Haunted House Creations is a haunted house prop and special effects shop based in Toronto that specializes in the creation of pretty much anything you would find in your favorite haunted house. From zombies to bats, prisoners being electrocuted to an obese chef swaying with a plate of brain food. There’s nothing they can’t do, and at a quality you won’t believe.

They asked me to design a new look and feel for the company with a new logo, business cards and tees for their re-launch at the ScareFest convention that happened this past weekend. I was more than happy to oblige and below is the final outcome of the weeks of work.

The brilliant folks at 21 Tanks asked me design the cover of their new e-book entitled “Do Ideas” a while back, and it was finally launched on Friday.

If you’ve ever had an idea or a thought to do something and just never get around to doing it, then give this book a read and it might just be the kickstart you needed. A truly inspiring book with some great words of advice and wisdom from people that are involved with entertainment, banking, media, engineering and all walks of life.

Haunted Tattoos are an awesome London-based tattoo studio with some amazing artists. Not only have they got the well know upright bass player Strangy working at the shop, they also have one of the best guys to go to for any new school horror work, Allan Graves. The rest of the guys in the shop are all top notch with some great lettering work from Alex Young, amazing black and grey from Scott Move and some top-notch classic old school from Al Boy.

If you’re ever in town make sure you pop in to the shop. It’s an amazing looking shop with some killer art all over the walls.

So the morning after watching one of Canada’s best hardcore bands, Comeback Kid, I sat down and let the pencil do what it does best. With no real idea in mind, I knew I wanted to do something with a coffin and a rooster, and before long it all started to come together, and the lyrics from one of Comeback Kid’s songs “Wake The Silence, Wake The Dead” just seemed to fit perfectly with the subject matter and so a couple of days later my ode to Comeback Kid was finished.

I am really happy with the outcome and this, along with a new “Tiki Lounge” pinstriped original, will be on show at the exhibition which takes place this Thursday evening, the 3rd of May at The Press Club in Toronto. Both pieces will be on auction alongside some really brilliant artists from Toronto and the rest of the world.

This Tiki Lounge piece was one of the panels I completed over the weekend and I shall post some more over the next week or two.

The brand new MegaSpeed Custom Car & Truck Show will be taking place in a week and a half’s time right here in Toronto and I will be smack in the middle of it all pinstriping and painting some panels alongside some of Canada best pinstripers.
