Now if this was the USA you know there will be whole industries popping up for other sports fans to claim money for poor performances they have had to endure.

Some of the claims I think that would appear include:

Eye Torture, for just poor play on the pitch.

Repetitive Stress Injuries – as a Boro fan i know this one as the pain never seems to go away, no matter what we do.

TWOCing – touching without due care. Henry watch out!

Any more suggestions?

So….3 days on since the last update.

Donna spent the weekend in London which was also her final meal for 2 weeks…..haha only kidding. Not eating will actually effect fat loss results WORSE than eating regulary.

For the next 14 days Donna can’t eat any wheat, processed foods, sugar, or drink any alcohol or caffiene.

Today she has ate a ham salad, banana, beef mince, 2 oranges, 2 apples, and a handful of nuts. We have also done a workout-which was Donna’s 2nd one.

Her general mobility is getting better and her exercise technique has improved a touch from the 1st session. Look forward to Wednesday’s which will be a step up in intensity.

Algumas vezes vejo aranhas subirem as paredes. Outras horas elas estão somente paradas. Nunca são grandes e sim, pequenas o suficiente para entrarem embaixo do lençol enquanto durmo e me ferroarem, tentando me mandar embora da cama, do quarto, da casa ou da vida.

O fato é que penso saber que as aranhas não existem, contudo as ferroadas sim, essas se espalham por meu corpo, nos lugares mais improváveis, mas nem por isso impossíveis. Portanto, finjo que são marcas de outros bichos escrotos.

Uma vez, lembro de, lavando os pés, afogar uma dessas aranhas. Sensação boa, menos uma marca pela manhã.

So here we are on day 2 on the big sister challenge. I have to say seeing my big sister in a little bit of jelly legged action training was highly amusing!

Today we’ll be going food shopping and teaching her what foods to eat, the why, and all of that valuable information.

Donna’s usual shopping lists include;

Pasta, Haribo’s, Pringle’s, crisps, chocolate bars, fizzy drinks etc, etc.

From today she’ll be eating foods with a lot higher nutrient value in them;

a lot more veggies, eggs, lean meats, nuts, fruit, etc, etc.

I’ll also be teaching her how to cook properly.

‘Cooking’ pasta doesn’t count Donna! : )

I’ll report back in a bit to note down a few things she’s bought and how she’s getting on with no junk food and fizzy drinks.

OK so it’s now 7.30 and Donna’s had a much better day on the eating side of things.

She woke up today and ate porridge with banana flavoured protein to help with the taste. She wouldn’t go for the veg stir fry-needs a bit more of a mindset shift for that to happen : )

We went shopping, and we spend longer in the veg section then she has in her entire life i think?!

Bought mangetout, green beans, lettuce, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, apples, etc, etc. Bought some nuts, and eggs. Still some more things to buy but it got her on the right track.

In addition to her porridge Donna has drank some green tea, and water (not as much as i’d like) and she’s had scrambled egg with baby tomatoes and peppers.

Her 2nd workout will be tomorrow, so i’ll be hoping she drinks more water, and eats something else. As it stands she’s never hungry.

Work to do but 200% better than how she was before we started.

we are nearing the end of our first journey in the world of glass art instructional videos, it will of course be available on dvd, and we are looking into forms of direct download digital delivery methods as well, we have worked hard on this and are very excited about its launch. as you can see my living room has been converted into a small studio, my wife has been out of town on business and I am hoping to get the place looking normal again before her return.-)

For over fifteen years I’ve wanted to make a quilt from just the stains in old linens.  Haven’t gotten beyond a couple test pieces, but I’ve been collecting examples all along.  The stains are a kind of ‘natural dye’ that has story behind it.  Something spills while I’m paying more attention to what you’re saying across the table, or while that young man is flirting with the new visitor.  Or the old gentleman who insists on pouring the wine though he has trouble seeing whether the bottle is over the glass.  Also, I always wonder what goes though the mind of the host when the spill happens.  Dismay?  Who-cares,-we’re-having-fun? It’s so generous, isn’t it, to invite people to mess up your stuff?  But what if it’s not really messed up?

