I’ve been watching Allen Iverson get it in on the basketball court since he was a hungry young Hoya at Georgetown, and then as he went on to change the game and league forever by completely thugging it out with raw emotion and passionate play. Over the past several years tho, his career and skills have taken a severe downturn, and in all honesty it’s been painful to watch. Now that there are rumors out of Memphis that A.I may be hanging it up, it really sucks to see it all end this way.  ESPN Reports:

Memphis Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley has shot down the idea that Allen Iverson is mulling retirement as he takes an indefinite leave of absence for a personal matter. Frustration stemming from his reserve role combined with the stress related to a recent family issue has caused Iverson to consider hanging up his jersey for good, The Commercial Appeal of Memphis reported Monday morning. But Heisley said there was no indication of such consideration by the 34-year-old guard, and the owner told the newspaper that “if he was going to retire, he’d tell me first.” Iverson returned to his home in Atlanta late last week with Heisley’s permission. “I expect him to come back,” Heisley said. “If he does retire, I’ll be tremendously disappointed. I feel bad because I don’t think that’s the way he should go out.”

I really dont hope he hangs it up like this. A.I is no doubt a hall of famer, but to leave the game so abruptly doesnt even do his career justice. A.I. is a passionate player, with the heart of a lion, I hope that he can fix his family shit and come finish out the season.

For those not in the know, the current owners of the Dodgers, Frank and Jamie McCourt are currently undergoing a bitter divorce(nothing knew for those that live in the 50/50 state), only in this particular case, the fate of the team may hang in the balance of the outcome of all this Rosey war shit. They already did the team low key dirty by announcing thier divorce the day before the Dodgers began their National League Championship with Philly. The L.A. Times has been reporting the bikering between the lawyers that represent the two, which is fairly typical in a high powered celebrity divorce, but things got turned up a notch today when the L.A. Times reported that Jamie may have an uphill battle trying to scoop up half the team. Peep:

In a new interview with Black Book, director Mary Harron dryly shares the revelation that Christian Bale’s inspiration for his pretty-damn-legendary performance in her American Psycho was none other than Tom Cruise. What’s more, there is previous online precedent to connect Cruise’s go-getter, ’80s attitude and famous physical regimen with Patrick Bateman’s yuppie, psychopathic shell.

How did you and Christian Bale develop his character in American Psycho?

Mary Harron: It was definitely a process. [Bale and I] talked a lot, but he was in L.A. and I was in New York. We didn’t actually meet in person a lot, just talked on the phone. We talked about how Martian-like Patrick Bateman was, how he was looking at the world like somebody from another planet, watching what people did and trying to work out the right way to behave. And then one day he called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy.

So there it is. The inspiration for one of the looniest, calculating serial killers to grace the silver screen, was inspired by This Guy.

There have been an abundance of new Cannibis Clubs popping up all over the Southland in the past few years, and the city of Los Angeles has attempted to ban and shut some of these Kush shops down. Well, the news today is that that’s not going to be happening anytime soon, because a Supreme Court judge has ruled the ban invalid, so for now, you can continue to cop your Strawberry Cough without worring about your shop getting shut down. Los Angeles’ ban on new medical marijuana dispensaries is invalid, a Superior Court judge said Monday in a decision that undermines the city’s 4-month-old drive to shut down hundreds of the stores. The judge issued an injunction banning enforcement of the moratorium against Green Oasis, a dispensary in Playa Vista that had challenged the ban. But city officials acknowledged the ruling would effectively block current efforts to enforce the ban against other dispensaries. The decision came on the day the Obama administration issued guidelines that limit federal prosecution of medical marijuana users and dispensaries. A Justice Department memo makes official a policy change that the president adopted earlier this year — one that inadvertently contributed to the city’s dizzying dispensary boom.
