I used to call him Pak Rahman but then I call him Tok Rahman when my grandpa reminded me he’s as old as him. So, ‘Tok’ suits his age.

This morning, when khutbah was about to begin, he stood at the back and move a few steps forward. With a little too loud voice he asked a man in front row to switch on the light for minbar.

So the man did it. Tok Rahman gave a thumbs up signal and said “That’s it!”. Most of us looked at each other and I smiled when I heard among us someone commented, “Huish..Rahman speaking tu..!”.

Anyway, Salam Aidiladha to my lovely readers.

Fine, I watched Nur Kasih twice – the first two episodes. I suggested mom and dad to watch them too like, “Pa..bu..tengok cte ni. Best2!” Then I don’t know whether they keep on following the series or not coz I never asked.

But me myself, never fancy the drama. Later I found out that people (women mostly) are going crazy over it when they created stuffs like “Who’s your character in Nur Kasih” on facebook and posted status like “..suka Adam sbb die bla3..!”.

Not sure for its storyline or those two male stars in it who play siblings. Sounds too Dean and Sam Winchester, brothers in ‘Supernatural’ which now enters its fifth season.  Haha. So Malaysia also got its own version I think. Congratulation!!

So uhh..while waiting for Bunkface performance on Muzik-Muzik Semi Final, I forced myself to watch Nur Kasih. Who knows I might somehow got attracted but unfortunately the story was blurrhhh.. – Nur yang masih menunggu kemunculan suaminya acapkali dinasihati whosoever… tetapi tetap dengan pendirian  Nur-tetap-akan-tunggu-Adam-selagi-belum-ada-bukti-dia-dah-mati.

Dan begitulah meleret-leret sehingga ke hujung episod pada malam ini.

So what sort of Malaysian drama that Shamel likes? Any extraordinaire series, especially insofar as it concerned Red Films and Primework Studios production. Those of Ghost, Blogger Boy, Kami and Gol & Gincu for the very least of examples.

The latest, aku mahu promote, besides 2012.. Pisau Cukur also from the same production as above, starring Fazura and Maya Karin. This film’s totally different than Yusuf Haslam’s and his son’s of course! No offence.

How interesting would it be when having the President… at school?

I think children of Malaysia would love to see their Prime Minister too, face to face in an informal dialogue session as above.

That one was on September, where Barack Obama spoke to 9th grader at Wakefield High School in Virginia. Students were free to ask questions and Obama will straightly replies them. Cool isn’t it?

The essence of this video is highlighted at 1:40 when a student stood and said,

When I grow up, I’d like to have your job! Is there any advice you can give me, or career past that I..things that I need to know?

So Obama gave a practical tip saying that,

First of all, I want everybody here to be careful about what you post on Facebook. Because in the YoutTube age, whatever you do it will be pulled up again later somewhere in your life.

What I could conclude is, say that if you were really SOMEBODY in the future, there’ll always someone who is in state of jealousy over you. Worse, this guy may be the one who knows you since  school. And he knows your past. So he picks the dark one  and uses it against you to jeopardise your life. Be it a video, picture, or statement you once posted on Facebook.

This is somewhat similar to my Ustaz’s advice before we graduate from our secondary school. He reminded us not to involve in premarital sex or homosexual acts. If we were to be a noted individual in the future, they might come out of nowhere and ask for something valuable. And if you refuse, well.. they have past experience with you. So, it’s about manipulation to drop your reputation.

Today’s Breakfast Show on Fly Fm brought up the subject ‘what was the strangest place you’ve ever been?’. And Phat Fabes began with his, where he found a food stall besides the street somewhere in Sabah was sooo strange. Nobody’s seen to have looked over the lonely stall, but the fruits were there and money also.

So, people just went there by putting the money inside the box provided and take the fruits. In other words, we call it self-service.

But this scene is somewhat common in IIUM, isn’t it?

Q: What was the funniest thing people say about your appearance?

A: Frankly speaking I’m quite shy to say this.. Uhh..that my lips are pouting like Angelina Jolie!

Most has witnessed how well Beckham survives in this world. He earns money through his legs and his look with an extraordinary skills in kicking and posing. I don’t know you, but I noticed this years ago that Bex’s voice is actually the only drawback he possesses.  It sounds… very.. ah, just hear it HERE.

So do you know that Bex in currently undergoing an elocution lesson to improve his accent and tones? Yes, he does!

2008 Eidul Fitr' Nostalgia

Haa..last time was like singgah sahur kann. Haa, here I present you Sheila Rusly’s Ketuk-Ketuk Ramadan. As usual, I’ll change it my own way, diminishing the original format of the TV programme. Imagine this as a short interview. Enjoy..

How do you like Ramadhan and Eidul Fitr’?
An ustaz recently told that there’re blessings on 1st quarter of Ramadhan, forgiveness in the middle and freedom from hellfire at the end of it. That’s the main thing. Eidul Fitr’ would then be a month that we should all be grateful of towards Allah for abundance of his blessings, foods, family and friends… oxygen of course that keep us alive till now.

What else?
Great documentaries during Ramadhan since I love travelogue so much. I love the way they film people’s culture, you know..what they do during fasting month, various kind of breads from Middle East countries. And newspapers also show amazing pictures of them. Recent movies also being aired on all TV stations. They’re cool..

