Ah Wednesdays – mid week, half-way through, quite a friendly name for a day of the week and the day after Grazia pops through my door and gives me some food for thought. Must remember to eat tonight.

As most of you will know, or should know, Brad and Angelina have had another bust-up.

Apparently police were called to their house, and blah blah blah. We have heard it all before – this isn’t what I wanted to talk about on this post.

As I was reading it before I fell asleep last night, for one has to have some down time after researching local procurement in governments, I realised that what made the article weaker, asides from the fact that I wasn’t really that bothered about it was this bit:

“As the pictures showed Brad and Angelina looking noticeably strained and frosty hit news websites, bloggers immediately began to comment. One reader wrote, ‘They clearly don’t want to be there or near each other”, while another remarked, “They are so OVER!! They can’t even stand within 3ft of each other.”

What made this article weak for me was the use of the term bloggers. Apparently it still has negative connotations for me, even though I enjoy blogging. Is this the type of blogging that Richard Tait once mentioned in a lecture – pyjama clothed and ready for action? I think so..

But the fact that magazines such as Grazia are now relying on bloggers to pad out their features is interesting. Are they giving bloggers the credibility that they deserve? Or, are they just being lazy journalists in not seeking out more reliable sources, as Mr Fry suggested when he won his King of Twitter award a couple of weeks ago. If Grazia were able to attribute these comments to for example, a renowned celebrity blog, such as Perez Hilton it would add more weight to the feature, in my opinion.

The fact that these “bloggers” said something somewhere, doesn’t really mean anything apart from it creates a more personal feel to the feature. Perhaps by using bloggers comments, Grazia are trying to integrate themselves further into their readership.

But for me, it feels like we are back in the playground having a little gossip about something we don’t really know, that could have happened to someone, at some point.

Blogs, Twitter and Facebook are absolutely ace at bringing us information, leads and quirky stories that we wouldn’t necessarily find without them, but good sources and good writing are still paramount.

Just for the record, I am not in my pyjamas…yet.

Brangelina declared on war. Until recently they were not the people whose pap pictures you could constantly see. They have been down and quiet, possibly, for the reason of being tired of those damn paparazzi and for the reason that they should be not a casual treat but a rare delicacy. Seems like times have changed and now we are constantly fed with their happy or serene (depending on the occasion) faces. Not that we were asking for it.
The recent headline is Jolie hating Obama’s certain policy decisions and Brad disagreeing. Oh please. AS IF she would know. What is her education again?
So what we are all witnessing right now is that the Brad Pitt and the Angelina Jolie are trying hard to come back to where they belong as new and fresh have taken their places. Megan Fox, I assume, was the first irritation and now the Robsten. Robsten is the new Brangelina. Brangelina is old and into politics/charity/blablaBORING, and Robsten is steaming hot, teenage mad SEX.

That's how most see Angie these days (but most would still do her. 'She's Angeluina Jolie, for Christ's sake!')

And that's how ppl see Brand Pitt these days. Well, maybe just a bit younger, with a goatee and healthier hair. But already too old for under 30.

And THAT’s how people see Robsten:

They are young, sexy, fun and anticipation.

1.  Pitt, Jolie Now Not Fighting:

I assume some of you have patronized a grocery store or other business establishment that has checkout lines which feature king-sized Snickers (do regents eat candy bars?), phone cards, and tabloid magazines.  You know, then, that Brad and Angelina have been fighting, like, forever.  The National Enquirer, Star, Globe, Weekly News, Us, OK!, and others say so, thus it is undeniably true.  They employ Body Language Specialists and Psychologists and Experts and stuff to break down every frame of video and every still shot to tell us why we still need to be interested in Brangelina.

Here’s why: Brad has been sneaking visits to Jen.  Angelina has been sneaking visits to Jen.  Brad is getting tired of adding people to the household.  Angelina wants Brad to get back in shape.  Brad wants Angelina to revert to her otherworldly freakiness.  Brad has supradermal strombolis and has only three months to live, and still hasn’t had his Beyonce/Shakira threesome, and Angelina wants in so that would make it a foursome, which is totally not Brad’s fantasy.  The two have been battling bitterly for so long that we can no longer remember when they enjoyed each other’s company.  In fact, it’s quite possible they never loved each other, and their marriage and family and philanthropy and stuff have been a lengthy publicity stunt for Mr. and Mrs. Smith 2: The Dodging of Projectiles.

