Today – Monday April 9, 2012 – marks the 95th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

Michael Morrison was a Londoner and a soldier at Vimy Ridge. He passed away twenty years ago, but left this note for his family to share with anyone who wishes to learn a bit more about what it was like during one of the most important battles:

“That which causes us trials shall yield us triumph; and that which make our hearts ache shall fill us with gladness. The only true happiness is to learn, to advance, and to improve; which could not happen unless we had commence with error, ignorance, and imperfection. We must pass through the darkness, to reach the light.”

Michael Morrison’s family has been kind enough to share some of Michael’s belongings with us including his uniform, letters, and photos. We have a special exhibit set up at Museum London for the week, come check it out!
