<title><![CDATA["Trampas” aerodinámicas.]]></title>

<p style="text-align:justify;">El tema de la aerodinámica en la F 1, es relativamente reciente, pues desde 1950 que se establece el primer campeonato, no se hacen estudios serios hasta la temporada de 1968, es decir, casi 20 años pasados desde la instauración del Campeonato del Mundo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">En las temporadas de 1968 y 1969 aparecen los primeros coches con apéndices aerodinámicos, más fruto de la intuición que del propio estudio como tal y, por supuesto, nada parecido a un túnel de viento, utilizado la primera vez en 1977 por Lotus. En 1966 aparecen en el equipo americano de coches CanAm Chaparral los primeros y enormes alerones, colocados en el centro del coche con resultados muy buenos, casi asombrosos,  lo cual fue extrapolado a la F1 por Brabham y Ferrari a sus escuderías, apareciendo en el GP de Francia con el Brabham BT 24 equipado con ¡dos! Alerones enormísimos y altísimos, uno sobre cada eje, sin regulación apenas sustentados por dos finos tubos de acero Reynolds, pilotados por el propio Jack Brabham y Jochen Rindt y el Ferrari 312 B conducido por Jacky Ickx y Chris Amon  con otro alerón al estilo Chaparral, más bajo y regulable en inclinación con un sistema hidráulico a voluntad del piloto. El resultado no pudo ser mejor para Ferrari, ganando Ickx el GP.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A partir de aquí, Matra, McLaren, BRM, Honda, Lotus, es decir, los equipos grandes de entonces no dudaron en hacer uso de ellos, acabando el mismo después del GP de España en Montjuïch de 1969 con sendos accidentes de Rindt y Graham Hill causados por dichos apéndices aerodinámicos, siendo prohibidos por la CSI (la FIA de entonces) a partir del siguiente GP, Mónaco, limitando tanto su uso como sus dimensiones.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">En 1970, la agudeza de Colin Chapman (  uno de los mejores, si no el mejor aerodinamicista de la historia de la F 1 ) y tras ver como su Lotus 72 arrasaba esa temporada consiguiendo el único título póstumo de conductores a manos del malogrado Jochen Rindt en Monza, creo al final de la temporada uno de los más revolucionarios y copiados coches de la historia de la F 1, el 72 C y 72 D, conocido como el “Lotus John Player Special”, negro y dorado, pilotado por un jovencísimo Fittipaldi , Reine Wiessell y en 1972 por un emergente Ronnie Peterson<!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Alerón trasero triplano (tres pequeños alerones en uno, con diferentes y regulables ataques), perfil en cuña derivado de los estudios de los coches de Indianápolis, apoyos laterales con los primeros pontones, frenos “in board”, spoilers de depresión delanteros, hacen del Lotus una verdadera revolución, copiando la mayoría de los equipos de F1 semejante disposición. Tyrrell, entonces el mejor equipo, con Jackie Stewart y François Cevert, diseña el modelo 001 y 006 se alterna con Lotus en la supremacía por los campeonatos entre 1970 y 1974, haciendo gala del dominio de la aerodinámica tanto unos liderados por Colin Chapman y otros por Ken Tyrrell y Derek Gardner. La unión de ambos desarrollos la sabe definir perfectamente Mauro Forghieri en 1974 diseñando el Ferrari 312 B3-74, con el cual gana Niki Lauda en el Jarama su primer gran premio.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">1974 También es el año de Brabham, pues un joven y desconocido sudafricano, de casi dos metros de alto, llamado Gordon Murray, contratado como jefe de equipo y diseñador por el nuevo dueño de Brabham, Bernie Ecclestone, hace ganar a su BT 44 a manos de Carlos Reutemann en el GP de Sudáfrica, con un coche completamente diferente a la idea de Chapman (por cierto, como premio Ecclestone regaló a Murray un reloj Patek Philippe que costaba un millón de pesetas de la época). Comienza la batalla de genios.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Murray vs. Chapman</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">El Brabham BT 44 llama la atención por su pequeño tamaño (sin duda influenciado por Tyrrell) y su perfil triangular. Esta disposición se mantendría hasta 1980 y el modelo BT 49. La disposición consta de centrar lo más posible las masas y reconducir el aire por toda la carrocería, utilizando un morro plano en forma de cuña y tomas de aire tipo “venturi” que casi cubren el tren delantero y una carrocería estilo piramidal, terminada en el fiable motor Cosworth DFV, utilizado por toda la parrilla a excepción de Ferrari y Tecno.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Mientras Chapman tira de su experiencia como miembro de la R.A.F. y empieza a engendrar lo que en 1978 se traduciría como efecto suelo, llegando a su epítome en modelo 80, prohibido por la FISA en 1979, el cual no disputó ni un solo metro en GP.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">En 1978 llegan a la cumbre de sus creaciones, presentando el Brabham BT 46 B y C frente a los Lotus 78 y 79, interpretando al máximo las reglas y vacíos legales del diseño aerodinámico. Una FIA presidida por Jean Marie Balestre no presta atención suficiente a ese capítulo, con lo que deja (peligrosamente) puertas abiertas al talento de  ambos. Aparece el efecto suelo o efecto ala, que es la adaptación de la norma básica de la aeronáutica aplicada en la F 1 y aplicada por Chapman en su Lotus 78 ( el efecto ala o efecto suelo se consigue diseñando el fondo del monoplaza en forma de ala de avión invertida, pasando el aire por debajo de la misma, creando una presión de forma similar a la que hace que un avión vuele y se sujete pero de forma contraria , es decir, pegándolo al suelo en vez de despegarlo), con lo cual empiezan a reducirse  los alerones exteriores ( en modelos como el Ligier JS 15 o el mismo Lotus que incluso prescinden de los bigotes delanteros ) y a desplazar al piloto más hacia el eje delantero para favorecer tal diseño, que llega a su máximo desarrollo con el uso de faldillas correderas a lo largo de los pontones del coche, con lo cual no deja que se escape cantidad alguna de aire reconduciéndolo por el fondo del mismo y disipándolo por el difusor trasero ( lo que ha realizado este año BrawnGp en su difusor adaptado a las normativas actuales ). Dichas faldillas en contacto permanente con el asfalto junto al diseño, generan tal presión que si pudiese rodar el coche en el techo, le bastarían 178 Km. /h para hacerlo, sin caerse.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Brabham presenta a sus estrellas de 1978, Niki Lauda y el modelo 46 B, que de forma similar  pega el coche al asfalto mediante succión… ¡por medio de un ventilador! Tal y como en 1970 Chaparral en su modelo 2J realizó con dos ventiladores y dos motores, pero accionado el ventilador a través de una toma a la caja de cambio. En Anderstorp, GP de Suecia, Niki Lauda gana su último GP antes de retirarse a finales de 1980, arrasando literalmente a los Lotus efecto suelo, y prohibido fulminantemente después, convirtiendo al Brabham en un coche más de la parrilla, principalmente por el uso de un pesado motor Alfa Romeo de 12 cilindros.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Estalla el efecto suelo, y lo hace en todos los términos, pues dada la configuración dinámica y estática de los monoplazas, hacen de ellos bombas rodantes para los pilotos. El uso masivo de los primeros composites en los chasis, los primeros ensayos en túneles de viento (Boeing cedió el suyo a tal efecto), la posición muy adelantada y poco protegida del piloto casi sentado en el eje delantero unido a los potentísimos y aún no igualados motores turbo (BMW llegó a los ¡1.200! CV en modo de clasificación ) a que por circunstancias el coche perdiese adherencia por choque o salida de pista y saltase por los aires ( literal ) acaban con la vida de Gilles Villeneuve en Zolder, GP. De Bélgica en 1982 , anteriormente con la de Patrick Depailler en Hockenheim , en agosto de 1980, o con la carrera de Didier Pironi en el mismo 1982 o el año anterior con la de Jean Pierre Jabouille , hacen que en 1983 los F1 pierdan dicho efecto y acotando las disposiciones técnicas de forma severa. La trascendental decisión de la FISA, la prohibición del Lotus 80 por su magnífica estratagema de diseño ( un chasis dentro de otro, eliminando por completo las reacciones de suspensión al piloto concentrándose sólo en conducir  y poco más ) unido a una precaria situación financiera atravesada por Lotus ( con ESSEX como patrocinador y su dueño en prisión por estafa y fraude al fisco inglés ) acaban con la vida de Chapman el 16 de diciembre de 1982 y comience el declive de Lotus, sólo brillando en manos de Piquet y un joven Senna, desapareciendo en 1994, en funcionamiento desde 1958.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La F 1 pierde a Chapman pero aún conserva a Murray, 20 años más joven, diseñando el monoplaza ganador en 1983 con Nelson Piquet a su volante y obteniendo su segundo título. Sencillamente genial. Nadie como Murray interpreta el reglamento, con diseños tan extravagantes aparecidos en esa temporada como el Toleman TG 183 B de un tal Ayrton Senna, con dos alerones traseros o el Tyrrell 012/3 pilotado por Alboreto, con alerón triangular en forma de flecha, pero inigualables a la sencillez del Brabham BT 52.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Aún le queda un as en la manga a Murray, que se desarrolla de forma trágica con la muerte de Elio de Angelis en las pruebas realizadas en el circuito francés de Paul Ricard – Le Castellet en mayo de 1986 de un extraplano y nunca visto Brabham BT 55              (revolucionario pero extremadamente frágil al llevar al límite el reglamento de la época) como consecuencia una vez más de la batalla contra el viento, al perder su alerón trasero a unos 270 Km. /h. Las casualidades a veces son crueles, pero hasta en eso se parecen Murray y Chapman, ya que Rindt pierde la vida como consecuencia de un intento de vuelta rápida en Monza, tras la orden de Chapman de retirar los alerones traseros a sus monoplazas. Poco tiempo antes el enfrentamiento entre Rindt y Chapman llevó a decir al austriaco lo peligroso del Lotus y las formas de su patrón. No se equivocaba demasiado.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Años más tarde con el comienzo del ocaso en Brabham, pasa a McLaren creando coches ganadores para Senna, Prost, Rosberg o Johansson, pero abandonando aquella rebeldía y frescura en el diseño y su “enfrentamiento técnico” con Chapman.</p>

