herb butter turkey (with rosemary, thyme, and sage)
mashed yukon golds (mashed potatoes are erik’s domain)
cranberry sauce (homemade, not canned)
my mom’s noodles (i don’t know if anyone else does noodles at thanksgiving; my mom always did, so i  do)
pioneer woman’s rosemary butter rolls (baked in a large cast iron skillet)
candied sweet potatoes (yuck. i make them, because erik and my father in law love them)
mom’s dressing (yuck. again, erik likes this a lot.)
shaved brussels sprouts with onions, bacon, and lemon zest
regular pumpkin pie
pumpkin pie with brown sugar pecan topping (from Bon Appetit’s thanksgiving issue)
apple pie (for erik, the lone odd duck who doesn’t like pumpkin)
maple whipped cream for the pies

The parents just left to go home after driving all the way to Pullman for Dad’s Weekend! Sad they will be missed but I’m sure Sister needs them a lot more than I do!

I gang. Thought I would take a break from my Nanowrimo-ing and give you guys a Prince of Persia update. A new trailer has hit the interwebs and it has me chomping at the bit. As a longtime fan of the games, I always thought this would make a good movie, and I’ve been pleased with production so far. Say what you want about Jerry Bruckheimer, but that man knows how to make an adventure movie. That is, as long as Disney isn’t dangling Benjamins in front of his face to “Kiddie” his movies up.

What is a pleasant surprise is that it looks like we may have at least one more villain on our hands besides Ben Kingsley. I dunno who the mysterious scar-faced guy is, but if Hollywood has taught me anything, it’s that disfigured people are evil.

Prince of Persia is scheduled to hit Theatres May 28th.

My birthday is in twenty-three days. The big one-seven. I feel so young compared to everyone, my birthday follows everyone else’s. What really sucks is that my eighteenth next year, follows halloween. So no pub crawling in a halloween costume. Maybe the year afterwards hopefully. Bryn’s brithday is seven days after mine. So we try to celebrate together. I told Joshua we need to have a party, where or when I have no idea. I have no idea what I want for gifts, I’m thinking lenses, or money for lenses. I have no idea, I usually just ask for money on my birthday, but that usually leads my family to think  they can give me twenty bucks and feel like they gave me a beautiful gift. I hate asking for anything from them, I usually don’t enjoy anything in the first place. I also want a crazy birthday cake. Specifically designed for me. If my mother buys it for me, it is up to her. But i hope she will =) If any of you guys have any sugestions for a cake company in edmonton or potential gifts I should ask for. Comment =)

Summary: The Black Order comes under attack by the Earl and some Noahs. There is talk about the “Alma Karma”, created from a research 9 years ago. Which also happens to be the reason behind the attack.

Unable to come up with a decent summary actually, since I’m still quite baffled by the huge string of events which is happening after the half-a-year break from the manga.

O yeah, I wasn’t planning to blog this series initially, but since I found out it’s gonna be published monthly… I think it’s due to the author’s health or something? Well, I’d rather have it monthly than irritatingly long breaks in between..

First off, I needed to read the previous chapter (187 which was published sometime in August), which I did, as a matter of fact, twice. And woah, what a torpedo of information. The surfacing of the Noah members, the Second exorcists, Alma Karma.. The first time I read I was like, “W-What’s happening?“.

And Kanda, I see he’s gonna be the crux of this arc. From the looks of it, Alma was his best friend when the both of them were the test objects of the experiment, and the Order kept the fact that Alma is still alive from Kanda. The Earl seems to be expecting Kanda to go against the Order after this secret is revealed to him.

The Black Order is a very dubious entity in itself, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did something really nasty to Kanda and Alma in that incident 9 years ago.

By the way, I was hoping the Earl would keep his more-human-form instead of the fat guy. Tsk.

I grew up on a healthy diet of fantasy films, thanks to my dad. Beast Master, Deathstalker, Krull, and Dungeonmaster were on a regular rotation on my house after my Saturday morning cartoons. So of course, I used to watch the fuck outta the Conan movies when I was a kid. When I heard that they were going to remake Conan my "squee" of glee could be heard for miles. While I will always love Arnold and the originals, Robert E. Howard’s material is much more brutal and gritty than the 80’s films depict.

After the jump is an official release by Lionsgate on how they have reimagined The Cimmerian, as well as some other key members of the cast. Enjoy!

Ukafa is Khalar Singh’s second in command, jealous that Singh’s son, Fariq, will one day be warlord. He obeys his leader but plots the overthrow of his son. He is a mighty warrior and unbeatable in battle until he comes face to face with Conan. LEAD

Summary: Following a rather hostile entrance (which includes attacking the Phantomhive servants in their srs biz mode) of the Double Charles, Ciel receives a request from the Queen to host a guest while he visits England. Ciel seems reluctant at first but agreed after Charles Grey expresses that the Queen has become doubtful of Ciel’s actions after the previous “incident”.

