Hey Bronco Maniacs! I just thought I would give you a heads up that I am going to be overseas for the next 2 whole weeks. I will be able to keep Bronco Madness up, so don’t worry but it will probably not have as many updates.

So basically all of yesterday afternoon I spent doing some maintenance on the site especially Draft Central  which basically underwent a complete and total make over.

Draft Central, which has been around Bronco Madness since March of 2007 has had more unique hits than any single post on the site up now to a whopping 44,361 hits, just by itself. Now it has brand new features besides its mock draft including:

Okay. So I have created this clever facade that I am technically adapt. Reasons why you know I am not: I still use wordpress.com. I can’t make any person changes to my themes. My photoshop skills are bad verging on horrible.

But, while I do not have a personal one, Bronco Madness has set up a Bronco Madness facebook group which you can join and connect with other Bronco Madness fans, readers, and possibly writers. We tried launching this when I came back from my hiatus but after Eddie Royal launched an account and our friends at the same time BroncoTalk and Mile High Report created theirs it reminded us we had one. 

So please, it’s not that hard. (Even though it took me a little while to find out.) If you have a facebook account you scroll under our “profile picture” and click Join Group. All you have to do is click here to redirect to it. Don’t worry, there is no human way that we or anyone else can steal your identity or whatever is making you hesitate. 

Oh and if we haven’t told why, here it is: Get early mock drafts before they are released, find out new site updates, read exclusive articles, and any other crap we can think up along the way. So enjoy and join! Please. Or if we are being too nice: do it or else. That is all. Go Broncos!

NFL Draft

Hey everyone, this morning I updated my 1st and 2nd round mock draft for the last time over at draft central. Just so you know here is the gameplan for how our coverage is going to work for us. I will be covering the entire first day of the NFL Draft, with commentary, news, and our picks. 

But the second day I sadly won’t be able to cover it which is upsetting yet I will be on vacation so it will all even itself off. Instead Josh will be covering it for you so please play nice kids.  I am not sure about you but I am very excited for a historical draft day in Broncos history. So remember that Bronco Madness will be here covering it all!

Meet your surprise. The all new Bronco Madness. Let me guide you through some of the great updates we have had around the site:

1. The Bronco Madness Update Box: There is always a lot of news and so many things you can say in an article. But the problem is sometimes it is not big enough news to be put in an entire article. You can see those here under the update box. Also this will have BIG news. So here you will find really small or really big Broncos news.

2. Higher Quality Pictures: I know this might be hard for you to see but all of the pictures on the site we have had put in a much higher quality. The only thing that has less quality is our header which we will be changing soon. But for the time being we will have the old one just stretched out a bit.

3. A Brand New Look: Sometimes the best thing about making a change is not what has changed but just that something has changed. We think here, that the newer and cooler things are the more it will improve by itself. 

So enjoy! Things might still be a bit kinky in certain parts of the site but I am working on fixing all of that. 

Josh and I over the last few days have been hashing out plans to celebrate our 100,000th unique hit which will becoming tomorrow. This is a big deal as it means in the span of only 1 year and 4 months we have had 100,000 different people visit the site.

That is why to honor this achievement we will have a surprise on the site that will be hard to miss when you log on tomorrow. So please go to the comments, congratulate us. Or call us @$%holes. I don’t really care. But just make sure you go to the site tomorrow to see what we have in store for you.

Brian Dawkins

Okay, so maybe we are not officially announcing the Dawkins signing but we are trusting some major news sources that he is. Multiple Philadelphia Newspapers have announced that he and the Broncos have officially agreed to terms with him.

Also David Anderson has not agreed totally to be a Denver Bronco but there is an offer sheet out there. Apparently he is waiting to see if the Texans are willing to match his offer. We are taking him off of the officially agreed to terms list but we are adding Dawkins because we are that certain.

From what I have heard the Broncos and Andra Davis while still in serious contract negotiations have not agreed on a contract. Actually, as rumor has it we may not even have an offer and the Broncos might not until tomorrow morning. I think by tomorrow we will have met on a agreement with him and he will be wearing orange and blue by Sunday.

I am doing my best to keep you guys on top of this, so keep it here at Bronco Madness as we will have a lot of news coming out tomorrow and tonight. Expect by late tonight the Broncos to officially announce that they and Dawkins have reached a final agreement. This day by the way, I would give a A- on their signings. Some good players look to be coming to Denver this year and I am excited. 

Since Jon Krause left the team I have been searching for our newest columnist and after cutting down our candidates to a few writers we have decided on who will be the next welcome addition to the Bronco Madness team. Say hello to Mike Koele of Broncos 365!

