The Hundreds drop a limited capsule based on their mascot Adam’s rival Badam. “Who’s Badam? If our buddy Adam is a relatively easy-going, nice, happy incendiary device, Badam resides all the way at the opposite end of the spectrum. Who is the genius behind: The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day, 10,000 BC, The Patriot, and Eight Legged Freaks? It is a man who lives to produce suspenseful, heart throbbing, on the edge of your seat action. His name is Roland Emmerich. Heard of him? No? I am sure you were too busy catching your breath, while the credits rolled, to catch his name. Well, my friends, Mr. Roland is back and he means business.

Just in time for Thanksgiving: 2012.

I’ve never been a fan of number titles, but considering the subject matter it does fit quite well. The film tells the story of the 2012 survivors of Pearl Harbor. Unlike other war torn movies, which focus on a few characters, Emmerich instead turns the camera’s focus to all 2012 survivors and their respective storylines.

Jump-cuts, flash forwards, and flashbacks galore, the film moves briskly, jumping from one plot line to another. There is singing, dancing, and Emilio Estevez as the real estate agent. Emmerich has taken sad subject matter and spiced it up, added some fun, with a dash of humor. Like the other audience members, I was stifling my giggles as the film started, but by the end boisterous laughter became very contagious.

The film moves briskly at a run time of 2 hrs and 20 min. However, the credits list all the actors, producers, crew, etc in all 2012 storylines. It’s over 4 hours long. I can’t watch this shit.

They say war is hell. War with squirrels, well that’s just plain nuts. Announce your adoration for antediluvian animal artillery with this stylish and squirrely fashion statement. Whether your plans involve running out of cannon balls, staging an armed insurrection att a pet store, or you just love awesome design, this is the shirt for you my friend.

This has got to be the fastest economic collapse and recovery in the history of the world.  Just a year ago we had economic meltdown.  Many people so much closer to the action thought that our entire banking system was going to collapse.  They felt there would be runs on the banks and that faith in our economic system would be so poor that people would ditch the dollar entirely and begin bartering. 

As it turned out there was a run on one bank, Washington Mutual.  In just a few days they lost billions of dollars.  Thankfully, most people weren’t paying much attention, so they didn’t lose faith.  JP Morgan Chase came to the rescue and took over Wamu just in time. 

Just a year ago, CBS had some serious liquidity problems.  What’s more, advertising sales were way WAY down, and people wondered whether they’d survive.  Here it is a year later and CBS stock has gone from a low of $4 a share to $12 somthing today.  That’s a tripling of price.  Not only that, but CBS is going to pay a DIVIDEND this time around.  I think it’ll be to holders of record at the beginning of December.  That’s usually how these things work.  Seeing that the stats look good for CBS I went out and bought some the other day. 

CBS is a good barometer of the economy because when businesses feel they can operate properly, they begin spending on advertising.  Advertising drives a lot of our economy, and it’s also among the most fragile commodities sold in our economy.  So, you just know that if companies are advertising, there must be some optimism out there for the future.

But what about jobs?  Jobs always lag.  A company is going to get on firm financial footing and then they’re going to get more sales and then they’re going to run their current employees ragged servicing the new customers before they’ll ever think about hiring more people.  So, jobs are a long way off.  I don’t see more jobs out there for at least a couple years. 

But the economy itself?  If you saved your money instead of spending it on an overpriced home, you’re now in a great position to take advantage of bargains.  With our current deflation, prices are coming down on a lot of commodities.  It’s a good time to buy lots of stuff.  Heck, even gasoline is down.  In SF last night it was $2.85 once again.  So much for the Bill Wattenburgs of the world who predicted that unless we go nuclear we’d be paying upwards of $5 a gallon for gasoline.  Ain’t gonna happen in a deflationary time.

And what about deflation?  Is that good for us?  Well, in the long run it means that wages are ultimately going to drop.  We’re already seeing this.  Today, clerk typists are making about $12 an hour.  Fifteen years ago, clerk typists were making about $15 an hour.  But, as our labor becomes cheaper we will begin seeing a lot of the jobs that had been offshored to Asia come back to us.  I think we’re about to hit a job boom within the next five years.

So, I dunno about everyone else, but, I have a thing for basics. I like the things that you can wear with anything; because of that, I decided to add some basic turtlenecks to my clothing collection for both men and women.  I also released a version that is a little more risque for anyone wanting to turn up the heat or…if you just want your man to look at you and see how cold it is outside.

