claríssimas na Sic do que se passou no acesso aos balneários em Braga dão conta que não houve qualquer tipo de agressões entre Cardozo e Leone tal como foi notíciado e colocado no relatório do àrbitro. O que houve, isso sim foi a agressões de Vandinho a Raúl José, e de Mossoró e Ney a Cardozo, nas “barbas” do fiscal de linha.
Entretanto, Cardozo foi punido com 2 jogos de suspensão, que para um jogador que está em crescendo de forma estar injustamente duas semanas sem jogar, afecta e de que maneira o jogo da equipa. Foi difícil com a Naval e com Guimarães todos sabem o que aconteceu. Jorge Sousa privou-nos de Cardozo nos últimos dois jogos, e alguém deve ser punido por isso.

Gostava de saber qual a razão porque Cardozo foi expulso ao intervalo no jogo com o Braga e ainda castigado com dois jogos. Isto da internet é fantástico e a liberdade de imprensa ainda melhor.

I never really had many thoughts about Bill Clinton. Thanks to Animaniacs, I knew he played the saxophone, but that’s really the extent of the good things I knew about him.

But tonight, my respect for the man grew ten fold. See, Bill Clinton, as the President, appointed Justice Stephen Breyer to the United States Supreme Court. For most people this doesn’t mean a whole lot, but, well, it should. Considering that the nine Supreme Court Justices dictate a lot of how we live our lives, and in the legal world, they are sort of the all-star team of wisdom, you should maybe gain some interest in what these people have to say.

In any event, Justice Breyer came to Cardozo tonight and spoke about Legal Pluralism and the conversation between French and American jurisprudence. Fortunate enough attend, I stand (sit) before you now, to relay the tale. They don’t say “your Honor” for no reason. This man emanated grace and wisdom; his booming voice was the calming voice of  a father, a Stanford/Oxford/Harvard educated father. A father who as made countless decisions that influence how us little people live our lives.

Seeing Justice Breyer in person was a real gold mine. I suppose it’s a bit nerdy to get so excited about such a thing, but I think it’s not so misguided. If you think about the most powerful people in the world, the nine Supreme Court justices have to be up there. I mean, you’ve got the US President, the Pope, maybe some other presidents, David Beckham, Bono (the list of joke celebrities goes on)…

To be in the same room, with less than 200 people, with a man so wise, so learned, so smooth, was definitely a high point for me. Everything he said restored my faith in our system. I always found the system of appointments somewhat inherently mischievous. Allowing a President give a position with such weight seems a little unnerving. But I must say, Bill, you really did us right on this one.

Breyer is known to be a level-headed realist in the court. Representing the more liberal side, he has not been afraid to look to international law at times, and is known for his pragmatic approach to evaluating cases of constitutional law.  He delivered an inspiring talk, and made  a few key points that I think were especially delicious. He made it a point to stress the importance of learning another language. He spoke of how we only have one life to live, and with our limited experiences, we get such a small glimpse of reality. Learning another language allows us to see the world through a separate enterprise, a new way of looking beyond our conceptions of reality. He went on to encourage reading novels, stating that like learning languages, reading novels gives us a small window of opportunity to view the world through someone elses eyes. Fine, you don’t see the depth in it? Whatever. But languages are cool and reading is an unrivaled delight.

You know what else is a delight? Bill Clinton playing the saxophone. (and the first two powerpoint slides of this video).

Paulo Bento apresentou hoje a demissão do cargo de treinador da equipa de futebol do Sporting , na sequência dos maus resultados.

O Sporting informa que Paulo Bento « apresentou nesta data a demissão do cargo de treinador principal da equipa profissional por entender não estarem reunidas as condições para se manter no comando técnico da equipa ».

Após nove jornadas na Liga portuguesa de futebol, o Sporting ocupa o sétimo lugar da Liga, com 13 pontos, menos 12 do que o líder, o Sporting de Braga .

A SAD do Sporting anunciou a decisão à Comissão de Mercado de Valores Mobiliários através de dois comunicados distintos.

Ambos os dirigentes demitiram-se na sequência do abandono de Paulo Bento do comando técnico da turma de Alvalade.

