I una nova canço del disc “Long time nou see” sera el tema de “Salaryman Kintaro 2″ que es veurà a partir del proper Gener a la TV Asahi.

No dia 18 de Novembro, o B’z lançou o álbum “MAGIC”, o décimo sétimo álbum da carreira dessa dupla que teve bastante destaque no cenário musical japonês neste ano de 2009.

Esse grande destaque venho com o single “Ichibu to Zenbu / DIVE” lançado no mês de Agosto, onde a primeira música foi utilizada como tema do popular dorama BUZZER BEAT. Este single vendeu mais de 350 mil cópias e ficou durante dois meses no top 10 do ranking da Oricon. Outro grande single lançado pelo B’z esse ano foi “MY LONELY TOWN” que também teve ótimas vendas.

Esses dois singles estão presentes neste novo álbum da banda. “MAGIC” possui ao todo 13 faixas, onde apenas essas três músicas já citadas são conhecidas, as outras dez são todas faixas inéditas. A versão limitada do álbum possui um DVD contendo um documentário chamado “Magical Backstage Tour 2009″ que são filmagens da mais recente turnê da banda, “B’Z SHOWCASE 2009 -B’z In Your Town-” e da apresentação deles no festival SUMMER SONIC 09.

Realmente 2009 foi um grande ano para o B’z, mas eles ainda querem que o este sucesso continue e então, já anunciaram a sua nova turnê. “B’z LIVE GYM 2010 -Ain’t No Magic-” estará divulgando este último álbum da banda. Já foram marcadas 19 datas por todo o Japão e entre os locais das apresentações estão os domes de Fukuoka, Nagoya e Osaka. O encerramento da turnê acontecerá em março no grandioso Tokyo Dome, onde haverão quatro apresentações da banda.

This morning we have a syndicate bonanza with a very solid IPO pricing and many secondary offerings getting priced.  Fortinet, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTNT) priced 12.5 million shares in IPO at $12.50, above the $9.00 to $11.00 range.   There are also many secondary offerings:  American Water Works (NYSE: AWK) 37.35 million shares priced at $21.63; Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ) 17 million shares priced at $4.85; Longtop Financial Technologies Limited (NYSE: LFT) 3.7 million shares priced at $31.25; Smith International Inc. (NYSE: SII) priced 28 million shares priced at $26.50.

We have detailed information on the size, use of funds, underwriters, and performance on each below.

At Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) and the priced 12.5 million shares in IPO at $12.50, the deal breakdown is as follows for the $156 million offering: 5,781,683 shares are being sold by the company and 6,718,317 shares are being offering by selling stockholders. Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, and Deutsche Bank are joint book-runners; Robert W. Baird, RBC Capital Markets, ThinkEquity, and JMP Securities, and Signal Hill Capital Group LLC are co-managers. In addition, Fortinet has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,875,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments.  Fortinet is in the field of network security and unified threat management solutions, and it priced above the $9 to $11 indicated range.

American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), the largest water utility in the U.S., priced a 37.35 million shares at $21.63 per share after a closing bell price of $21.63 yesterday for a sale of close to $800 million.  This stake is entirely from RWE AG, the former parent and majority/largest holder, so none of the $784 million in gross proceeds go to American Water itself.  BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley are joint book-runners.  Shares are up 0.3% at $21.71 after a $21.63 close yesterday.

Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ) 17 million shares priced at $4.85, and all shares here are also being sold by shareholders and insiders in the $82+ million raise.  Goldman Sachs was the sole book-runner.  Boise Cascade Holdings, L.L.C. (and trusts affiliated with Jason Weiss) will now ‘only’ hold about 25% of Boise’s common stock after the offering.  Shares are down 3.3% at $4.92 after a $5.09 close yesterday.

Longtop Financial Technologies Limited (NYSE: LFT) is actually trading way up this morning after it priced 3.7 million shares (ADS’s) at $31.25 per share, for more than $115 million raised.  Longtop is into software development and solutions which target the financial services industry in China.  The use of the net proceeds of the offering are earmarked for potential acquisitions and for general corporate purposes.  Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley were the joint book-runners.