For women, I released a version that I think looks pretty soft.  My friend said it looked like cashmere so it kinda got that as its name.  It comes in a wide assortment of colours to meet everyone’s taste (I hope).  It also comes in all layers with sculpted neck and sleeve attachments.

Since I make so many colours, I introduced colour packs at my store with this last release; since fatpacks of like, 20 colours can be a bit much for the inventory to handle.  Now you can get 4 colour Plump Packs of my newest female items and hopefully, some of the older ones in the near future.

I didn’t forget about the guys either.  I also released a set of turtlenecks for men.  It comes in not as many colours, simply because I don’t see many men running around in doll pink, peach or pale yellow.  It happens, just not often.  To make things a little better for the guys, I included two sleeve types, one that is long sleeved and the other that is slightly rolled up.  Again, they come in all layers for wear with jackets or as sleeves underneath tee shirts, etc. and have sculpted sleeve and neck attachments.  I also introduced colour packs for guys, all colours are available in the Husky Pack or get a set of 3 colours in the Lil Chub Packs.

Last but not least, the something risque…While I was working on the turtlenecks, a thought came to mind.  Winter = female built in thermostats.  I giggled a bit and made this crop.   Then I thought, hey, I never saw piercings done in SL under shirts.  They may have them but I’ve never seen them.  Well, the other two versions of this happened next.  This top also comes in like a gazillion colours and each colour has three options.  One for pierced with hoops, one for pierced with barbells and the last, non-pierced.  As always, all layers.

Bomen zijn een beetje zoals mensen, in die zin dat ze blijven boeien. Je kan ze op honderd manieren benaderen, naargelang je standpunt een andere uitstraling geven, ze dragen hun plunje volgens de mode van het seizoen, zien er steeds weer anders uit.

Geiten zijn behendig. Langs de kust van Marokko is dat goed te zien. Kleine kuddes geiten worden door hun herder het bos in gestuurd. De geiten klimmen met gemak hoog in de Aganiabomen. Aan de Arganiabomen zitten noten die gebruikt worden voor bijzondere olie en biologische cosmetica. Een leuk tafereel die de moeite waard is om voor te stoppen.

Ik begrijp je. Als je mens was geweest, had ik je nachtmens genoemd. Je zou waarschijnlijk tot vier uur in je onderbroek roer-ei staan bakken, zware literaire werken lezen onder een schemerlamp of met nachtvrienden de slapende stad onveilig maken. Soms zou je rokend en drinkend je slapende medemens vervloeken om wat hij wel en jij niet kan: zacht en roze en onbewust een nacht doorglijden. Geloof me, vogeltje in een boom voor mijn huis, je bent niet de enige. Als je mijn buurman was geweest en we hadden in de jaren dertig geleefd, zou ik door onze bordkartonnen muren het vredige geluid van jouw typemachine gehoord hebben en er altijd bij in slaap vallen. Je zou in louche kroegen vieze vrouwen betalen om je in slaap te toveren. Misschien zou je paranoïde schilderijen maken over de lichtflitsen die iemand met een chronisch slaapgebrek soms ziet; bij een klein, slapeloos publiek zou je in jouw tijd geroemd worden, om decennia later als onderschatte artiest op te doemen in schoolboeken.
Vogeltje in een boom voor mijn huis, jij hebt alles geprobeerd. Ik weet het: verre tochten vliegen om uitgeput te raken, warme melk met honing en lavendeltherapie krijgen de sterksten onder ons niet zomaar in slaap. Je bent een denker, een piekeraar, een filosoof. De onbegrepen bleke merel. De dorpsgek met diepte.

Ik heb oprecht medelijden met je, slapeloos vogeltje in een boom voor mijn huis, maar kun je voortaan alsjeblieft in stilte lijden?

Saturdays are usually the best days to have a break and have a day out.  So that’s what I did.  I’m all for cute and comfortable and that’s what this outfit said to me.  I built the outfit around the hair which is the newest of my favorite hairs.  Don’t be surprised if it starts popping up in more pictures because that’s how much I love it.  For a nice change, I went blonde.  Normally I’m into the brown shades in hair but lately I’ve found myself going towards blonde shades.  Might be a whole new look for me, we’ll see.  The hairs a steal at a cool 95L plus it’s scripted for resize which makes it easy to adjust and you don’t have to worry about overstretching.
