Escena de Soul Kitchen

Gracias a un acuerdo entre el Incaa Film Institute y el Comité Organizador del Festival de Cannes, se estará presentando en Buenos Aires la Primera Semana del Cine Europeo en Argentina, en donde los espectadores de esta ciudad podrán ver una selección de las mejores cintas que se hayan presentado durante el mismo. Una de las más comentadas es Soul Kitchen, de Fatih Akin, aunque parece que habrá otros títulos también muy interesantes.

Occidente la película de Cristian Mungiu retrata la vida en Rumania de una manera muy particular y narra la historia entretejida de varios personajes entrañables, una pareja que se separa, el amor entre un hombre con botarga de botella de cerveza y  una mujer con botarga de teléfono celular, un italiano nacido en mozambique, un coronel de la policía casado con la directora de un horfanato y obviamente los mal portados niños del horfanato, hacen todos ésta particular visión de la Rumania moderna, comedia que nos sorprende con el manejo de los tiempos y las situaciones. Se presentará en La Sociedad del Cine Tlatelolco éste miércoles 25 de Noviembre a las 20:30 hrs., recuerda que si mencionas que leiste ésta nota te regalaremos un libro de colección sobre cine especial para cinéfilos. 1992: The Bad Lieutenant di Abel Ferrara

I 98 minuti forse più crudi e morbosi del cinema americano in un film giustamente celebre e celebrato.

La discesa agli Inferi di un essere umano, un trovare il Divino che è in ognuno di noi, la colpa e il perdono costituiscono il tema portante di questo intenso lavoro (surreale ed estremamente realistico al contempo): ritratto di un individuo (“abitatore del sottosuolo e scalatore del cielo”, Roberto Escobar) che è metafora del male della società contemporanea, viaggio angoscioso dalla perdizione alla redenzione tra l’indifferenza generale.

La ricerca del significato da dare alla vita in un film che colpisce come un pugno nello stomaco nella sua sgradevolezza e che mostra senza veli un mondo dominato da perversioni sessuali, droga, alcol, bisogno di danaro… Non sappiamo perché il protagonista si è ridotto così: al regista interessa mostrarci il “nulla” in cui è caduto ed Abel Ferrara è più audace del Martin Scorsese (col quale condivide l’amore-odio per la religione cattolica) di Mean Streets e Taxi driver, nell’illustrare una città, un ambiente, un uomo… più animaleschi che umani, disperati e autolesionisti nella loro abiezione.

Gabriele Niola ha giustamente scritto: “Il Cattivo Tenente è uno dei più lucidi viaggi nella redenzione umana, quasi un percorso di santità fatto camminando di spalle”. Un film senza misura, esasperato, “eccessivo”, provocatorio, smodato, disturbante… Un film in cui “il divino e il diabolico stanno l’uno nell’altro: ognuno funziona come uno specchio sulla cui superficie si riflette l’altro” (Il Sole 24 Ore). Un film da vedere e rivedere, che fa riflettere e discutere, che scuote la nostra coscienza e ci pone mille interrogativi.

Un intero cast dalla performance eccezionale. Un indimenticabile Harvey Keitel dalla bravura impressionante, tragicamente grande.

Una fotografia altamente suggestiva (in perfetta armonia col tema del film), una colonna sonora appropriata e mai invadente, un montaggio sapiente e serrato arricchiscono questo lavoro presentato al 45° Festival di Cannes.

Da condividere in pieno quanto scrisse Paolo D’Agostini su Repubblica: “Raramente un film è riuscito ad essere più cupo, mortuario, senza un filo d’aria; a dispetto del suo contenuto abbondantemente blasfemo, dovrebbe interessare chi osserva l’uomo secondo un punto di vista cristiano. Raccomandarne la visione ai deboli di stomaco sarebbe cattiveria, ma anche non segnalarne la forte personalità – non superficialmente appagata di scandalo e morbosità – sarebbe una grave omissione”.

Ésta película de Lee Chang Dong, es una obra maestra trabjada en reversa, es decir comenzamos en el tiempo actual y vamos hacia atras en el tiempo para descubrir al personaje Sr. Kim en su vida y cómo es que todos los hechos están conectados, magistralmente realizada y con estupendas actuaciones es una muestra del mejor cine asiático contemporáneo, se presenta éste domingo 22 de Noviembre a las 17:00 hrs en La Sociedad del Cine Tlatelolco que si mencionas que leíste ésta nota te regalaremos un libro dedicado a Harmony Corine, cineasta estadounidense muy importante creador de Gummo y Kids.

