My god! Avec toute cette propagande à 2 balles cette campagne de sensibilisation pertinente octroyé par les médias depuis quelques semaines,  j’en arrive maintenant à me questionner si je n’écris pas pour rien. Vous savez, ce virus hivernal destructeur qui sévit et qui massacre sans pitié jeunes et moins jeunes? Suis-je le seul qui a survécu à cette grippe atomique qu’est le H1N1?

Il faut dire que j’ai pas pris aucune chance: ma chère mère, infirmière de profession, avait pris soin de me voler quelques doses du précieux antidote. J’ai donc affiné mes plus belles seringues aiguilles et je m’en suis shooté une dans l’oeil pis une dans l’cul. Y parait que ça fesse plus.

Alors pour les quelques rescapés encore sur cette belle planète, ben je sais pas trop quoi vous dire… Dansez?

Yesterday evening I was watching Live at the rehearsal Studio and I was reminded as to why I love Canadian starlet, Leslie Feist. Her soulful voice is a throw-back to lost times, which pays homage to many great voices of the 40s and 50s, like Edith Piaf. While she embraces the past, Feist effortlessly storms into the future as she incorporates electronic sounds into her music for our modern musings, which is why her tunes might have become an instrument of remixery by many masters’ of the art, like Diplo, Boys Noize, LifeLike, Van She Tech and fellow Canadian electro pop duo, Chromeo.

A couple of months ago, I heard the Erol Alkan/Boys Noize collaboration which is know as “Waves”. It was huge, and still is a beater of a song.

However the first song I have for you today is the Chilly Gonzales Piano Remake. Gonzales’ style has been volatile to say the least over the past few years, but he has remained with the piano throughout. This song is beautiful to say the least. It keeps the awesome melody from the original, but it is oh so calming. Not one for the club.

This next one is by one of the original creators of Waves – Erol Alkan. This isn’t new, however it is a mix of two great artist, Erol and The Klaxons.

Next I have a Boys Noize Remix of a Chilly Gonzales for you (round in a circle eh?). I’m a huge fan of Boys Noize, have been ever since I heard “& Down” and “Lava Lava”.

As you may have noticed, I have not yet christened a “γ song”. This is because I came across two monstrous songs in the writing of this post, while perusing my Boys Noize Collection. I am unable to choose which is better, so there are 2 γ songs today (I know, against what I said before).

I was going to post this yesterday, but following some friends housewarming party Saturday, I was feeling so fragile the only thing I could muster was letting this wash over me three times, and then head back and stare blankly into the television – if not close my eyes!

You know that feeling when you’ve been to a brilliant party, and you wake the next day, and you feel like you’ve been beaten up by 18 gorillas, slung against the wall and spat out the other end like astroturf. Well – that was me on my Sunday!

Good thing I had Erol Alkan & Boys Noize and their already solid “Waves”, but perhaps an even better thing the rather wonderful Chilly Gonzales have gone and done this beautiful Piano Remake to massage tender heads after a night on the kill.

It’s a fitting tune for post #200 here on Space Dust as it sums up that the music presented here isn’t just about “Bangers” and “Screamers”, but even more so about fantastic, quality, audio stereophonic sounds – no matter what genre! This remake can be described in just one word: BEAUTIFUL!

Here’s to Erol & Alex for letting Chilly rip on “Waves”, and here’s to the next 200 posts!

So been listening to a lot of heavy, dubby, grimey stuff recently, and still not bored yet. Most recently, I’ve realised how good DZ is at producing, whether its his own tracks or his remixes. They’ve been popping up everywhere. C’mon, he even managed to make Major Lazer’s worst track sound half-decent! Anyway, his style is a rumbly dubstep bass with clattering percussion and occasional waving synths, so what’s not to like? If you haven’t injected this stuff into your ears yet then watch out, you might eject something else…

I put the sickest mixes up, none of his own productions though, you can find them for yourself if you like him. Heads up though: look out for his track with Excision. That’s all I’m saying…

Hey brothaz. It has been a while since I wrote for latenightshow. I am currently stationed in California, USA and after being here a few months I have discovered how bad taste in music most Americans have. I figured I have to do something about it.

