This group was supposed to have been BANNED under Tony Blair’s 2006 Terrorism Act. In fact they DID fold-up operations for a bit, when they thought Blair was out to ban them. He was, but he didn’t. Insufficient support in parliament, even though this was only a few months after terrorists had bombed London.

Greyhound Canada says it will stop running buses on a number of inter-city routes in Ontario as of April 11.

Company vice-president Stuart Kendrick says the average number of passengers per trip on the affected routes is less than seven.

“Greyhound Canada takes this decision with great reluctance but with such low ridership, the financial case for maintaining service simply does not exist,” he said.

The route closures will affect service in 60 communities across eastern, central and southwestern Ontario.

Most of the cancelled routes are between Toronto and destinations north of the city such as Barrie and Orillia ? but service between Toronto and Ottawa will also be affected.

“The long-term future of Greyhound Canada’s cross-country operations including Ontario will rely upon the outcome of the federal-provincial-territorial working group that is due to recommend regulatory and policy changes in September 2010,” said Kendrick in a prepared statement. Tyra Banks has announced that she will no longer continue her talk show and confirmed her departure with People magazine, reports New York Times.

“This will be the last season of ‘The Tyra Show,’ ” Ms. Banks told People. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past five years.”

“The Tyra Show” has won Daytime Emmy Awards in the outstanding talk show category in 2008 and 2009 and had a dedicated fan base due to Banks’ reputation as a supermodel and reality TV star.

The current season of “The Tyra Banks Show” which is produced by Banks’ company Bankable Productions and Telepictures, will finish production in the spring. Banks has confirmed that she will remain involved with “America’s Next Top Model” and ABC’s “True Beauty,” but also plans to start a film production company called Bankable Studios.

“As the World Turns” has been on the air since 1956 and televised its 13,661st episode Tuesday. Its last episode will be next September, the network said.

Oh SNAP! Karo once again pulls out of a high-priority fight, this time giving a few days notice though instead of a few minutes prior to the weigh-ins.  I obviously don’t know the circumstances surrounding his decision to cancel, but hopefully it’s a good one (i.e. death in the family), and not a case of having sand in his vagina like he did last time when he was supposed to fight Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 88.  Needless to say, I think Dana’s got a lot of justification in reacting the way he is, and if he’s true to his words and is giving Karo the boot from the UFC, it looks like Strikeforce might have a new welterweight to add to their division.

I feel bad for his opponent though, badass submission ace Dustin “I’m not Jon Fitch” Hazelett, I don’t know if the UFC can find a replacement in time, I mean…if Dana called and asked me to fill in, I’d do it of course for the sake of the sport.  But finding a serious fighter with just a few days notice, who the hell knows! I really wanted to see this fight too, because Hazelett’s skills are a sight to behold, and seeing Karo get owned is always a plus.

Damn you Karo, and I though the Armenian MMA fighters were going to have a strong week of MMA, considering your boys Karen and Manny won their WEC fights last night.

Before finishing his 2009 U.S. tour, Jay-Z recently canceled the remaining shows on his schedule because of “unforeseen scheduling conflicts.”

According to MTV News, the remaining shows that have already been canceled include tonight’s show (November 17) in Lubbock, Texas; Thursday’s show (November 19) in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Friday’s performance (November 20) in El Paso, Texas. The tour’s finale, originally set for November 22 in Austin, Texas, was moved prior to the cancellation of the tour and took place on November 10 to allow time for Jay’s appearance at the 2009 American Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Although many fans are disappointed with the unforeseen cancellation of Jigga’s remaining shows, he happily announced a 2010 tour for The Blueprint 3, set to kick off in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in February. Jay is scheduled to perform in 17 cities across the country and conclude his tour in Detroit on March 14.

Even though Jay won’t finish out his tour, he never leaves his fans completely disappointed. On Monday night he jumped on stage with Rihanna in London to help promote her upcoming album, Rated R.

In other Hova news, hip-hop media blog Gyant Unplugged reports that the God MC will be returning to Saturday Night Live on December 19. Jay will be performing his current single “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys. It is also rumored that he will also do another comedy skit on the show. TLC gave Jon Gosselin red papers, lol. No, let me clarify.  Jon has a more limited role in the series JON & KATE PLUS 8! As of November 1 2009, the show will become KATE PLUS 8, which will focus on raising eight kids as a single mom.  Jon is expected to pop in and out of the show.   As of August, the show was at over 4 million but last week its down to 1.7 million viewers. This seems like a smart move after the recent divorce filed and papparazi showcase of the feuding couple.

Kate looks ready to fulfill her responsibility on the show to get some stardom, so lets hope Jon will find a great investment to venture off to.  He has been spotted with some great celebs, but when will the mojo run out and recognize he’s just like all of us.  That’s alot of kids, maybe Kate will make the next irrational move; i’m tuned in this fall on TLC.  You can check Kate on the Food Network as well as an appearance on the “The View”.

A really good friend of mine pointed out that maybe I should just wait and see how things go.  He reminded me that there are a billion people in the world and he also reminded me that it would be better to find out something sooner rather than later.  He put the whole thing in some perspecitve although it doesn’t magically fix everything.

