Os atores Brad Pitt e Angelina Jolie já estão acostumados com as notícias sobre eles, nos meios de comunicação. Mas, um explosivo livro, intitulado Brangelina Exposed, promete revelar, também, impactantes novos detalhes sobre a relação do casal.

O famoso jornalista de investigação, Ian Halperin, autor de uma das biografias mais vendidas sobre o falecido rei do pop, Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson, é o responsável pelo livro que deve chegar às lojas em dezembro deste ano.

Em sua narrativa, Ian revela como o casal manipulou, com sucesso, o público, baseado na crença de um encantador conto de fadas que guarda pouca semelhança com a realidade de sua vida em comum.

Segundo a Revista US Weekly, Halperin aborda em Brangelina Exposed detalhes de uma relação instável, o distanciamento de Angelina de seu pai Jon Voight, sua luta contra seus impulsos suicidas, seu consumo de heroína, suas proezas sexuais, além de aproveitar e revelar o verdadeiro motivo da separação de Pitt e Jennifer Aniston, por causa de Jolie.

Alejado completamente del chic-flick (que no fue una mala intervención vista en Death Proof) y con una propuesta que recuerda a sus días en Pulp Fiction mezclado con el deseo de impregnar la violencia estética en cada escena como en Kill Bill, Quentin Tarantino nos demuestra que de nuevo la esencia de su trabajo se encuentra en las situaciones saturadas de momentos que se prestan a las citas y a repetir los diálogos en conjunto luego de ver más de diez veces la misma parte.

Haciendo énfasis a lo que les comentaba sobre las situaciones, este no es un trabajo como Pulp Fiction. Inglorious Basterds no contiene un guión tan elaborado como en aquel 1994 sin embargo brilla con una luz propia; con esto no me refiero a que los diálogos son malos, más bien a que el peso de las situaciones no recae tanto en one-liners (que si hay muchos, como es costumbre en cada película del excéntrico cineasta) sino más bien a la crudeza del material violento mezclada con la ficción en el ambiente de la Francia en tiempos de ocupación nazi.

Esto tampoco se trata de Saving Private Ryan o Band of Brothers, el cliché que se siente en cada película basada en la segunda guerra mundial no está presente aquí porque no se trata de luchar por el honor de una nación, ni hermandad, salvar a alguien, y mucho menos ver la crudeza de la guerra o judíos torturados, no. Aquí se trata de una patrulla de judíos americanos haciendo lo que mejor saben hacer, matar tortuosamente a soldados nazis por el mero gusto de hacerlo, si hay una misión claro está pero eso solo es excusa para un frenesí de balas y nazis con el rostro cubierto de plomo.

De verdad que solo a Tarantino se le hubiera ocurrido un film así, aplaudo por ello, si yo fuera un sobreviviente de aquella época y encima fuera judío, creo que automáticamente esta película se convertiría en mi favorita. Judío o no, cualquiera que sea fanático del cine de serie B o incluso cualquier curioso que se pudiera sentir atraído por el título, disfrutará mucho cada uno de los minutos de la cinta.

Por supuesto hay material de complacencia para quienes seguimos y admiramos fervientemente el trabajo de Quentin pues hay cameos y ligeras intervenciones que serán rápidamente identificadas si se ha seguido minuciosamente las anteriores cintas del amo de la violencia en el cine (no les voy a decir qué tipo de apariciones se encontraran o de quien, pero como rápido y ligero spoiler les diré que Harvey Keitel y Samuel L. Jackson están un una pequeñísima intervención que solo lo notaran si escuchan con atención).

Por último solo me queda comentar, de manera muy personal, que la participación de Brad Pitt está ahí meramente como gancho comercial pues su acento sureño bien pudo realizarse con cualquier otro actor y no habría hecho falta pero bueh… con algo tiene que presentarse para no quedar con salas tan vacías.

En fin, ha nacido otra gran película de culto.