<p>Para início de sexta eu tenho um post muito especial. Este será o primeiro post oficial de uma seção que tem seu espaço por aqui, mas que eu ainda não havia escolhido um nome. E como estou sofrendo uma crise de criação, produtividade e imaginação fértil, vou deixar como Retrô mesmo. Que horrível, me ajudem pô.</p>
<p>A seção tem por motivo lembrar de como era a Fórmula Um nos anos 80 e início dos 90, que para mim foi mais bacana que a de 70 (que também será lembrada) e era muito superior ao que estamos vendo hoje em dia. Não em termos de equilíbrio de forças, até porque hoje nós temos vários carros que andando no mesmo segundo, mas sim no que diz respeito à ultrapassagens, hoje escassas por causa dos super freios, que reduziram a área de frenagem, da aerodinâmica que causa turbulência (vamos apoiar o Max Hélio!) e por outros motivos já supracitados. Basta procurar no youtube videos destas décadas citadas e você vai entender o que estou dizendo.</p>
<p>Mas no final de semana passado tivemos a corrida em Cingapura e lá tem muitas ondulações no asfalto, fazendo com que os carros esbarrem o assoalho no chão e causando aquele show de fagulhas pela pista, algo muito comum nas décadas passadas. Deu uma espécie de Déjà vu.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Before the largest case of cheating in the history of Formula 1 stained the sports&#8217; fabric, before Renault finally got caught red-handed, there were five previous incidents where drivers took things a little too far in order to win. Some were successful and others were not:</p>
<p>1. Nelson Piquet (Sr.) drove for a team in 1982 named Brabham. His squad, accompanied with the Williams F1 Team (and a few others) were running regular engines, while other teams choose to run turbo-charged engines. Obviously, the turbo aided in a power advantage, so the turbo-less teams had to call to their creative side.</p>

<p>Brabham and Williams both requested to run a reserve water tank which, when asked by the FIA, was used to aid brake cooling. Whether or not they used the water to cool the brakes was not the issue. The teams filled up the reserve tank just before it was time to weight the cars before the race and emptied them during the first stint. That left the them a whole reserve water tank lighter, giving them the advantage they needed over the turbo engines. A loophole in the rules enabled them to re-fill the tanks after the race. During one race weekend, Piquet crossed the finish line in first place, thanks to his trusty reserve water tank. Ferrari and Renault protested, arguing against the existence of the reserve tank. The FIA sided with Ferrari and Renault and stripped Piquet (and Williams&#8217; driver Keke Rosberg of second place) of his win, handing it over to Renault&#8217;s Alain Prost.</p>
<p>A rule was later written stating that all cars need to be weighed before liquids were added.</p>
<p>2. Martin Brundle was behind the wheel of a Tyrrell who were only a handful of teams not harnessing turbo power. In 1984, the Tyrrell team decided to get just as creative as Brabham in 1982. They installed a 3.3 liter water tank to their racer which (quite legally) sprayed water into the air inlet trumpets on the engine. Suspicions suddenly arose when Tyrrell pit only to fill their water injection tank. After an investigation, it became apparent that mechanics were adding shots of lead into the tank at the same time, resulting in them running under the minimum weight. The team was banned for the remaining three races and excluded from the championship.</p>

<p>3. Arton Senna was furious for having lost out to rival, Alain Prost, during their controversial clash in the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix. Senna had always thought it was Prost who caused the incident (who happened to win the title while Senna was disqualified from that race). Keeping that in mind, Senna came back twelve months later seeking his revenge. Senna managed to secure pole while Prost sat satisfied in second. Off the line, Prost lead only slightly. Into the first turn, Senna stayed hard on the accelerator and took both of them out, securing his title.</p>

<p>4. Michael Schumacher had been driving a Benetton in the 1994 season finale when he slid off-track. After damaging his car, he took to the track just in time to steer into the Williams of Damon Hill, which eliminated them both and handed Schumacher the title (this stunt is getting quite repetitive). Having had great luck that year, he attempted at another scenario in 1997. He made a similar move, this time on Jacques Villeneuve. Both retired from the race but this time saw Schumacher disqualified from the championship. Villeneuve took the title. A Schumacher stunt which might be fresher in our minds than others happened at the famous Monaco circuit in 2006. He was on course to complete a qualifying lap when he (what seemed to be) under steered at the Rascasse corner, blocking his rivals from completing any potential quick laps (keeping his pole position time on top). Schumacher protested his innocence but was stripped of his pole and sent to the back of the grid.</p>

<p>5. Jenson Button and his BAR Honda team rarely saw a step of the podium and were disgusted with that fact. During the 2005 San Marino Grand Prix, they managed to secure a third and fifth place finish seeing Button on the podium. However, through post-race investigations, the team had been using a secret fuel tank. Once drained of fuel, the empty tank would have the car weighing at 5 kilograms below the minimum weight. The team argued, claiming that the car would never be operational unless the secret tank had at least 6 kgs of fuel stored (making it impossible to run below the limit). The stewards accepted their claim but the FIA didn&#8217;t. The team were later disqualified from Imola and banned from the two upcoming races.</p>