Mike is the lead writer of Broncos 365 and a co-owner of Tailgate 365. His new column will appear on the site every Monday and it will be titled Mile High Salute w/ Mike Koele. It will be a general Broncos column much like Saturday’s Horsing Around except by a new author and a new style.

We are glad to have Mike join the team with myself, Josh, Ian, and Jeff. I really hope you guys enjoy his new column! Also one other note: Combine Coverage will be all day on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We won’t be able to bring it to you Tuesday for a plethora of reasons but all you will miss here is the defensive backs. I hope to see you there!

I’ve decided to stop blogging. I may start up again some day in the far future. Thanks to my few loyal readers

Being a columnist on the Broncos has got in the way of other things in my life that are much more important. I love blogging, and I don’t want to stop. If I had my way I would not. But it’s not about my way. This is the direction I need to go in my life, and I think farther down the road I’ll be glad I did this.

Hi all you Bronco Maniacs! I will admit that keeping up the site lately has become a bit tedious but that will no longer be the case as Bronco Madness today will be introducing their newest Co-Editor. And I think I have found the right guy to bring you the latest Broncos beat!

Meet, Josh Vitale who I am sure you will all become accustomed to reading from in next few seasons. Josh who will be attending Penn St. University is a Die-Hard Denver Broncos fan and hopes to one day become a Broncos Beat writer. Well, he has come to a good place to start!

He is a respected member of The Bleacher Report where he became well known for his column Joshin’ Around. Josh should have his next article up in a little while and I am sure that you will really enjoy reading it. Thanks for joining Bronco Madness Josh and we are glad to have you.

Well tomorrow is an exciting day for me because all day we will be having a day dedicated to my favorite part of the Broncos season (The NFL DRAFT!) We will be having some cool material put on the site tomorrow all about the NFL Draft. This includes:

Draft Profiles will be cranking out tomorrow. We will have around 15 (more or less) and will finish all the profiles for players in our current Mock Draft. 

Then we will do a position by position Draft Review! This will dissect each position and help us decide which positions have the most need and where to draft for each one. 

A New Broncos Dream Draft we are going to give that will give a best case scenario of what would happen and represent my blatant favoritism.

Finally from 7:00 to 8:00 ET we will be having a live blogging session about the NFL Draft. Make sure you join in because it is going to be awesome. A little while back I mentioned that Bronco Madness would soon be introducing the all new Bronco Madness Facebook Group! Finally after long last it is here and we are glad to share with you all the great things that it will bring. 

First off, Here are the features of this great Facebook group that extend the possibilities of what you can do at the site itself:

I said that I thought it might be a little while until I would be back. I thought it might take two or three weeks possibly. But I couldn’t take it. I was too excited!!!! I have so many bottled up opinions about what has happened recently and I must share them with you. Those will be coming later today or tomorrow morning. 

We have some changes though on the site. First off we have a great new feature where for the month of December we will have a fake snow fall on the site. I’m guessing you were wondering what that was. It will go away but not until the new year! Also, Bronco Madness has a facebook page that will be coming soon. So you can look out for that!

Also we have added on Draft Central, THE BARNES BIG BOARD. It is a big board or a ranking of all the players in the NFL Draft. We will even be adding pictures to our articles. This is going to be great! I will not preview the Chiefs game but I will review it!

While I will miss it, for a little while Bronco Madness will be facing a short hiatus that could be a month or two. (Hopefully less.) I really hate to do this smack dab in the middle of the season but sadly I am facing some personal problems and a whole load of other things that I need to put my full attention on. The sad thing is Bronco Madness would have been on track this month for one of our biggest statistical months in recent history. At the latest we will be back by the Off-Season. But bare with me Bronco Maniacs, we will be back.

Sad news is coming towards Bronco Madness today. Our first ever member of Bronco Madness besides myself is leaving the Bronco Madness staff. 

Sonny Anderson this week decided to focus more on his growing blog Putt For Par and will be leaving our staff. We thank him for everything that he brought to the staff. He did two columns. One was Around The NFL With Sonny Anderson. The other was Sonny’s Thought of the Week.

Thanks a ton for your contributions to Bronco Madness. I wish you the best of luck Sonny! We think we have found our replacement for Sonny even though his contributions could never be replaced. Thought of the Week will stay but it will be re-named to Horsing Around. So watch out this week for our new writer!

I am merging two articles together because I do not have to post two articles. But anyway I speak for everybody in the Bronco Madness staff when I thank you guys for helping us reach 30,000 hits this week. This is our 30,000th hit since November 2007 when we started.

