Cuando me contaron de este anuncio pensé: “quéeee chingallos???” y cuando lo vi quedé atónita, qué fregados hace el Buki de vende tenis?

¿Tan dura está la crisis?

Ante esta horrible propaganda les pregunto:

¿Alguno de ustedes ha visto al Buki alguna vez en tenis? ¿Alguna vez lo han visto en un parque jugando fut bol o basquet o ya de jodida corriendo?  ¿No estaría mejor que pusieran a un deportista buenote?

En fin, ahora si que como dice su canción: Si no hubieras anunciado Pirma sería tan feliiiiz…

Me llama la atención esta foto que sale en el portal del diario Reforma donde vemos al presidente Calderón con Javier Aguirre y a muchas estrellas de la farándula y la música, en la presentación de “Vive México”, un plan para detonar nuevamente el turismo en México. Muchos de ellos me caen muy bien, pero… ¿acaso son los mejores talentos del país? Permítanme dudarlo, digo, de los que reconozco están Omar Chaparro, Sebastián Rulli (que no es mexicano), Angélica María, Aleks Syntek, Emmanuel, Mauricio Barcelata (¡háganme el favor!), Fernando del Solar (que tampoco es mexicano), Ana de la Reguera, Bárbara Mori, Fher de Maná y el Buki.

Díganme purista pero… ¿dónde están Alejandro González Iñárritu, Guillermo del Toro, Salma Hayek, Andrés Bustamante, León Krauze, los de Café Tacuba, Germán Dehesa, entre muchos otros líderes en su ramo? De verdad, si yo veo a Mauricio Barcelata en un anuncio para Acapulco, es seguro que no voy a ir.

Seperti yg saya janjikan sebelumnya, saya ingin menulis ttg adek saya sendiri. Bukan punya maksud lain, hanya karena merasa apa yg ada di adek saya saat ini hampir sama dengan saya kira2 10 tahun yll.

Saya menghabiskan banyak waktu bersama, saya, Dek Ugrah, Nadine dan istri. Mulai dari maen Counter Strike, maen ding-dong, jalan ke mall, maen ke Dumai, sampe maen ke Bukittinggi [saya memang sengaja mengambil cuti 2 minggu khusus untuk maen dengan Dek Ugrah dan keluarga). Dari situ saya banyak mengamati adek saya. Mulanya hanya karena rasa kangen saja. Tapi lama-kelamaan keliatan sifat dan nilai yg menonjol di Dek Ugrah ini.

Anugrah & Andhi

Berikut ini beberapa nilai dan sifat yg ditunjukkan Dek Ugrah yg membuat saya semakin bangga kepada dia. Mudah2an nilai2 yg baik ini selalu ada padanya.

1. Kritis

Nilai pertama yg saya tangkap dari Dek Ugrah adalah kritis. Pada saat saya jemput dia dari Bandara Sultan Syarif Kasim II menuju Rumbai dia banyak bertanya ttg Pekanbaru. Kotanya kok kayak gini ya Mas? Padahal tanah Riau ini kaya… Kok cuman gini ya? Saya menjawab, Kotanya memang biasa aja Dek.. Tapi, mobil pejabat dan orang Pemda-nya mantabs punya.

2. Disiplin

Satu yg saya suka dari Dek Ugrah adalah sholatnya lebih tepat waktu dari saya (akhir2 ini saya rada kurang memegang waktu sholat). Meskipun dia bangunnya siang mulu waktu di rumah, tapi Dek Ugrah sudah Sholat Subuh dan kemudian tidur lg.

3. Sederhana

Hal lain yg membuat saya kagum adalah kesederhanaannya dan tidak berlebihan. Suatu hari dia saya ajak ke sebuah supermarket untuk beli buah dan Milo. Dek, ambil buah yg kamu suka, kata saya. Eh, dia hanya ngambil Sunkist 3 biji, dan anggur merah satu bungkus kecil. Saya bilang lg ke dia, ambil lg, nanti kurang lho… Engga ah Mas, di kulkas masih ada makanan. Sayang nanti kebuang, Jawab Dek Ugrah.

Dek Ugrah jg menolak saya beliin celana baru dan lebih memilih celana saya yg sudah ndak muat lg perutnya di saya (tp pas di Dek Ugrah). Memang celana tsb boleh dibilang masih bagus dan baru. Oh ya, satu lg. Kalau sholat di rumah, Dek Ugrah selalu pake sarung. Celananya dicopot semua (termasuk yg dalem lho, heheheh). Yg terakhir ini persis saya jaman dulu.

It felt a little weird to be off from work today. It was a previous scheduled day off and my being in the office wouldn’t have changed a thing from what occurred, but it isn’t often that you lose a colleague and it gets picked up by the AP.

I love my job, but I haven’t been in it long enough to form any kind of special bond with the living collection other than I think I’m an accepted part of the fabric. I have a great appreciation and a tremendous amount of respect for those folks who work directly with the animals. It’s a tough job under the best of circumstances and when an animal gets sick, these guys are rock stars.

Our friend Buki was a favorite with visitors and staff. She had a playful manner and a sense of fun that put everybody at ease. A case in point, I occasionally am pressed into service in a spokesperson role, which is no big deal, I’m fairly comfortable in that role. That is kind of ironic as school oral reports were always moment of fear. In any case, early last summer, I came down with Bell’s Palsy. I’ve since beat it back, but for a time the right side of my face was frozen in a bit of scowl. That is kind of handy when you have teenage daughters, not so much when you are representing your institution.

Anywho, when the terrific public relations coordinator is out, I get the call. She was away for a live shot on one of the local morning shows. The day before my boss told me nobody could see anything from my affliction. While that was nice to hear, it didn’t stop my worry. I’m irish, it’s how I roll.

The butterflies only amplified when the reporter asked me to face to the right (my afflicted side). I knew my talking points and whatnot, but I was having a tough time concentrating on my answers thinking that I must have looked, I dunno, scary or something. Trying to remember myself, I think I sounded nervous the first time out despite the reporter’s kind words. I should mention that Buki was sniffing around a little behind us while we were talking. I think mostly to see who had the jelly beans, an occasional treat. The initial segment finished and I felt a breeze behind me. I don’t know if she sneezed, exhaled or just sighed at the silly visitors, but whatever it was, I like to think the old show business pro was telling me to chill.

So I did. The rest was easy