I dont know about others, but I can really end up in the artistic dull drums if I work glass alone, I believe glass is something to be shared, so I often find myself with friends that also love doing what I do.

here I capture a moment of time as my good friend Ryan Clapp works with a small tube encasement, he works with striking colors and loves silver (don’t we all?).  he has been coming out on Thursdays, and blowing glass, I am following up on an opportunity to blow glass with some other local artists from the Salem area. I love learning, and have found that being around other glass artists keeps me learning, I wish I could spend my whole life just melting, blowing glass, and photographing nothing but flameworking, but alas, there are other things that need doing. and I must do them. like make videos, speaking of which, we should have a few more videos coming out in the near future.-) I know that will make many very happy.-)

you know, when I got involved in video and film type stuff I was just a kid, now here all these years later, I can look back and say, not much really changes. sure, we use digital sensors instead of film emulsion on a cellulose backing to record the images, but pretty much the rest is the same. I have a saying “everyone has a video camera, but only a few make programing worth watching.” and the same is true in glass art, everyone has torches, but only a few can really work borosilicate glass, not to say people cant learn enough to be a hobbyist with it, its very possible, but only a very few take it to the step of making it their life work, and only when you make everything you do revolves around glass art do you really start seeing the bigger picture. its hard work, long hours, it can be barely profitable or highly profitable, and I find myself right in the middle of it all.

Glass has captured me, working it, thinking about it, blogging, and vlogging about it, and working it every time I get the chance. I have to wonder how many addicts this art form has claimed.-) The one regret I have in all of it is not having the time to produce even more videos, Blog entries and online galleries and photo albums. its frustrating to realize that I have so much further to go when it comes to discipline. its hard work trying to create online content, and this blog is no exception. I don’t consider myself a writer, which makes it even harder at times, I am still amazed when I log on to find out that people are reading the stuff I put on line, and even more amazing is the number of people that have been tuning into the live broadcasts from my little studio.-) I have not really advertised in any way that there is a window directly into what I am doing right on my website, and yet, I have viewers each and every time I live broadcast, its a little spooky that I may actually have a fan or two.-)

so I find myself wondering how I can best serve the online audience I do have, the simple answer is that I could provide more content on a more consistent basis. and that is really my real goal, more blog entries, more videos on youtube, more instructional dvds, (the first one is almost finished.-) and so I take this moment to say, I am sorry for the less than perfect record of online posts that I have been producing. I will make every effort to do more, and keep a stream of media flowing for those that are interested.-)

An exercise I’ve turned back to again and again over the last couple years is one that begins with almost nothing and builds.  This originally started with trying to see whether very narrow cut offs and selvages could be sewn together in any way.  Playing around.  I liked the way it looked, tried some more and soon had several ribbony strips that looked like bookmarks.  They work well for that too. Have given a bunch away, but continue making them for myself.  They are like sketches, quick and gestural.  Or collages.  Or boro.  Little compositions, very improvisational.

Steve Gibson is once again proving he is one of the best chairmen a football manager can have. This opinion seems strange when he has recently admitted to hatching a plot to sack Gareth Southgate weeks before he actually did (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8318553.stm). He strung Southgate along, knowing fore well that come Tuesday he’d be gone – regardless of the outcome of the Derby game.

So why then is Steve Gibson one of the best? Well firstly his decision was not knee jerk. If he was that way inclined he had numerous opportunities to relieve Southgate of his duties. He could have sack him during the slide towards relegation of straight after. Gibson approached his decision in a calm and measured way. He took results into account but placed a lot of emphasis on performance and who those results were achieved against. One has to think that the 0-5 defeat to West Brom was the catalyst for the decision being taken.

Gibson has said that automatic promotion was always the goal and at the beginning of the season ‘Boro, Newcastle, Sheffield Utd and West Brom was the likely candidates for two spots. Losing 0-5 does not logically lead to the conclusion that ‘Boro could compete.

