THE POWER OF SPEECH – Mother of children

Speech is a “mother of children” (Psalms 113:9) . Just as a mother always stays with her child and never forgets him even if he goes to the filthiest of places, so the power of speech never leaves a person even if he finds himself in the filthiest of places.

Even one who has sunk to the lowest level can always remind himself of G-d’s presence if he speaks words of holiness: Torah and prayer. Regardless of his situation, he should try to speak words of Torah and prayer, meditate and speak to G-d, and he should discuss matters of faith with his teacher and friends. This way he will always be able to remind himself of G-d’s presence regardless of how far he is from G-d, even if he falls to the “filthy places”. His faculty of speech will not desert him, and he will never be able to forget G-d.

Understand the tremendous power of speech. It can save you from destruction.

THE POWER OF SPEECH – The hammer

A certain king sent his son far away to study. The son eventually returned to the king’s palace fully versed in all the arts and sciences. One day the king told his son to take a particular stone that was as big as a millstone and bring it up to the top floor of the palace. But the stone was so heavy that the prince could not even lift it up. He was very upset that he could not fulfill his father’s wish.

Eventually the king said to his son, “Did you really imagine that I meant you to do the impossible and carry the stone just as it is up there? Even with all your wisdom, how were you supposed to do such a thing? That was not what I meant. I wanted you to take a big hammer and smash the stone into little pieces. This is how you will be able to bring it up to the top floor.”

In the same way, G-d commands us to “lift our heart with our hands up to G-d in the heavens” (Lamentations 3:41 ) . Our heart is a “heart of stone” (Ezekiel 36:26) , a very heavy stone. There is no possible way to raise it to G-d except by taking a hammer and breaking and smashing the heart of stone.

The “hammer” is speech!

THE POWER OF SPEECH – Guard your tongue

Speech is the breath of the lips of the Holy One, blessed be He. To abuse it is to turn it into a “raging storm wind” (Psalms 148:8). This raging storm wind is the great accuser – the source of all man’s trials and challenges. This wild spirit erodes man’s very flesh. It is the root of all the slander, falsehood and evil that people speak about each other. It is called the “end of all flesh” (Genesis 6:13 ) because it wastes and destroys man’s flesh and his very life. All this is the result of abusing speech.

THE POWER OF SPEECH – Guard your tongue

Speaking derogatorily about other people reinforces the hold of fantasy and illusion over us. When people use bad language and speak derogatorily about others, their spiritual awareness and understanding are withdrawn from them and they fall from the love of G-d and descend into animalistic passions and desires. The source of these passions and desires is man’s faculty of imagination, which is part of his animal nature. Imagination feeds on falsehood and slander and is directly opposed to the faculty of memory with which we keep our true situation in this life and our eternal destiny in the forefront of our minds.

Those who abuse language fall into forgetfulness, which is the death of the heart. Their heart dies within them and they never remember that the true goal of our life in this world is the eternal life of the world to come. Such people are dead even in their lifetime, because they have no conception of their true goal and purpose.

THE POWER OF SPEECH – Guard your tongue

Never let a word of wickedness leave your mouth. Don’t ever say you will be wicked or commit a sin, even if you mean it as a joke and have no intention of carrying out your words.

The words themselves can be very damaging. They can compel you to fulfill them even though you did not mean them seriously.

This was what caused King Jehu’s downfall, because he said, “Ahab served Baal a little, but Jehu will serve him very much” ( II Kings 10:18 ). When King Jehu said these words, he had no intention of committing idolatry. He said them only to trick the Baal worshipers, as explained in the following verse. Yet these words were his downfall, because he later came to commit idolatry.

From this the Talmud learns that “a covenant is made with the lips” ( Sanhedrin 102a). You should therefore be very careful about what you say.

THE POWER OF SPEECH

Prayer must be spoken out in actual words – literally. It is not enough to think the prayers. It is true that G-d knows what we are thinking. But the words have to be spoken, because speech is the vessel with which we receive the flow of blessings. According to our words, so is the blessing we receive.

One who perfects his speech can receive abundant blessings through the vessels he forms with his words. This is why we must actually articulate our prayers with our mouths.

Marie, in Polish Maria Leszczynska (b. June 23, 1703, Breslau, Silesia, now Wroclaw, Pol.—d, June 24, 1768, Versailles, Fr.), queen consort of King Louis XV of France (ruled 1715-74). Although she had no direct influence on French politics, her Polish dynastic connections involved France in a European conflict that resulted in the eventual annexation of Lorraine by France.