It has been a great ride and this may be one of the most exciting things that we have ever reached. I am glad that we have gotten to share this experience with you. To celebrate we got our team of designers or in other terms me and a good friend of mine who is a graphic designer to create a new banner. I hope you enjoy it! Now To Business:

Things do not look good for Ryan Torain, the potential backup and 3rd down runner for Selvin Young is injured and bad. 

Ryan Torain is expected to be out 6-8 weeks with a broken bone in his elbow, Mike Shanahan said Wednesday morning. It does not look good for him and he will probably lean more to the 8 weeks in my opinion.

He was carted off the field in he team’s 9-on-7 run-blocking period at practice very early this morning. It happened when he was knocked off balance while carrying the ball and put his left hand on the ground to regain his balance.

The hit was by Nate Webster and Jamie Winborn and apparently it was not pretty at all.. 

“He immediately collapsed on the turf grasping his left shoulder. Broncos head trainer Steve Antonopolus helped Torain walk to the sideline and tended to him for about 10 minutes before calling a cart to ferry the tailback off the field.” CBS4 pointed out. 

I have to say that this is very disappointing to say the least. I was hoping that he would perform well and be a solid backup for Young. Now I am hoping for Anthony Aldridge for the time being to back him up.

From now on Bronco Madness will supply you with the team injury report every two weeks. It will give you the injuries and then tell you how they will affect the team and or player as well. Here is the injury report for the week of June 9th.

6/2/08: TE, Chad Mustard, Hamstring

After only being on a reserve and playing 12 games this will not have too much of an effect. It will not last too long and it will not effect the team too much. The player doesn’t leave that big of an impact on the team when he is healthy. So if he is injured it won’t matter as much.

5/29/08: CB, Dre’ Bly, Hamstring

Let me explain this to you in simple terms: Not that big of an impact on the team. MONSTER impact on the player. According to sources Domonique Foxworth is pushing on Bly for the number 2 CB spot. This means that this will give Foxworth a golden opportunity to steal the job from Bly. Since that means that Foxworth will be a good replacement it won’t affect the team that much.

5/22/08: TE, Tony Scheffler, Foot

This is the only injury on the player that could have a big impact on the team. Tony had a slow start to the season but eventually he was able to get back into form. We do not want this to happen with this foot injury or else the TE spot might not be as strong.

4/11/08 LB, Warrick Holdman, Spinal Cord

There will be no effect at all on us. He is good player and I really like him but the chances that this would hurt us are absolutely ZERO.

3/26/08 WR, Brandon Marshall, Arm

We all know what happened here and we also know that for now he is recovering well and it should not affect us or him. There is no way he will lose his starting job and I like what we see from him always. Don’t worry about his absence hurting the team or us. overall we will not see too many problems due to injuries but don’t worry because we will catch up with this in about 2 weeks so hold on tight.

Hey I am Sonny Anderson and here is a recap on some other events in the NFL.

Right now, Matt Ryan has just signed with the Falcons. His contract includes a high price of $72 Million. What a hot shot!

In Seattle, a bit of trouble going on! Two great running backs are filling up in the back field. T.J. Duckett, and Julius Jones. These two running backs will be a great 1, 2 punch. They could definitely live on the run for the whole season. But that would waste the talent in Matt Hassleback.

Tony Sparano, the Dolphin’s offensive line coach, has claimed that Jason Taylor the superstar will not be practicing in the off-season. I think this is gonna bad for Jason Taylor as a person because he won’t get to know the rookies as well as the other veterans.

Also the new Indianapolis Colt’s stadium is chosen for Superbowl XLVI. I feel good for all you Colts fans, because the biggest thing in football is coming to you!

But for all you Broncos fans Brandon Marshall is starting up practice. He hasn’t been catching the ball yet, but he is running routes and practicing with Jay Cutler. He and Jay Cutler would be like a Joe Montana and Jerry Rice combination. It could really work. They could beat a lot of team’ secondary defense. That’s all for today folks, I will give you some more news in a couple days.

There are some things that teams just wish would happen that never will. Here are a couple that Bronco Madness wishes would happen to the Broncos.

Darren McFadden drops and drops and drops. There is a possibility he will drop but not to the 12th pick. We can’t help but wish it would. if he would drop to our pick we would have to choose him. I mean we need a RB but if he is available we would choose him. This is the perfect mix of need and talent. 

The Raiders trade picks with us. I am not totally sure why this would happen but in the first round this would rock. We could again get Darren McFadden of maybe Glenn Dorsey or some other star. This will not happen but how cool would it be?

We trade for Jason Taylor. There is no need for this but it would be great if we had him on our team. Just think of it. Taylor, Dumervil, Robertson. This would be an all star line. Though we will not trade for him and the price would to be high. Besides who needs a dancer on their line?

If Ryan Clady dropped to the second round if we passed on him. Now that would be great.