Un misterioso árbol llamado Carisma es el eje fundamental de éste magnífico film japonés del director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, que en una elaborada y compleja metáfora nos muestra la relación dialéctica de éste árbol con el resto del mundo, la proyección de la película será éste 21 de Noviembre a las 17:00 hrs en la Sociedad del Cine Tlatelolco, los esperamos. “bonjour mon ami…” from southern france!

 using “rick steves’ provence & the french riviera guidebook“ (a.k.a. our “other” bible in southern france), vivien outlined a tour de southern france via our avis rental car: an opel. definitely a different experience for me… cause when i vacation, i tend to stay in one hotel/location for the duration of the stay and take a taxi. the long, windy and scenic roads from town to town were pretty fun to drive.

not knowing what to expect for the city driving/parking conditions, it was crazy and stressful! the streets were SO narrow and often-times one-way and it was shared by cars, bicyclists, scooters, cats and dogs all at the same time! in most intersections, they had these roundabouts that were a bit confusing as well… and just required you to pretty much close your eye and jump into the circle of death and drive around until you find the right road to get off to! you just had to pay attention to the many arrowed signs and pray you chose the right one!

when in doubt... always head toward "centre ville"...

- aix en provence:  a happening place where one can enjoy people watching and modern shopping all while checking out some great museums dedicated to van gogh + cezanne.

- arles:  van gogh called this place home for some time. here is where we also experienced “le mistral” for the first time. passing through the valleys of the rhone and durance rivers, the wind that blew through the streets and the open courtyards were UNREAL! there were times when i opened our rental car doors and really believed the door would rip off from the sheer strength of the mistral!
- st. remy:  great cafés and even greater chocolates! (and van gogh committed himself to an insane asylum in this city).
- les baux

home of "château des baux"... a fortified castle built in the 10th century. one of the most beautiful historic castle/site in france!

- avignon:  we stayed inside the walls of this once fortified city. it is well known for its “palais des papes” (palace of the popes), where several popes and antipopes lived from the early 14th to early 15th centuries and “pont-saint bénézet” (bridge of st. bénézet).

- orange:  seeing the theatre was seriously humbling. since we went kinda late in the tourist season, it was pretty much empty when we got there. and to enter this incredible structure… and taking the site all in gave me goosebumps + chills. to imagine what it must’ve been like in the past when it was filled to capacity and full of energy! the funniest part, was this lone cat that i had to take a picture of… so patiently sitting/waiting in seat 65 for some show to begin. hey andy, can this pic be submitted to http://icanhascheezburger.com/?

- uzes
- cassis:  a small, quaint seaside port city… it’s referred to as “the poor man’s st. tropez“. this place was definitely my fav! if i go back, i’d stay here longer for sure. the vibe in this place was so nice and relaxed! and after being in the larger cities of aix en provence, arles and avignon, coming here was a great change of pace. the restaurants and shops near the water and the ocean view were breath-taking. cassis is also known for their  magnificent ”calanques” (see picture below). when we return to southern france in the future, we hope to spend more time here so we can charter a boat to the callanque en vau and spend the day on the beach (pictured below viv) and swim the crystal clear waters! t+t, bring your snorkel, mask + fins and join us… oui oui!

after an aftenoon coffee + gelato, a stroll to the beachfront does a soul good!

i scream, you scream, we all scream for gelato!

after hiking 1.5 hours we arrived to callanque en vau. your own private beach!

and then off to côte d’azur (a.k.a. “the french riviera“):
- cannes
- monaco:  i have NEVER seen so many maseratis, bentleys, rolls royces, and aston martins in my life. i thought viv + i would get shot for driving our rental opel through here.

the casino monte carlo... where true ballaz go to play! there's an admission fee just to get in and gamble!

- eze village
- nice: definitely a tourist mecca. they had an incredible open market on most mornings which looked like pike place market times 10. and the beachfront here was off the chart. seeing the ocean’s color at sunset almost looked fake. viv + i visited the marc chagall biblical museum (prior to going, i had never heard of this artist and after visiting, i am now a HUGE fan of his work) and saw his 12 paintings depicting various stories from genesis + exodus of the old testament (he also has 5 paintings inspired by song of songs). all i could do was just stand speechless and be mesmerized as i looked at each of the paintings. you could literally spend hours looking at each drawing. so much was conveyed through these paintings (the user of shapes and amazing colors)… a reminder to keep being creative and explore how art and faith intersects in my life.

Penélope Cruz e Almodóvar em Cannes (Reuters)

O Globo Online traz matéria em que Penélope Cruz fala sobre cenas de nudez, rótulos e o “ano dos sonhos” coroado por dois filmes que devem estrear em breve:

O primeiro é “Abraços Partidos”, do diretor espanhol Pedro Almodóvar, sua quarta colaboração com o cineasta que ajudou a fazer dela uma estrela. O segundo é o musical “Nine” do diretor Rob Marshall, que desafiou suas habilidades de canto e dança.