Marie’s father, Stanislaw I of Poland in 1704. After he was deposed in 1709, he settled with Marie at Wissembourg. In the hope of quickly obtaining an heir to the French throne, Louise XV’s chief minister, the Duc de Bourbon, betrothed the 15-year-old king to Marie in 1725.

The marriage took place at Fontainebleau on September 5, Marie bore Louis 10 children between 1727 and 1737, but only one of her two sons—the dauphin Louis—survived infancy. In 1733 France entered the War of the Polish Succession against Austria in support of Stanislaw’s claims to the Polish throne; Stanislaw was made duke of Lorraine byt the treaty that ended the conflict (1738). Meanwhile, Louise XV, having lost interest in his queen, was lavishing his attentions on a succession of mistresses. Marie’s marital unhappiness was intensified by the death of the Dauphin in 1765. In accordance with the treaty of 1738, Lorraine became a part of France when her father died in the following year. A. Leroy’s Marie Leczinska appeared in 1940.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – When Mashiach comes

There are certainly worthy people who do not practice Hitbodedut. But I call them confused. When Mashiach suddenly comes and calls them, they will be disoriented and confused.

But those who practice Hitbodedut will be like a person who wakes up from a restful sleep with a calm, settled mind. This is how we will be when Mashiach comes: our minds will be calm and settled, without panic or confusion.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – Water wears away stone

Even if many days and years pass and it seems as if you have accomplished nothing with your prayers and conversations with G-d, don’t give up! Every single word makes an impression.

“Water wears away stone” (Job 14: 19 ) . It may seem that water dripping on hard stone could not make any impression, yet when water drips on stone continuously for many years, it can literally wear a hole in the stone. We actually see this.

Even if your heart is like stone and it seems that your words of prayer are making no impression at all, still, as the days and years pass, your heart of stone will also be softened. For: “Water wears away stone”.

Trecho 19 - Wroclaw (Polonia) / Hanko (Finlândia)

Olá amigos,

Um vôo absolutamente inesquecível. Não pelo vôo em si, mas pela conversa simplesmente incrível que eu mantive com o húngaro Ivan Rado e que relatarei adiante.

Vamos ao Diário de Bordo: decolagem dia 12/09/2009, às 20hs15min, hora local (+5hs em relação a Brasilia – DF), distância percorrida 563,9 nm, HDG: 017, tempo de vôo: 2hs30min. O tempo manteve-se firme, sem alterações bruscas, como inclusive confirmado por controladores da área. Wind 300/357 e 04/00mag, com poucas nuvens. Velocidade média no percurso: 230 kias.

Fiquei impressionado com o grande número de controladores no Squawbox, mesmo antes da decolagem:

Jorg Haensel (EDDC_APP), Frank Sasse (EDGG_S_CTR), Florian Harms (EDWW_A_CTR), todos alemães; Artur Grabski (EPKK_APP), Micha Borowiecki (EPKK_TWR), Maciej Lapoc (EPWW_S_CTR), da Polônia; Jachym Vohryzek (LKAA_CTR), Radomir Vancek (LKPR_TWR) da República Tcheca; Daniel Conrad (LOVV_CTR) da Austria e finalmente Jurg Gaensli (LSAS_A_CTR) da Suiça. Outros controladores também marcaram presença, mas, sinceramente não consegui anotar seus nomes.

O piloto Micha Borzykowski tem 28 anos e é músico profissional. Seu instrumento preferido é o violoncelo. Mora em Varsóvia. Quando lhe disse que estava dando a Volta ao Mundo e lhe disse que havia estado em Wroclaw, ele me perguntou por que não em Varsóvia. Expliquei que preferia cidades menores e ele me lembrou que Wroclaw tem mais de 600 mil habitantes. É fato. Porém, em um post sobre o planejamento dessa viagem, expliquei a dificuldade que enfrentei ao identificar nomes de cidades no Google Earth escrito na sua língua nativa. Por isso, confesso minha ignorância: confundi Birkenau com Breslau. Birkenau é bem pequena. Mea culpa. Em outubro, Micha começará a dar aula na Universidade de Varsóvia. Toda a sorte do mundo para você, amigo Micha.

