Bucket of Dice v1.4.5 is now available.

Note that for compatibility purposes version numbers within the module were not changed. All save files should maintain compatibility, but components on the table will not update automatically. I recommend downloading and using new backup deck saves as well.

Changes include:

• Notes text now updates in real time, with every keystroke, sort of like in Google Wave. Think of it as Vassal Wave ^.^

• Individual dice can now be labeled, which should prove useful in games like Catgirl Pirates Battle Ninja Dinosaurs! or In a Wicked Age.

• RPS die was added. How come I didn’t think of that earlier?

• Alyria’s clock die is now… less square.

• Default tokens look cleaner now.

• Press TAB to display an object at twice its size or view the contents of a stack. It is strongly recommended that you disable automatic stack display in Vassal’s preferences.

• Arrows no longer allow for arbitrary rotation. Press Ctrl + ] and Ctrl + [ to rotate them 15° at a time.

• Notes can now be rotated as above.

• Fixed several minor card bugs.

Thanksgiving was fun. Great food. Great friends.

During the Euchre tournament (cards), I got the opportunity to watch my wife play with the other card sharks, but more importantly I got in a few hours of doodle time.

Home Alone 2 was on, and the part where the kid is roaming around New York tripped me out when I saw the Twin Towers. Very chilling to think about that the whole landscape there is changed. I know that the directors and writers wanted to choose landmarks that would help the film be enjoyed for years, but that part yanks us back to reality that nothing stays the same. Even in our safe country.  Change is a constant, never settle for the way things are, or the way things were. Just be ready for it.

Random doodles abound, ink on Zona’s high-quality Thanksgiving napkins. I also wanted to memorialize Pat’s incredible reflexes when he caught a flying bear puppet like some kind of ninja.  This event is toward the bottom left.

I trust you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying the rest of your weekend with your family and or friends. My anticipation of having Thanksgiving without my nephew for the first time since his passing this summer turned out better than expected. My sister is so much stronger than I could ever imagine and she inspires me each and every day. We had a really nice visit and had lots of really good conversation while she was here. I am thankful for her and the rest of my siblings. And of course very thankful for my hubby and my son!
Now here are the cards I got to make on Wednesday, since we had the day off from school and it was raining. It felt good to have time to be creative again.

How quickly one set of images is forgotten on the shelf!  When Eastern Blooms appeared in the Fall 2008 catalog, it sat on top of my craft table and saw regular use.  It was a bold companion for Embrace Life – one with bold images, one with line images – and it suited our Asian influenced culture here in Hawaii.  Seems like ages since it’s seen a bit of ink, and when a customer asked me to re-design a card using a floral image instead of cupcakes, I reached for these two old friends.

tutte le cards che sono state spedite dalle scrapper sono state poi donate in beneficenza, una bella iniziativa cui non si poteva non partecipare.

Le cards esposte venivano poi votate dai frequentatori della fiera, ci sono stati più di 800 votanti!!!!!

La vincitrice è risultata essere quella stupenda di Stefania che potete vedere in questo suo post…

e guardatevi pure tutti gli altri perché realizza delle cose deliziose che possono ispirarvi per molte occasioni!

So, in an ongoing effort to get my mojo kick started, I was thrilled to see that Pals Paper Arts challenge this week was to make a KISS (keep it simple, sweetie) card. So, in essence, use stamps/ink/paper and limited embellishments.

I started with a Basic Black card base and layered it with Whisper White. To the left side I added a strip of Old Olive which I’d stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds.

Over the seam of the Old Olive cardstock, I added some 5/8″ Brocade Blue grosgrain. I tufted it a bit at the top and added a “genuine” brad from my Styled Silver HodgePodge Hardware.

On the far right, I stamped the peacock feather from Nature’s Nest. I inked it up with Brocade Blue ink then used my Old Olive and Basic Black markers to add various shades. I stamped the saying from Hope Happens in Basic Black.

This card is elegant in it’s simplicity. And, what’s more is that I came up with a bunch of ideas for upcoming projects while I was doing this one!

Good morning ladies. Todays card is for the Humble Pie monochromatic challenge. I decided to use Maggie but I got rid of the flower she was holding and had her sitting in front of the christmas tree. I coloured the images in with my copic markers added some bling, stickles and a bit of crystal lacquer to the star. I pop dotted the tree and the sentiment is a rub on from Stampin Up. I used my new Martha Stewart punch that I picked up from SGD. (love it) and the paper is from a paper pack I picked up from the $ store.

Three Wise Women Would Have

Happy day after Thanksgiving!  I hope you had a great time celebrating with friends and family.  This year Mark and I opted to stay home, just the two of us, and celebrate. It was really nice

In between cooking food stuffs and watching episodes of Gilmore Girls (we’re on Season 2!), I sneaked in some time to make a quick card for the Friends with Flair blog hop today!  It’s the first time I’ve really inked up anything Unity in a long time!  Crazy I know!!

I paid a flying visit to the NEC a few weeks ago and bought some stuff from the MDF man, including a box with dividers which I think is supposed to be for recipes.  However I have it earmarked as a birthday card/general card box – as being MDF means it will protect the cards against being squashed.

So I’m now on a mission to make myself a collection of cards to put in it.  Simple cards that  may often have space for a sentiment or greeting so I can adapt them as the occasion arises.

Here’s the first two.

The tree card is made from a sheet of sturdy pearlescent scrapbook paper, stamped with a flourish leaf.  The ribbon is hiding a black smudge I picked up from a dirty table (it happens) and the trees (from Tall Trees, one of this year’s bestselling stamp sets) are stamped onto an ATC sized piece of stampbord.  The background has been coloured with Memento inks and the trees stamped in three shades of green StazOn.  This one has space for a sentiment if I want to add one at some point.  I have some really nice rub-ons which I’m finding are really useful for finished cards like this – no worries about wonky stamping.

The other card is a stamp from ‘A thing of beauty‘ themeplate, coloured with Copic markers and I will get an angled photo in daylight sometime because what you can’t see is the glitter from the Copic Spica glittery markers.  They are coming onto the website soon and they are quite amazing.  The glitter in the pens is pure glass – teensy weensy ground up little bits of it, but it creates a true sparkle like nothing else.  They come in a multi pack or you can get just the clear on its own.  One important lesson though, you need to keep them flat or point down because glass glitter does move around and you may not get the glitter coming out if you store them point up.

I am snatching little pockets of crafting time at the moment as I am still really busy with lots of projects on the go.  Tomorrow I’ll show you something that has just been published in an American magazine …

Here’s another card I finished earlier today.  I’m doing really well with getting everything done, if I do say so myself.

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great.  Because a lot of my family had other plans for today, we’re having our Thanksgiving on Friday.

Ugggh, it’s been a long day and I’m pooped. I come from a card playing family, mainly bid whisk and spades.

It’s tough playing with my mother and brother because they are fierce on the card table, they love to win.

I play well enough to be a dummy hand, but tonight we won, with my brother as my partner. Did I mention I’m tired?