<p>You see, loop holes and white lies and bending the rules only slightly before they break are all tools of the game. It has just never witnessed pure idiocy. Planning to rig a race for the advantage of the team is not one of the tools F1 occasionally use to get ahead. Rigging a race is illegal. I&#8217;m glad Briatore has been banned from all FIA related practices, glad that Symonds is living out his five-year ban (in regret), and that Renault might witness similar fate.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lotus come back!]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-57" title="juan-zorzo" src="http://zrcf1.wordpress.com/files/2009/09/juan-zorzo.jpg" alt="juan-zorzo" width="206" height="206" />Sin duda hay días más grises, más alegres, más largos, pero hoy es uno de esos días que ha merecido la pena vivir, y si encima le añadimos el retorno de Lotus a la F1, miel sobre hojuelas.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A eso de las 12 a.m., la FIA anunciaba su vuelta, ocupando el vacío que en teoría debe dejar BMW-Sauber, en detrimento de varios equipos, entre otros el Epsilon-Euskadi de Joan Viladelprat.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Si hacemos un símil futbolístico, hasta mediados los años setenta, y en comparación con el resto de equipos, si Ferrari equivaldría al Real Madrid ( a mi pesar ), Lotus equivaldría al Club Atlético de Madrid, pues pese a los duelos con el F.C. Barcelona ( que sería el equivalente a los equipos angloaustralianos, es decir, BRM; Vanwall, Cooper, Brabham y McLaren) vivieron ambos fechas doradas, acabando los de Colin Chapman desapareciendo en 1.994 o como el Atleti años después en segunda división.<!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bueno pues siguiendo este simil futbolístico, desde 1958 a 1994 Lotus conquistaría 7 títulos de conductores, 6 de marcas, disputaría 1024 Gp´s , obtuvo 66 victorias y logró 102   poles ,66 vueltas rápidas, consiguiendo un total de  1419 puntos, es decir, desde la 1958 a 1978 7 títulos, 1.14 por  uno cada de Ferrari pues hasta 1978 se alternaban Lotus, BRM etc.. y Ferrari ( Atleti, Barça y Real Madrid).</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">El despliegue técnico y el innato talento de Colin Champan hacen de una modesta escudería radicada en los hangares de la RAF en Hethel ( tras progresar desde las caballerizas de la estación de Hornsey, al norte de Londres la más revolucionaria de toda la historia de la F1, pues del talento de Chapman surgen ideas aún en plena vigencia, tanto en la F1, como en los demás coches de competición y de calle. Chasis monocasco, efecto suelo, uso de aluminios, uso de fibra de carbono, turbina de gas (Lotus 59, 1968, retomado en 1971 como 59 B), modelos de tracción total ( Lotus 63 y 64, en 1.969), doble chasis (Lotus 86 desarrollado entre 1.980 y 1.983), alerón multiplano (Lotus 72 en 1.971), frenos in-board (Lotus 72 en 1.970), suspensión activa (Lotus 95 T en 1.986), desarrollo del motor Ford Cosworth DFV – 8 (el motor más laureado de todos los tiempos)… ¿a qué es interminable la lista?, pues si a eso le añadimos el talento para descubrir pilotos, imaginad, Clark, Hill, Rindt, Fittipaldi, Peterson,Senna, Moss, como para unas carreritas en una pista de karts…</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Sólo la mala suerte y no muy buena gestión económica, avocan a la escudería de Hethel a la desaparición, en parte por la falta de apoyos económicos, pese a conseguir grabdes patrocinadores y ser el pionero e introductor de la publicidad ajena al motor en la F1, en 1.969, cambiaría su verde inglés con el morro amarillo por el rojo y dorado de la marca de tabaco Gold Leaf, para acabar en el súmmum en 1.972 con el apoyo de John Player Special (si, si, los que rondéis la cuarentena como servidor recordaréis a Fittipaldi y Peterson sobre el Lotus 72 D, más conocido como JPS o John Player Special, negro y dorado, marcando toda una época y un estilo), siguiendo una marca tan insigne como Martini &#38; Rossi (los del vermouth) Olimpus (cámaras de fotos) y ESSEX, un petrolero excéntrico que acabó en 1.982 a mitad de la temporada en la cárcel por fraude fiscal y dejando “in albis” a los de Chapman, que retornarían a unos breves buenos tiempos de la mano de JPS como patrocinador, Renault como motorista y Senna dando lecciones.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Desde ahí, y pese a los múltiples esfuerzos de Chapman y sus herederos, pues acosado por las deudas y los problemas anejos a la escudería, fallece en 1.982 … debido a lo comentado con David Essex y la detención de John De Lorean en Irlanda, traficando con drogas para financiar el modelo DMC ( el deportivo de la película “Regreso al Futuro”) en el cual Chapman colaboraba de forma activa, pues no en vano su diseño es Lotus 100% y en un futuro la colaboración entre ambos genios estaba destinada a dar grandes frutos, truncado por ambas partes y su desdichado destino.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Hoy, 15 de septiembre de 2009, 15 años después, vuelve, y siguiendo ese símil futbolístico y de nuevo a mi pesar, lo haga de mejor manera que mi entrañable Atleti.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Sólo unos datos, que a continuación os dejo, para que imaginéis lo que fue esa escudería y el talento inagotable de Colin Chapman.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Fondatore di uno dei team più gloriosi della F1, inventore di straordinarie rivoluzioni tecniche, protagonista di successi, cadute, nuovi successi e nuove cadute. Inconfondibile con baffi, berretto nero ed esultanze coreografiche. Sfacciatamente contro corrente, per questo amato ma, allo stesso tempo e soprattutto, odiato. Unico al punto che addirittura sulla sua morte sussistano ad oggi ancora diversi dubbi.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Alla fine degli anni 50 lo sviluppo delle monoposto si concentra quasi esclusivamente sull’aumento di potenza del motore ed Enzo Ferrari è il primo sostenitore di questa filosofia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">D’un tratto poi, John Cooper ebbe l’intuizione di spostare  il motore nella parte posteriore, alle spalle del pilota. Il Drake commentò snobbando questa innovazione e sentenziò che “i buoi vanno davanti al carro e non dietro”. Il risultato fu che l’inglese si portò a casa 2 mondiali con Jack Brabham al volante e che l’italiano, ultimo fra tutti i costruttori, fu costretto a seguire la nuova concezione rincorrendo con notevole ritardo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-278" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="lotus_logo_01" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/lotus_logo_01.jpg?w=147" alt="lotus_logo_01" width="150" height="154" />Durante tutto  questo, Antony Colin Bruce Chapman, fondò una nuova scuderia chiamandola con il nome di un fiore, il loto, in onore della moglie ed apponendo nel logo le sue iniziali. Nacque così nel 1958 uno delle squadre più gloriose della F1, destinata a fare la storia di questo sport, il “Team Lotus”.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Colin Chapman era agli antipodi della filosofia di Enzo Ferrari, sposò in pieno la filosofia Cooper e si sostituì ad esso. Da quel momento in poi tutte le principali innovazioni tecniche della F1 portano la sua firma. Grazie ad esse la Lotus divenne la squadra con il maggior numero di successi e nel minor tempo, scavallando persino la Ferrari.</p>