Os dois filmes esperam obter alguma atenção de quem vota no Oscar, e depois de ganhar a estatueta da Academia de Hollywood pelo papel na comédia de Woody Allen “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, Penélope está mais uma vez no centro de rumores para um Oscar -em dobro.

Non avrei scomesso un euro su questo film prima di avere letto questo.

E io che pensavo che l’Oscar per il documentario andasse, liscio liscio, a Michael Moore per “Capitalism: A Love Story“.

L’arrivo lassù dell’amata nonna che gli comunica la leggerezza di chi ha vissuto tanto e ha imparato ad accettare la vita per com’è, sembrerebbe la chiave risolutiva per salvarlo. Sotto, la realtà invadente, l’indifferenza e il cinismo dei mass-media lo assediano mentre gli amici confusi e superficiali si producono, involontariamente, in performance esilaranti nel tentativo di raggiungerlo.

Anna Falchi che produce un film in cui interpreta una sorta di Raffaella Carrà che specula sulle disgrazie dela gente?

Io ancora non ci credo e voi? E mi dispiace per Ambra Angioini, ecco.

Le vacanze così accuratamente organizzate da Albert prendono così una nuova piega, che a Jeanne pare non dispiacere …

Tutti parlano troppo male di questo film che parla di un difficile rapporto padre figlia.

It has been way too long since we saw a hot man bein’ hot of the day around here. Vincent Cassel, take it away!

Brilliant oddball Vincent Cassel is married to a personal heroine, Monica Bellucci — ten years in August. Impressive! He is a director, actor, writer and musician. Generally he plays maniacs and bad guys (I love crazy).

He has said of his being typecast in tough guy parts, “It’s all right. I like playing baddies.” The first role in which I ever saw him was as Gilles de Rais in Luc Besson’s 1999 film The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, which for my Catholic, action-movie-loving, Milla-Jovovich-adoring money is one of the best freakin’ movies evah.

Some of Vincent’s english-language credits from which you might recognize him include Elizabeth, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, Eastern Promises, and the forthcoming Darren Aronofsky picture Black Swan, which will also star Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder, and Barbara Hershey (freaking awesome).

A musician among his other many talents, Vincent performed the song “Step Da Step Krugom” in Eastern Promises. He also appeared as the voice of Monsieur Hood and sang the gay, snappy little Merry Men number in Shrek — you know, the scene in the wood where Princess Fiona kicks their asses all Matrix style.

Pelicula romano-franceza “Cenusa si sange” (Cendres et Sang), coprodusa de Libra Film, scrisa si regizata de o debutanta in regie, actrita Fanny Ardant, a intrat in selectia festivalului de la Cannes si spune povestea lui Judith , care se intoarce acasa la 10 ani dupa asasinarea sotului ei.

Multi ani, Judith a refuzat sa se intoarca in tara sa natala, dar la 10 ani dupa ce sotul ei a fost ucis, ea decide sa renunte la temeri si secrete si accepta invitatia familiei ei la o nunta. Aceasta intoarcere ii redeschide lui Judith vechi rani si toti cei care o intalnesc in calatoria ei sunt siliti sa se confrunte cu propriile lor trecuturi. Violenta provoaca violenta, chiar si dupa 10 ani, iar personajele sunt foarte bine evidentiate de catre regizoare in concordanta cu tema principala a filmului.

“Cenusa si sange” este coprodus de Tudor Giurgiu (presedintele TIFF) iar din distributie fac parte mai multi actori romani: Tudor Aaron Istodor, Olga Tudorache, Ion Besoiu, Andrei Finti si Razvan Vasilescu.

მინდა წარმოგიდგინოთ ოთხი მოკლემეტრაჟიანი ანიმაციური ფილმი. თითოეული გამორჩეული და ჩემის აზრით შთამბეჭდავია თავის ჟანრში.

1)KJFG

ნამდვილად არ ვიცი რას ნიშნავს ეს სათაური რომლითაც მთელი სერიაა დასათაურებული დათვის, მგლისა და კურდღლის ისტორიებისა.  ბრემენელი მუსიკოსებისა და ქართველი სოფლის “მშენებლების” საუცხოო სიმბიოზს ჰგავს ეს რუსული ანიმაცია. სულ რაღაც ორი წუთი გრძელდება ფილმი, თუმცა ეს დრო სრულიად საკმარისია გულიანად სიცილისა და პერსონაჟების შესაყვარებლად. მათი მოძრაობის მანერა და გამოხედვები ყველაზე ცუდ შემთხვევაში გაგაღიმებთ.