Smith International Inc. (NYSE: SII) priced 28 million shares priced at $26.50 in a $730 million approximate raise.  Oddly enough, Citigroup just raised the rating on Smith International.  The net proceeds from the offering will be used for debt repayment, general corporate purposes, and funding of potential acquisitions or investments.  J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. is the book-running manager for the deal.  Shares are actually up 4% at $27.97.

We are seeing a whole new slate of S-3 secondary filings and still seeing plenty of S-1 IPO filings at the SEC each day.  If the market holds up, there will be many more days where the stock market has to absorb the $1.86 billion absorbed by the market this morning in new shares on the market.

Das München-Komplott, eine der größten Katastrophen. Das da die Aufklärung her muss ist eine Selbstverständlichkeint. Und da Dengler diesen Fall als fünften Fall zu lösen hat und der Polizeipräsident nach 30 Jahren um Hilfe bittet, ist es für ihn eine Sache, die er sich trotzdem überlegen muss.

Wenn man sich wie er alles noch einmal gedanklich vorstellt, die Explosion, die entsetzlichen Schreie der Menschen, vielleicht noch im Regen zum Teil zerfetzt wurden, die Gliedmaßen oder das Augenlicht oder sogar sein Leben verliert, Kinder darunter sind und man sich vorstellt, welche Kraft eine Bombe aus Nägeln, Schrauben und kleinen Metallteilen hat und wie weit die Bombe gestreut hat.

Wenn Dengler anhand der Vernehmungsprotokolle, Zeugenaussagen von Betroffenen, Presseberichte alles noch einmal durchlebt, das ganze Blut das zu sehen war, da kann man verstehen, dass Dengler sich alles noch einmal überlegen muss.

Dieser Fall scheint ein richtig schwerer Fall zu sein, der zu lösen ist. Auf diesen Ausgang bin ich gespannt. Die Spannung ist ja schon in der Leseprobe zu erkennen und macht neugierig. Einfach richtig gut.

Koshi Inaba sings lead vocals in popular Japanese rock band B’z. Slash once played lead guitar in Guns ‘N’ Roses and has since become one of the most inessential people in music today. Slash has a new album coming out soon (the perfect stocking stuffer for your friend who lined up outside of Best Buy last year to buy Chinese Democracy) and the Japanese version of said album includes a song with Koshi Inaba. I’ll let the song speak for itself.

Kinki Kids easily grab themselves the top spot.  Great sales also for UVERworld and Nana Mizuki also.  Dissapointing sales for Morning Musume, as this is the second lowest selling single of the band’s career, as well as the last single featuring member Koharu Kusumi.  BoA is down in 8th this week (but she never was a strong single seller).  Lots of singles also still up there from last week (and weeks before in B’z’s case).

Koshi Inaba, vocalista da dupla de rock B’z, fará uma colaboração especial para uma das músicas do próximo álbum de Slash, lendário ex-guitarrista do Guns ‘n Roses e atual membro do Velvet Revolver.

A música será chamada Sahara e será lançada como single no Japão para promover o mais novo álbum de Slash, lançado como parte da série “Slash & Friends” e estará disponível no dia 11 de novembro.

Uma versão de Paradise City, clássico do Guns ‘n Roses, com a participação de Fergie ( Black Eyed Peas) e do grupo de hip-hop Cypress Hill, também fará parte do CD.

O álbum de Slash está previsto para chegar às lojas entre fevereiro e março do próximo ano. Entre os outros vocalistas convidados para o disco, estão Chris Cornell (ex-Audioslave e Soundgarden), Mr. Shadows, do Avenged Sevelfold, e o famoso Ozzy Osbourne. A produção está sendo feita por Eric Valentine, que já trabalhou com Good Charlotte e Queens of the Stone Age.

it’s november now. i’m waiting to buy the latest full album of B’z Magic and Matsu Takako Time For Music.

and i can’t wait for Slash [Guns N' Roses] solo album which featured Koshi Inaba B’z in SAHARA song. haha, i love Slash. and i’m so happy. among all the vocalists in this world, he choose Inaba-san.

weeks ago, i received B’z single album “My Lonely Town” and Matsu Takako single album “Kimi to Nara”. love it, love it, love it!! the arrangement of music and the lyrics.