<p>Fin da subito, la scuderia di Norfolk si fece notare con i modelli “Lotus 25” prima e “Lotus 33” poi, in cui venne introdotto il concetto di monoscocca in alluminio. Anziché la ricerca della potenza pura, la ricerca si concentrò sul rapporto peso-potenza.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Nel 1967 la “Lotus 49”, progettata per ospitare il poi glorioso propulsore Cosworth, fu la prima monoposto ad avere motore portante nonché la prima su cui vennero sperimentati degli alettoni. La collaborazione tra i 2 marchi si rivelerà ricca di successi e si protrarrà per ben 17 anni.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-286" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="Lotus_49B_a" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/lotus_49b_a.jpeg?w=150" alt="Lotus_49B_a" width="200" height="158" />Nel 1968 Chapman, oltre che tecnicamente, si dimostrò anche molto abile anche commercialmente. Fu il primo infatti a rompere il tabù secondo cui le vetture inglesi dovessero avere livrea verde, le italiane rossa, le francesi blu, e così via a seconda della nazionalità del costruttore. Ottenne così preziosi fondi colorando le proprie vetture con i colori rosso, panna e oro delle sigarette Gold Leaf. Da quel momento i poi tutti i colossi del tabacco si seguirono quella direzione.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-280 alignright" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="lotus_1971" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/lotus_1971.jpg?w=150" alt="lotus_1971" width="200" height="134" />Sempre nello stesso anno il team lancia la prima monoposto a 4 ruote motrici e con motore a turbina in occasione della 500 Miglia di Indianapolis. Gli stessi concetti verranno riproposti in F1 nel 1971 ma senza grossi successi. Il rischio fu parzialmente calcolato tant’è che, in parallelo, venne portato avanti lo sviluppo del progetto “Lotus 72”, la prima “Vettura Ala”.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">I primi alettoni risultarono essere troppo pericolosi e la federazione ne limitò pesantemente l’utilizzo ma Chapman, pioniere dell’aerodinamica, concepì nuovamente una rivoluzione. Anziché alloggiare un grande radiatore singolo sul muso, ne vennero adottati 2 più piccoli ai lati del motore. La risultante fu una sezione frontale più bassa in grado di fungere anche da ala. <img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-285 alignleft" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="Various090" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/various090.jpg?w=150" alt="Various090" width="200" height="134" />L’insieme delle soluzioni conferì alla vettura una linea a forma di cuneo in grado di permettere grandi velocità sul dritto e, allo stesso tempo, grande carico in curva. Con l’evoluzione 72C arrivò la sponsorizzazione John Player Special e con essa la colorazione nera con scritte oro la quale, più di tutte, caratterizzò le monoposto di Norfolk.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Nel 1977 fu il turno della “Lotus 78”, la prima vettura ad effetto suolo. Vennero creato un fondo a forma di ala rovesciata sotto i radiatori laterali, sigillato esternamente da 2 paratie che prenderanno poi il nome di “minigonne”. Il flusso d’aria sotto la vettura accelerava creando così deportanza. Ancora una volta geniale! Gli altri costruttori impiegarono molto tempo a capire i segreti del gioiello anche perché Chapman ne attribuiva beffardamente le straordinarie prestazioni ad un’ipotetica assenza del differenziale. Non solo, per avvallare queste dichiarazioni, ad ogni gran premio ordinava ai propri meccanici di manovrare le monoposto esclusivamente alzando  le ruote posteriori con un crick…</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-287" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="78j-1" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/78j-13.jpg?w=150" alt="78j-1" width="200" height="134" />La Lotus non riuscì a sfruttare a pieno questo vantaggio tecnico nelle stagioni successive. L’intuizione venne esasperata tentando addirittura l’abolizione degli alettoni in favore del solo carico offerto dall’effetto suolo ma senza grossi risultati. A questo si aggiunse  che, a causa dell’eccezionale aumento delle prestazioni delle vetture dovuto alla scoperta, la federazione decise di abolire le minigonne.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-283 alignleft" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="lotus88-1" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/lotus88-1.jpg?w=150" alt="lotus88-1" width="200" height="113" />Chapman non digerì mai la sentenza, ma non si dette comunque per vinto ed elaborò l’ennesima invenzione: dopo aver studiato il flusso dell’aria sopra la vettura prima, quello dell’aria sotto la vettura poi, si pose il problema del flusso dell’aria dentro la vettura. Partorì quindi l’idea della “Lotus 88”, un’auto con un doppio telaio. Il telaio interno e quello esterno erano completamente svincolati tra di loro. Gli unici punti di contatto erano in corrispondenza delle sospensioni tramite ulteriori ammortizzatori. All’aumentare della velocità i 4 ammortizzatori supplementari si comprimevano per il carico aerodinamico gravante sul telaio esterno schiacciandolo verso terra e avvicinandolo a quello tradizionale interno. A Norfolk avevano così recuperato il bandito effetto suolo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Per l’ennesima volta la federazione dichiarò irregolare la soluzione su pressione delle altre scuderie capeggiate dalla Ferrari. Questo fu probabilmente il colpo decisivo. Chapman  era nauseato perché, parallelamente alla condanna delle sue innovazioni, la federazione taceva sull’ascesa dei motori turbo e taceva sulle “sospensioni rigide” della Brabham. La sua verità era così sintetizzabile: “quella che era una competizione tra sportivi è degenerata in una lotta per il controllo della F1. Da quando, 22 anni fa, il Team Lotus ha iniziato a partecipare alle competizioni, nessuno ha vinto più corse e campionati di Noi. Nessun altro ha influenzato il progetto delle vetture quanto Noi. Malgrado ciò, siamo sottoposti a una pressione insostenibile da parte dei Nostri avversari che ci attaccano perché, una volta di più, abbiamo intrapreso una strada che saranno costretti a seguire. Se non si fa pulizia, la F1 s&#8217;ingolferà in un gioco di copiature, negazioni, interpretazioni meschine di regolamenti imposti.”</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">L’ultima monoposto fu la “Lotus 91” della stagione 1982, la 1° vettura ad adottare sospensioni attive ed anche la 1°, unitamente alla McLaren MP4/1, ad impiegare telaio in fibra di carbonio. Anche questa rivoluzionaria, equipaggiata però con un ormai insufficiente motore aspirato.</p>
<p style="text-align:right;"><em>…i grandi piloti…</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-294 alignright" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="425-Jim-Clark,-Cruel-Sport" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/425-jim-clark-cruel-sport.jpg?w=104" alt="425-Jim-Clark,-Cruel-Sport" width="150" height="217" />Oltre che per le straordinarie soluzioni introdotte La Lotus dove parte della sua celebrità anche ai piloti che le si accostarono fin da subito, mostri sacri entrati nell’Olimpo dell’automobilismo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La prima vittoria arrivò nel 1960 ad opera di Stirling Moss a Monaco.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Il primo mondiale con Jim Clark nel 1963. Successo ripetuto nel 1965 abbinato nello stesso anno addirittura alla vittoria nella 500 Miglia di Indianapolis.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Nel 1968 l’inglese morì tragicamente sul circuito di Hockenheim. Il mondiale andò al compagno di squadra e connazionale Graham Hill.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-295 alignleft" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="RINDT" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/rindt.jpg?w=112" alt="RINDT" width="150" height="200" />Nel 1970 Joken Rindt perse la vita al penultimo appuntamento di Monza, a fine stagione risulterà comunque primo ed il mondiale verrà assegnato postumo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Nel 1972 si impose il primo brasiliano campione del mondo, il “basettone” Emerson Fittipaldi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-299" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="Ronnie_Peterson" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/ronnie_peterson1.jpg?w=134" alt="Ronnie_Peterson" width="134" height="150" />Nel 1978 fu la volta di “piedone” Mario Andretti davanti al compagno Ronnie Peterson che morirà anch’egli l’anno successivo a Monza.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Quello dell’americano rimarrà l’ultimo dei titoli iridati piloti della Lotus.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Un percorso di grandi successi  ma, contemporaneamente, di grandi tragedie che alimentarono la tesi secondo cui le vetture di Norfolk fossero troppo estreme e quindi troppo pericolose. Basti pensare che si vociferava di un Jackie Stewart che fosse stato costretto a giurare alla moglie che non avrebbe mai guidato una Lotus. Di sicuramente vero c’è che queste tesi dettero forza ai rivali ed indebolirono la posizione del team nei confronti della federazione.</p>
<p style="text-align:right;"><em>…il declino…</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-296 alignleft" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="DEANGELIS_MANSELL" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/deangelis_mansell.jpg?w=150" alt="DEANGELIS_MANSELL" width="200" height="131" />Nel 1982 Elio De Angelis ottenne un’incredibile vittoria al fotofinish in Austria davanti al futuro campione del mondo Keke Rosberg, nonostante la vettura ancora non disponesse di motore turbo. Fu l’ultima volta che, sulla linea del traguardo, il “baffetto beffardo” lanciò il suo cappellino nero in segno di esultanza. Colin Chapman morì per un infarto solo pochi mesi dopo a soli 54 anni.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Da allora per il team, privo del suo timoniere, inizia un lento ma inesorabile declino.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La squadra ottiene un’altra vittoria con il pilota romano e fa esordire il giovane Nigel Mansell.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-289 alignright" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="SennaDetroit02" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/sennadetroit02.jpg?w=150" alt="SennaDetroit02" width="200" height="117" />Le ultime 6 vittorie arrivano con, e soprattutto grazie, ad Ayrton Senna la cui partenza con destinazione McLaren rappresenta la fine. Con lui alla corte di Ron Dennis migrano l’anno successivo anche i motori Honda.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Si provano la carta Piquet e quella dei propulsori Judd, ma senza successo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">L’ultimo colpo di coda è quello di far esordire altri futuri talenti quali Mika Hakkinhen ed Alessandro Zanardi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-290 alignleft" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="94-adams-f1-spa-" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/94-adams-f1-spa.jpg?w=150" alt="94-adams-f1-spa-" width="200" height="114" />Nel 1994, dopo 36 anni, si chiude amaramente l’avventura della scuderia inglese con una bancarotta da 23 miliardi di $. Fine. O forse no…</p>
<p style="text-align:right;"><em>… la misteriosa fine…</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ad oggi, ad oltre 25 anni dalla sua scomparsa, il vecchio Colin fa ancora parlare di sè.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-288 alignright" style="border:20px none;margin:20px;" title="1981_delorean_dmc12" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/1981_delorean_dmc12.jpg?w=150" alt="1981_delorean_dmc12" width="200" height="124" />Al momento della morte Chapman era coinvolto nello scandalo DeLorean e rischiava il crack finanziario oltre che il carcere. Questo è il motivo che ha indotto anche l’FBI a supporre che la “provvidenziale” morte improvvisa fosse in realtà una montatura.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Sembra che nessuno abbia mai visto la salma, eccezion fatta per la moglie. Sembra che non ci siano immagini del funerale cui furono respinti persino Fittipaldi ed Andretti, i piloti cui era più legato. Per finire, sembra che trapelino voci secondo cui i meccanici storici del team si ritrovino periodicamente per delle cene tipo rimpatriata, cui Colin partecipi regolarmente.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ma andiamo con ordine.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La DeLorean produceva un unico modello di automobile, quello portato alla ribalta dalla saga cinematografica di “Ritorno al futuro”, siglata DMC12. In realtà queste automobili altro non erano che una evoluzione della Lotus Esprit e questo era il motivo per il quale Chapman era a tutti gli effetti socio del fondatore John Zakarias DeLorean.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Chapman ottenne un finanziamento per l’apertura di un nuovo polo produttivo DeLorean in Irlanda del Nord, nonostante la casa automobilistica fosse ormai prossima al fallimento. Lo stabilimento non fu mai aperto. Di lì a poco la morte, improvvisa ed inaspettata, dopo la quale venne rintracciato un versamento da 18 milioni di $ su un conto panamense.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A questo punto, dopo essersi sottoposto ad un intervento di chirurgia estetica facciale, Colin si sarebbe trasferito in Sudamerica sotto falsa identità. Fino a qui quanto ipotizzato dall’agenzia americana ma sussistono ipotesi ancora più ardite…</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Quel generico “Sudamerica” più precisamente starebbe per “Brasile”, paese dove non è prevista l’estradizione e dove si è rifugiato da latitante Ronnie Biggs, uno degli autori della “Grande rapina al treno” Glasgow-Londra del 1963. Assurdo, ma secondo alcuni Bernie Ecclestone e Colin Chapman potevano anche non esserne all’oscuro…</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-291" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="ronnie -treno" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/ronnie-treno.jpg?w=150" alt="ronnie -treno" width="200" height="200" />Tra i partecipanti a quello poi ribattezzato come “il colpo del secolo” ci fu anche l’allora promettente pilota Roy James già noto alle autorità per precedenti di furto d’auto. Alla caccia di fondi per finanziare la sua carriera di pilota, si unì al gruppo degli altri malviventi con il preciso compito di guidare una delle auto preposte per la fuga col malloppo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Poco dopo la rapina entrambi furono catturati. Per James il sogno di una carriera come pilota rimase tale. Biggs invece riuscì incredibilmente ad evadere e sparire quasi 40 anni, fino al 2001, quando vecchio e malato tornò in Inghilterra dove venne arrestato. Dei soldi, ovviamente, nessuna traccia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">All’epoca dell’assalto al treno Chapman era già titolare di una scuderia in ascesa ed Ecclestone ancora solo un manager procacciatore di giovani talenti. Non è da escludersi che avessero messo ambedue gli occhi sul giovane pilota Roy James il quale si stava mettendo in luce nelle formule minori.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A sostegno della tesi ci sono alcuni piccoli retroscena…</p>

