We really lucked out the day these two got married! The forecast was predicting snow pretty much all day, but all we saw were blue skies! I have to warn you, though–I had a very difficult time narrowing these down, so eventually I just thought, “Why bother!? I’ll just post a ton!” Hope you enjoy them!

The elevator shot took two tries… It took us a bit to get centered and everything, and after holding the “door open” button for a while it started to buzz at us! In shock, dear Amy released the button, sending my bride and groom away. But the second time was much more successful! And thank you, Amy, for your ninja invisibility skills!

This is one of my favorite shots from the luncheon. I can’t remember what John was celebrating over, but it was fabulous!

All of Cassi’s brothers broke into the haka (the words were improvised…). So funny.

Yes, these were the quickest bridals ever!  Michelle and I had a little difficulty scheduling bridals during the holiday season, so we opted for the day of.  Because things were running a tad behind, we had about 30 minutes to drive and find a spot and hurriedly take some bridals.  I initially thought that kind of pressure helped me take some amazing photos, but that split second thought diminished when I realized that I was shooting one of the loveliest brides on Earth.  Michelle is a natural beauty, but the way she ministers and exemplifies the Lord is even more gorgeous!  She has a genuine joy and love for people and such a sweet spirit.  I think you can even feel it in the photos.  Look for more in the future of her wedding!!!

Now that Nicole’s wedding was last week I can finally post her bridals that I shot last month at the Utah State Capitol building.  The capitol is a great place to photograph, the lighting is amazing and the newly renovated building has some great architecture inside.  I traveled to Idaho last week to photograph her wedding and will share those pictures once I get them processed.  Below are a few of my favorites.

This is Carrie.  She is a sweet friend I’ve had for a very long time.  We met at my home church when her family moved there in Middle School.  She was such an encourager as I went through the student ministry and my faith grew.  She means so much to me that almost 6 years ago, she sang in my wedding.  I have to say that she was absolutely amazing that day.  In fact, I had no trouble with my emotions that day until I heard her singing as I was waiting to walk down the aisle.

Not too long ago, I received a random call.  First of all, through the course of a couple years, I had broken a couple phones and lost many numbers (don’t you hate when that happens), so I had no idea who was calling.  On the other end of the line was Carrie!  At first I thought this was a much-needed catch-up call, but then she told me the news.  ”I’m engaged…and I’m getting married in November!”  I believe that was July.

Many plans had to be worked out in a short time, but her wedding was absolutely gorgeous!  Because the wedding dress arrived only days before the wedding, we used a little time before the wedding to get some bridals for sentimental reasons.  Here’s a few from the day.  She was just stunning, beaming with joy!

By the way, aren’t her flowers just gorgeous?!  The pin was her late grandmother’s.  I thought that was a beautiful touch!

I love her facial in this one!  She looks ecstatic to be getting married!

One wonderful thing about being a wedding photographer is that I have the privilege of looking at wedding dresses all the time.  With the evolving styles, I can’t wait to see what the designers have come up with for us this year.  Here are a handful of photographs of wedding gowns that I think are absolutely stunning!

Talk about a unique collection of wedding dresses.  I would wear just about any of these if given a chance.  I think the one on the bottom row and second to the left is brilliant!

One of the fun sessions I like to offer to my engaged and married women  is a boudior session.  It is a time where they can get all dolled up and flaunt what they have.  Some people are a bit nervous when booking these sessions, but after it’s all said and done, they just can’t say enough about the experience.  With Valentine’s Day coming up, this is a great gift to give your husband. If you book by Wednesday, January 27th, I will throw in a special gift to you and your loved one.

Dramatic bridals that inspire!

Nothing much has been happening since I last wrote. Right now, I am just trying to tie ends together. I booked an appointment to find a dress at Melissa’s Bridals and Formal Fantasy in Westerly, RI and we will see how that goes. I really hope I can find something quickly. My main concern is how will my girls fit in these dresses. I tried to go strapless bra shopping yesterday and it was horrible. I even went to Lane Bryant because they carry my bra size but I still came up empty. So today, I think I will go to Frederick’s Hollywood and see if I can get a corset that will give the support my girls need.

I was thinking about my invitations and decided to get a calligrapher. I do not know anybody with good handwriting and I did not want my invitation to feel like some kind of a beach party invite (yes, I’m well aware it’s wintertime but it was the first thing that popped in my mind.) So I looked around and found this calligrapher who does BEAUTIFUL work. I emailed her and she responded within 5 minutes! I was floored at how much she charges per envelope. VERY REASONABLE. So, I am going to need to figure out how the invitations should be worded and make an appointment with her within the next 2 weeks.

Now I am debating whether to make favors or to have it already made. I was thinking about making some cake balls and bakerella inspired me! I am waiting to see what color my dress will be then I will attempt to make them and see if they come out good. If they do, I might just make them. If it is horrible, I will stick to something easy but creative like the classic Jordan almonds or so on.