Não há dúvida que o Benfica se dá bem em Liverpool, terra dos famosos Beatles e talismã para o clube da Luz. Depois de um vitorioso resultado contra o Liverpool (golos de Simão e Miccoli) a contar para a Liga dos Campeões em 2005, agora para a Liga Europa, o Glorioso conquistou uma vitória frente ao Everton, por duas bolas a zero. Os Ingleses conhecidos como “os bifes” não tiveram classe para ultrapassar uma equipa tão forte fisicamente e mentalmente como a do Benfica.
A minha grande satisfação deve-se ao facto de que, no jogo anterior frente ao Braga, aquela derrota poderia deitar tudo abaixo, mas não. O Benfica foi ao chão, mas imediatamente já se tinha levantado e o resultado foi bem mostrado ontem à noite. A nossa superioridade foi tão notória que destaco o seguinte comentário de um adepto do Everton:

Têm dúvidas? Depois deste comentário de um adepto do Everton? Porque se fosse de um Benfiquista era supostamente suspeito, mas vindo de um “bife”, a aceitação é bem empregue.

Ontem e depois de uma noite Europeia, gostei do que vi. De inicio deixou-me surpreendido aquele onze inicial. Ramires (box-to-box), Di Maria e Coentrão nas alas, Amorim na direita, Sidney a central e David Luiz a lateral esquerdo. Sei que a gestão de esforço tem obrigatoriamente que ser feita, e Jorge Jesus acertou. Um técnico atento a tudo o que se passa nos treinos e com uma capacidade mental extraordinária. Vejam o caso de Felipe Menezes, um jogador com futuro, mas é um jogador que joga pouco, pois esta num processo de adaptação. Antigamente, um jogador chegava à Luz e imediatamente era titular. Os tempos de mudança de Jesus estão a ser feitos com peso e medida, algo que me satisfaz.

Saviola, protagonista do primeiro golo em Liverpool.

Depois com Aimar no banco, o Benfica jogou uma partida inteligentemente e que criou várias oportunidades de golo ao contrário de um Everton que jogava em casa perante 40.000 espectadores. O Benfica foi forte e mostrou que pode ir bem longe nesta competição. Lógico é que, com a entrada de Aimar o Benfica melhorou substancialmente, mas também temos que ver que o adversário já se encontrava desgastado. Aimar foi uma lufada de ar fresco e que resultou na perfeição. Aimar mesmo não estando ao seu nível, é importantíssimo para esta equipa. Com um posicionamento muito bom, é capaz de desequilibrar a defesa contrária com as suas tabelas venenosas entre Saviola, Cardozo ou Di Maria.
Outro destaque vai para o “rato” de área. Saviola, pequenino, mas muito rápido está melhor do que nunca. Com as suas tabelas e com a sorte dos ressaltos (só tem sorte que a procura), aquele golo fez-me vibrar e de que maneira. Saviola é um dos jogadores que me surpreendeu neste Benfica. No inicio de época não lhe dava qualquer tipo de crédito, mas hoje em dia, é peça fulcral no nosso grande Glorioso.

Em aspectos gerais, o Benfica esteve bem ontem. Todos os sectores funcionaram bem e Julio César nem se deslocou ao balneário no intervalo. Ficou na baliza a fazer aquecimento. Aqui fica demonstrado que raramente foi incomodado. Com falta de opções David Luiz esteve na esquerda, mas o lugar dele é a central. Sidnei precisa de jogos. Efectuou um passe de morte para a entrada de área, mas o adversário não aproveitou. Falta-lhe confiança e sobretudo ritmo de jogo. De resto tudo cumpriu com os objectivos e Javi meus amigos, é um luxo ter este Espanhol no nosso plantel. Real Madrid pode bem torcer as orelhas, pois deixou escapar um grande trinco e o Benfica agradece.
Uma noite europeia gloriosa, em que o nosso clube mais uma vez reapresentou Portugal nesta Europa cada vez mais valiosa. Agora temos a Naval na Luz na próxima segunda-feira e só espero por uma vitória. O Braga vai cair e o Benfica só tem de pensar em si próprio. Jogar bem e ganhar, vai fazer que no futuro sejamos campeões. É nisso que acredito…

É incrível dizer-se que os factos a que levaram ao “sururú” na entrada do túnel do estádio AXA foi devido ao facto de Di Maria ter dado uma cuspidela e um pontapé na bola em direcção ao banco do Braga. Bata para isso ver as as imagens. O pontapé não é dado em forma de desagrado com quem quer que seja do Braga, mas apenas por quem é profissional de futebol e não sabe marcar um fora (como é possível?!) e fica “arreliado” com a situação. Quanto à cuspidela, por amor de Deus…é uma cuspidela absolutamente normal de quem pratica desporto, nada mais que isso. Aliás tal facto foi tão notório, que até Eduardo que deveria estar a 50 metros de distância, viu o ângulo, a direcção e a velocidade a que o cuspo saiu da boca de Di Maria. Não me lixem, foram instigados durante toda a semana a tomar semelhentes atitudes de agressividade. Só assim se percebe o que se passou.