Da notare però che nella famosa guerra tra federazione e costruttori del 1981. Ecclestone e Ferrari stavano su 2 schieramenti opposti mentre Ecclestone e Chapman sullo stesso. Quanto stretto era il legame tra i 2 team manager inglesi?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-301 alignleft" style="border:20px;margin:20px;" title="colin-chapman-1982" src="http://f1allostatobrado.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/colin-chapman-1982.jpg?w=150" alt="colin-chapman-1982" width="200" height="170" />Inoltre, incalzato dalle domande sulla vicenda della rapina, Bernie dichiarò: “Roy era molto amico di Graham Hill e quando uscì dal carcere mi chiese un posto di lavoro. In quel momento ero proprietario della Brabham ma non gli diedi un volante. Lo incaricai invece di realizzare un trofeo in quanto Roy era anche un bravo orafo. Questo trofeo è quello che consegniamo ogni anno agli organizzatori e lo ha fatto proprio lui ma nessuno lo sa”. Avendo Hill guidato oltre che per la Brabham anche per la Lotus, non potrebbe aver fatto anche a Colin la stessa raccomandazione?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Insomma, Mr Lotus è vivo? No, è solo una leggenda…</p>

<p>Eu acompanho a F-1 desde que me conheço por gente (idos de 1981&#8230; com 9 anos&#8230;). Já se foram treinos por rádio, corridas com Luciano do Valle, etc&#8230;</p>
<p>Sou obrigado a dizer que de 1988 para cá a coisa mudou, e muito, e foi ficando cada vez mais chata.</p>
<p>O &#8220;circo&#8221;, é um business. E cada vez com cifras mais estratosféricas.</p>
<p>Todo mundo (os fanaticos e imprensa especializada), sabiam que com a entrada em massa das montadoras a coisa ia mudar de rumo e figura. Não que o show de tecnologia não seja o máximo, nada disso. Não sou saudosista, daqueles que tem um discurso tipo naquela época tudo era melhor, mais romantico, etc&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-477" title="AUTO-F1-INTERLAGOS-ALONSO" src="http://mundoamotor.wordpress.com/files/2009/06/610x.jpg?w=300" alt="AUTO-F1-INTERLAGOS-ALONSO" width="300" height="208" />Mas tudo mudou, exatamente em 1988, o ano que Senna trouxe a Honda e McLaren para outro patamar de investimento. Vou tentar<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-478" title="2005-Ferrari-F2005-Michael-Schumacher" src="http://mundoamotor.wordpress.com/files/2009/06/2005-ferrari-f2005-michael-schumacher.jpg?w=300" alt="2005-Ferrari-F2005-Michael-Schumacher" width="300" height="217" /> explicar: montadoras sempre namoraram a F1. Na década de 80 começaram a por as manguinhas de fora, no inicio com a Renault(equipe 81-82-83), seguida pela Porsche (motor da McLaren MP4 84-85-86) e Renault (motor da Williams 86-87). Mas eram investimentos módicos, e mesmo assim suas concorrentes, as equipes próprias (Brabham, Williams,etc&#8230;) foram saindo da frente.</p>
<p>Mas a Honda em 88 levou a coisa para outro nivel. O dos investimentos milionários, que entram e saem de acordo com a vontade de seus respectivos &#8220;boards&#8221;. Foi assim com a com McLaren Honda, Williams Renault, Benetton/Renault, Ferrari, McLaren Mercedes. Notem que todas, sem exceção gastaram fortunas e reinaram sozinhas por 2,3 anos; pondo em xeque inclusive a capacidade de certos campeões: Hill? Hakkinen?</p>
<p>Enfim. USD 300 à 400 milhões/ano é fora do normal, é nonsense. Só que temos aí um triangulo das bermudas: Montadoras e seus funcionários (equipes e pilotos), o dono do dindim(Ecclestone) e a dona da festa (FIA). Vaidades, interesses, dinheiro e politica. É uma bomba. Acho pouco plausivel um acordo. E insustentável a longo prazo.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p style="text-align:justify;">Verso la fine degli anni Novanta, dopo un bel po&#8217; di tempo trascorso a lavorare in quello che gli addetti ai lavori chiamano &#8220;IT tradizionale&#8221;, feci il grande salto verso il mondo delle Telecomunicazioni, e andai a prestare servizio presso un&#8217;azienda americana figlia della Bolla della New Economy. Era indiscutibilmente una DOT.COM, una di quelle aziende cioe&#8217; che, a partire dal nome stesso, evidenziavano chiaramente le loro origini, facilmente identificabili nella Silicon Valley della California. Quando la Bolla inizio&#8217; a sgonfiarsi, e molte di quelle compagnie videro svanire in pochi mesi enormi riserve di contanti e furono costrette a chiudere, la mia, grazie anche al fatto di avere un CEO illuminato alla guida, decise di cambiare rotta. E, a partire proprio dal nome, da cui spari&#8217; il suffisso .COM, divento&#8217; un&#8217;azienda che faceva &#8220;Telecom tradizionali&#8221;. Li lasciai nel 2002, ma loro oggi sono ancora li&#8217; e, in alcune aree geografiche, sono sempre dei fieri competitor del sottoscritto, nonche&#8217; dei buoni amici.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Tutto questo per introdurre un tema importante, quello del cambiamento come strategia netta e precisa. Quando una societa&#8217; commerciale, il cui obiettivo e&#8217; il profitto, capisce di navigare in una direzione che la portera&#8217; verso il naufragio, ha due possibilita&#8217; dinanzi a se&#8217;: cambia rotta, oppure insiste credendo di essere super partes, e di avere comunque una stella benevola che le splende sulla testa e che la protegge da tutto e da tutti.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Un po&#8217; di esperienza ormai ce l&#8217;ho, e di miracoli simili non ne ho mai visti: nel mercato vige la legge della giungla. Se ti adatti sei bravo a vai avanti, se ti ostini, beh allora R.I.P.+</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Da appassionato di Automotive e di Formula 1, non posso fare a meno di non commentare i fatti che stanno accadendo tra la F.I.A. (La Federazione Internazionale dell&#8217;Automobile) e la FOTA, l&#8217;associazione che comprende tutti i team che partecipano al Campionato Mondiale di Formula 1. La F.I.A., guidata da quel Max Mosley che e&#8217; assai piu&#8217; conosciuto per il festino sado-maso con transessuali che fini&#8217; su Youtube che per essere un grande manager, ha deciso che l&#8217;anno prossimo la F1 avra&#8217; un tetto massimo di spesa di 40 milioni di sterline. I team saranno ancora liberi di spenderne di piu&#8217; ma, qualora lo faranno, andranno incontro a limitazioni tecniche di varia natura, limitazioni che sono ancora da definire.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Max Mosley, a differenza del mio ex-CEO pero&#8217;, non e&#8217; uno che vede lontano e, purtroppo, non sa dove sta andando. Piuttosto sta inseguendo una strategia suicida arrivata non si sa bene da dove, che probabilmente cambiera&#8217; definitivamente e in modo drastico i connotati del piu&#8217; affascinante sport motoristico di sempre. Uno sport caratterizzato da eroi alla guida, da ricerca tecnologia portata all&#8217;estremo, da celebri (ormai leggendari) costruttori, con Ferrari in testa, e da tutto il resto. Una competizione fatta di millesimi di secondo, di variazioni tecniche impercettibili, di carichi aerodinamici, di propulsori di 2,4 litri che, frullando a 18.000 giri al minuto, generano potenze nell&#8217;ordine degli 800 cavalli! Un circus caratterizzato da rumori, puzza di bruciato, da belle ragazze ai paddock e da tanto lusso che fa invidia a tanta gente. Un altro pianeta insomma, che si e&#8217; sempre retto su enormi investimenti e su aziende che c&#8217;hanno sempre creduto e hanno sempre dato il massimo, nel bene e nel male.