and i love My Lonely Town PV. such a great idea by choosing Hashima Island [well-known as Battleship Island] as the background. somehow this reminds me of nakanaka’s Watashi wa Kai ni Naritai theme PV [by Mr Children].

oh, talking about Battleship.. kimura now filming a new movie Space Battleship Yamato -  a live action of Japanese science-fiction anime “Uchuu Senkan Yamato” – one of his favorite anime. the casts consist many my favorite stars!

and kimi to nara? haha, another bold message from otaka to otaku. matsu was so cute during the recording at Bellflower, Los Angeles. another thing, i was surprised that i really like the cover song of 500 Miles. i didn’t like the original english folk song, but the japanese version was really good.. thanx to otaka’s sweet voice. oh, Imawano was the one who did translated the song into japanese. and to me, the lyric of 500 Miles is a part of her message too. 500 Miles – Hedy West song really reminds me of SxS ~ Most Wanted 5 Women.. the first guest: ishihara mariko …. the part of shinkansen station.. and “yappari, she’s my soul mate” conversation – the part which suddenly kimura gave a BIG interest. hikhik.

the effect? the impact?!
i had a miraculous night dream.. where B’z and SMAP were singing “Ichibu to Zenbu” in front of me. haha. it was a great collaboration. with perfect sounds and best choreography.  somehow it’s looks like a mini concert to me. yeah, it’s just a dream. but i’m already satisfied.

and kimumatsu hyper mode suddenly hit me again. which turned myself to re-run LongVac, LoveGene, HERO, HERO Movie and all SmaSma Matsu guest in 2 days in a row! seriously, my heart was soaked with 1001 mixed-feelings. and my brain couldn’t recognized the definition of happiness and sadness. so what should i name this emotion? once in a blue moon mood?

recently, latest ANAN magazine released… it’s SMAP. talking about the signs of love from them to women… and the signs of love they catch from those women. Ararara~ reading that, one by one… how should i say.. it’s like their love confession to the ladies. that ladies aka my ladies aka their ladies. and the most obvious one is TsuRena. [giggling, squealing, almost screaming inside]. i’m so happy. strong confirmation that my sense and hypothesis are significant and relevant. lol. i become TsuRena fandom since the poster of Ryokiteki na Kanojo released. before the news and trailer or whatever stuff shown up. before the drama on-aired. imagine.. just looking to the poster, i could sense the rabu rabu white smoke around them. after Ninkyo Helper and Ballad and Haken no Oscar… tsurena is still there.

in SmaStation, in Tsuki Ichi Goro corner, goro gave his comment by saying matsu was wonderful and the most beautiful in Villon’s Wife movie. huhu, i really like to hear what goro would say about kanno miho’s upcoming ‘Permanent Wild Rose’ movie, next year.

i should say i was happy with matsu Jane Eyre musical play and Villon’s Wife movie. i think i already mentioned those many times at many places. i’ve heard another rumor last May, but now.. it’s official:

Matsu in another great movie KOKUHAKU (Confession) – based on the famous mystery novel by Minato Kanae. Matsu will play the leading role, a junior highschool teacher [single unmarried mother] whose daughter died at the school’s pool while waiting for her finishing her work. Somehow she believe that her daughter has been murdered by two of her students. For that she quit her job and promise that she will reveal the murderers. This best-selling year 2008 novel already received many awards.

okada masaki and kimura yoshino are among the co-stars. this movie is directed by Nakashima Tetsuya who worked with SMAP many times. nakashima also did PVs for matsu Minna Hitori and smap Sotto Kyutto too, ya’know.  hikhik, is this another coincidence?

Amazing results for AKB48 considering sales from hand-shake events are no longer counted.  AAA’s single was being sold as a tripple A-side (or an AAA side?… okay that’s not very funny), although the Oricon has only listed Hide Away, which is the ending to Inu Yasha: The Final Act.  More anime contributions from May’n (Macross F), 2 K!ON image songs and MM Gakuen Gasshoubu!

On 26 October 2009, I photographed a band called BZ at Koko, in Camden, London. They play traditional Ethiopian music from various parts of the country and their dancers put on an amazing show with several costume changes. You can see the full set of photograpgs HERE.