2)Kiwi

არსებობს ასეთი ფრინველის სახეობა – კივი. ამ ჯიშის ფრთოსნებს ფრენა არ შეუძლიათ. მულტფილმის მთავარი პერსონაჟის ოცნებაა თუნდაც ერთხელ გაფრინდეს და ის ამას ყველაზე ორიგინალური მეთოდით აკეთებს. ძალიან მაგარი სცენარია და მთლიანად ფარავს იმ ფაქტს, რომ ანიმაცია ძალიან ცუდია.

მომხიბვლელი ისტორიაა სევდიანი ფინალით.

3)Partly Cloudy

სტუდია Pixar–ზე არერთხელ დამიწერია და მიტქვამს, რომ ვაღმერთებ ამ კომპანიას თავისი ქმნილებების გამო. სრულმეტრაჟიან მულტფილმებს რომ თავი დავანებო, მოკლემეტრაჟიანი ანიმაციები არანაკლებ მაღალხარისხოვანი და დახვეწილი გაკეთებულია.

ეს მულტფილმი ძალიან ემოციური გამოდგა ჩემთვის. პატარა ბავშვივით ვხტუნავდი სავარძელში ფილმის ყურებისას, ფინალზე ტაში შემოვცხე სიხარულისაგან და კიდევ ერთხელ დავლოცე პიქსარის თანამშრომელთა ტვინები.

4) REACH

Wow. mind blowing creation.  ძალიან ლამაზი და ჭკვიანურად გაკეთებული მულტფილმი. თითოეული დეტალი აღტაცებას იწვევს მულტფილმში, დაწყებული გარემოდან დამტავრებული მთავარი პერსონაჟით. ისტორია ოცნებაზე რომელიც ასე ახლოსაა ხოლმე და ასე ძნელია მისწვდე. ალბათ უკეთესია ვარსკვლავის მოწყვეტისას დაიწვა ვიდრე მიწიდან მის ცქერაში სიბერემ შეგჭამოს და შენი ცხოვრების ყველაზე დასამახსოვრებელი ეპიზოდი მეორე კურსზე დალეული ორი ლიტრი ლუდი იყოს ან სამსახურში თანამშრომელთან წაგებული “ვირი ვარ და ვყვირივარ”. ბრავო შემქმნელს.

Da Cannes arriva la grande notizia, Clint Eastwood riporterà sul grande schermo il mitico personaggio dell’ispettore Callaghan; nonostante l’età il nostro si cimenterà in ben due pellicole: Ispettore Callaghan: l’ospizio è tuo, dove lo vedremo fare i conti con vecchi boss paraplegici che seminano il terrore negli ospizi della città, e Coraggio fatti intubare torbida storia di spie e senili amori passionali, sparatorie e inseguimenti in sedia a rotelle. Poi il tanto atteso Che di Steven Cronemberg; storia di un sordo che non fa altro che urlare alle persone: “Che?!”, “Che dici?”, “Che?!”. Un giorno conosce una ragazza che gli chiede di sposarla, commovente il modo con cui si rivolge a lei: “Che?” Per tutto il film (la durata è di 368 minuti) il nostro eroe sordo urla: “Che?!” fin quando, nella sequenza finale, dopo essere stato preso a calci da alcuni mendicanti, sussurra, grondando sangue denso dal naso: “Che?!” sulle note sognanti di Ennio Morricone, tornato finalmente al cinema di impegno con musica dodecafonica.
Molto belle anche due commedie: Solo un bacio per favore e Sfiorarsi: storie di ragazzi sfigati che si accontentano di poco, mentre le loro fidanzate sognano Hard Sex in the city che presto uscirà nelle sale. Tutte pellicole leggere, svolazzanti, adatte al clima estivo e ai teneroni. Per i nostalgici del film drammatico c’è invece: Indiana Jones e il regno del teschio di cristallo nascosto dentro una tomba etrusca adibita a vespasiano e sotto una montagna di sterco caprino coperta di muffa. Imperdibile, anche se è bene non soffermarsi a leggere il titolo prima di entrare al cinema, in molti hanno perso la sequenza iniziale dove il famoso archeologo cosparge di miele e yogurt la bellissima Angelina Jolie appena uscita dalla doccia, calda e fumante come una lasagna.

Una folle guida ‘indie’ al festival più snob e stronzo dell’universo. Imperdibile

this short film is on the winners of the 2009 cannes lions! the story is about a man and a woman who are getting to know each other by using signs. : )

This is a video from our good friend Chris Jones, as a rough guide to Cannes.  It is a must for anyone who has not been before.

