Estará abierta a partir de las 09:00 h hasta las 17:00 h, aproximadamente, y todos los padres y amigos están invitados a venir durante el día.

Habrá una extensa gama de libros infantiles en inglés. Estamos seguros que todos podrán encontrar algo interesante.

Si, por alguna razón, Uds. no pueden asistir y quieren que sus hijos adquieran algún libro, los profesores estarán encantados de orientarles y ayudarles en su elección. Sugerimos que manden el dinero con sus hijos el día de la Feria.

Se acerca la Navidad y esperamos que puedan aprovechar esta oportunidad ideal para adquirir libros en inglés como regalos de Navidad para todas las edades y todos los gustos a precios muy razonables. Esperamos su visita.

Tuesday 1st December we will hold our Christmas Book Fair. The Fair will be open all day from 09:30 AM until 05:00 PM approximately and all parents and friends are invited to come.

A complete range of children’s books in English will be available and we are sure that there will be something for everyone.

We realise that many parents are working and will perhaps not be able to attend. If this is your situation, we would suggest that you send some money with your child and the class teacher will help him / her to select a book.

There will be a Christmas focus and you will have the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts for all ages at very reasonable prices.

Mult aşteptatul album, cel de al treilea semnat BSB, nu oferă nimic nou. Larger Than Life, The One şi It’s Gotta Be You sunt singurele piese dinamice. Tot restul albumului este o baladă nemuritoare de dragoste: este atât de siropos încât ţi se lipesc degetele de casetă atunci când încerci s-o pui în casetofon. Cea mai tare baladă este Don’t Want You Back. În cazul în care s-ar ţine un concert compus doar din piesele de pe acest album, BSB ar putea să încaseze mai mulţi bani de pe brichete decât de pe bilete!

No, this isn’t going to be yet another of those postings where the author announces that they’re going to stop posting for a while and signposts this with an hilarious pastiche of Test Card F wherein the girl’s face is replaced by that of Scatman John or somesuch. No siree, Out On Blue Six would never resort to such a cliched tactic, and anyway, as everyone knows, whenever there’s going to be no posts for a while because of mentals getting angry about people laughing at half hour comedy shows and how New Doctor Who is full of gay agenda not like good old Meglos, this is invariably heralded by a stroppy message, a picture of some obscure Francoise Hardy EP, and Catherine Tate taking over for a week. Instead, in the popular Out On Blue Six tradition of surreally ridiculing ancient TV continuity devices, it’s time to take a look at some of the more bizarre variants of Test Card F, with illustrations provided as ever by our old pals at TV Ark:

The original and, depending on how you look at it, best! Yes, it’s weirdly-dressed Carole Hersee and her unsettling gaudy-assembly-of-primary-colours pal Bubbles (“this shit ain’t right, sir”) poised immobile in their Seventh Seal-esque unending game of noughts and crosses, rightly revered for their spooking of entire decades’ worth of youngsters who had accidentally turned on before TV ’started’ and couldn’t understand what in the name of Sara & Hoppity this weird programme actually was, and looking exactly how you try not to remember it. But hang on a minute…

What madness is this? Granada?? It seems that our favourite fear-causers are not content with their hold over the unwary BBC audience, and have decided to implement a ‘no escape’ policy and branch out by taking the ITV regions by force. Like some crazy Murders McFadden & Whitehead, there Ain’t No Stoppin’ Them Now…

Onto something slightly less terrifying, then. Just as the BBC used to sell Play School in ‘kit’ form to overseas broadcasters, so they could refashion the props and scripts to suit their own purposes and dye Humpty in ‘poison’ colours etc, so they would strike similar deals with Test Card F, allowing our global compatriots to opt for slightly less chilling combinations of girl/clown. Here’s how Sweden’s Sveriges TV, famous makers of Xerxes, interpreted the classic design, incorporating a girl who appears to have stolen the top half of her wig from Ken Korda and the bottom half from Pat Sharp, and what is very clearly a discarded Hamble from their own concurrent Play School purchase.