I have never supported anything more than this in my entire life.

But it didn’t happen. However, before that news got out, I wrote a little column about it. Here it is

Over the past week, rumors have swirled at 55 5th avenue that Cardozo has been considering an offer to have a reality TV show filmed at our law school.

I am ashamed and shocked. How can Cardozo even consider a reality show without immediately contacting me to be a character?

Supposedly the plan is for the show to cover law students as they work through the year and offer legal advice to real clients, in real cases. Boring.

America doesn’t want to see well thought out, logical legal advice. It wants to see 1L’s crying in the fetal position. It wants to see best friends undermining each other for Big Law internships. It wants to see drama, entertainment, and breasts. And I’ve got two out of three.

In contrast to the inevitable characters of hot genius undergrad chick struck down by the first year of law school, or the newlywed trying to balance home and school, I’ll be the fun-loving cut-up with all the best B-stories who gets a spinoff in the end. Think Joey in Friends or G. Gordon Liddy in The Nixon Administration. And believe me, I’ve got the goods.

There are no limits to all the wacky adventures this Texas Jewboy transplant will get in. Think cutting intermittently from a serious plot to a B-story of me slipping and falling over the period of several hours as I try, desperately, to make my way to Cardozo during the first freeze. Apparently cowboy boots don’t make good snow boots.
Weeow! (That’ll be my catch-phrase, by the way).

Or a hilarious game of chicken between me and a professor as I try to bluff my way through a cold call that I’m obviously unprepared for.
“So let me get this straight, Mr. Mintz. You’re saying that Miller v. California held that a beer could have both great taste and be less filling.”

Or an episode where I have a breakdown and yell at all the people who take the elevator to just go to the second floor, but then — ironic twist! — I hurt my knee and have to take the elevator all the time.
“Oh, so its the guy who thinks he’s too good to take the elevator one floor!”

I can already taste the Cable Ace Award.
But those are just a few ideas. I’ll do whatever, and whomever, it takes to get on the show. Sleep through my final for the season finale? I’m there. Bone a professor for sweeps week? Oh you know I’m there. Hold a pork roast in the 3rd floor lounge during the Fast of Esther? I’ll have people saying Evan instead of Haman if its what we need for ratings.

Lets be honest. With my GPA and extracurriculars, I’ve got no hope for a high paying job, or even a low paying respectable job. So if I want my millions, I’ve got to make it American way: sell my soul to Hollywood. I foresee a career MTV movie award gigs, VH1 commentary, and a Playboy shoot that, no matter what, will still be better than Heidi Montag’s.

So choose me, Cardozo. You already picked me for admission and you didn’t regret that. Right?

O Benfica continuar a golear, e a equipa coesa do Nacional, não conseguiram aguentar os 90 minutos, sem que se juntassem aos nomes das equipas goleadas pelo Benfica nesta época…

Fabio Coentrão, Saviola e Cardozo, foram talvez os 3 nomes que mais se destacaram no jogo, não querendo com isso tirar mérito ao resto da equipa, que jogaram como uma verdadeira equipa se deve comportar.

Neste jogo, até houve espaço para o Luisão brincar, com a defesa do Nacional…

Speculation (and I hasten to say speculation); seems to suggest that Mr. Levy’s move to sure up relations with Internacional in the last window was another savvy decision from our shrewd chairman as the major press seem to have heard wind of movements which might suggest that the capture of Sandro in the winter window (to sure up the enforcing side of our midfield), would seem to place us in pole position. Specifically it is said that interest around the tall hard tackling midfielder is growing with Arsenal (naturally) and Barcelona (always the sign of a good player) reportedly registering their interest. The working relationship between our two clubs would seem to have some benefit for us; and I can only assume this would (hopefully) mean first refusal on their players or in an extreme circumstance only first refusal on Sandro himself. Only time will tell on this one.