What will you be wearing for Raya prayer?
Jubah. It’s comfortable!

How many of them you have?
Like uhh.. three only. They’ll be more hopefully. haha. I think I wanna try Pakistani’s  errr..whatchamacallit. They seems nice on body.

Where’d you go to celebrate this year?
1st day would be in Ipoh. I overheard there’s a plan on going back to our hometown in Penang?? I feel delightful over it. More relatives there and the foods are great despite the hustle bustle in the island.

Any wish to people out there?
Yeah sure. I’d like to wish Happy Eidul Fitr’ to all lovely PENcritics, classmates, friends, staffs working around my university who have made our lives organised all these years, family and relatives and..pals I know through PENCIL and Facebook, as well as children and Muslims around the world. Chill~

Whoaa…gile artis kao Shamel??

I wish I could stay a little longer. Yeah..I should from the very first place. Huh~

So, I just wish you all safe ride, safe drive, safe journey back to your hometown lah. And uhh..sorry for everything. Hmm, that sounds unhappy. Anyway, see ya later okayh. I leave you with this following hadith:

So whenever Shamel has got no one to talk to, he turns to them. The loyalty they show never fade..

Memang Tuhan beri setiap orang 24 jam sehari. Kalau tak pandai manage, alasan paling common orang beri ialah “takde masa”!

Aku pon tak banyak masa sekarang ni. Aku hanya merancang, Dia menentukan. Di kesempatan ini, aku ucapkan Selamat Menyambut Ramadan al-Mubarak. Satu benda yang simple untuk aku ingatkan kamu dan diri aku. Tidak perlu nak beritahu, banyakkan beramal..sebab semua sedia maklum.

“Jaga mulut”. Bukan mudah tu.

Satu perkara yang berlaku pada kebanyakan orang yang berpuasa adalah berut berbunyi kruk..kruk..kruk.. Menandakan lapar. Bila bunyi itu muncul ketika di kalangan orang yang tidak kita kenali, huh! Segan!! Seriously..

I want my APPETITE back!
Dressing up this morning, I just found that the jeans and the shirt were not suited to me the way they should be. I became super-duper-skinny for not eating properly since the last 3 days.

I feel like “..an urchin, a wraith, or an underfed runt!” as what New York Times once reported.

Tidak mahulah menjadi seperti HANTU!

I'm like a bird..I'm only fly away

Waktu tu, dalam kelas. Fikiran aku melayang. Apa yang diajar, masuk mulut, keluar ikut punggung (lama fikir sebab seboleh-bolehnya tidak mahu ikut ayat tipikal; masuk telinga kanan, keluar telinga kiri).

Tumpuan aku mula kembali bila pensyarah memberi sebuah ungkapan:

Kehidupan burung banyak mengajar kita tentang kehidupan sebenar

Kurang faham. Jadi aku bayangkannya sebagai seorang manusia yang evolve sehingga tumbuh kepak dan boleh terbang ke sana sini, dan dapat melihat semua yang berlaku di bumi daripada langit. Dalam keadaan sekarang ni, kita hanya membaca dan mendengar. Perkara yang entah betul atau tidak, tapi manusia cepat mempercayai sumber itu.

Kita sudah diberi akal, tidak perlu menjadi burung yang boleh terbang. Tidak perlu menjadi kanggaru yang ada poket semula jadi. Tidak perlu jadi tupai kerana sepandai-pandai melompat, akhirnya jatuh ke tanah. Manusia adalah sebaik-baik ciptaan, boleh berfikir dan membuat justifikasi.

Ya, itu pekataan yang aku belajar hari ini. JUSTIFIKASI!

H1N1 is now globally pandemic, like other seasonal flu strains. We have to learn to co-exist with it. That is why we are carrying on with the Asian Youth Games, and will be carrying on with school re-opening and our National Day Celebrations in August, and F1. The reopening of schools will raise the risk of local transmission from infected students who recently return from overseas. That is why it is important to get the recently returned students to stay at home for a week before they rejoin schools. MOE will provide details soon.

Overall, life must continue as normally as possible. We will still take some targeted control measures, as and when an event occurs, e.g. to close a school when a significant cluster is found, or to isolate a competing team from other athletes as we did yesterday.

Ada sepasang burung matahari (sunbird.. betul ke?) laki bini yang, aku pasti, bininya sedang sarat mengandung.  Habis sabut tempat sirih melilit berserabai jadinya.  Aku pernah nampak dorang dua ekor pagut kat sabut sampai berserabut (eh, rhyme!).  Hendak dihalau, kasihan pulak.  Binatang dua ekor ‘tu nak membiak.  Hendak disembur dengan Shieldtox, pun tak sampai hati.  Dah namanya binatang.  Biarlah dorang berperangai macam binatang.  Pagut/Ragut/Rebut harta orang.  Hekhekhek.. maner ader menyindir?  Tak percaya tengok ni …

It was today. I went ballistic. You started disappearing. And then the truth surfaced. Now I can look back and smile.

Am listening to Pengertian by Harvey Malaiholo now. With the same stupid smile.

Life is full of stupidities.

Changes are always scary.  I’ve never been good at adapting to changes.  Let’s see for how long I can adapt to this fresh surrounding.

To hell.  Whoever said that life is fair?  And life is all about making changes.

Let’s see if this will bring about a fresh change.