Secondly, once the decision to replace Southgate had been made, rather than sack him there and then, appoint a caretaker, and find a replacement, he kept Southgate in charge. Genius. Results were not horrendous, particularly away from home, so keep the momentum going. Once the successor had been all but confirmed then the dismissal came. Whilst this is not kind to Southgate it helped the team enormously. Steve Gibson has a responsibility to the club, not Southgate.

Finally, and if the reports are true, then Gibson has selected one the best managers available in Gordon Strachan. He worked wonders at Southampton, Celtic and, to a lesser extent, Coventry. He is the perfect choice to lead ‘Boro into the Premier League next season and give the fans renewed faith.

Well done Steve Gibson, not a set of easy decisions but he has handled them very well and done the club proud.

Esse Grito da Rua foi filmado em Santana 2 meses depois que o Daniel Trigo venceu o Campeonato Brasileiro em Guaratinguetá. Gráças a essa vitória dele, o skate da zona norte de SP começou a ter mais atenção e exposição. Isso tambem foi numa época antes da existência da ZN skatepark e numa época onde agente se encontrava diariamente nessas praças para andar de skate e aprender manobras. Apesar do chão podre e maldito que atrasou muito nossa evolução, continuamos batalhando até a inauguração da ZN.

Patriarhul Daniel al BORo

În anul 1998, între 20-22 iulie a avut loc, la Durău – în vestitul centru ecumenist înfiinţat de actualul PreaFericit Daniel – Simpozionul Iudeo-Creştin „spiritualitatea psalmilor şi morala socială a profeţilor”. La Simpozion au participat rabini de mare rang şi preoţi profesori universitari ortodocşi. Evenimentul a fost prezentat pe larg, cu luările de cuvânt ale participanţilor, în paginile revistei Teologie şi Viaţă, nr. 5-12, mai-decembrie 1998, publicaţie a

Mitropoliei Moldovei şi Bucovinei, condusă pe atunci de ÎPS Daniel, actualul patriarh. Simpozionul, aşadar, reprezintă punctul de vedere asumat de autoritatea arhierească a (pe atunci) ÎPS Daniel.

Pe scurt, înterpretarea profeţilor Vechiului Testament a fost făcută în cheie socială, chiar socialistă. Profeţii sunt prezentaţi de preoţii profesori şi rabinii participanţi drept propovăduitori ai „dreptăţii sociale”, ai „eticii sociale” şi ca apărători ai demnităţii umane. Adică, propovăduitori ai unei ordini ideologice omeneşti utopice, în care „dreptatea şi pacea” stăpânesc. O orânduire socială perfectă, lucru pe care Dumnezeu niciodată nu l-a făgăduit omenirii. Nimic mai departe de mesajul proorocilor, care au anunţat venirea Mântuitorului şi distrugerea acestei lumi aşa cum este ea acum. Profeţii au propovăduit Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, care nu este din această lume. Noii teologi afirmă însă că proorocii propovăduiesc o împărăţie lumească.

Mai grav decat atât este însă faptul că preoţii profesori ortodocşi, prin interpretarea ideologică a profeţilor, legitimează şi asumă interpretarea rabinică a acestora. Care este aceasta? În luarea sa de cuvânt din cadrul Simpozionului, rabinul şef al oraşului Haifa, Shear Iashuv Cohen, a afirmat, în faţa auditoriului ortodox, urmatoarele: „Toate popoarele îşi vor da mâna, iar Ierusalimul, oraşul dreptăţii şi al justiţiei, va fi oraşul păcii pentru poporul evreu şi pentru toate popoarele. Să ne rugăm pentru binele Ierusalimului, căci de binele lui depinde şi binele poporului evreu, ca şi al tuturor popoarelor lumii, acum şi în veci, Amin!” (Teologie şi Viaţă, p. 64).

Mai departe, rabinul Rene Samuel Sirat, Vicepreşedintele Consiliului Rabinic European, afirmă mult mai tranşant: „Noi trebuie să ne pregătim să auzim pe Profetul Eliahu, care va anunţa venirea lui Mesia al Dreptăţii, al Binecuvântării, al Milei, al Adevărului şi al Păcii”. (Teologie şi Viaţă, p. 67).

