A primeira série que é alimentada algumas vezes no mês é Nostalgia onde mostro algumas canções antigas do meio evangélico, que poderiam muito bem ser cantadas hoje, mas por causa dessa indústria capitalista, estão sendo esquecidas.

Outra série é a Curti… Postei… onde eu coloco pra vocês post, vídeos, fatos interessantes, que eu curti e postei (hehe).

E hoje dando início a mais uma empreitada, começo com a série “DROGAS TÔ FORA!”

Porque começar essa série?

Em primeiro lugar, nossa juventude tem que se ligar dos males que as drogas fazem ao nosso organismo.

Em segundo lugar, porque eu fui convidado para dar uma palestra sobre isso na rede de jovens da minha igreja, e consegui criar um material bem interessante sobre o assunto.

Vou falar sobre drogas lícitas e ilícitas.

Então vamos começar com uma das mais famosas a MACONHA!!!

Cânabis ou canábis (do gênero Cannabis), popularmente maconha, marijuana, ganja (do sânscrito गांजा,transl. gañjā, “cânhamo“) ou suruma (em Moçambique) refere-se a um número de drogas psicoativas derivadas da planta Cannabis.

A forma herbácea da droga consiste de flores femininas maturas e nas folhas que subtendem das plantas pistiladas (femininas). A forma resinosa, conhecida como haxixe, consiste fundamentalmente de tricomas glandulares coletados do mesmo material vegetal.

O principal composto químico psicoativo presente na cânabis é o Δ9-tetrahidrocanabinol (delta-9-tetrahidrocanabinol), comumente conhecido como THC – cuja concentração média é de até 8%, mas algumas variedades de maconha (cruzamentos entre a espécie Cannabis sativa e aCannabis indica) comumente conhecidas como skunk (“cangambá“, em inglês) produzem recordes na marca de 33% de THC. Pelo menos 66 outros canabinóides estão presentes na Cannabis, como o canabidiol (CBD) e o canabinol (CBN), muitos dos quais causam interações psicoativas.

Tudo isso é só para evitar a concorrência, porque não é Hollywood, mas é todo sucesso. Muito se fala do tal monopólio da maconha. Resta saber se o real monopólio está nas mãos dos traficantes ou nas mãos de pessoas com cargos elevados, jurídica, etc. A verdade é que muita gente pensa pela lado positivo e muita gente pensa pelo lado negativo, e assim nunca chegaremos a uma conclusão. Essa briga será eterna.

É fácil achar opiniões diversificadas, basta saber onde procurar. A maconha não é usado apenas por delinquentes. A maconha não é descriminada apenas por religiosos. A maconha não escolhe raça, classe ou cor. Sua liberação ou proibição vai da opinião de cada um. E não são apenas duas vertentes, e sim três. Quem é usuário, quem não é usuário e defende e quem não é usuário e não defende. Aliás, caberia um quarto: quem não é usuário e não está nem aí pra isso. Porém, ainda existem as opiniões que visam a maconha para comércio, e não apenas uso. Quem usa compra ou planta. Quem planta usa ou vende. Quem vende, as vezes nem usa e leva aquele dinheiro para outro lugar. O crime. Daí o dinheiro se transforma em armas. Como acabar com isso? Alguns diriam que liberando, mas quem vai garantir que quem planta, para uso, não irá vender ou dar? É um assunto complicado, pois implica em cada cabeça que for usufruir do direito de liberação.

O interessante é ver como a liberação não afeta alguns locais. No mundo, existem cidades que vendem não apenas drogas – não todas – mas prostituição e sexo em locais públicos. Bom, levando em conta que estamos falando do uso de drogas – ou da natureza – podemos afirmar que a prostituição também gera riscos de saúde – ainda mais dependendo do produto oferecido, hehehe -, assim como o álcool e o cigarro. Só que o cigarro e o álcool não caíram tanto nas graças do crime, pelo menos atualmente. Como explicar essas cidades? Dentro dela, as coisas fluem. Se em algum lugar por lá se vende drogas para fora do país, especialmente países que não possuem liberação do produto, é outra história. Aliás, se essa passagem é realizada de alguma forma, para chegar até aqui sem problemas, por exemplo, o problema é nosso, e não deles. Se a proibição é a solução, tem que se fazer direito. Hoje o número de usuários de maconha é gigante, concluindo que as leis sobre drogas, assim como todas as outras, não adiantam no Brasil. Não seria melhor sentar e tentar resolver esse problema melhor? Pegar cada um responsável por setor coincidente e projetar algo amplo? Sim, seria. O problema é isso ser feito. Afinal, como eu já disse, muitas pessoas lucram com o tráfico, e como a maconha não escolhe nem raça, nem cor, nem classe, muito menos conduta de vida/ética, ela também está em mãos poderosas muito além das de um traficante.