In the meantime, a doctor/writer is on his way to Phantomhive’s mansion.

Well that’s seems like a prelude to something really sinister,with the narration of the new character towards the end of the chapter, about him penning down the “tragedy” which occurred at the mansion. And of course, that shocking last page of our almighty Sebestian covered in blood.

Honestly I was shocked by the last page, given Sebestian’s abilities, I never expect him to be beaten, that badly. But I’d trust the author to bring in some really awesome revelations to the whole event next chapter onwards. I’m really interested in the guest Ciel’s supposed to host too.

The Double Charles will also be participating in the event, most likely under the orders of Queen to keep the Phantomhive under watch. Seem quite unfriendly towards the Phantomhive household.

And don’t one of the Charles guy look like a slightly younger version of Bard?

With just 10 days to go before the big night, I realize I’ve been horribly lax on providing you guys with proper inspiration for my take back Halloween campaign. So to remedy this, I am providing you guys with new production stills of The Wolfman, a remake of the classic horror film staring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Hugo Weaving.

I’m pretty excited about this movie. Not only because it should have been made a long time ago, but because I’m entirely sick of vampires and werewolves haven’t gotten the proper treatment since Teen Wolf…I’m kidding (or am I?)

The Wolfman hits theaters February 12, 2010.

On another note, I will be seeing Star Wars in Concert tonight, and am totally excited. I’ll probably come home and blog about it, so stay tuned.

How many times have you bought something and weeks later it’s still in the bag, hanging in the closet, or sitting a drawer?

When you bought the new make-up that just came out you knew it would look spectacular. You can’t wait to get home, drop the bags on the kitchen counter and rush to the bathroom mirror. Only to be disappointed once again … doesn’t look any better than the one you already have. You throw it in the drawer with the others that didn’t work out.

How about that new blouse? It’s the latest style; will look so hot with your new jeans. You don’t have time to try it on, so you grab the tag and look at the demo girl. No problem. The minute you’re in the house you’re tearing off your top and pulling on the blouse. Oh no! It looks terrible. You stick it on a hanger and shove it in the closet. You’ll take it back later.

This is another biggie. You’re at the jewelry counter, just looking mind you. The sales girl asks if she can help, as she’s reaching for a pair of earrings. You have a similar pair, only she swears they look beautiful on you. Aaand they’re on sale. You walk away with the earrings in your cart.

If the above apply to you, guess what? You’re an emotional shopper. Yet, you’re not alone. Millions of us are. Not just women either. Men have emotions too.

Here’s a suggestion: take a business envelope and write “shopping” on it. Prop it against your mirror. Every time you buy something, circle it and place the receipt in the envelope. At the end of a year, add the total. It will be a shock.

Oh yeah, that blouse. It’s still hanging in the closet.

I answer: being awesome. But he’s also guest starred on numerous shows such as CSI, Numb3rs, and Criminal Minds and has done some voiceover work in numerous animated projects one of them Batman: The Brave and the Bold as Ted Kord/Blue Beetle. He currently appears in the web series The Guild as the arch nemesis of Codex (Felicia Day).

I’ve been circling BioWare’s new game Dragon Age: Origins like a starving wolf who finds a defenseless doe caught in the first snows of winter. For the past few years, I have been disappointed with many of the fantasy RPG’s that have been released. It just seems that the overall quality has gone way down since my first heated love affair with the genre. Then Bioware brings Dragon Age to the stage, and I want to love it. I really do. But I’ve been hurt before.

But all that has changed as they have released more and more of the game. The amazing cinematics, the rich lore—if they made an mmo of this thing I would leave WoW in an instant. Not to mention the gameplay which looks just all sorts of fun. Don’t believe me? I’ve posted a plethora of videos to convert you to the cause of the Grey Wardens!

There’s a lot of over writing, cover writing, extra writing, copy writing..

The amount of information makes it challenging for “the new” to be expressed through words. So many flaunted apprehensions, so many beliefs in reiterations.

In my mind something new is evolving, to become magic. Actually magic is overrated. I prefer simplicity and witty logos. For the sake of winning time and re-devising fundamentals.

Those of us who follow geek superspy Chuck Bartowski, were thrilled that the show narrowly escaped cancellation. However, we were upset that we would have to wait until spring to find out what happened after Chuck accidentally downloaded a new and improved Intersect into his brain meats. Well that wait may not be as long as we think. We may be seeing more Chuck as early as late October.

Nothing firm on the date or if Chuck will return to its original Monday timeslot but the News over at NBC is very optimistic. Having seen the first four episodes they are calling this the "best season yet"

And there is more good news.

"If Chuck does come back sooner rather than later, the chances of NBC ordering additional episodes beyond the 13 it initially commissioned increases dramatically," says Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.

This is good news. If you don’t watch Chuck, you should, and if you tried to watch Chuck and couldn’t get into it, you should be lobotomized.