At this point I’m wondering how much the entire relationship is worth.  We had officially been dating 2 weeks when I left school and the whole thing became long distance.  That was May 18th.  Here it is now June 29th and there doesn’t seem to be much hope of seeing him soon.  I never really thought about this before.  I know once he is in the Navy it will be likely we will not see each other for quite a long time, but this summer I was sure I would see him sooner.

Since our argument/fight my best friend hates N and thinks he is the biggest douche ever (although she hasn’t met him), my sister is iffy on the relationship, and my parents pretty much hate him and think I should meet someone who will actually be around.  As he cancels for the weekend that he thought he could be here which was July 10th no one has anything nice to say.  I’ve been told, “obviously he doesn’t care about seeing you anytime soon.” His reason for not coming is money and more the fact that his tires are bad.  All the same I recently asked him about the tires and he was sure he would be fine driving here on them.

His plan was to come up here on July 10th and then get the tires on after the 15th with his new paycheck.  It sounded like it would work and I was looking forward to it and then today that changes rather abruptly.  The fact that he didn’t actually state that he couldn’t come, but instead mentioned that he was partying with his brother and his brother’s girlfriend (who is visiting that weekend) makes the whole thing seem like there must be another reason or that he really doesn’t feel like making the effort.

I know he has money problems and some big bills to pay, but at the same time this whole thing is rather depressing. Relationships are supposed to be for the most part enjoyable and I feel like this one may not be able to hold up to that.

It appears as though Amazon’s email to affiliates regarding North Carolina’s pending taxes was not a bluff. I just received a follow-up email from the company saying it has decided to shut down its affiliate program in the state, as of today.

This is a direct result of the unconstitutional tax collection scheme expected to be passed any day now by the North Carolina state legislature (the General Assembly) and signed by the governor. It’s interesting that Amazon has shut the program down before the legislation passes. Could it be that the NC lawmakers thought Amazon was bluffing too? Did Amazon close the program early so that affiliates would still have time to ramp up their complaints to the General Assembly.

Of course, there are plenty of other companies that will keep their affiliate programs running in NC–though Commission Junction doesn’t appear to be one of them–but will there be enough actual affiliate revenue to tax after this?

This was all expected, wasn’t it?  We watched them feud and some even criticized over the treatment of the kids in all this.  I admit, it is hell to manage 8 kids and we may not be perfect, but this seems to be more than just the kids now. With all the money funnelling in from the show, I believe money has changed this 10 year marriage.  The road of marriage is difficult and if one party becomes to self-centered, it will never work, as an underlying sympathy for the relationship as a whole must always weigh more than your personal goals.  It took 10 years for this? No, it took 10 thousand paid a few too many times (actually 75,000 each episode).  Kate has been spotted in my home state of North Carolina at the beach, looking quite amazing!  From giving birth, she has managed to get surgery to get her physique back better than what it was before the kids.  She is turning into a star, and poor John is not gonna be disrespected or treated less of man ( my opinion, lol)  So today, on the big announcement of June 22, John sat on the same couch, the one that they once was cuddled up telling their life on, then later shown with space between them after an arguement, and now, separated, with only Jon sitting on the couch to announce his plans for a mutual divorce.  Kate was recorded also as the show switched back and forth to their opinions.  This caused a great buzz on Twitter today with Trending topics of this and Perez Hilton.  Updated:  TLC is reportedly not happy with the announcement and will review the contract with Jon & Kate Plus 8  <read more from TLC: click here>.  More details to come!

ZURICH — Ice hockey’s governing body cancelled next season’s European club championship on Monday because of financial problems with sponsors.

The International Ice Hockey Federation said the Champions Hockey League would not be played but could return in 2010, backed by the National Hockey League.

It had set a mid-June deadline for the NHL to invest and save next season’s competition after original sponsor Gazprom pulled out.

“After months of negotiations we came to the conclusion that it is better to postpone the Champions Hockey League (and) restart in 2010-2011,” IIHF president Rene Fasel said in a statement.

“As the original investors unexpectedly withdrew from their three-year agreement after the inaugural season as a direct result of the worldwide economic recession, and given the current economic environment, we believe it is better to take the necessary time and ensure conditions are right for the continuation of the league,” Fasel said.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said he believed the CHL could still offer a solid foundation to develop the game internationally.

“We have advised the IIHF of our willingness to offer resources and strategic contributions toward the pursuit of that objective,” Bettman said.

The league was launched a year ago with Russian energy supplier Gazprom as main sponsor and 10 million euros (C$15.6 million) in prize money.

The inaugural championship was played with 12 teams from seven countries and was won by Swiss club Zurich Lions.

An expansion to 29 teams from 22 countries next season was originally planned, but that was scaled back and it was set to repeat in the same format.

Fasel said the organizers felt “deep regret” toward clubs, and their fans, who had qualified for the next CHL.

“We are committed to come back stronger than ever and we will immediately resume our negotiations with the National Hockey League,” he said.

The cancellation Monday does not affect the million-dollar Victoria Cup challenge match which pits the European champion against an invited NHL side.

Zurich will face the Chicago Blackhawks on its home Hallenstadion ice Sept. 29.