In other news; reports today are linking ourselves as well as the cash rich Manchester City with a move for Oscar Cardozo of Benfica. Anyone who’s played Football Manager (I’ll stop making reference to this shortly for fear of my reputation), knows that the tall Paraguayan knows how to find the net when he wants to with an impressive ratio of 50 goals in 87 games for his club. Whilst his international record is much less impressive; you can argue this may be due to the distinct lack of creative talent in the international squad with only Wolfsburg’s Santana really making any headlines on the european stage. A move for Oscar would certainly be in the vein of replacing Roman Pavlyuchenko who for the most part can be assumed to have a critical time ahead of him in the next few games, (specifically due to Jermain Defoe’s petulance against Pompy). It can certainly be ascertained that Harry and the management would potentially be keeping an eye on replacements in what remains a bit of a sticky diplomatic situation. Needless to say Oscar fits the bill; as there is a fairly low chance lack of appearances/ being a forth striker would limit his appearances in the World Cup; and it is also fair to say that as a prolific goalscorer he would be interested in challenging himself on a larger more prominent stage. Watch this space.

No primeiro jogo do Benfica neste Torneio de Amestardão, a moral está em alta!  As duas equipas estão equilibradas em termos do começo da pré- época, ambas as equipas com 5 jogos realizados.
Apesar de ao Benfica sem dúvida lhe estar a correr melhor, com 3 vitórias, 1empate e 1 derrota contra 2 vitórias, 1 empate e 2 derrotas da equipa Sunderland! O jogo realizou-se hoje pelas 18 horas, no estádio ” Amesterdam Arena” e o Benfica ganhou 2-0 com golos de Cardozo e Maxi Pereira.

O Benfica tornou-se o primeiro finalista do torneio do guadiana ao derrotar, ontem à noite, o Atletico de Bilbão, por 2-1.
Os encarnados entraram a atacar, no entanto, o atlético de Bilbao reforçou o ataque, e aos 16 minutos, Toquero estreou o marcador, ao aproveitar um cruzamento de Susaeta.
Aos 48 minutos, o Benfica inicia o contra ataque e, ao aproveitar uma má saída do guarda-redes basco, Saviola marca o primeiro golo dos encarnados.
O Benfica chegou à vantagem com novo golo de Saviola aos 66 minutos, outra vez ao segundo poste, respondendo a um canto apontado por Fábio Coentrão.
O clube da Luz, fica agora à espera do resultado do jogo entre o Olhanense e o Anderlecht, para saberem quem vão defrontar na partida decisiva.

O Benfica triunfou no jogo de pré-temporada, frente ao Shakhtar Donetsk, por duas bolas a zero. Este poderá ser o resultado da exigência de Jorge Jesus, no seu jogo de estreia enquanto treinador do clube encarnado. Cardozo estreou o marcador, seguindo-se do seu colega de equipa, Carlos Martins. Durante a partida, a equipa da Luz manteve uma táctica defensiva bastante delineada, cobrindo bem os espaços em campo, cometendo poucas faltas. Jorge Jesus conseguiu unir a equipa em torno de uma táctica defensiva coesa, faltando, no entanto, um reforço nos movimentos ofensivos da equipa.

A contratação de Saviola e o interesse noticiado em Falcão não significam a saída de Cardozo, que o Benfica só admite vender por uma verba a partir dos 25 milhões de euros, apurou o DN. De resto, sabe o nosso jornal, os encarnados já rejeitaram quatro propostas que chegaram à Luz, neste defeso, pelo avançado paraguaio, uma vez que nenhuma delas chegava sequer aos 20 milhões. O novo técnico, Jorge Jesus, acredita que Cardozo (na foto) é um elemento importante para a próxima época e tem o apoio da direcção (demissionária), que, aliás, não planeia qualquer venda, pelo menos antes da eleições de 3 de Julho. Ontem, na casa do Benfica do Alvor, Luís Filipe Vieira reafirmou a intenção: “Não vamos vender ninguém.” O candidato à reeleição para a presidência elogiou ainda Jorge Jesus, “o melhor treinador português” e “talvez o treinador mais ambicioso” com quem já trabalhou na Luz, disse.

APÓS VENDER ROQUE SANTA CRUZ AO MANCHESTER CITY

O Blackburn Rovers está disposto a avançar para a aquisição de Oscar Cardozo, e aos contactos exploratórios com o representante do jogador pode seguir-se uma abordagem concreta aoBenfica com apresentação de respetiva proposta de transferência.

O “namoro” entre o clube onde milita o ex-portista Benny McCarthy e o internacional paraguaio não é novo e há muito que o camisola 7 benfiquista está referenciado pelo emblema inglês. A cobiça intensificou-se com a chegada de Sam Allardyce a Ewood Park, já que o antigo técnico de Bolton e Newcastle é um apreciador das qualidades de Cardozo.