Aşadar, profeţii sunt folosiţi pe post de ideologi ai unei noi ordini mondiale, în care Ierusalimul este capitala spirituală a lumii, iar stăpânul va fi „Mesia” rabinilor. Ce este grav în aceasta? Participarea şi girul teologilor ortodocşi dat acestei viziuni asupra lumii, viziune care nu este doar hiliastă şi promotoare a unui soi de socialism global, ci care Îl neagă implicit pe Domnul şi Mântuitorul nostru Iisus Hristos şi care îl vesteşte pe falsul mesia aşteptat de evrei, care nu este, potrivit învăţăturii ortodoxe, altul decât însuşi Antihristul.

Iată, de pilda, tâlcuirea dată profeţilor de un preot profesor ortodox participant la Simpozion, autorul articolului „Mesajul etic al profeţilor şi actualitatea lui”: „putem afirma că mesajul etic al profeţilor este de mare actualitate şi pentru a sublinia acest adevăr este suficient să vorbim numai despre viziunile lor măreţe, despre ordinea nouă socială care va fi întemeiată pe pace şi dreptate… Potrivit prevestirilor profetice, noua societate se va organiza după principiile păcii şi dreptăţii, neamurile vor preface armele în unelte pentru lucrarea pământului… “ (Teologie şi Viaţă, p. 80).

Şi mai gravă este următoarea tâlcuire, preluată din articolul „Dreptatea socială în scrierile biblice”: „Cu toate că îndemnurile şi sfaturile profeţilor adresate contemporanilor nu au fost întotdeauna ascultate, ei n-au încetat totuşi a arăta că într-un viitor îndepărtat tot ceea ce ei au propovăduit se va împlini întocmai, iar această împlinire ei au pus-o în strânsa legătură cu venirea lui Mesia. Împărăţia mesianică, aşa cum o concepeau ei, se caracterizează sub aspect social prin pacea şi dreptatea aşezate la temelia ei.” (Teologie şi Viaţă, p. 88).

Dar a afirma că profeţii au propovăduit despre o împărăţie din acest veac este lepădarea viziunii ortodoxe asupra profeţiilor şi răsturnarea întregii propovăduiri evanghelice! Mesia a venit deja în Persoana lui Iisus Hristos, iar împărăţia mesianică este Biserica, şi, după Judecată, Noul Ierusalim, Împărăţia cerurilor. Acesta este adevărul Bisericii Ortodoxe. Orice aşteptare a unei împliniri în acest veac şi al unei proiectări în această lume a făgăduinţelor profetice implică negarea lui Hristos ca Mesia şi aşteptarea unui altuia. Am făcut această introducere anamnetică pentru a oferi o cheie de înţelegere mesajului pe care PF Daniel l-a transmis ieri (1) unei adunări nu doar ecumeniste, ci pan-religioase care îşi propune nimic mai puţin decât „unitatea spirituală a lumii”. În mesajul scris în obişnuita limbă de lemn s-au strecurat însă unele cuvinte cheie care îl fac mai „pitoresc”. Unul din ele este „Biserica creştină” [n.adm. – de parcă ar exista biserică ateistă, biserică eterodoxă...]. Având în vedere că la eveniment au participat „ortodocşi şi catolici, păstori penticostali” este evident că patriarhul s-a referit la totalitatea confesiunilor creştine, numite în acest comunicat „Biserica creştină” (2). Or, acest lucru, din punctul de vedere al teologiei ortodoxe, este erezie, căci nu există altă Biserică în afară de cea Una [Sfântă], Sobornicească şi Apostolească, iar aceasta nu este în nici un caz o abstractă şi fantomatică Biserică Universală, ci singura Biserică Ortodoxă.