Meanwhile, here’s a more thoughtful and spiritually-leaning interpretation from MBC, the curious Arabic cable channel of the early nineties that only seemed to show about three programmes at a million o’clock in the morning, all of which appeared to have been made in the same room. Also, someone came down the chimney on one once.

Over on The Comedy Channel, being somewhat less concerned with meditative contemplation than they were with Bill Cosby putting all of the plates in the dish washer so that they can be of washed up for the lunch, they opted instead for a not-particularly-comedy-related shot of some goldfish swimming around a deep sea diver out of one of those ‘Bill’ and ‘Dean’-centric Fisher-Price Adventure Playsets. Mind you, it’s really only here in the absence of the legendary Test Card adopted by its spiritual heir Paramount Comedy for the conclusion of a hard day’s showing of endless variations on Greg fretting because Dharma couldn’t understand why she should let ‘them’ stop her from wearing sweaters as trousers – an utterly bewildering photo of a giant chicken standing astride a gridlocked ‘freeway’ of randomly flashing car lights with an Flaming Lips-like orchestra of elongated car horns sounding in the background.

And here’s BSB, early sattelite home of hour upon hour upon hour of nothing interspersed by clunking satire shows featuring the young Armando Iannucci and Stewart Lee (“BOO! HISS!”) and marathon showings of Doctor Who linked by writers who had lost the ability to say anything bar ‘Padmasambhava’, trying to lure in the overnight viewers with Sky Magazine’s idea of a ’sexy’ female posing as a director. Clearly a resounding success.

And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for – a station devoted exclusively to the showing of William Hartnell-era episodes of Doctor Who. Free Delegates For All!

On 6th November, 2009 I traveled to Glasgow to watch my favorite band at the SECC Arena. I have been a religious fan and growing up in India I never expected that I would ever see them live.  No one ever tours around in that part of the world but in 2005, I was fated to watch them live at Hallenstadion, Zurich (where I was actually on a study tour but the boys’ tour date coincided). Then I saw them in 2008 at the NEC, Birmingham and AJ at Indigo2, London. Every single time has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. As cheesy and gay as that makes me sound, these guys have inspired me a lot. Sure, the teeny in me dreamt she would someday marry Nick Carter someday but as of this moment I know I rather stick to men I know in my REAL life! I am one of the those few fans who live in reality and by few I mean REALLLY few for over the years I have seen grown women acting like 13 year olds when it comes to the boys.

Why was this time special? Because I had the VIP to see a 10 minute soundcheck. Cannot believe I paid a bunch load of money to see a 10 minute session but I had to have that experience plus to be fair, I never spend on holidays or any other silly stuff, I deserved this. So after 14-15 something years, I finally got to see my favorite band a few meters away from me. The rest of the show was fabulous just as I had expected, I still don’t remember a thing yet it feels like I remember everything. A very strange feeling indeed. A backstreet show to me is like being sucked into a vortex for 60 minutes or so and then you’re back on earth. The best part about these guys is that they actually put in the effort to sing and entertain the fans! These boys to me always came off as really down to earth and normal people which is precisely why I have followed their music for so long. They are talented musicians!

As a fan I can’t really rate the show because my opinions are biased but This is us tour is definitely my favorite because of the entertainment factor. Sure, I missed the crowd interaction they had on the Unbreakable tour and Nick’s drumming session! or the organic rawness of the Never Gone tour but This is us was more than value for money. Seeing old grannies and young kiddies enjoying under the same roof says a lot about the band.

What ticked me off? I don’t want to use offensive words on my blog but I believe 90% of the fans are deluded women who need a slap from reality! This time I had an opportunity (Thanks to my mates) to get introduced to the groupies/superfans! Ofcourse every band needs its die hards but these girls are in need of some serious mental help. The fact that most of them believe they will end up Mrs. Carter one day just shows how emotionally effed up they are! It is sickening but the constant obsessive talks filled with perversion make you wonder, what the hell is wrong with them? It gets to a point where you think if you should even follow the band because going to a backstreet show and seeing those superfans around (a second away from knocking you over for some random reason) is scary! I felt like I somehow got stuck inside Gossip Girl!