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">L&#8217;anno prossimo no! Max ha deciso che dopo 60 anni, questa cosa non va piu&#8217; bene. Max ha deciso di aprire le porte a una valanga di costruttori sconosciuti, gente che la F1 non sa nemmeno dove stia di casa e che arriva al punto di iscriversi in fretta e furia rubando i nomi a miti di questo sport, nomi come Lotus e Brabham.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">E se il buongiorno si vede dal mattino&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La FOTA si era unita come mai prima, dicendo a Max: &#8220;caro Sado-Max, cosi&#8217; non va. La Formula 1 e&#8217; uno sport di elite, dove la possibilita&#8217; d&#8217;investire e&#8217; la chiave per andare piu&#8217; forte, produrre tecnologia migliore e ottenere un alto ritorno dell&#8217;investimento&#8221;. Ma Sado-Max si e&#8217; indurito, ha iscritto d&#8217;ufficio le scuderie, che si sono incazzate come licantropi, e alla via cosi&#8217;.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ci sono state pero&#8217; due defezioni, due team che si sono iscritti volontariamente al Mondiale 2010, accettando tutte le condizioni. La Williams, un costruttore inglese di auto di Formula 1 (fa solo quello da sempre) e la Force India, che appartiene al magnate indiano Vijay Mallya, uno che di F1 non sa niente e non gliene frega una cippa, ma che ha pensato di usare uno scalcinato team per pubblicizzare la sua birra, che e&#8217; il vero business di cui si occupa. La Force India, con i vecchi regolamenti o con i nuovi e&#8217; e sara&#8217; sempre una scuderia mediocre, finche&#8217; sara&#8217; guidata dala stessa miope e insulsa strategia che l&#8217;ha condotta, finora, a non raccogliere nemmeno un punto mondiale.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La mossa della Williams non l&#8217;ho capita, almeno non del tutto: ha dichiarato di avere obblighi contrattuali da rispettare nei confronti degli sponsor. Beh? E gli altri? Passi per i costruttori, ma la McLaren, che pure fa solo quello da una vita, gli obblighi non ce li ha? Pero&#8217; la Williams la perdono, evidentemente la sua situazione economica e&#8217; compromessa, e non ha altri introiti se non la pubblicita&#8217;. E poi ha fatto tante di quelle belle cose negli ultimi trent&#8217;anni che, almeno per quel che mi riguarda, la sua reputazione resta immacolata. Sulla scia della Williams, invece, la Force India (che non vedeva l&#8217;ora), si e&#8217; fatta una fotocopia del comunicato stampa della scuderia inglese e l&#8217;ha rilasciato pari pari: &#8220;sapete&#8230; abbiamo gli obblighi&#8230;&#8221;. I soliti indiani della malora, che prima fanno i patti d&#8217;acciaio e poi, alla prima occasione, se poco poco gli conviene (o pensano gli convenga) ti piantano una coltellata nella schiena da manuale. Ormai li conosco bene, e non fanno altro che riconfermarsi come inaffidabili e traditori.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La verita&#8217; e&#8217; che la Force India rispecchia in pieno la Formula 1 di domani, quella che Sado-Max ora vuole a tutti i costi. Uno sport fatto da gente che non ne sa nulla, da scuderie mediocri, da piloti sconosciuti, da squadre che non dispongono dei budget necessari a sviluppare tecnologia, e nemmeno gli interessa, e che non dureranno nemmeno tre stagioni. Le scuderie serviranno solo a portare adesivi pubblicitari in giro, esattamente come accade nelle competizioni motoristiche americane, che sono inutili e noiose e non portano alcun beneficio alle automobili di tutti i giorni. Non faranno altro che passare di mano in mano, per vedersi acquistate da altri ricconi annoiati che devono inventarsi qualcosa per pubblicizzare il loro prodotto. E pensare che Redbull, in questi anni, ha creato un case study degno dei migliori master in economia! Da Redbull si dovrebbe imparare, invece che prendere esattamente la via opposta!</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">C&#8217;e&#8217; un problemino pero&#8217;: chi la guardera&#8217; la Formula 1 del 2010?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Intanto alla F.I.A. consiglio di cambiare nome in F.I.S.S.: Federazione Internazionale Scuderie Scadenti!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The <a href="http://www.f1.com">F1</a> civil war over the proposed budget cap has shaken the motorsport world in more ways than one. Not only have the incumbent teams been awoken from their extravagant slumbers, but the rest of the Formula racing world has been made aware of the opportunities that are opening at the pinnacle of motor racing.</p>
<p>With a total of ten teams having now submitted their entries into F1 for 2010, the grid could feasibly be made up of entirely new outfits, with the exception of <a href="http://www.williamsf1.com/">Williams</a> and <a href="http://www.forceindiaf1.com/">Force India</a> – two teams whose only business is Formula One and as such, their entire livelihood is dependent upon participation in the sport.</p>
<p>The ten teams who have submitted their cost-capped entry to Formula One for 2010 (including names like Lotus, <a href="http://www.prodrive.com/">Prodrive</a>, Brabham, March and <a href="http://www.lolacars.com/">Lola</a>) could make up the vast majority of a very different looking grid. With such a raft of new teams, questions remain over the funding of their participation.</p>
<p>If we suppose that the cap will remain at around the €45m mark, the TV revenues and prize money from FOM will cover the majority of the associated costs. What necessity then for sponsors of the participating teams? <a href="http://www.virgin.com/home.aspx">Virgin</a> has proven this year, even without a cost cap, that smart sponsors can invest in Formula One at a relatively low cost.</p>
<p>Irrespective of the level of commercial investment in the sport, however, the sponsors will still demand a return on investment that can only be achieved in Formula One. I believe that the role of agencies or in-house specialists in leveraging the sponsorship properties will be amplified to achieve these results. In the same way, I think that the rights holders themselves will have to allow far greater access to their assets to generate the return that they will demand.</p>
<p>If this is accurate, it could completely change the way that teams and sponsors interact. Previously investment in the team directly contributed to the development of the car and would therefore form part of their overall budget. Now, with the cap in place, less of the money from sponsors can or will go on car development – even less if the plans to place a ‘value in kind’ on supply deals also goes through. As such the teams will have to justify the spend on sponsorship as simply marketing spend, thereby placing even more emphasis on the return on investment expected.</p>
<p>In addition to this, the role of agencies will have more emphasis on the objectives of the organisation. WilliamsF1 claimed British Leyland as a sponsor in the 1980s. A seemingly unexpected sponsor of Formula One, Williams simply understood that the company wanted to have conversations with a key figure in the Russian Transport industry – another WilliamsF1 sponsor. The conversations were had and a deal was struck between the two sponsors, WilliamsF1 giving both companies the platform to achieve their objectives.</p>
<p>With money at a shortage and expectations ever growing, Formula One may well be in a position to exploit its global audience better now than ever before, but only if the spend can be justified by the returns.</p>