Mas a melhor conversa que eu mantive online até hoje, considerando-se os 19 trechos vencidos desta Volta ao Mundo foi com o húngaro Ivan Rado (LHCC_CTR) que mora em Budapest. Normalmente, quando chamo outra pessoa para conversar, faço algumas perguntas básicas, do tipo, qual o nome, de onde é, quantos anos tem etc. Pois bem, ao perguntar a Ivan quantos anos tinha, ele me respondeu que i’m a pretty old, algo como sou um velho bonito, sou um velho legal. Insisti com ele, mas, nada. Contei-lhe minha idade (45 anos) e perguntei-lhe se era mais velho que eu. Disse que não. Quando lhe perguntei então a sua profissão, ele realmente mostrou sua veia brincalhona. Fez muito mistério. Comecei então a dar palpites: médico? Engenheiro? Advogado? E ele sem responder. Perguntei então se ele era um agente secreto? Ele continuou firme, em suas respostas evasivas. Então resolvi jogar uma última cartada: perguntei se ele era um ET. E ele confessou: era um ET em pessoa. Há muito tempo não ria tanto. Conversamos mais de uma hora. Quando lhe disse que morava em uma cidade do interior do Brasil, ele me perguntou que tipo de animais tinhamos aqui. Entendi na hora o sentido da pergunta. O europeu tem do Brasil a mesma imagem que temos da África. Quando lhe expliquei que temos apenas gado e nenhum animal selvagem ele pareceu não acreditar. Perguntei-lhe, então, qual a imagem que lhe vem à cabeça quando pensa no Brasil. A resposta veio rápida: selva, animais selvagens, futebol e belas mulheres. Pode parecer chocante, mas essa é a imagem que o europeu médio tem do Brasil. Expliquei-lhe que o Brasil tem muito mais do que isso, e que a selva (amazônica) ocupa apenas parte da região norte do Brasil. Espero tê-lo convencido.

Com muito custo e depois de muitas tentativas frustadas consegui arrancar de Ivan Rado a sua idade: 46 anos. Mas, nada de descobrir a sua profissão. Quando, em determinado momento, ele me respondeu com um bueno, expliquei-lhe que bueno é espanhol, e bom é português. Mostrei-lhe então algumas frases em português e sua respectiva tradução para o inglês. E ele ia traduzindo para a sua língua nativa. Como Ivan é muito brincalhão, não me atrevo a escrever aqui as palavras que ele escreveu em húngaro. E só no final, depois que eu havia fechado a janela de chat, após mais de uma hora de conversa, Ivan contou: faz trabalhos para o governo. Pedi-lhe que visitasse o blog e contasse qual tipo de seu trabalho. Sinceramente? Duvido que ele conte.

Uma observação sobre as fotografias deste trecho. Usei hoje pela primeira vez o programa Fraps2.9, na tentativa de melhorar a qualidade das imagens, bem como poder gravar alguns vídeos do vôo. Infelizmente, ainda não consegui configurá-lo a contento, pois, a janela do squawbox bem como a do transponder desapareceram das fotos, apesar de eu ter permanecido online durante todo o percurso. Tentarei resolver isso para o próximo trecho.

Já no solo: aeroporto de Hanko é bem simples e sua pista curta exige habilidade para pouso visual

Enquanto eu não consigo configurar a contento o Fraps2.9, para colocar aqui alguns vídeos dos meus vôos, resolvi dar uma pequena amostra para vocês, com o excelente vídeo feito pelo Cmte JHConfuso (que não minha opinião, de confuso não tem nada, é muito inteligente e bem orientado), no Aeroporto Princess Juliana, de St Marteen, que foi uma das escalas da Volta ao Mundo:

A República da Finlândia é um dos cinco paises nórdicos da Europa. Os outros são Noruega, Suécia, Dinamarca e Islândia. A Finlândia possui duas línguas oficiais: o sueco e o finlandês. Na primeira, a Finlândia é chamada de Finland, e na segunda, Suomi. Entretanto, cerca de 90% da população fala apenas o finlandês. Possui cerca de 5,3 milhões de habitantes (censo de 2007). Fiquei surpreso com a extensão territorial da Finlândia (vide mapa abaixo): é o sexto maior país da Europa, mas concentra a maioria de sua população no sul, no Golfo da Finlândia. Sua densidade populacional é a menor da União Européia: apenas 15 habitantes por quilômetro quadrado.