Hilarant ? Non. Génial ? Je ne sais pas. Bien filmé ? Disons qu’il y a un effort de “style”. En revanche je demande pourquoi il est possible de lire sur l’affiche du film « Notre Palme ! » ? Peut-être que finalement ce sont les Papis qui font de la résistance mais que ça ne prend plus. Quand on voit Les Herbes Folles, le dernier Alain Resnais, ce qui marque, ou plutôt ne marque pas (un peu comme la tisane) c’est le génie d’un réalisateur qui ne mérite pas beaucoup plus que la palme «d’un incertain regard ». Le seul moment de folie est dans le titre, quelles folles ces herbes d’ailleurs, ce qui est rappelé par d’innombrables scènes où l’on voit des herbes danser dans le vent.  Sinon on tombe dans “l’audace” filmique pour l’audace filmique. Par audace je veux dire un effet de style forcé. Puis les séquences s’enchaînent sans véritable échange entre les personnages. Rien ne prend vraiment aux tripes. A la rigueur les scènes qui écœurent comme celle du cabinet dentaire, ou celle d’un André Dussolier qui revient ivre mort et qui assouvit les pulsions de son éros tourmenté… de vieil homme.

Finalement, et pour ne pas parler du film qui inspire relativement peu, interrogeons la pertinence des récentes Palmes Cannoises. Tombées dans l’aristo-cinématographie, avec d’habiles systèmes de cooptation, quelle place pour la création ciné ? Quelle place pour ces petits réalisateurs, ces jeunes, ces talents qui se cherchent et qui se trouvent souvent ? Arrêtons le déni, critiquons la faute de goût. Alors pour ce qui est des Herbes Folles j’admets pouvoir être passé totalement à côté, mais si j’en retiens quelque chose c’est que ce film fait prendre un coup de vieux au cinéma français. Surement dû à cette volonté trop franche de faire du neuf et du moderne sans aucun naturel.

C’est un peu comme Joe Dassin qui dit « passer la nuit dans un sous-sol avec des fous » (Aux Champs Elysées) : regard trop éloigné de ces milieux underground pour les exprimer, Resnais de la même manière serait largué pour s’inscrire dans la modernité. Pourquoi ne privilégie-t-il pas alors sa véritable vision cinématographique ? Un film d’un autre âge aurait été préféré à ce film trop âgé dès le jour de sa sortie. Dommage.

Demorei o máximo que pude para ver esse filme. Para falar a verdade, eu nem queria ver esse filme. A razão? Medo. Meu maior medo era o hype imenso que esse filme carregava em cima dele. A fita nem tinha começado sua vida nos cinemas e todos já diziam que seria “o melhor filme de todos”. Confesso que sou um pouco (pouco é muito e muito é pouco) chato. Principalmente quando gosto de algo. E sempre gostei dos filmes do Tarantino. Não, eu não acho o cara um gênio. Acho um ótimo e divertido diretor. O maior triunfo do Tarantino é saber lidar bem com o clichê. Algo que todos tentam e a maioria fede ao fazer tentar fazer isso. Tarantino trabalhava numa locadora. Ou seja, estava rodeado pelo clichê o dia inteiro. Afinal, os filmes que costumam passar nas televisões das locadoras são, em sua maioria, algo que se tornou clichê com o tempo. Junte se a isso o seu talento e ironia referente à violência e você têm um ótimo diretor. Seu primeiro roteiro foi “Assassinos por Natureza”/ “Natural Born Killers” (com Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey Jr. e Tommy Lee Jones no elenco) o qual Oliver Stone dirigiu. Talvez seu maior roteiro, mesmo sendo bastante revisado pelo próprio Stone.

O primeiro roteiro de Tarantino já mostra o quanto ele é light.

Também não vi Burn After Reading/Queime Depois de Ler pelo mesmo motivo. Muito é falado antes de o filme ser lançado. E também é de um dos meus cineastas favoritos. O fato dos irmãos Cohen terem entrado no mainstream me assusta até hoje.

Quem já acompanha as peripécias deste blog sabe que costumo mais descer o pau do que elogiar: tirando Y: The Last Man, Ren & Stimpy e Billy & Mandy eu fui só reclamações e maldições. Mas de qualquer forma, não fiz tantas resenhas assim…

Então já deve ter alguém pensando: lá vai esse chato descer o pau no filme. Mas…

…o filme é muito bom! É melhor que Pulp Fiction? Não! É melhor que Kill Bill? É igual e diferente do mesmo modo. Ver um filme do Tarantino tem sempre uma sensação parecida, mais ou menos como ver Kubrick pós-Lolita. A sensação é parecida e os filmes não. Tarantino já conseguiu deixar sua marca no seu modo de fazer filmes. Não sei como explicar, mas quem conhece o trabalho dele já sacou o que eu quis dizer. Assim como Kubrick tinha aquele modo de sempre valorizar aqueles sorrisos aterrorizantes, cenas no banheiro e outras coisas. Não me entendam mal. Não estou comparando um com o outro. Kubrick era um gênio. Um dos maiores da história do cinema. Tarantino ainda não o é. É ótimo e divertido. Mas não sei. Ainda falta algo e tive a impressão de que com Bastardos Inglórios ele deu mostras de que está à procura desse algo mais.

