Maybe it’s because of that greenish-whitish hue and black markings, how fat and chubby they are, how they remind me of that caterpillar in Alice and Wonderland, they way they’re orange little osmeteriums stick out wen they are provoked, well… I don’t really know. But I have to say that I went through some DRASTIC measures to get them! I have looked on every single butterfly farm website for them, I have Facebook stalked a few butterfly farm pages, I have tried planting my own host plants (parsley, dill, fennel, rue, etc.) to attract them naturally to my garden but that didn’t work out, so I made thousands of accounts on forum sites to try and ask around if anyone knows anyone else who can supply them to me… all until I found “Social Btrflies farm” (yes, spelled like that). I called them yesterday and asked if they have any black swallowtail chrysalises in stock. This was my last hope. I was prepared to hang up sadly, just before they answered back with a YES. “YOU DO!? REALLY!!??” I shouted back in happiness. “How many?” They had a dozen or so in stock. and I happily said, I’ll take all of them! And now… good news! They’re on the way to my house, I will be expecting them around Thursday! I am planning to mate them and have the females lay eggs, for me to rais. So keep your heads up, because I might have leftover eggs to share with you! Have a good day!