Um dos mais intrigantes fenômenos da natureza é a Aurora Boreal. Chamada de Boreal nas proximidades do círculo polar ártico e austral no círculo polar antártico, é um fenômeno visto geralmente ao entardecer ou durante a noite. Sua formação se deve ao contato dos ventos solares com o campo magnético da Terra. A Finlândia é um dos países de onde se pode observar este incrível fenômeno da natureza. Quando escrevia este blog, inseri no rascunho as cinco imagens abaixo, para depois, decidir qual delas permaneceria. Não tive coragem de retirar nenhuma delas, tamanha a sua beleza.

Aurora Boreal: um dos mais fascinantes e impressionantes fenômenos da natureza

Hanko é uma pequena cidade a cerca de 130 km de Helsinki localizada no sul da Finlândia. Tem cerca de 10 mil habitantes. A vegetação predominante é formada por pinheiros e arbustos. O maior evento do verão em Hanko é a Hangon Regatta. Nessa ocasião, os entusiastas da vela misturam-se alegremente nas ruas da cidades com os mais jovens que buscam apenas as festas e beber. Grande parte da população da cidade não aprova o comportamento dos jovens, por considerar os enormes gastos com a limpeza da cidade após tal evento.

A história de Hanko remonta ao século XV, quando foi descoberta por marinheiros suecos. Em virtude de sua posição estratégica, Hanko foi palco de diversas batalhas ao longo da sua existência. Uma das mais famosas ocorreu em 1714, no arquipélago norte da península, envolvendo as frotas sueca e russa, marcando a primeira vitória desta em águas internacionais.

But the best conversation I kept online until today, considering the 19 legs this Around the World was with the Hungarian Ivan Rado (LHCC_CTR) who lives in Budapest. Normally, when I call someone else to talk, do some basic questions, like, what is the name, where are you from, how old are you etc.. Well, when I asked Ivan how old he was, he told me that I’m a pretty old. I urged him, but nothing. I told him my age (45 years old) and asked him if he was older than me. Said no. When I asked him his profession, he really showed his playful vein. Made a lot of mystery. I began to make suggestions: MD? Engineer? Lawyer? And he said nothing. I then asked if he was a secret agent? He remained firm in their evasive answers. So I decided to play one last attempt: I asked if he was an ET. And he confessed, was an ET in person. A Long time I not laughing so much. We talked for over an hour. When I told him that lived in a small town in Brazil, he asked me what kind of animals we had here. I understood at the time the meaning of the question. The European has of Brazil the same image we have of Africa. When I explained we only have com, no wild animal, he seemed not to believe. I asked him then what image comes to mind when he think about Brazil. The answer came quickly: jungle, wildlife, football and beautiful women. With great difficulty and after many failed attempts I could boot from Ivan Rado your age: 46 years. But, not to discover their profession. When, at one point, he replied with a bueno, explained to him that bueno is Spanish, and in Portuguese is good. I then showed him a few phrases in Portuguese and their translations into English. And he was translating into their native language. As Ivan is very playful, I dare not write here the words he wrote in Hungarian. And only at the end, after I had closed the chat window, after more than one hour of conversation, Ivan said: it works for the government. I asked him to visit the blog and tell what kind of work. Honestly? I doubt it counts.

A note on the photos of this leg. I used today for the first time the program Fraps2.9 in an attempt to improve the quality of images and can record some videos of the flight. Unfortunately, we could not set it satisfactorily, because the window squawbox and the transponder of the photos disappeared, although I have remained online during the entire journey. I will try to resolve it to the next leg.

The Republic of Finland is one of the five Nordic countries of Europe. The others are Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. Finland has two official languages: Swedish and Finnish. Hanko is a small town about 130 km from Helsinki in the south of Finland. It has about 10 thousand inhabitants. The predominant vegetation consists of trees and shrubs. The biggest summer event in Hanko is Hangon Regatta. On that occasion, sailing enthusiasts mingle happily in the streets of cities with young people who seek only the parties and drinking. Much of the city’s population does not approve the behavior of young people, considering the huge expense of cleaning the city after such an event.

Hanko’s history dates back to the fifteenth century, when it was discovered by Swedish sailors. Because of its strategic position, Hanko was the scene of several battles throughout its existence. One of the most famous occurred in 1714 in the archipelago north of the peninsula, involving the Swedish and Russian fleets, marking the first victory of international waters.

