The Brock House Wedding Show, now in its 22nd year, is not only the longest running wedding show in our area, it’s one of the most well known (and, in our opinion, one of the very best). And, while it’s definitely got its tried and true components—the fashion show is always one of our favorites—every year DreamGroup Productions, who plans the event, finds some new elements to make it even more interesting than the year before.

This year they’re taking inspiration from fashion spreads in magazine (where you seek out the “Get This Look” section to mimic the styles) and reworking it for the wedding world, with ideas on how you can achieve three popular wedding looks on varying budgets. The looks will be displayed on three tables in the Art Room so you can stop by and peruse as it suits your schedule.

We’re also excited about the expert advice that will available through the What The Pros Want You To Know time, where some great Vancouver vendors will give short tip-filled talks on their areas of expertise.

And, of course, you’ll be able to get info on every aspect of your wedding through the vendors, receive a great bride’s gift bag for showing up, and treat yourself to killer canapes and complimentary wine.

The Brock House Wedding Show is the must-attend wedding event of the year.  A beautiful boutique style wedding show at The Brock House Restaurant (3875 Point Grey Road, Vancouver, BC)  is the perfect excuse to relax, sip champagne, and discover Vancouver’s best wedding vendors.   We will be at the show all day providing Pretty in a Quickies as well as helpful tips and tricks on getting the best lash look for your big day.

The event takes place on October 21st and features two opportunities to enjoy the show.  The first show is from 11:00pm-2:00pm and the second  (for those who are maybe-definitely NOT morning people) is from 2:00pm-5:00pm.  Tickets are on sale now and available HERE.

Our Noir Star socialistas have been on the go this month with a ton of events!  On Sunday October 23rd we will be at one of our favourite wedding shows- the Brock House Wedding show presented by DreamGroup.  Everything from fashion shows, door prizes and hors d’oeuvres to give you the most intimate and luxurious environment for choosing the vendors for your special day.  Noir will be set up providing a our complimentary mini-le fling while giving brides a little lesson on Lashes 101 and the pretty perks of being a blushing bride with luscious lashes!

How did we spend last weekend? We spent it beautifying brides at the Brock House Wedding Show!  We were so happy to be there with our BFF’s Blo and Bombay Brow Bar. The amazing organizers from Dream Group put us all together on the second floor, it was a one stop shop for lashes, hair and brows! With tons of information on everything from florists and cakes to lashes and premarital counselling this was an amazing wedding show- at such a beautiful location at the Brock House in Jericho!

We spent the whole day answering questions, giving Bridal Lashes 101 to newbies, and of course- letting brides try out our Le Fling!  The champagne was flowing, there was an abundance of cake- and everyone was so happy to be there (how could they NOT be?)! Brides came with their BFFs, sisters and mothers- we even saw a few soon to be grooms milling about and raiding the cake!  The show only got better as the fashion show featuring gorgeous fashions began- including a local favorite Frocks!

Such an awesome experience for anyone who is getting married- it’s hard to do it all yourself. But having all these vendors in one spot? A life saver! Some of our favourites were: Sonja Picard (who did stunning jewelry) and Top it off (who created an amazing costume that involves a table with the server at the centre- almost like a Disney fairy tale!)

We definitely have to send a special shout out to Blo- who saved me from my hair catastrophe! True to Vancouver, it began to pour in the morning and I got caught in the rain! Leaving my sleek blonde bob a frizzy disaster! Fortunately Blo came to the rescue! Where would a girl be without her BFFs?!