Hoje em dia é mais importante gastar bilhões em projetos esportivos – Pan-Americano, Copa, Olimpíadas – que em projetos sociais, leis de segurança, saúde, educação e por aí vai. Não estou dizendo que esse gasto com projetos esportivos não será bom para o nosso país, mas creio que antes estejamos necessitando de outras coisas. A prioridade não existe e com isso vamos “crescendo” de qualquer jeito.

That’s the good news for us medical marijuana patients.  The Hummingbird Healing Center is close to St. Joseph’s Hospital and near the bus.

Thanks to the stupidity of the Eureka City Council and City Manager this dispensary will provide NO TAX REVENUE to our cash strapped city because it is located OUTSIDE the city limits.

Way to go.  Now maybe these idiots will come to their senses and allow reasonable medical marijuana in the city that is the capitol of the Emerald Triangle.  One can only hope for intelligence in government.  Of course I mean institutional stupidity.  Councilmember Linda Atkins brought this forth courageously a few months ago and I hope she revisits it now that the dank is out of the bag.

San Diego Medical Marijuana Providers Latest Target as Aggressive Raids Continue

Enforcement action occurs the day after approval of San Diego medical marijuana task force

San Diego, CA — Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the nationwide patients’ rights advocacy organization, received reports today of several medical marijuana raids in the San Diego area by federal and local law enforcement. Today’s raids by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, with the support of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), occurred only a day after the San Diego City Council voted 6-1 to implement a medical marijuana task force to help the city draft local laws.

“Not only does the federal government have no place helping to enforce state and local medical marijuana laws,” said ASA California Director Don Duncan. “Local officials must regulate medical marijuana and enforce those laws with civil actions, not with the barrel of a gun.” According to local media, the raids were part of an ongoing investigation involving San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, a notorious opponent of medical marijuana. “It is incumbent on District Attorney Dumanis to help pass local regulations in San Diego not to aggressively undermine safe access to medical marijuana,” continued Duncan.

Law enforcement was reported handcuffing and detaining several people on the scene of more than a half dozen raids. In typical fashion for such raids, medical marijuana, cash and other property has been seized. No violations have been alleged at this time. For years, safe access to medical marijuana in San Diego has been resisted by local officials, repeatedly calling on the federal government to conduct raids. In 2007 and 2008, continued federal and local raids forced the closure of more than 20 medical marijuana dispensing collectives. However, after the California Attorney General issued medical marijuana guidelines in August 2008, recognizing the legality of dispensing collectives, medical marijuana providers began operating again in San Diego.

Two weeks ago, the California Senate voted 23-15 on a resolution urging the federal government to end medical marijuana raids and to “create a comprehensive federal medical marijuana policy that ensures safe and legal access to any patient that would benefit from it.” Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 14, introduced in June by State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) seeks to keep local enforcement in the hands of local officials and calls on Congress and the President to move forward with a new federal policy on medical marijuana.

Despite a presidential campaign promise made by Barack Obama, that he will not “be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws,” federal raids have continued under his Administration. “It’s of utmost importance that the Obama Administration give deference to local officials to implement local and state medical marijuana laws,” continued Duncan.

Oregon Veteran Activist Wants PTSD Added to Medical Marijuana Program

The proposed OMMP change will keep vets out of the penal system.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – An Oregon man is trying to change the rules for medical marijuana patients, allowing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to be included among the relevant conditions that allow a doctor to authorize the use.

The state of Oregon has a chance to help veterans, reduce legal and court cost, and step forward in line with California, Canada and Israel in accepting that cannabis is a usable treatment and sometimes smart option for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Activist Ed Glick and Attorney Lee Berger, are attempting to demonstrate to Oregon’s Department of Human Services how and why allowing PTSD to the list of acceptable conditions will benefit veterans. U.S. jails and prisons are packed with war veterans on minor drug charges, which include marijuana.