O elevado preço que o Benfica pagou pelo jogador (12 milhões de euros) ao Newell’s Old Boys era um entrave para o negócio, mas nos últimos dias Allardyce conseguiu ganhar fundo de maneio com a venda de outro paraguaio. Roque Santa Cruz foi transferido para oManchester City por 20 milhões de euros, verba que o Blackburn pretende investir em, pelo menos, dois reforços. O clube britânico tenta também a venda de McCarthy, e assim pode aumentar ainda mais os fundos disponíveis para investir no mercado.

À Luz, ainda não chegou nenhum proposta concreta, mas a SAD benfiquista não rejeita a possibilidade de transferência de qualquer dos ativos do clube. Oscar Cardozo é um dos jogadores com mais mercado na Luz, mas o Benfica não quer negociar abaixo dos 12 milhões, verba que não é inalcançável para o Blackburn.

In another attempt to demonstrate that they are just as dishonest and devisive as the Bush crowd, Obama and his minions are promoting Sotomayor as the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice. Unfortunately, even though it serves his political needs, it is just not true.

Benjamin Cardozo, who was appointed in 1932 by Herbert Hoover, served on the United States Supreme Court until his death in 1938. He was a Sephardic Jew with Spanish and Portugese ancestry.

Latino groups in the US prefer Sotomayor because she fits their definition of Hispanic which is Puerto Rican or Mexican and Catholic. Being Jewish and a true Hispanic seemed to blot out Cardozo in their minds.  There is a  Law School named for him at New York’s Yeshiva University. It is a sister school to the Albert Einstein School of Medicine.

Strange that not one media source picked up on this. Not even the “Liberal, Jewish” ones.

One more fraud being perpetrated upon the American people.

ENCARNADOS TÊM DE ENCAIXAR 20 MILHÕES DE EUROS

A SAD do Benfica está forçada a vender, para compensar a ausência, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, da Liga dos Campeões. Um encaixe superior a 20 milhões resultante da transferência de jogadores é o que os encarnados se propõem fazer este verão, tanto mais que são necessários meios para investir em reforços.

Ao terminar o campeonato em 3.º lugar, os encarnados têm de disputar a qualificação para a nova Liga Europa, competição que vem substituir a Taça UEFA. O organismo que superintende o futebol europeu definiu verbas mais aliciantes para as 48 equipas que disputarão a fase de grupos. No entanto, esse prémio estará muito longe daquele que os participantes na Champions receberão.

Para se ter uma ideia, os responsáveis encarnados, quando começaram a preparar 2009/10, estimaram que o afastamento dos principais palcos europeus implicaria uma perda de 10 milhões de euros. Assim, Luís Filipe Vieira, de 59 anos, e seus pares traçaram um plano para atenuar esse prejuízo. Tanto mais que a “eliminação precoce” da Taça UEFA (a equipa quedou-se pela fase de grupos), expressão utilizado pelo administrador-executivo da SAD, Domingos Soares Oliveira, era algo que o Benfica não contava.

I normally wouldn’t dive into Karl Rove’s petty accusations about how Sonia Sotomayor would be the second Hispanic to reach the bench, not the first, but since Spanish cultural history happens to be an interest area for me, what the hell. Who is or isn’t Hispanic is question that rears it’s ugly head from time to time and which is generally defined as being people from Spain or a former Spanish colony. �I’ll get into the interesting nuances in a second, but first lets spend a second discussing how much of a dumbass Karl Rove happens to be.

Karl Rove’s accusation rests on Benjamin Cardozo, who sat on the bench from 1932 to 1938. Cardozo was a Sephardic Jew; Sepharim or being Sephardic has a variety of meanings in itself, generally though sepharim comes from sepharad, which means “Spain” in modern Hebrew. The Sephardic Jews initially referred Jewish communities in the Iberian penninsula. However, in 1492 the Spanish Inquisition forced all of the Jews out of Spain, into hiding or into becoming a converso or convert to Catholicism. A diaspora took place, and the Sephardic Jews spread out across pretty much anywhere in the Mediterranean basin they were accepted, with large communities in Morocco, Asia Minor, Greece, Italy, Gibraltar. Sephardism in the ethnic sense can mean just about anything as long as they have a historical tie to the Iberian peninsula. Sephardism has a religious meaning too, referring to Jew who follows a Sephardic liturgy, usually compared to the Yiddish speaking Ashkenazim Eastern Europe. Sephardic Jews can include the Mizrahi Jews, who also use a sephardic liturgy but have zero ethnic connection to Spain, and generally reside in North Africa, the Middle East, the Caucus or even India.