I consider myself a fan, but an average fan. I support the band every way I can but I don’t have a zillion pictures and videos saved on my computer and I don’t care what Nick Carter’s girlfriend does for a living (forget about making plans to kill her) LOL I like their music and the people they are. Nick to me is a very beautiful man but I am aware he won’t notice me in the crowd and then go down on his knee on the stage and tell me he’s waited for me all his life! (Yesss, I’ve met fans who think that!) Even typing that is making me giggle. Of-course I would someday love to work for him or one of the other guys, that has been my dream but that is only because I am looking for a career in live events or PR and it would be the best thing in the world to work for someone you idolized as a child.

The entire weekend was a bittersweet experience filled with Larry David moments LOL (sometimes the Larry David in me can’t stop from popping out!) but that moment when I bumped into Nick Carter a dozen thoughts ran through my head and it all felt like a scene laid out of a movie, very unreal indeed. It was definitely fated, crazy stuff like that happens to me all the time but in a way I am so glad our eyes didn’t meet. I have thought of how it would be to meet him since I was 12 and no way do I ever want to be seen as the crazy stalking fan!

Im sure the superfans have their reasons on why they stalk the guys everywhere, it is probably the only opportunity for them to meet the band but when I weigh that possibility against its flip side- “meeting the band as a crazy stalker”, I rather not meet them then.

I thank God for having given me opportunities to live my dreams, I feel truly blessed and may be that is the reason the show was such an emotional experience for me. When I look back at my life and how far I have come and the things I have seen, I know there is someone watching over me who makes me work hard for my dreams but when they come true it is heaven because not being able to have lived it right away makes me realize its worth!

Das Angebot, die Fugger-Digitalisate in 3D zu betrachten ist noch in der Beta so wird brav vermeldet. Zu Recht. Denn so richtig Spaß macht das Angebot noch nicht. Leider. Und ob es sinnvoll ist – gute Frage.

Zu Beginn, das hatte ich schnell raus, kann man das Buch tatsächlich mit den ersten Pfeilen in einer 3D-Ansicht drehen – den Buchrücken sieht man also, Vorder- und Rückseite auch. Dann allerdings würde man das Ganze natürlich liebend gern aufschlagen. Und muss erstmal ein wenig rätseln, bis man rausfindet, dass der Pfeil, der normalerweise eher für Rückwärts steht, die Seiten nach vorne umblättert.

Ah ja.

Wenn ich nun im Firefox versuche mit der Maus richtig umzublättern, hakt das Ganze. Ich komme nicht auf die erste Seite. Auch das automatische Umblättern klappt nicht, weder vor noch zurück. Zoomen – das geht. Aber sonst hängt das Teil mit einem hybschem Vorsatzpapier vor meiner Nase und rührt sich so gar nicht.

Nun ja.

Dann doch lieber die “altmodische” 2D-Ansicht. Da kann man sich das Ganze in Ruhe betrachten, muss nur auf Pfeile klicken und braucht auch kein Java. Man muss es ja auch nicht kompliziert haben, gelle?

Cand au inceput sa cante si erau in trend toata lumea ii asculta. Erau postere cu BSB in toate camerele fetitelor intre 10-18 ani. Mai ales in cea a verisoarei mele care era obsedata de ei. Mai ales de Nick Carter, care uimitor chiar si acum are aceasi voce ca la 16 ani. Nu stiu ce mananca /bea acest tip dar vocea lui e neschimbata.

M-a hotarat sa scriu acest articol fiindca noul lor videoclip este genial! Chiar imi place . Este nou si inovativ fata de celelalte video-uri ale lor care pastrau tenta lor de boy band din anii 90 si are ca tema vampirii ( poate ca de asta imi place asa mult. )

Depuis le temps que je l’attendais ce concert.. Nos billets étaient réservés depuis début juillet !

17h20, on part de la maison. On arrive à sortir de Bruxelles ENFIN vers 18h15, direction l’autoroute d’Anvers. On aperçoit le Lotto Arena vers 18h50.
Des centaines de personnes font déjà la queue devant les portes, toutes abritées en-dessous de leur parapluie. On décide finalement de la jouer relax, on mange calmement dans la voiture avant de sortir vers 19h15 sous une drache nationale.
On se met dans la file, pour finalement se rendre compte que cette file est si longue car elle regroupe toutes celles qui ne veulent pas faire la queue sous la pluie et qui s’abritent sous le Lotto Arena. Finalement, on rejoint une file de 4-5 personnes, on passe les contrôles en 2 minutes montre en main, et on arrive enfin au sec dans la salle.