Quando eu comecei o planejamento para essa volta ao mundo em vôo simulado eu lhes contei que tive a preocupação, entre outras tantas, de se possível, visitar locais com algum interesse histórico. Pois bem, a Polônia é um país que por suas características não poderia ficar de fora.

Entretanto, antes de entrar no Diário de Bordo, gostaria de registrar alguns agradecimentos. À Bruno Lima, da American Airlines Brasil, que gentilmente inseriu um banner do Blog do Merola na página daquela companhia (no nosso blog, o link para a American está na seção Para FS2004). O mesmo fez Bruna Barreto, na sua página de orkut, que tem acompanhado a aventura desde o início. O Fórum da Vatsim Brasil gentilmente permitiu que eu abrisse um tópico para noticiar a Volta ao Mundo, na seção Discussões Gerais – Vatsim Brasil. Obrigado, por isso, a André Penalva (link na seção Para FS2004). Eric Guzman, norte-americano, teceu comentários que me deixaram muito feliz em um Fórum da Vatsim no Caribe. O link para você conferir os comentários está na seção Miscelândia. Finalmente, o suiço Steve Feigenwinter incluiu um link deste Blog em seu Facebook. Além disso, um grande número de adeptos ou somente entusiastas do vôo virtual online tem visitado o Blog, o que, evidentemente me deixa muito feliz. Obrigado a todos.

Infelizmente esta perna da viagem iniciou no dia 10/09/2009, às 16hs58min (hora local - +5hs em relação a Brasília – DF), mas foi interrompida em virtude de falha da minha conexão de internet. Culpa do meu provedor, que promete mas não fornece um serviço de qualidade. Entretanto, com exceção do tempo de vôo, reuni as informações em um único Diário de Bordo.

Diário de Bordo: a decolagem aconteceu pela segunda vez em 11/09/2009, às 17hs35min (hora local), origem em Plesno Airport (LDZA), em Zagreb, capital da Croácia com destino a Strachowice (EPWR), aeroporto de Wroclaw (Breslau), Polônia. HDG: 004, distância percorrida: 323,7 nm, com aterrizagem às 19hs, perfazendo 1h25min de vôo, com velocidade média em 230 kias. As condições atmosféricas colaboraram tanto no dia 10, quanto no dia 11, variando wind entre 30/300 e direção 09/03mag, mas, sem mudanças abruptas.

Vários controladores marcaram presença nos dois dias: Balint Rigo (LZBB_CTR, Vrsac, Servia e Montenegro), Martin Elshuber (detalhes a seguir), Michal Ogrodowski (EPWW_S_CTR, Polônia), Peter Zelen (LZIB_APP, Bratislava, Eslováquia), Gabor Korodi (LHBP_APP, Budapest, Hungria), Daniel Rachberger (LOWL_APP, Lins, Austria), Axel Westermark (ESOS_CTR, Estocolomo, Suécia), Alen Swiriko (LDZO_CTR, Udbina, Croacia) e finalmente Hakan Schulz (ESOS_M_CTR, Estocolomo, Suécia).

Registrei ainda diversos pilotos de várias nacionalidades, mas, principalmente húngaros e do leste europeu. Citarei alguns: Zsolt Nedeczki (BPA1066) de Budapest, Hungria; Jioi Simon (FRR230) de Praga, República Tcheca; NYL443L; CSA855; MAH668; AUA9807; MAH672 (Robert Erdos, de Budapest, Hungria); AUA66ZD; DXB_FOX. Com vários eu apenas mantive contato via radar, por isso, não pude identificar seus nomes.

Martin Elshuber é austríaco e mora em Vienna. Tem 28 anos e trabalha com informática em uma universidade. Entretanto, não tem web page. Mesmo enquanto conversávamos via chat, Martin visitava este blog e tecia interessantes comentários. Ele disse que já se encontrou com Steve Feigenwinter no ATC. Minha rota passava exatamente sobre o moderno aeroporto de Vienna, e Martin me alertou do fato. As belas fotos abaixo mostram vários aviões em procedimento de taxi no aeroporto quando da minha passagem.

Tamaz Galyassy é hungaro e mora em Budapest. Seu Callsign é MAH667. Tem 39 anos e é oficial de polícia em seu país. Quando o chamei para conversar via chat, ele me respondeu em português com um como está? Estranhei e perguntei-lhe se falava português. Tamaz esclareceu: fala apenas poucas frases aprendidas com Julian Sepulveda (o nome vai como ele escreveu), com quem se encontrou há algum tempo, quando o brasileiro fazia uma volta ao mundo, como esta. Por isso, se você conhece o piloto Julian Sepulveda, transmita-lhes os cumprimentos do Tamaz.