Al doilea aspect problematic al comunicatului este scopul anunţat şi asumat: unitatea spirituală a lumii, unitate supra-religioasă, o unitate în diversitate, care adună la olaltă toate marile religii. Dar unitate pe ce temei şi în vederea a ce? După cum vedem, în vederea unui „viitor mai bun”, a unei ordini sociale în care să domnească „reconcilierea şi dreptatea, respectul reciproc şi cooperarea pentru binele comun”. Adică, o unitate spirituală pentru aşteptarea unei noi ordini mondiale, a utopiei perfecte, instaurate de „Mesia”-Antihrist. Cu aceste speranţe de mai bine, izvorâte din credinţa lucrătoare prin iubire, salutăm şi felicităm pe toţi participanţii la Conferinţa ‘Spre o unitate spirituală a lumii’ şi ne rugăm lui Dumnezeu să ne călăuzească astfel încât împreună, în bună înţelegere şi pace, să ne apropiem unii de alţii, deschizând larg porţile iubirii dumnezeieşti către toţi oamenii”.

Yep! I had a post published on the 26th at Watch me create team blog. I forgot to tell you about it cuz, I went up North to take a break from my house for a little while. And that was nice. 

I am about to begin 2 weeks of solid work every day! It was nice to take a few days away from all of that, and now I have a gazillion things to do.

This boro sculpture will be with me at my next shows. This is demonstrating how the different color decals come out on borosillicate white glass.

A moto trafega na avenida vazia e pára. Quem sabe espera o casal que atravessa a rua transversal pra comerciar aqueles produtos que só aparecem à noite…

No prédio em frente ao meu a moça abre uma bíblia e a lê para o namorado nu na cama. Quem sabe a leitura do Evangelho ajude a trazer certas coisas de volta a vida…

No som toca um desses rocks pesados e o cd arranhado trava, fica a repetir “mine, mine, mine”. Quem sabe a resmungar dos maus tratos e reclamar independência.

Lá fora, o morador de rua estende seus papelões embaixo da marquise de um supermercado fechado. Quem sabe finge não ver o assaltante roubar o carro do outro lado da avenida.

Na janela, o adesivo de relógio marca as eternas horas: doze e oito minutos. Quem sabe profetiza a hora exata do fim dos meus tempos.

E tudo o mais irá acontecer comigo ou sem mim, ou sem você, ou com todos nós. Com exceção do cd arranhado que eu assumo ser falta minha. E da moça cristã, que se estivesse com um de mim, estaria abrindo a vulgata pra pedir clemência: “que Deus tenha piedade de nossas almas”.

Lá estava Ela. Deitada na minha cama. Nua. Completamente. Meio que de lado, me chamava, “vem me comer. cê sabe que isso é teu.” A mulher mais bonita que eu já tinha visto na minha brevíssima vida. Cabelo preto feito miolo de forno de fogão, aqueles lábios sempre pintados de cor escura, os olhos com lápis preto em volta, a pele branca.

Mas o que eu realmente gostava nEla (além do que tinha por baixo da calcinha preta que Ela sempre usava, e eu me pergunto se era sempre a mesma) era o sorriso, franco e certeiro. Está sempre feliz em fazer o trabalho que todos repudiam, sempre disposta a esticar a mão e mostrar a merda da realidade da forma mais interesante de se engolir.

Eu não cairia nessa novamente. Das outras vezes que nós transamos – e foram muitas e muitas outras – Ela me fez esperá-la ou rejeitá-la demasiadamente. E isso não é muito interessante pra uma alma de rapazote feito a minha.

Disse então que não haveria nada desse vez, “vá embora e leve essas coxas maravilhosas com você!”.

Ela se foi contrafeita.

Quando fechei a porta pensei ter visto um meio sorriso. Quem sabe…

Mas Ela volta. Ela sempre volta.

E é isso que a Morte faz com você: fode. E toda fodida que se preze (e eu garanto a vocês meus amigos que essa é fantástica) tem uma gozada formidável um pouco antes do fim.

Esse video aparece aqui graças ao Daniel Trigo. Nem ele sabe direito como essa fita terminou em suas mãos. Peguei a fita com ele e editei com uma trilha sonora apropriada.

Me lembro que eu não fui ao Dib nesse dia, porque era um dia de semana e estava trabalhando. Para quem não sabe, o Dib era uma pedreira alagada na Serra da Cantareira que estava desativada.