Well suck on this, haters.  Brad and Angelina were in public, at a gala, together, not fighting.  And these pictures are proof.  Ironclad, incontrovertible proof.  The click of a camera shutter, capturing literally hundredths of a second of their placid outing, showed no screaming, no hair pulling, no drink throwing.  Just mildly disinterested gazing at some walls and art.  By appearing for a few hours at each other’s side without mutual punchings, a husband and wife have finally put to rest the rumors of relationship turmoil.  Long live Brangelina.  All hail the rekindling of their romantic fire.

2. Chaz Bono Is A Dude:

Lots of folks get sex change operations.  But only one of them was Sonny and Cher’s child.  Which is why people care.  Born Chastity, Chaz Bono has been doing the talk show circuit to explain his reasoning, recount his experience (still ongoing), and raise awareness of gender identity in general.  As you can imagine, Chaz is getting a lot of crap from a lot of people who think that his decision is wrong and unnatural.  A lot of those same people have no problem with other “unnatural” medical procedures, as long as boobs are enlarged and aging bing-bongs once again function like a teenager’s (against God’s will, to paraphrase Patton Oswalt).  Like lots of these types of issues, it’ll be a big deal when it’s not a big deal.  The only problem any of us should have with his decision is the choice of the name “Chaz.”

3. New Moon Is Popular:

The next film installment in the Twilight Saga, New Moon, debuted at midnight Friday in lots of places.  Given that it has been the most talked-about movie-media-marketing phenomenon in recent memory, nothing about this film should be a surprise to anyone, anywhere.  It will make garbage barge-loads of cash (henceforth known as a “garbload”), certainly in the top five all-time.  Its intended audience will love it.  Critics will hate it.  Film writers: no one gives a shit about reviews when it comes to a movie like this.  It will be filled with overwrought acting; sappy, syrupy emotion and dialogue; and crappy special effects, given the budget.  Just like movies for adults!

4. Some Guy Touched a Ball With His Hands:

Ireland’s pretty bummed about France’s blatant “handball” (tee-hee!), which led to a goal that knocked Ireland out of the World Cup and got France in.  The problem is having a rule that says you can’t use your hands, people.

Thanks, entertainment media, for allowing me to sleep soundly knowing that Brangelina is back on when no one really thought Brangelina was off!

So it’s RUMORED that Brad “Billy Goat” Pitt apparently turned DOWN a cool $5 million to appear at the Grand Prix Ball Abu Dhambi in the United Arab Emirates, so that he could spend Halloween trailing after Angelina with his family.

He was expected to show up, but BAILED.

Awe. What a sweetheart though. Hell, I love my FAMILY, but I’d ditch family game night for $100 bucks if the opportunity ever arose.

I guess when you’re of OTHERWORLDLY status, 5 million ain’t no big THANG.

The Limited Edition collection named the “protector” was inspired by Angelina’s love of serpents which she considers a symbol of protection and perhaps stems from her time on set filming Alexander where she was reported to have spent days “getting to know the snakes.”

The collection prices start at just over £300 for a baby feeding spoon and include items such as gold and silver serpent pendants, bracelets, cuff links and rings along with a tooth box and egg cups from the baby range.

The “Protector” range will be available from luxury jeweler Asprey and will go on sale in their London, New York, Dubai, Tokyo and Beverley Hills stores later this week.

Proceeds will go to the Education Partnership For Children Of Conflict which Angelina co-founded in 2006 for educating child victims of war and natural disasters.

Brad and Angelina are the newest celebrities to try their hand at fashion design.

The couple has developed a limited-edition jewelry collection, named The Protector, for high-end jeweler Asprey.  All pieces are inspired by the snake, and prices start at $525.  The line is set to be unveiled in stores later this week.

Net proceeds from the jewelry will go to the charity that Angelina co-founded in 2006 – Education Partnership for Children in Conflict.

I’m joking when I say that Santa Angelina is a SNAKE. Jennifer Aniston overtook my SOUL and made me WRITE that.

Anyways, as charitable as the DYNAMIC duo are, they’re extending their fashion know how (well, Angelina’s) although I doubt vials of blood are HOT right now, by coming out with snake inspired jewelery through Asprey.

It’ll be called The Collector Protector, and prices will range from $525 and up.

Of course, all the proceeds will BENEFIT Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, or in other words the youth deprived children of both Jon & Kate and Octomom.

Non contente d’avoir humilié l’Inde en adoptant un enfant aux couleurs locales issu d’une famille pauvre, non contente d’avoir humilié le continent africain en adoptant un petit noir toujours issu d’une famille pauvre, Angelina Jolie a décidé d’humilier la Syrie en désirant adopter un petit syrien…

Il est probable que la représentante de la croix rouge, sachant que son pays était à deux doigts de bombarder l’Iran, ce qui provoquerait une guerre entre les USA, et cette région du globe, a décidé d’en sauver un, avant la catastrophe…

Pourquoi parle-t-on d’humiliation dans le cas de ces adoptions à répétition ?

