festival that goes on for 7 days in Portugal: BOOM FESTIVAL! It is one of the world’s largest psytrance events and it’s 100% eco-friendly and sustainable, they don’t even use chemicals in the toilets and do not leave any trace that could effect the environment. Last time it was held was August 2008 and you have the chance to participate in 2010, becuase it’s only held every two years.

Jag glömde såklart upplysa er om en psytrance festival som pågår i 7 dagar i Portugal, BOOM FESTIVAL. De är en av världens största psytrancefester som är 100% ekologisk, de använder inte ens några som helst kemikalier i toaletten och lämnar inga miljöavtryck i området där de har evenemanget. Senaste gångrn det hölls var i Augusti 2008, och nästa gång du har chansen att delta är 2010, det hålls nämnligen endast varannat år!

..Men jag förstår inte varför det hela tiden blåser så mycket just där vi är! Det är ju sommar nu!? Igen, Fortfarande, Eller inte.
Jag vet, hela tiden farväl från mig i bloggen… särskilt när vi ska ut på havet,
och det ska vi nu snart. Och det blåser rejält. Men vi tänker vara lite tuffare nu när barnen och Spirit inte är med, och gå ut i vindar som vi lärt oss undvika. Vi tror vi klarar det.
Planerar ankra nästa natt utanför Tavira, och sedan fortsätta mot Faro på tisdag morgon.
Jag har uppdaterat med vårt nuvarande, och enda fungerande, portugisiska telefonnummer under fliken “div info” längst upp i sidhuvudsbilden.
Det känns lika nervöst som alltid att gå ut i ovissheten om väderkonsekvenserna där ute. För några timmar sedan kändes det helt lugnt i mig, och jag tyckte Nuno studerade väderleksrapporterna tjatigt mycket. Kände mig kaxigt trygg med vår seglingsvana. Nu börjar modet svika, men ännu inte beslutsamheten. Beslutsamheten brukar vara ända tills det ändå redan är lite sent att vända tillbaka..
Ja så nu kommer ett till av mina farväl inlägg..

 Modulate collective member Bobby Bird will give two rare live Higher Intelligence Agency performances this summer, the first at  Muzyczne Ambient, a festival in Gorlice, Poland where he will headline, and the second at the Boom Festival in Portugal. 

After not playing live for a few years, spending time creating multi speaker installations and AV works with Modulate, bringing up a young son, converting a Dodge truck, building a new studio, and using his programming skills in projects such as last years PLUS installation  Illuminate , there seems to be something of a resurgence of interest in HIA. Last year he was invited to play at the prestigious Detroit Electronic Music Festival U.S.A

The sound of Goa Trance

Goa Trance is essentially “dance-trance” music (it was referred to as “Trance Dance” in its formative years), the original goal being to assist the dancers in experiencing a collective state of bodily transcendence, similar to that of ancient shamanic dancing rituals, through hypnotic, pulsing melodies and rhythms. As such it has an energetic beat, almost always in 4/4 time and mainly consisting of 16th or 32nd note patterns played in both synth and percussion parts. A typical track will generally build up to a much more energetic movement in the second half then taper off fairly quickly toward the end. The BPM typically lies in the 130 – 150 range, although some tracks may have BPMs as low as 110 or as high as 160. Generally 8-12 minutes long, Goa Trance tracks tend to focus on steadily building energy throughout, using changes in percussion patterns and more intricate and layered synth parts as the music progresses in order to build a hypnotic and intense feel.

The kick drum often is a low, thick sound with a large amount of sub-bass frequencies, and is thought to be the origin of the term doof, a label for dance music and Goa Trance in particular. The music very often incorporates a great deal of effects, much more so than other forms of dance music, and are often created through experimentation with synthesisers. A well-known sound that originated with Goa Trance and became much more prevalent through its successor, psytrance, is the organic “squelchy” sound (usually a saw-wave which is run through a high-pass resonance filter), known to sound especially good on psychedelic drugs.

Other important pieces of equipment used in Goa Trance include popular analogue synthesizers such as the Roland TB-303, Roland Juno-60/106, Novation Bass-Station, Korg MS-10, and notably the Roland SH-101. Hardware samplers manufactured by Akai, Yamaha and Ensoniq were also popular for sample storage and manipulation.

A popular element of Goa Trance is the use of strange samples, often from sci-fi movies. Those samples mostly contain references to drugs, parapsychology, extraterrestrials, existentialism, OBEs, dreams, science, spirituality and other things that could be deemed as “mysterious” and “unconventional”. Boom Festival is a global art, music and culture gathering held every two years in Portugal’s sun-drenched countryside in a stunning outdoor location on the shore of the Lake Idanha-a-Nova.A multi exploratory art platform/ gathering for the psychedelic culture and scene. Our communication changes during these few days and in the end there is no more need for words. We communicate through Art.

Synchronized multi-dimensionally with the full moon of August the next incarnation of Boom is taking a bio-dynamic approach by incorporating a variety of sustainable techniques and Earth-based forms throughout its infrastructure. Reflecting a harmonic balance of the organic and the cyber-technologic, Boom 06 maps the metaphysical framework in accordance with Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. Boom festival due to its conscious shape shifting and mutating properties happens every two years.

The tone is set for a transformative experience in celebration of the perpetual cycle of creation and re-creation – from the Beginning of the Whole to the Eschaton.