Después de cinco años consecutivos en el primer cajón, <strong>Audi </strong>pierde la hegemonía. <strong>Peugeot</strong> consigue su tercera victoria en <strong>Le Mans</strong> tras las de 1992 y 1993.</em></p>

<p>El equipo<strong> Peugeot Total</strong> formado por los pilotos <strong>Gené</strong>, <strong>Wurz</strong> y <strong>Brabham</strong>, consiguió la victoria con su <strong>908 HDi FAP</strong> diésel en la histórica prueba francesa. En una carrera dura y en la que hubo algunos incidentes, <strong>Peugeot </strong>terminó con la supremacía de Audi después de cinco años consecutivos en lo más alto del cajón.<br />

<strong>Olivier Quesnel</strong>, Director de Peugeot Sport, manifestó: “nos hemos enfrentado a un gran desafío y lo hemos superado con éxito. Nuestra misión aquí era tratar de vencer a los favoritos y es exactamente lo que hemos hecho, salvando todas las trampas potenciales que nos hemos ido encontrando por el camino. Ha sido una carrera terrorífica y ha quedado demostrado que Peugeot Sport es un equipo magnífico. Estoy muy orgulloso de todos los involucrados en este proyecto. Esta victoria es la victoria de Peugeot Sport”.</p>

<p>Las dos primeras posiciones fueron para los <strong>908 HDi FAP</strong> nº9 (<strong>Gené</strong>, <strong>Wurz</strong> y <strong>Brabham</strong>) y nº8 (<strong>Sarrazin</strong>, <strong>Montagn</strong>y y <strong>Bourdais</strong>), la tercera para el <strong>Audi R15 TDI</strong>, vehículo que debutaba este año, de<strong> Capello</strong>, <strong>Kristensen</strong> y <strong>McNish</strong>.</p>
<p>Los pilotos franceses del <strong>908 HDi</strong> nº8 fueron los primeros en liderar la carrera gracias al notable trabajo de <strong>Montagny</strong>, que se distanció de sus adversarios en el momento más caluroso de la carrera (28ºC), y a <strong>Sarrazin</strong>, autor de la Pole. Pero cuando <strong>Bourdais</strong> se puso a los mandos del deportivo, una pieza del disco se rompió, lo que le supuso perder 10 minutos en la reparación y por consiguiente, la primera plaza. Más tarde dañaría la parte delantera al colisionar. El tiempo empleado en sustituir la pieza supuso una vuelta perdida.</p>

<p>Con los problemas de sus compañeros, el Peugeot nº9 emprendió el camino hacia la victoria. Rapidez y regularidad es lo que mostraron los tres pilotos del monoplaza, que fueron incrementando la ventaja según pasaban las horas. &#8220;Haber ganado una prueba como ésta es lo mejor que me ha pasado nunca, sin duda el momento más feliz de mi vida como piloto,&#8221; ha dicho <strong>Marc Gené</strong> al bajarse de lo más alto del podio. &#8220;Nunca he experimentado nada igual. Es un momento muy emotivo para mí y me he emocionado tras cruzar la línea de meta. Ha sido una carrera al sprint y no se ha decidido la victoria hasta el final. Haber sido el primer español en ganar las míticas 24 Horas de Le Mans me enorgullece soy muy feliz&#8221;.</p>

<p>Por su parte, <strong>Audi</strong> se va de <strong>Le Mans</strong> con un sabor agridulce. Dulce porque es la undécima vez que sube al podio de forma consecutiva y agria porque pierde la hegemonía mostrada en los cinco años anteriores.</p>
<p>Los tres vehículos alemanes tuvieron problemas desde el principio. Los pilotos se quejaron del excesivo subviraje en la fase inicial de la carrera. Corregido el problema, surgió otro, los intercambiadores de calor de los pontones laterales se ensuciaban demasiado, por lo que tenían que ser limpiados frecuentemente. Además, el incremento de la temperatura de los intercooler hacía necesario reducir la potencia del motor.</p>