The band was promoted by Kazum! and was supporting the mighty Tinariwen.

Now that I have a debt card (not exactly new, but still…) I just recently made my way to Amazon and decided to look for some CDs I’d been wanting. Japanese CDs are insanely expensive, as CDs in Japan run $25 from the bat, add import fees and shipping costs, and a CD is likely to set you back $50-70. So when I saw ‘New and Used from $15′ I jumped at the opportunity and bought all 3 of Nakashima Mika’s albums I didn’t have. Feeling pretty satisfied I returned to the homepage to notice ‘In Japan, Shop Amazon Japan!’ I headed over there only to find that the same albums I just bought were listed ‘Used from ￥360′ (about 3 dollars) and I wouldn’t have had to pay international shipping… DOH.

I then proceeded to buy 3 Mr.Children albums, a B’z Album and an Ikimonogatari Album for like $19. Rock on–literally.

The other day, I had some nice things to say about this new op-ed in The Forward from fellow jblogger and Jewschooler BZ.

Over the course of the rather active comment thread on the version of that post at Jewschool, BZ shared a great chunk from his original draft of the op-ed that got cut for length. I’ll share it here because I think it just continues to hit the nail on the head.

When intra-Reform discourse touches on the subject of halachah (Jewish law), people on all sides of the issue tend to portray “the halachah” as a static body of law. Whether they are advocating for the position “Reform Judaism is not halachic” or “Reform Judaism should be more open to halachah,” the unspoken assumption is that Orthodox halachah is the normative halachah, and Reform Judaism should either reject it or incorporate elements of it. In other words, Orthodox Judaism is perceived as 100% halachic, and the debate is about whether Reform Judaism should be 0% halachic or somewhere between 0 and 100%. Instead, Reform Jews should steer clear of this linear scale and pursue an indigenous Reform vision of the structure and content of halachah.

Single thứ 47 của nhóm B’z mang tên “MY LONELY TOWN” được phát hành ngày 14/10/2009 và đạt #1 của Oricon tuần 43 với 180,723 đĩa được tiêu thụ trong tuần ra mắt. Single gồm a-side “MY LONELY TOWN”, b-side “Kirei na Namida” và bản ballad của bài hát “Ichibu to Zenbu” đã được tung ra làm single trước đây.

“MY LONELY TOWN” là một bản rock ballad theo đúng style quen thuộc của B’z. Đoạn verse với phần giai điệu đơn giản được thể hiện ở quãng trung trên nền nhạc được phối với những đoạn distorted guitar dày cộp được hỗ trợ thêm bởi những hợp âm dứt khoát của dàn dây mang đến chất kịch tính cho bài hát ngay từ những giây đầu tiên. Đoạn chorus chính là điểm nhấn của bài hát với giai điệu xuất sắc đến mức vừa nghe qua là tớ đã nghiện nặng và repeat liên tục vô số lần đoạn này. Whoa!!! Mấy tháng rồi tớ mới lại được nghe một bản rock tốt đến mức này.

Đánh giá:

“Kirei na Namida” thay đổi hoàn toàn không khí của single với độ mỏng và tốc độ vừa của bản phối. Phần giai điệu của track này mặc dù không được catchy như “MY LONELY TOWN” nhưng vẫn đủ khả năng duy trì sự hứng thú cho người nghe. Tóm lại, đây là một track khá dễ nghe và thích hợp để nghe khi tớ muốn thư giản, giảm stress.

Đánh giá:

Nhìn chung, “MY LONELY TOWN” là một single cực mạnh với bản a-side xuất sắc và b-side khá tốt. Nói thật là tớ không thích single “Ichibu to Zenbu / Dive” lắm nên cũng không trông chờ nhiều vào single lần này, nhưng “MY LONELY TOWN” hoàn toàn làm tớ bất ngờ với chất lượng đỉnh cao và cho thấy sự đầu tư hết sức nghiêm túc về cả phần giai điệu nổi bật lẫn bản phối sắc sảo. Rút kinh nghiệm, sau này tớ sẽ không kì vọng quá nhiều vào các single/album vì có bất ngờ một chút mới ‘đã’ ^^!