Bela Onodi (Callsign: MAH831), tem 55 anos e é aposentado. Mora em Szekesfehervar (eu conferi: o nome da cidade é exatamente assim…), a 60 quilômetros de Budapest. Conversando com ele, falei que o nome Bela no Brasil é feminino. Como estávamos no chat não era possível ouvir-lhe a voz. Perguntei-lhe então se era homem ou mulher. Bela é homem. Ele afirmou que raras vezes cruzou com mulheres pelos céus virtuais. Eu nunca me encontrei com uma mulher no FS. Será que essa é a última fronteira masculina? Com a palavra, as mulheres…

A Polônia (ou Polska, em sua língua nativa) possui cerca de 38 milhões de habitantes, concentrados principalmente em grandes cidades como a capital Varsóvia e Cracóvia. Sua língua oficial é o polaco e sua forma de governo é República Parlamentarista. Sua posição geográfica, espremida entre grandes potências da primeira metade do século passado (Alemanha e União Soviética) lhe causou grandes problemas, inclusive com a invasão de seu território durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, quando seu nome foi literalmente riscado do mapa.

Breslau ou Wroclaw é uma grande cidade com mais de 640 mil habitantes, localizada às margens do Rio Oder, a 350 km de Varsóvia. É sede de numerosas industrias e instituições de ensino superior e sua origem remonta ao século X, quando foi fundado o episcopado de Wroclaw.

The weather cooperated on both 10, and in 11 days, ranging between 30/300 and wind direction 09/03mag, but without abrupt changes.

Several drivers featured in the two days: Balint Rigo (LZBB_CTR, Vrsac, Serbia and Montenegro), Martin Elshuber (details below), Michal Ogrodowski (EPWW_S_CTR, Poland), Peter Zelen (LZIB_APP, Bratislava, Slovakia), Gabor korodi (LHBP_APP , Budapest, Hungary), Daniel Rachberger (LOWL_APP, Lins, Austria), Axel Westermark (ESOS_CTR, Stockholm, Sweden), Alen Swiriko (LDZO_CTR, Udbina, Croatia) and finally Hakan Schulz (ESOS_M_CTR, Stockholm, Sweden).

The main time for Hitbodedut is at night. Seclude yourself and express yourself to G-d. Speak with all your heart and search out the goodness in your soul. Find the good points that are inside you and cleanse them of all evil until you pour out your heart like water before G-d. This is the way to subdue all lust and desire and attain true happiness. You will develop a good memory, and thus you will constantly remember the world to come, never losing sight of the end goal and purpose of this life. This is the way to repent and return to G-d.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – Hitbodedut at night

The best time for Hitbodedut is at night , when everyone is asleep. Ideally you should go to a place outside the city and follow a solitary path where people don’t even go during the day.

Empty your heart and mind of all your mundane preoccupations and then work to nullify all your negative traits, one after the other, until in the end you nullify all sense of self completely. First work on one character trait, then another and another, until you reach the point where you are free of any self-centeredness and any sense of independent existence.

You must be as nothing in your own eyes. Then you will be worthy of attaining true self-nullification and your soul will be merged with its root. The whole universe will be merged with you in your Source. You and everything with you will be merged in the Unity of G-d.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – Your own place

It is very good to have your own room where you can be alone and engage in Torah study, prayer, meditation and private conversation with G-d. Even just to sit in such a room is also highly beneficial.

If you do not have your own room, you can still seclude yourself and talk to G-d. You can make your own room under your Tallit. Just drape your Tallit over your eyes and speak to G-d as much as you desire.

You can also seclude yourself with G-d when you lie in bed under the covers. This was King David’s custom, as it is written: “Each night I converse from my bed” (Psalms 6:7).

You can also sit down with some book and let others imagine you are studying when in fact you are speaking to G-d. There are many other methods you can use if you truly want to practice Hitbodedut. Nothing is loftier than Hitbodedut, which is the root and foundation of holiness, purity and repentance.