Bastardos Inglórios é o chamado Historical Fiction (ficção histórica). A fita se passa na Segunda Guerra Mundial (entendam que esse era mais um dos meus medos: Nazistas de novo?!). Mas Tarantino não esgotou ainda mais o assunto. O nazismo e a guerra podem passar apenas como coisas secundárias.

Agora, para não falar só de Tarantino, o elenco foi muito bem escolhido. Começando com Christoph Waltz (“Ordinary Decent Criminal” / “Um Criminoso Decente” – vejam esse filme também!) no papel de Hans Landa. Waltz é o melhor no filme. Sua atuação é bárbara e mereceu o Cannes de melhor ator. Michael Fassbender (“Bando of Brothers” e “300”) como Lt. Archie Hicox (o inglês que troca tiros na virilha no pub) muito bem também. Eli Roth (demorei a lembrar quem era esse doidão. Ele faz parte do grupo Splat Pack, que é um grupo de cineastas de filmes de terror que decidiram voltar a fazer filmes de terror mesmo – pesados, “Saw”/ “Jogos Mortais” é de um diretor desse grupo. Eli Roth é o diretor de “O Albergue” que, confesso, não sou fã) é Donny Donowitz / O Urso Judeu, impecável sua ultima aparição na qual ele atira em Hitler até o rosto dele virar pedaços de carne moída no liquidificador. Diane Kruger (a Helena em “Troy” / “Tróia” e Abigail Chase em “A Lenda do Tesouro Perdido”) interpreta Bridget von Hammersmark. Diane Kruger já foi uma modelo de sucesso na década de 90, se não estou enganado. Que bom que deixou de ser modelo, parece que sob a correta direção e em um filme bom (diferente dos citados na qual ele atuou) ela tem talento. Daniel Brühl (“Adeus Lênin” e “The Edukators”) é Fredrick Zoller, ou o herói de guerra alemão. O cara é realmente bom. É só ver os filmes que o cara fez. Til Schweiger (“Tomb Raider” e “Rei Arthur”) é  o alemão que muda de lado. O cara no filme é hilário. Não sabia que o cara era bom (afinal olha os filmes que eu citei que ele fez), mas ele o é. Mélanie Laurent faz Shoshana. Essa eu não conhecia, mas também é muito boa. Omar Doom é Omar Ulmer. Gedeon Burkhard é o tradutor dos Bastardos. B.J. Novak (“The Office”) é o Little Man (não lembro bem como ficou em português, se foi Pequenino ou algo do tipo). Mike Myers (o Austin Powers) é o general inglês que comanda a idéia do assassinato de Hitler. Rod Taylor (“A Máquina do Tempo” de 1960, baseado no livro de H.G. Wells) faz o Wiston Churchil. Denis Menochet (“Hannibal Rising”) faz o fazendeiro francês do inicio do filme. Christian Berkel (“Operação Valquíria”) é o barman do pub onde rola aqueles tiros na virilha. Jacky Ido (esse eu não conheço) faz Marcel. August Diehl (“The Counterfeiters” e “The Ninth Day”, ambos alemães) é o oficial da Gestapo, especialista em sotaques, que troca tiros na virilha. Alexander Fehling (“And Along Come Tourists”, também alemão) é o cara que está comemorando o nascimento do filho onde dão tiros na virilha. Sylvester Groth é Josef Goebbels, ministro da propaganda de Hitler. Groth também interpretou Goebbels na comédia My Leader – The Truly Truest Truth about Adolf Hitler (também alemã). Quem também interpretou Goebbels foi Martin Wuttke – que é Hitler no filme de Tarantino – no filme Rosenstrasse (alemão também, mas se tiverem tempo – e paciência para achar – vejam). Julie Dreyfus (Sofie Fatale em “Kill Bill”) é a interprete francesa de Goebbels. O curioso é que parte do elenco desse filme são também diretores. Um exemplo disso é Enzo G. Castellari que no filme é um general nazista. Castellari é um diretor italiano, conhecido pelos seus Spaghetti Western como Any Gun Can Play, Kill Them All and Come Back Alone, Seven Wichesters For a Massacre e,…, The Inglorious Bastards – Quel maledetto treno blindato. Os bastardos de Castellari e de Tarantino são parecidos. Com certeza o filme de Castellari inspirou Tarantino. Os Bastardos no filme de Castellari são soldados americanos que estão sendo levados para uma prisão militar quando um ataque aéreo alemão acaba os “soltando” ao matar todos os guardas. Os soldados decidem fugir e acabam fazendo parte de um plano que consiste em roubar o giroscópio de um foguete V-2 nazista que se encontra em um trem extremamente protegido por nazistas.

