Today is day five of my ‘One-a-Day’ photo blog for the month. These photographs were taken a few nights ago as I sat in the cold night air waiting for my bus home from work. I sit here at least four nights a week, most of the time it is too late so I don’t notice it. All the lights are out and the streets are tinged with just the orange of the street lights. On this particular night, the sky was clear of any clouds and the stars were shining brightly. The moon was in the ‘waxing gibbous’ stage of its cycle, just between half and full moon. It was bright, very bright. As I walked down Westover Road towards the square, I noticed the big white balloon, brightly lit, like the moon. I had to take a photograph of it. I had often thought about doing so but there were normally too many drunkards waiting for buses near to my stop, which always put me off.

Normally the Bournemouth Balloon can be seen floating up to the skies above the town, giving people a view of the surrounding area for up to 20 miles. It’s an attraction that I’ve not given much thought to actually going on, until recently. I’ve often sat in its shadow as it takes tourists up for a view of the sea, or whatever it is you can see. Maybe I’ll go up in the balloon on a nice sunny day, instead of laying on the grass under it wondering what you can see. Obviously, I wasn’t sure which photograph to post, so I posted both of the photos that I took.