Hello my name is Joseph Malone and I would like to share my story with you as well as ask for Court Support on August 20th, 2009.

In late March of 2008 I consulted with a San Diego attorney to discus the laws, policies, and procedures to operating a legal (under state law) medical marijuana dispensary.

On April 2nd 2009 I went to the San Diego Board of Equalization (BOE) to apply for a sellers permit (for dispensing medical marijuana to qualified San Diego residents/patients requesting help to obtain medical marijuana).

After filling out my application I was directed to BOE agent Mr. Pagan. Mr. Pagan reviewed my application and stated to me “you will need to call San Diego PD Vice Department to be sure you are in compliance with state and local laws.”(regarding dispensaries) Mr. Pagan called directly to the SDPD Vice Department from his desk. He listened in as I asked if I would be violating any state or local laws/ordinances. The SDPD Vice officer stated to me “we are no longer policing medical marijuana there is no longer a medical marijuana task force”. After confirming I would not be in violation Mr. Pagan then proceeded to issue a temporary sellers permit as well as a temporary conditional use permit.

Mr. Pagan then directed me to follow through with the next step which would be applying for a business license at San Diego treasury office. Following advice of the BOE agent that was same advice I received from my attorney, I went to the treasury office and filled out a business tax application.

The business tax application required I list all business activity so zoning can properly review application. I list business activity as ” I will be dispensing amounts less than 28 grams of medical marijuana to members requesting my help as a care giver to obtain their medical marijuana or medical marijuana edibles”. I paid fees and was issued a temporary business license. I questioned the agent at the treasury office about my application. “Do I need to contact the police deptartment, or any other law enforcement offices?” I asked. I was told “No. My application would be sent for review by zoning and that they would notify me if there were any other issues.”

After about 2 weeks I received via US mail my official business license and sellers permit as well as conditional use permit (from BOE). On April 20th 2008 (yes that is 4-20) Safe California Access opened its doors to the medical marijuana community of San Diego believing we were complying with both local and state laws regarding medical marijuana dispensaries.

Soon after I was told by the California Department of Health Services (CDHS) directly that they were not issuing applications or accepting them for their medical marijuana program. I made e-mail attempts to request help from Mr. Ed Plank of the San Diego Mayors Office with applications for state ID cards for myself and Safe California Access Members. I also offered the mayor’s office my help and the help of Safe California Access members to donate funds or equipment needed to help implement an ID card system in San Diego. An ID card system that would help begin to develop an open honest communication with law enforcement, the district attorneys office, and CDHS. To develop a stronger evaluation process for medical marijuana patients and to help create a safer environment for all.

Now we jump forward to July 23rd 2008 when an undercover San Diego police officer came to Safe California Access (after going to another dispensary that he received complaints about, which posted a sign “Closed for remodeling. Go see Joseph at Safe California Access.”) The officer did just that. He came posing as a qualified medical marijuana patient who needed help obtaining some medicine. After calling to verify this individual’s recommendation (that was valid according to Doctor’s receptionist) the officer filled out a caregiver consent form which designated Safe California Access as his primary caregiver.

Once the file was created to keep the patient’s information and copies of his recommendation and driver license, the patient (officer) indicated he would like to obtain some medical marijuana to relieve his pain. I then allowed this patient into a secure locked medicine room (members only allowed). He requested one half ounce of medicine I charged the officer $200.00 plus the $15.50 State sales tax for a total of $215.50.

After helping this officer, whom I believed was requesting my assistance to obtain medicine recommended by his doctor, he requested a search warrant and was granted one by a local judge using words like “drug dealer, profit, illegal, and federal law”. On August 5th 2008 I was served a search warrant at 3914 Murphy Canyon Road. SDPD officers arrested me and charged me with “possession with intent to sell.”

My trial is set for August 20th 2009.

South Dakota Supreme Court Tell Police To Back Off

The South Dakota Supreme Court has limited the ability of police to search and interrogate innocent interstate travelers absent a reasonable and articulable suspicion of wrongdoing. The court considered the unique case of a vehicle search not made pursuant to a traffic stop, but while the owner was being detained before entering his vehicle.