<p>El <strong>Audi R15</strong> de <strong>Luhr</strong>, <strong>Rockefeller</strong> y <strong>Werner</strong> sufrió un accidente en la “Curva Porsche”, por lo que tuvo que retirarse. El <strong>Audi </strong>de <strong>Bernhard</strong>, <strong>Dumas </strong>y <strong>Prémat</strong> bajó a las últimas posiciones al tener que sustituir la bomba de inyección de alta presión del motor.</p>
<p>El único vehículo que tuvo alguna posibilidad de subir al podio fue el de <strong>Capello</strong>, <strong>Kristensen</strong> y <strong>McNish</strong>, pero al cambiar la suspensión trasera perdieron un tiempo trascendental con el que se esfumó cualquier posibilidad de luchar por la primera posición.</p>
<p>“No hay ninguna duda de que la carrera no fue como habíamos imaginado”, aseguró el director de Audi Motorsport, el <strong>Dr Wolfgang Ullrich</strong>. “Una vez más hemos visto el por qué las 24 Horas de Le Mans es la carrera más dura del mundo, y que absolutamente todo debe estar perfecto si quieres conseguir la victoria. Indudablemente no ha sido nuestro caso esta vez. Hemos sufrido problemas inesperados con nuestro R15 TDI, que ahora analizaremos tranquilamente y debemos resolver. En cualquier caso, especialmente en la segunda mitad de la carrera, pudimos comprobar el potencial del coche. Trabajaremos sobre esta base antes de realizar un nuevo intento el año próximo”.</p>

Pois é. Os brasileiros terão uma oportunidade de ver estas máquinas de perto na Historic Formula 1, que chega a Interlagos, em São Paulo, no dia 16 de agosto.</p>
<p>A Historic F1 é disputada em um campeonato, ainda com poucas etapas. O certame começou no dia 26 de abril no circuito de Spa-Francorchamps, na Bélgica, outro templo do automobilismo mundial, e termina no dia 25 de outubro, em Jarama, na Espanha.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>            As I am sure many of you know, the deadline to submit applications for next year’s Formula One world championship has come and past. All of the FOTA member teams (with the exception of Williams, because they were kicked out of FOTA for having signed up earlier) lodged their entries with a conditional note attached. Basically, it states that if there is a budget cap for next season, all of their entries are null and void. This means that if the FIA still go ahead with a full budget cap, you will not see any Ferraris, BMWs, Renaults, McLarens or any other top teams like there are now. Instead of those old teams that seemingly no one cares about – according to Max Mosley – you fans will now have the pleasure of watching teams like Prodrive, Lola, Superfund, March, Campos, Litespeed and Brabham duel it out on the track and in your hearts! Wow, with names like those, who wouldn’t want to watch?</p>

<p>Oh that’s right, EVERYONE! I cannot believe this. First of all, this is basically an F3 field. Like other teams have asked before, there is already a GP2 series, so why would anyone want another? And who watches GP2? Ok, I admit, I watched one once, but it didn’t hold my attention BECAUSE I DIDN’T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE TEAMS!!! Does the FIA not realize that if they show up to the first race of the season next year with that list of teams and no major manufacturers, that they will lose money hand over foot? People will just migrate to other series and they will especially be watching a breakaway series that used to called F1 because it has Ferrari and McLaren and all their old friends dueling it out once more. This new Formula…whatever won’t work because people like history. Why does an M3 sell so well? A lot has to do with its history. Why is the Impreza still an icon (even though it looks terrible now)? Because of the history. If you are a car manufacturer and you come out with a new car that is supposed to be an icon, no one will pay it much attention because it won’t have any back story. There is no history with new things and people will especially pay no attention if that history moves on to another race series.</p>
<p>And with all of the talking and speculating, it has come out that it may have been Mosley himself who told the teams to hand in these conditional entries. Maybe he is trying to kill the sport by making these teams just up and leave. I know that I have stated in the past that it sure seems like Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley want to kill F1, but I never thought it would get this far. We will find out what is really going on when the list for next year’s entrants is released on June 12. Until then, let me just pose a question: What would you rather watch, a watered down version of F1 where there are no teams, racers or people you know, or a racing series that is all about technological innovation and the best drivers and cars in the world with names like Ferrari and Mercedes? I know which I would be watching.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Sir Jack Brabham and his family are taking legal action against the new F1 team which is to use the classic Brabham moniker.</p>
<p>Sir Jack, a former racer and owner of the tema bearing his namesake claims he has had no consultation whatsoever of the team being re-entered.</p>
<p>The team name is owned by a German called Franz Himmler, who bought a lot of Super Aguri&#8217;s assets and is a well known racing supporter.</p>
<p>The statement read: &#8220;Sir Jack Brabham and the Brabham family have expressed their surprise at the recent news reporting that an entry has been submitted for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship by Formtech with the intention of operating as Brabham Grand Prix Limited.</p>
<p>&#8220;The family would like to make it clear that they are in no way involved with Brabham Grand Prix Limited and received no consultation regarding the company&#8217;s plans to resurrect their historic name in Formula One.</p>
<p>&#8220;The family is taking legal advice and will take necessary steps to protect their name, reputation and its goodwill.&#8221;</p>

<p>A equipa Brabham confirmou a sua inscrição no Mundial de Fórmula 1 de 2010.</p>
<p>Após as primeiras notícias avançadas ontem pela imprensa, e que davam conta da inscrição do nome Brabham por intermédio de Franz Hilmer, uma declaração emitida hoje confirmou essa candidatura da histórica equipa.</p>
<p>A Formtech, de Hilmer, comprou todos os bens da antiga equipa Super Aguri, e agora tenta reactivar a equipa de Leafield, sob um dos nomes mais históricos da F1.</p>
<p>No comunicado pode ler-se que &#8220;A Brabham Grand Prix tem o prazer de anunciar a sua candidatura como uma equipa com orçamento limitado para o Mundial de Fórmula 1 de 2010. Estamos satisfeitos com as regras para limitar os orçamentos na F1 e estamos convictos de que essa é uma obrigação contemporânea e irá resultar numa revitalização do Mundial de Fórmula 1&#8243;.</p>
<p>O comunicado diz ainda que &#8220;Ficaríamos contentes em entrar na Fórmula 1 como uma equipa com orçamento limitado e ir ao encontro do desafio sob as novas regras&#8221;.</p>
<p>Se a candidatura for aceite para o Mundial de 2010, a equipa Brabham irá funcionar na fábrica de Leafield, com Hilmer a garantir que o orçamento para as duas temporadas seguintes já está quase certo.</p>

<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">Franz Hilmer, who bought the assets of the defunct Super Aguri outfit last year, has tied up with former staff from the Leafield-based outfit to try and compete in F1 next year.</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">In a statement issued on Thursday it was confirmed that Hilmer, who owns the previously talked about Formtech company, plans to run under cost cap regulations next year.</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">&#8220;The Brabham Grand Prix team has the pleasure to announce its application as a &#8216;Cost Cap Formula 1 Team&#8217; for the FIA 2010 Formula 1 World Championship,&#8221; explained the statement.</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">&#8220;We appreciate the FIA rules for cost capped F1 teams and are convinced that the budget limitation is a contemporary obligation, and will effect a revitalisation of the Formula 1 World Championship.</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">&#8220;We would be happy to enter into Formula 1 as a Cost Cap Team and to meet the challenge under the new rules.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">The team&#8217;s technical director will be Mark Preston, who had a similar role for Super Aguri. The outfit will also be based at the team&#8217;s former Leafield headquarters.</p>
<p style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:13px;color:#000000;line-height:18px;">Brabham claims that it has already secured a majority of its sponsorship requirements to compete from 2010 to 2012.</p>