J’étais prête à me ruer dans la salle, à me battre pour arriver le plus près possible dans la fosse, comme le 4 mai dernier à Forest Nationale et au bout du compte.. Première grosse déception : les places sont assises et numérotées. Les gens sont tranquillement assis, tout calmes.
- “Heu.. on s’est gourrés de salle ? J’viens pas voir Gad Elmaleh moi hein ! C’est quoi tous ces gens assis ?”
- “Tu râles déjà ?”  *HAHA*

Bon, finalement on décide de rester debout en attendant le concert.
Vers 20h, quand le concert de chauffe commence avec un gros neuneu qui s’amuse sur ses platines à remixer du 50 cent, on décide d’aller s’installer sur des chaises dans la fosse, quitte à se faire évacuer par la suite. Les places sont extra, l’ambiance monte petit à petit, mais la salle se remplit et on finit par bouger de nous-même pour éviter de se faire éjecter de nos places qui en soit ne sont même pas les nôtres.
On se dirige finalement vers le côté droit de la salle, mais je râle.
- “C’est trop loin. C’est trop calme. Je vois rien. Prout quoi !”

On s’installera finalement quelques sièges plus bas.

La grande question de ce début de soirée : qu’est-ce que les Boys nous ont préparé comme entrée sur scène cette fois-ci ?
La dernière fois à Forest Nationale, ils avaient fait leur entrée sur un terrain de boxe, en pleine action. MonChéri pensait à une entrée banale, mais ça ne leur ressemblait pas.
Et effectivement. Je n’ai pas du tout été déçue.
Super début de concert sur écran géant pour faire monter l’ambiance, puis arrivée des Boys à travers l’écran.

Le concert commence, les chansons se succèdent.
Très bonne Playlist d’ailleurs. Ils nous ont offerts un mélange de chansons de tous leurs albums, du premier “Backstreet Boys” en 1995 au dernier “This Is Us” de 2009.

Le début de chaque chanson est chaque fois bien recherché, surtout pour Langer Than Life que j’ai particulièrement apprécié niveau chorégraphie et costumes, et pour Straight Through My Heart avec une intro à la James Bond, pour le plus grand plaisir de MonChéri.
J’ai trouvé les chorégraphies justement très bien travaillées, même si un peu trop de dance pour moi. Une chanson relax, où les Boys sont simplement assis ou occupés à marcher sur scène aurait été pas mal je trouve.
Niveau costumes, ils ont bien trouvé ça, avec de nouvelles fringues à chaque chanson, entre lesquelles ils faisaient patienter le public en diffusant une petite vidéo sur l’écran géant, les mettant en scène tous les 4 séparément.

Ces petits films sur écran géant d’ailleurs, bien qu’assez simplets, étaient pas mal du tout trouvés pour faire la transition entre les chansons.
Chaque Boys était intégré dans un film connu ( Howie dans Fast and Furious, AJ dans Fight Club, Brian dans Il était une fois et Nick dans Matrix) où l’histoire était remaniée pour parler des Boys. Seulement d’où on était, le son était complètement pourri et pas moyen de comprendre ce qu’ils racontaient dans le film. Les effets spéciaux pour les intégrer dans le film étaient faits de façon assez peu crédibles, mais après tout, on est à un concert, pas à une séance de cinéma !

De beaux moments aussi qui m’ont donné la chaire de poule.. Des chansons comme I Want It That Way.. Show Me The Meaning.. chantées en coeur par toute la salle. Des petits instants où les Boys nous laissaient chanter seuls ces chansons devenues de véritables hymnes.. Adoré !

Bref, concert de rêve avec eux encore une fois. En espérant qu’il y aura encore quelques tournées dans les années à venir… et merci à MonChéri de m’avoir accompagnée les voir pour la troisième fois de suite ces dernières années ! <3