Angelina qui, décidément n’a pas froid aux yeux est à la limite de l’ignoble, de l’abjecte…

Pourquoi ?

Souvenez-vous, il y a eu un ouragan dévastateur en Louisiane, et des cadavres flottaient, avec beaucoup d’enfants parmi tous ces morts, oui, des milliers de cadavres flottaient à la surface d’une eau nauséabonde, comme les pensées d’Angelina !

Qu’a-t-elle fait la belle Angelina ?

Rien ! Elle n’est même pas allée là-bas. Et pourtant la plupart de ces cadavres qui flottaient à la surface de l’eau étaient des gens de race noire, les quartiers noirs étant moins bien protégés que les quartiers  blancs bourgeois… Et tout le monde sait qu’il y a eu beaucoup d’orphelins dans cette tragédie, autant d’enfants noirs, issus de la grande misère, une misère tout aussi importante que celle qu’Angelina est allée dénicher en Inde, en Afrique, et bientôt en Syrie, et qu’Angélina a refusé de voir, car à aucun moment il n’a été question qu’elle adopte un bébé de Louisiane…

Décidément, Angelina Jolie, lorsqu’il s’agit de la pauvreté dans son pays, a tendance à devenir aveugle, alors que lorsqu’il s’agit de la misère des autres pays, passe son temps à la bombarder sous des projecteurs aussi puissants que le cyclone Katrina !

Elle aurait pu au moins faire une demande d’adoption pour un orphelin irakien, et Dieu sait s’ils sont nombreux là-bas. Mais comme son armée occupe le territoire, peut-être a-t-elle eu peur d’offusquer le gouvernement local, ou son propre gouvernement, vu que c’est la même chose…

Avant de clore le dossier, Angelina aurait des prétentions politiques, certaines rumeurs circulent également, mais ce ne sont que des rumeurs, des rumeurs selon lesquelles, ce serait des nounous qui élèveraient la famille Jolie !

Mais ce ne sont que des rumeurs bien entendu !

Para los que no estaban enterados, un sujeto llamado Ian Halperin está a punto de lanzar un libro acerca de las vidas de Brad Pitt y Angelina Jolie. Pues bien, en una parte del libro, se dice que Angelina orquestó un plan maléfico para poder poner sus garras sobre Brad. Supuestamente Angie, su hermano y su manager empezaron a sembrar historias falsas sobre Jennifer Aniston en los tabloides desde el 2005 con tal de que su matrimonio con Brad se fuera al carajo. La mayoría de historias eran acerca de que a Jen le interesaba más su carrera que tener hijos, lo cual era lo opuesto a lo que Brad quería. Angelina sabía que si hacía ver a Jennifer como la mala del cuento, nadie le diría zorra robamaridos.

Vaya, esta historia es tan descabellada que suena a película de Disney, sin embargo, en Hollywood todo es posible así que realmente no sé qué pensar. Por un lado, Jennifer me parece más molesta que un vendedor de puerta en puerta, así que creo que si alguien alejó a Brad fue ella. Pero por otro, Angelina siempre me ha dado la impresión de que es todo bondad cuando visita países africanos y adopta a cuanto infante se le atraviesa, pero algo me dice que en realidad es fría y calculadora y probablemente tiene guardados en su clóset un caldero, una escoba y un sombrero de pico. En fin, creo que la verdad nunca la sabremos.

Word has it that Angelina Jolie is taking steps to adopt a child from Syria. (Rumor also has it this is a solo venture. Does that imply she and Brad are breaking up? A topic for another day.)

If she succeeds, the new kid will join Maddox, Pax, Zahara (the adopted Pitt-Jolies), Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne (the biologicals), and will send the celebrity rags into a tizzy! (Hey, it’s been a while since we got a new Pitt-Jolie.)

The books we covered were mostly in the “classic” Hollywood camp (Doris Day, Grace Kelly), but you’re in luck if you’d rather read about contemporary movie stars. December 1, Transit Publishing (the force that brought us Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson) will release Brangelina: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie by celebrity journalist Ian Halperin (also the author of Unmasked). The small Montreal-based publishing house is hoping for a hit—Brangelina will have a 100,000 copy first printing.

According to Transit, the book will include “exclusive revelations and personal anecdotes.”  Get ready for “shocking new information about superstar Jolie” and “startling discoveries about [her] past.”

Also look out for Kiefer Sutherland: Living Dangerously in January 2010 and Little Girl Lost: Money, Fame and Britney Spears in April, both from Transit.