The Ingloriou Bastards de Castellari.

Ué, e o Brad Pitt? Bom, Brad Pitt é um grande ator. Quando ele não faz papéis de heróis entediados ou de galã supersexy (como Aquiles em “Tróia” ou Sr. e Sra. Smith) ele manda muito. É só ver filmes como Thelma & Louise, Across the Tracks, Kalifornia (acho que foi aí onde ele aprendeu esse sotaque que ele tem em Bastardos Inglórios), Interview with the Vampire, Lendas da Paixão, Seven (Sete Pecados Capitais), Os Doze Macacos, Fight Club (Clube da Luta), Snatch (mais uma vez ele faz um sotaque genial), Babel, …, deu para entender, né? Ou seja, quando o papel e o filme é bom, ele arrebenta. Por isso não vou ficar falando o quanto ele foi bem nos Bastardos. Tentei falar mais dos outros que, para a grande maioria, são desconhecidos.

Como não poderia deixar de ser…

…em filme de tarantino nunca falta sangue e nem Samuel L. Jackson. Ele não atua, mas é o narrador. Poucas vezes narra, é verdade, mas ele está lá.

Minha conclusão é: se não viu, veja por você mesmo. Se já viu, sabe do que estou falando.

watch the Ireland v France match with me. After Anelka scored in the 72nd minute from a Gourcuff assist, she  promptly fell asleep on the sofa, secure in the knowledge that France were now much more likely to be South Africa bound.

It was a tight match which, frankly, could have gone either way. Tellingly, the man of the match was the French goalkeeper, and ex-OGCN player, Hugo Lloris. Though I should add that the  French scored more heavily in a couple of departments by comparison with the Irish: cooler kit (Adidas) and better looks (IMHO).

Earlier, I had watched an understrength England be dazzled by the Brazilians in Doha, Qatar. Ex-Villan, Gareth Barry was easily England’s best player in their 1-0 defeat.

My overnight guest was collected early this morning to allow me to leave for the pointage in Cannes. As I cycled past the hippodrome, I joined up with a group of cyclists, including a guy I rode with last week. To my surprise I managed to stay with them all the way to the pointage. I had anticipated that at some point I would be joined, and overtaken, by riders from my club. But they hadn’t arrived by the time I departed the pointage, returning home via Mouans Sartoux and Mougins.

I then had a quick turn around as I was meeting a friend for lunch. We were celebrating her new job in New York where, among  other things, she’s going to be looking after shipments of Chanel into the East Coast. I’m truly pleased for her. She’s worked really hard to build the up the company’s operation in Nice and needed another challenge. I will miss her, but have already signaled my intention to visit her next year in the Big Apple.

I’m now in my nightwear contemplating either an evening curled up on the sofa watching the TV or an early night with Jens Voigt’s biography. Reading in bed is another of my guilty pleasures and one which I can indulge only when my beloved is away, and he’s away until Thursday.

See ei muutnud väga palju. Või ikkagi muutis. Seal on palju uusi pilte mida bella näeb , või kujutab. Ta arvab et ta näeb visiooni. Ma ei ole tegelik nendes stseenides. Need tseenid on segu tema mälestustest ja fantaasiast.

Sa ei saa minna kuhugi keskusesse, sa ei saa maha istuda, et juua kohvi , sa ei leia inspiratsiooni enam, et teha midagi. Inimesed küsivad minult autogrammi, see ei ole huvitav, see on tüütu. See on väga hirmutav, et oled kaotanud normaalse elu, mis on olnud mul ennem. Ma olen ikkagi uus selles, aga teate mis? Fännid armastavad Edwardit mitte mind.

Sellel ei ole mõtet enam. Ma ei käiks seal väga sageli. Ma oleksin võibolla seal üks nädal korraga, peatuda hotellis. Oleks aga tore kui oleks koht, kuhu ma saaksin kõik oma asjad jätta.

Koht mida sa saaksid kutsuda koduks? Või koht kus sa saaksid jätta kõik oma asjad?

Mul on palju raamatuid kuid ma ei hooli väga palju teiste positioonidest. Mul on ainult kohver minu hotellitoas.