Odchudzanie nigdy chyba nie przestanie być modne.. no chyba że zacznie być popty na rubensowskie kształty… ale wątpie w to by przynajmniej przez najbliższe paredziesiąt lat zmieniła się moda na odchudzanie.
Ta moda coraz częsciej przybiera wręcz niezdrowego smaku. W reklamach, w filmach.. wszedzie gdzie są ludzie sukcesu są promopwani widzimy młodych pieknych i wyszczuplonych aktorów i aktorki. Taki też obraz człowieka szczesliwego zostaje w naszej podświadomości.
Szukamy i wpisujemy w google wyszczuplanie wrocław lub odchudzanie warszawa ewentualnie zabiegi odchudzające kraków, bądź szybkie wyszczuplanie poznń i szukamy pozornego szczęścia.
Nie zrozumcie mnie źle odchudzanie i wyszczuplanie jest potrzebne, ba wskazane, ale ono nie jest kluczem do szczęscia.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – The spider’s web

You want to speak to G-d but find it hard? You are like a warrior who girds his loins to overcome a mighty wall but when he comes to the gate, he finds it blocked with a spider’s web. Could anything be more foolish than to run away from the battle because the gate is covered with a spider’s web?

The main thing is speech. With speech you can win every battle. It is possible to meditate in thought, but the most important thing is to express yourself in words.

You may find it difficult to speak to G-d. You may also find it difficult to speak to a true Tzaddik. This is only because you are shy and lethargic and lack sufficient boldness.

This is silly! Here you are, ready to use your speech to overcome the great battle against the evil urge inside you. You are on the verge of victory: you are ready to break down the walls and open the gates with your words.

Should you hold back because of a minor barrier caused by a lack of confidence? This is nothing but a spider’s web covering the walls you want to break down with your words.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – A settled mind

It is a great achievement to be able to settle your mind for a period of time each day and regret what you must. Not everyone is able to attain mental calm and tranquility for a time every day. The day flies past and is gone, and a person finds that not once in all his life did he have time to settle his mind.

Make every effort to set aside time to review your life calmly. Think about all your different activities and interests and how you behave. Consider carefully if this is how you should spend your days.

Someone who does not meditate cannot attain wisdom. He may occasionally be able to think clearly, but not for any length of time. His power of concentration remains weak and unsustainable . He will never realize the folly of this world.

But one who has a clear, settled mind can understand that everything is madness and vanity.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – The power of desire

When you speak to G-d, make it a habit to express your longing and yearning to extricate yourself from evil and attain true good. Putting your longing into words is the way to draw your spiritual power from the realm of the potential and possible to the realm of the real and actual.

Longing and yearning alone create potential spiritual power, but the words of your prayers and conversations with G-d bring this spiritual power into the realm of the actual so that it becomes realized in actual fact. This is the way to accomplish what you yearn for.

Letters of Torah are present throughout the Creation. By expressing and articulating your yearning and desire in words, you invest these letters with new vitality and power for good. This brings you new life and strength and draws goodness and blessing into all the worlds. Numberless souls are stirred to make their own return to G-d, all through your words of prayer to your Maker.

How precious are the longing and yearning that you express before G-d. The main thing is actually to articulate the words. Make this your regular practice and devote time to it every day. This will benefit the entire world.

Make a new start each time, because everything that comes later is always in accordance with the beginning.

No matter what happens, it is always good to make a new start each time and say, “Today I am beginning…” If things were already good, now they will be even better! And if they were not good before, then you certainly need to start anew.

HITBODEDUT MEDITATION AND PERSONAL PRAYER – The silent scream

You can shout and scream with a “still, small voice” without anybody hearing you. Everybody can do this. Imagine the sound of such a scream in your mind. Imagine the shout exactly as it would sound. Concentrate on hearing the scream in your mind until you are literally screaming with this soundless “still, small voice” – and nobody else will hear anything.

This is actually a scream and not mere imagination. Just as there are channels that bring the sound from your lungs to your lips, so there are nerves that bring the sound to the brain. You can draw the sound through these nerves, literally bringing it into your head. When you do this, you are actually shouting inside your brain.

When you imagine this scream in your mind, the sound actually rings inside your brain. You can stand in a crowd of people screaming this way and no- one hears you.

It could be that when you do this, a faint sound may escape your mouth. This is because the sound traveling through the nerves to the brain can also activate the vocal organs, and they may then produce some sound. But it will be very faint.

It is much easier to shout in this way without words. When you wish to express yourself in words, it is harder to hold the voice in the mind without letting a sound escape your lips. Without words, it is much easier.
