Para quem achava que Paulo Maluf não estava nem ae pros problemas da society, algumas fotos que estavam em seu computador pessoal vazaram na internet. Trata-se de um projeto para levar o ex-prefeito de São Paulo para o estrelato no mundo do rap.

O primeiro álbum de Maluf trata-se de um cd apenas de covers de seus artistas prediletos indo desde Thayde e Dj Hum, passando por Tupac e Notorius B.I.G, até chegar a Chris Brown e Bow Wow.

A data do lançamento do cd está prevista para adentrar ao mercado brasileiro em 12 de janeiro de 2010, mas ainda há muito suspense envolvendo toda a estratégia de marketing.

Mesmo sendo uma grande aposta do mercado fonográfico, a polêmica protagonizada pelo político e atual rapper no VMA desse ano ainda está causando muito furor. Nesse último escandâlo, Paulo tentou roubar o prêmio de Taylor Swift enquanto ela ainda tentava desferir palavras de profunda alegria. OK, it’s a rhetorical question…The obvious ploy to get record sales is everywhere these days. With more than obvious stunts and media hype (think 50 Cent and Kanye, did people actually believe the hype after week 1?),  Rick Ross’ son’s mother and 50 cent shopping for furs , (ignorant braggadocio with a f*#ked up message.), Now it’s Bow Wow and Soulja Boy(who’s beefing when you’ve got a black card?), or Jaz-O vs. Jay vs. Beans…(isn’t it worse when a crew of grown men can’t either work it out or leave it alone and are still beefing years and years later?)

Let’s get back to the art of music, not the art of war against each other…

Saturday night I somehow got invited to an event at a million dollar mansion in Buckhead.  Word is that it may be owned by someone associated with the singer of the smash hit (whatever) “Tardy For The Party”. Anyway, the champagne was flowing and my pals Amy and Ollie were drinking it up.  Bow Wow performed and Jermaine Dupri was spinning. I’m embarrassed to admit to dancing (and falling) in an awkward way.  Hey, I was trying to look hip (not so much).

Frank Ski from V103 and Keith Sweat were in the house.  Keith used to be married to Lisa Wu Hartwell from Real Housewives of Atlanta.  He’s also a pretty famous R&B singer (duh).

This was one of the killer auction items that I was tempted to buy.  The proceeds from the party went Jaden’s Ladder.  Former Atlanta Braves (now Texas Rangers) player Andrew Jones and his wife Nicole are grand ambassadors.

Steven Strawder aka Stevie Boi ” Shade Guru” is coming up with a new line of glasses November 15, 2009 that pummels his last line.  Strawder has  created 25 glasses and  each of them  have a distinct flare for every celebrity he has created them for.

He has created shades for Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga , Teyona Taylor, Omarion, Bowwow and lots more.  Stevie Boi is one of a kind in that he inspires his own style and he doesn’t mimic anyone elses. He’s also  been featured in” B Magazine” and several other national magazines as well.

I met Stevie, or who I like to call Steven in person before he became a huge name internationally in the fashion industry.  I was assigned to write a short piece on his fledgling music career which comprised of his infamous Myspace page and several You Tube clips with catchy songs concerning alien abuctions and haters.

We were at Starbucks and he couldn’t recognize me since i’m this tiny Indian chick and I couldn’t recognize him because he was  this extremely tall model with an eclectic style.  After 15 minutes of doddling around, we realized that we were each other finally. The interview went well and my best impression of Steven is that he’s a humble, kind-hearted man with big dreams that can’t be contained in a small area like B-more.

He was kind enough to lend his trendy glasses to students from my College to model at our International Fashion show and he  helped bring vendors to the show as well. Who knew that he would later hob nob with big names but still retain that sweet nature from when I first met him at  Starbucks. If anyone is a big fan of Beyonce, Rhihanna, Lady Gaga,  and they are also into high-end couture–just shell out some dinero for Stevie Boi’s shades and fashion line “Toxic”.

He’s a trendsetter with a heart: it’s hard to find that now-a-days.

Bow Wow was spotted kicking it up with Teairra Mari at Mist Nightclub on Halloween. I’m glad he found someone that’s his size. They look cute :-p

Teairra Mari and Bow Wow have been getting pretty close ever since they shot their upcoming film Lottery Ticket which also stars Naturi Naughton [3LW, Notorious Movie], Ice Cube and Brandon T. Jackson [Roll Bounce]. I’ve always thought Teairra was dating an athlete for some reason, but her and Bow look cute together, that is… if they are even a couple.