I just saw the opening of it yesterday. I am a sucker for every Quentin Tarantino film. I think this film was absolutly amazing. World War 2, brutality towards Nazis, Brad Pit, awesome brutal tommy gun scenes and Tarantino dialouge…it couldnt have gotten better then that. The opening scene was beyond amazing…I dont know how  QT does it. After walking out on a high from the movie my friends point out that Tarantino was walking right infront of us and was sitting only a couple seats away. Great way to end a great movie.

It’s official. I’m moving to New Orleans.

No, not because I love flashing my boobs for beads (it might be my favorite pastime, but I can do that right here in Ann Arbor) or eating beignets for every meal (Ok, maybe that’s part of it). I’m packing my things and hitting the road because rumor has it Brad Pitt might be running for Mayor.

Can I get a “hell yes!!”?

I didn’t think we could get a politician much hotter than the presidente, but it looks like the impossible is indeed possible. But Mayor-to-be Pitt is more than just a really freaking gorgeous face; he’d do wonders for the city of New Orleans. He’s already created a non-profit organization to help rebuild and his being mayor could do so much more.

1. He would Increase the population of New Orleans: One of the biggest problems facing New Orleans right now is the loss of population post Hurricane Katrina. What’s the best way to get people to come back (or come at all)? A hot mayor. I’m in, and I know about 10,000 other girls who’d be right behind me.

2. He would increase interest in politics: Do I watch political press conferences now? No. I’m too busy watching The Real World Cancun. Would I watch political press conferences if Brad Pitt was holding them? Three words: def.i.nitely.

3. City-Wide Unity: If anyone can pull a city together, it’s Brad Pitt. Especially with a policy of legalizing gay marriage and marijuana.

4. He would bring the attention back to the city: It’s been 4 years since Katrina and most of America has turned its attention to more current issues. But New Orleans is still suffering. If Pitt were running the show (or just walking around town without a shirt on….), the paparazzi/news/media would follow him and we’d all be reminded of what we can do to help the struggling city.

5. He would look hot behind a big, mahogany desk: What? That’s not a good enough reason?

Brad Pitt and his younger brother Doug have together made a contribution of 600,000 dollars to a university in Missouri to help its sporting arena land an eco-friendly title.

The Hollywood heartthrob and his sibling donated the amount to Drury University in their native Springfield to lend a helping hand to the institution’’s O”Reilly Family Event Center get a Gold Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) certification.

According to PerezHilton.com, the arena, now the first one to boast of the title, has “low-flow water fixtures, a dedicated recycling area and a solar-reflective roof and pavement materials”, reports Contactmusic.

And in a bid to recognise the generous efforts of the brothers, school officials have decided to rename the court of the arena after their father.

It is now to be called as the William A. Pitt Court.

Sad Panda is back…and apparently doing photo ops but the tourists were more interested in the Bull’s blue balls.  Sad Panda was also spotted on the 1 train at 86th Street in what seems to have been the most awkward train moment ever…which is saying something since a lot of shit goes down the train-por ejemplo-I celebrated a subway anniversary of sorts on May 5th…my 10th peen on the train!  Believe me when I say it’s an anniversary I could have done without.  And the hour and half I’m not getting back after waiting for the cops…who still haven’t called me back to ‘complete the file’.  Also, why do guys assume that if Brad Pitt was flashing on the subway that ladies wouldn’t mind?  Creepy unwanted peen on the subway is always creepy unwanted peen…no matter what the rest of the package looks like.  If a flasher looked like Brad Pitt it wouldn’t make the experience any less creepy or criminal.  It’s like finding out Megan Fox has crotch rot…Please stop making flashing and other sexual assaults a ‘hot-or-not’ crime.  (per comments section of this post on Deadspin)

Anyhoo, the Sad Panda succeeded in bringing everyone on the train down a few fun notches.  How can you not be sad when you see the Sad Panda?  What does the panda have to be happy about?  Raging unemployment?  Belonging to a species that is near extinction because of deforestation and pollution?  The fact that the white parts of his suit require constant care and cleaning?  That Bloomberg is about to start charging $0.05 for each plastic bag he’s so fond of carrying?  Do Sad Panda a favor and go downtown, grab some Pho, and get your picture taken with him.  Let him know he’s fabulous and the world needs him.