So, being Sephardic is zero evidence of being “Hispanic.” As it so happens, Cardozo’s family traced their family history to Portugal, though this is unconfirmed. Being Portuguese would qualify Cardozo as being a latino o, or someone coming from a latin derived culture tracing it’s roots to the latin speaking parts of the Roman Empire, but generally not as a Hispanic. What probably matters most is how Cardozo was considered at the time he took office, and at the time his title as being “sephardic” meant much more to the American people as “Jewish” than “possibly Hispanic.” Cardozo was one of the “jewish judges” or continual string of Jewish judges occupying the same seat on the court from 1916 to 1969.

Now that we’ve cleared that up it’s still worth noting the nuance in the word “Hispanic.” Though general defining Spain and its former colonies, or places of Spanish culture, fewer and fewer people want to be called Hispanic these days. Native people of former Spanish colonies who still speak their own language have argued that they are not, in fact, Hispanic because they have retained a separate cultural identity. Certainly former colonies like Equatorial Guinea and the Philippines fit oddly into this category. �Many Spanish I’ve met get offended at being called “Hispanic,” taking that term to only refer to their former colonies, much preferring the more typical “Spanish.” Even more confusing are states like Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil, which took in large numbers of non-Hispanic Europeans and so have diverged greatly from their Spanish heritage to accept Italian, German and Eastern European culture. Consequently, large numbers of persecuted Ashkenazim from Europe migrated to South America and have consequently become “Hispanic,” so it is possible to be a Hispanic Jew without being Sephardic.

Much to my surprise,  being of Portuguese ancestry doesn’t qualify one as “Hispanic”,  though back in the dark ages when I first heard the term,   it referred to any Iberian (covering Spain and Portugal)  or Latin heritage.    Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Cardozo certainly wouldn’t have used the term for himself,  being interested in ancestry rather than group identity.

There seems to be a fair amount of disagreement about who does qualify ,  so I suppose,  for once,  the Wikipedia definition will do, which would make Sotomayor the first.    I suppose  there weren’t enough aggrieved Portuguese lobbying  for inclusion on the approved list.

Let me just say at the get-go that I do not understand why being Hispanic, or White, or Black, or any other race would make someone more or less qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice.  However, the racist media seems to always bring up someone’s race, and I feel the need to respond to something that I have seen quoted several times.

Numerous articles I have been reading have been saying that Sonia Sotomayor is the first Hispanic to be nominated to the Supreme Court.  Really?

Benjamin Cardozo, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court

I am sure they were repeating what was in the press release in order to get a story out quickly.  However, I heard some disagreement from a conservative radio talk show host yesterday.  He was asking about Benjamin Cardozo, a justice appointed by President Hoover.

Cardozo reportedly had Portuguese ancestry, with his forefathers being forced to flee the Iberian Peninsula due to the Spanish Inquisition.  You see, his family was not Roman Catholic.  They were Jewish.

Does this Jewish ancestry mean he was not Hispanic?  I don’t expect the liberal media to provide an answer.  It does not fit into their racial identity politics.

LFV anda irritado com os constantes discursos de apelo à manutenção de Quique Flores. Como se não bastasse, pelo meio ainda algumas críticas à gestão efectuada pelo presidente, como as palavras contundentes de Cardozo em que afirmou que se o Benfica quiser aspirar a algo tem de parar com a constante dança de treinadores. Só Cardozo em dois anos já teve 5 treinadores. Para além de Cardozo, Miguel Vitor, Maxi, Fellipe Bastos, Mantorras, Luisão, Nuno Gomes e mais uns quantos já vieram a terreiro a defender o treinador. É que se fossem todos aqueles que jogam habitualmente a defender o treinador, ainda faria alguma lógica, mas não, todos estão a fazê-lo. Cheira-me a discursos encomendados por alguém, e fala-se amiúde que será de Rui Costa que não quer que Quique se vá embora. O caldo parece estar definitivamente entornado.

Foram as figuras do jogo de ontem com o Belenenses. Cardozo, Fillipe Bastos e Mantorras fizeram o gosto ao pé. Tivessem sido utilizados com amis regularidade esta época, e possivelmente o Benfica teria obtido resultados diferentes.