Gourmet weekend som alle har lyst til …..

Efterspørgslen på romantiske weekendophold med vildsvinemiddage og gode rødvine i Frankrig stiger og stiger. Folk vil prøve noget nyt og spændende. Almindelig grisefester i syden er overstået for længe siden og billige vildsvinefester i Polen er også mere eller mindre passé.

Franske cuisine  er nu sagen og det forstår man jo godt ……

Lorraine er en af de bedste jagtsteder i Frankrig, når man taler om vildsvinejagt. Så selvom antallet af jægere i Frankrig falder, ja så siger antallet af jagtophold kraftigt.
Slottet Château Hattonchâtel  tilbyder unikke jagtferier eller jagtarrangementer for både større eller mindre jagtgrupper. I de seneste år er det blevet vældigt populært med crossbow jagt, hvilket det franske slot   også tilbyder at arrangere for de jægere, der måtte ønske denne form for jagt.

Slottet har også arrangeret    weekendophold med vildsvinemiddage for personer der ikke går på jagt. Succesen og efterspørgslen var så stor, at de nu fortsætter med at tilbyde en gourmet weekend med vildsvin på spyd.

Både dagen før og dagen efter gourmet middagen med vildsvinesteg arrangerer slottet også andre former for aktiviteter – så som golf, vinsmagning, dagsture og natur-udflugter, besøg til Metz “lysets by”, Nancy med “den forgyldne plads” eller Verdun der er kendt fra den 1. verdens krig eller kulinariske oplevelser.

2009: Los Abrazos Rotos di Pedro Almodòvar

Presentato nel maggio scorso a Cannes, l’ultima opera del grande regista spagnolo (lontano dagli schermi per tre anni) ha diviso i critici.

Ad alcuni il lavoro è piaciuto (“Un magistrale omaggio al cinema classico”, My Movies. “Questo film non somiglia affatto ai primi film… che lo hanno reso tanto amato e popolare in Europa. È invece tenero, dolce: …il cambiamento non rende il film meno amorevole”, La Stampa). Molti gli insoddisfatti (“…troppa cinefilia, troppi ospedali, mezz’ora di troppo”, Repubblica. “I problemi del film – decisamente meno entusiasmante degli Almodovar più recenti – sono due: un’eccessiva complicazione della struttura narrativa e un gelo diffuso sui personaggi”, L’Unità. “Quello che si vede, quello che si sente suona come un compiaciuto onanismo mentale. Non suscita nulla; un vuoto confezionato in modo solenne e raffinato… L’unica sensazione che prevale dall’inizio alla fine è la noia”, El Pais, “La pellicola fatica ad appassionare”, Panorama. “Il regista è stanco e svogliato”, Il Foglio).

A mio parere Gli abbracci spezzati è forse il film meno riuscito di Pedro Almodòvar.

Dura quasi 130 minuti ma sembra più lungo. Digressioni e ripetizioni superflue, situazioni e personaggi riempitivi (di cui non si comprende la necessità), andamento narrativo immotivamente complesso, sorprendente mancanza di fantasia nell’illustrare il mondo del cinema… non aiutano una storia (che oscilla dal melodramma al noir) che non coinvolge ed appassiona. Protagonisti non ben delineati psicologicamente che non risultano interessanti e non stimolano la curiosità e la compartecipazione dello spettatore: nessuna empatia tra loro e noi che assistiamo piuttosto freddamente al loro dramma, dramma visto centinaia di volte sullo schermo e che solo una grande regia e una solida sceneggiatura possono riscattare. Regia e sceneggiatura qui manchevoli. Questa volta Almodòvar non graffia, non polemizza, non ironizza, non trasgredisce, non colpisce il nostro cuore o il nostro stomaco. Ci mostra (con estro-originalità-creatività latitanti) le vicissitudini di personaggi inconsistenti, senza personalità e senza carisma, di cui non intravediamo l’intimo e l’umanità.

Evidente l’amore di Pedro per il cinema (qui sottolineato dai continui omaggi a Rossellini, Hitchcock, Ingrid Bergman, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jeanne Moreau…): fallisce però nel trasmettere questo suo amore a noi spettatori.

La cosa migliore è l’ultima sequenza (di cinema nel cinema, “Ragazze e valigie”), un evidente richiamo di Almodòvar ai suoi primi caustici successi: una sequenza che sembra venire direttamente da quel gioiello che fu Donne sull’orlo di una crisi di nervi e che contribuisce al rammarico per l’attuale evoluzione del regista spagnolo.

Da plauso la bravura, veramente notevole, di Penelope Cruz (e Almodòvar è grande nel saperne valorizzare la bellezza).