I summed up some of the tracks that has about a hundred plays in my itunes and uploaded them. Also these tracks are not neccessarily house. This is no longer a blog whos soul purpose is to distribute music from only one genre. From here on everything I like can wind up here.

Чем мне нравится Polymorphic в отличие от братьев по оружию, так это продуманными, упругими, почти олдскульными бассами. Да немного не хватает разнообразия и индивидуальности трекам, но впереди еще.. Его трек Toxication – один из лучших среди Proxy-style, по моему скромному мнению. На этой неделе Polymorphic выпустил Rock On EP, добротную пластинку, скрежещущие и ухающие треки, стоит обратить внимание. Boys Noize

Headed out to Mighty for the Boys Noize show Saturday night. Got there about midnight and there was a line around the building of people hoping to get last minute tickets. Mighty is a pretty awesome club, except the pillars all over the room make it really hard to see, the bartenders are fast, but the drinks aren’t that strong, DNA lounge is better, their drinks are cheap/strong and the bartenders are fast.

So we caught the last hour of dJ Nisus, who was really good, kinda jungle/electro. But Boys Noize killed it. We danced hella hard. The bass during Boys Noize went through my whole body it was ridiculous! He played a lot of the new stuff from Power, highlight of which was Starter. He played a lot of older stuff too like OH!, I- robots. the highlight of the show for me was when he  played My Moon My Man, people went nuts. I’m always impressed when DJ’s re-mix their stuff for live shows so it’s not repetitive. Amazing show!

The Killers’ finale to Lollapalooza, and in all honesty the best (and probably most expensive) set of the weekend.

Deerhunter at Lolla…I didn’t realize how great they are live until after this weekend.

Alex Ridha A.K.A. Boys Noize just released his new album POWER a few weeks ago. I have always been a big Boys Noize fan since day one, so it only seemed proper to do this post in honor of one of my favorite producers and DJs. The album has a little bit of everything on it, from epic big room tracks to the down and dirty Boys Noize electro we have all come to love. Today marks the twentieth anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, which effectively was the Fall of Communism in Germany. The wall was built in 1961 and wasn’t pulled down until the 9th of November 1989. With me having a German grandmother i’ve always had a keen interest in all things German from a young age and have been told many stories about the Berlin wall by my Gran and my mum.

Seeing as this isn’t a history lesson though i’m not going to waffle on about the Berlin Wall, i’ll get to the point, this weeks list is a collection of German bands/artists, mainly hailing from Berlin but some from other areas. And also included in the list is one song about the Wall itself.

I Love Techno 09! How I wish I had been there. Myself and a group of friends went last year and it was some of the most hassle free out of country clubbing I have ever embarked on (anyone who has tried to reach the Benicassim festival can testify to this). We jumped on the Eurostar and after a couple of hours were nestled in the picturesque city of Brugge, before stomping off to Ghent for one of the best nights of my life.

So I was spitting feathers when this mangled girl saunters up to me last weekend, asking for a lighter, wearing an I Love Techno 09 fleece (who the fuck honestly wears a fleece anymore, especially to a rave? In fact who buys fleeces anymore? Actually why the fuck are ‘I Love Techno’ even selling fleeces?). Anyway…  we got into a conversation and she harped on about how amazing the whole thing had been, that Dave Clarke smashed it and SMD live were awesome (standard). By this point I wanted to spit in her drink, she wouldn’t have noticed either but I’m not that spiteful! Besides I couldn’t even muster moisture let alone spit.

So in celebration of mangled-random girl’s amazing night at I Love Techno here is as many of the main mixes I could find. If anyone finds a copy of Dave Clarke, Fake Blood, Laurent Garnier or the Crookers, please send me the link, although I doubt they exist.
