<p><strong>This is a wonderful vintage cotton hanky with Donald Duck and his three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie on a nautical adventure. This little piece of Disney history would look wonderful framed in a vintage frame. It is signed C.Walt Disney Productions in the lower left, and measures about 8.5&#8243; square. Aside from a single  hole, the condition is very good.</strong></p>

<p><em>-<strong> </strong>Hake’s Americana &#38; Collectibles has sold the first Donald Duck model sheet, created in 1934 for the Disney cartoon The Wise Little Hen, for a record-breaking $75,000.</em></p>
<p><em>- Donald Duck&#8217;s middle name is Fauntleroy.</em></p>
<p><em>- Donald Duck comics were never banned in Finland, because the character doesn&#8217;t wear pants. That is just an urban legend. In a meeting held in Helsinki regarding youth affairs a candidate for Finland&#8217;s liberal party, Markku Holopainen, proposed that the country save money and promote fitness by replacing the Donald Duck comics it was providing to youth with sports magazines, which were cheaper at the time. The proposition was heartily approved by all of those in attendance.</em></p>

<p>Here’s some brand new stuff that came out the week of November 4 that I think is worth a look-see for someone with little to no history with comics. That means you should be able to pick any of these up cold without having read anything else. So take a look and see if something doesn’t grab your fancy. <p>Disclaimer: For the most part, I have not read these yet, so I can’t vouch for their quality. But, from what I’ve heard and seen, odds are good they just might appeal to you.</p>

The artists mentioned in the blurb were masters and are still huge influences to modern comic and graphic artists. And it&#8217;s sturdy enough for repeated reading. The publisher link above includes a great preview that shows just how charming and delightful this stuff will be to experience. Lots of fun!</p>

<p>I really loved Zak Sally&#8217;s <a href="https://www.fantagraphics.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&#38;flypage=shop.flypage&#38;product_id=1113&#38;category_id=452&#38;manufacturer_id=0&#38;option=com_virtuemart&#38;Itemid=62&#38;vmcchk=1&#38;Itemid=62" target="_blank"><em>Sammy The Mouse</em></a>, so it sounds like I have a good reason to buy this. And so do you. To give you an idea of what&#8217;s in store, there&#8217;s a neat Flickr video of someone flipping through the book, which serves as a de facto preview of sorts, and there&#8217;s also a <a href="http://www.fantagraphics.com/images/stories/previews/likdog-preview.pdf" target="_blank">10-page preview</a> as a PDF file.</p>

<p>Det er i rollespil som alt kunst: alt er gjort før, øvelsen er tage brugte ting og sætte den sammen på en ny måde, for derved at skabe noget nyt:</p>
<p><em><strong>Morten:</strong> Der er allerede lavet et vandrelive med landevejsriddere. Kig i sidste års KP-bog, så vil du finde en artikel om det.</em></p>
<p><strong>Mig: </strong>Ja jeg regnede med at der var lavet et vandrelive, men ikke et vandrelive, hvor historien ikke er givet på forhånd, hvor, der hvor vandringen finder sted er afgørende for historien. Hvor strukturen er så løs, at det kan spille hvor som helst, når som helst og med fra 1 til x(endnu ikke besluttet) spillere. Det er det jeg tænker. (Forstil dig, hvor forskelle en historie der forgår kl. 3 om natten i et industrikvarter med ti spillere kan være fra en historie, der sker ved middagstid i en idyllisk skov med to spiller.)</p>
<p>Selve fundamentet for historien skal være ideen om en vandring. Man skal finde ud af, hvorfor denne historie bevæger sig fra punkt A til B. og forklaringen skaber man gennem de omgivelser man befinder sig i. Nogle rigtigt gode historier har vandringen som ramme, det er den slags historier jeg vil have spillerne skaber via selve det at gå og via det sted de går i.</p>
<p>Ideen kommer fra at jeg selv nyder meget at gå ture, Dan Turell beskrev det meget flot i en af hans I byen artikler. Om hvordan det er at være nattevandre. Den følelse, den meditation den inspiration der kommer ud af at gå og lade omgivelserne sive ind under huden på en synes jeg er dybt tilfredsstillende og noget jeg tror man kan bruge i rollespil. (Flere af mine scenarier er udviklet via lange ensomme gåture.)</p>
<p><em><strong>Morten:</strong> For resten hvis du laver en vandretur med punkter, hvor man skal spille scener, hvor adskiller det sig fra, at man går rundt i en kæmpe skov, og støder inde i andre spillere, og spiller en scene?</em></p>
<p><strong>Mig:</strong> Tja at min ide går ud på, at man bruger omgivelserne på en meget dybere måde. Man bruger de følelser og association, som omgivelserne giver til at bygge en scene med. Til at skabe scenens tema og konflikt.</p>
<p><em><strong>Morten: </strong>Din ide med at landskabet skal spille en aktiv rolle i scene er interessant, men gør man ikke det intuitivt om man står i en skov, på en slette eller en gammel høj?</em></p>
<p>Jo men jeg går jo så frygteligt meget op i, at det vi gør intuitivt skal frem og bruges bevist og stærkere. Samt, at hvis man er enig om at bruge det på den måde, tror jeg det kan have større effekt. Samt jeg synes, der ligger endnu et lag i at finde stedets metaforer og mere gemte muligheder frem.</p>
<p><em><strong>Morten:</strong> Det med at slå terninger om, hvilken vej man skal gå, er allerede blevet udforsket i Luke Reinhardts bog Terningemanden, og endnu tidligere i Carl Barks-historien om Anders And og Platismen.</em></p>
<p><strong>Mig: </strong>Ja kender godt den historie, men det var mere for at tvinge spillerne til at gå nye veje, hvilket er så vigtigt, hvis man skal sætte sin kreativitet i gang. Hvis ikke det blev gjort på den måde ville en lokal kendt måske blot tage og føre gruppen til sine velkendte områder.</p>
<p>Det er vel sådan set humlen, kreativitet. Jeg ønsker at bruge selve vandreturen og en ekstra styrket opmærksomhed på ens omgivelser til at forstærke ens kreativitet og måske ligefrem tvinge en til at tænke i andre baner og derved skabe en anderledes historie.</p>
<p>Tak for de udfordrende spørgsmål, det trak ideen mere frem. Men der går nok længe før den bliver til noget, har andre scenarieplaner der skal udføres først.</p>

<blockquote><p>Yuri Luzhkov has said that snow should be banished from Moscow in winter to save money and improve life in the city. He claimed that farmers outside the capital would enjoy more abundant harvests if his cloud-seeding programme was adopted.</p>
<p>Mr Luzhkov noted that city authorities already used such techniques to break up rain clouds and guarantee good weather on important public holidays, such as the annual May 9 parade celebrating victory in the Second World War. “Why don’t we keep this snow outside the Moscow city limits?” he said. “For the countryside, this means more moisture and bigger harvests. And for us, less snow.” </p></blockquote>

He wrote and illustrated a Disney Duck story in 1961 called &#8220;Monsterville.&#8221; </p>
<p>Gyro, an inventor, worries about energy consumption and what pollution is doing to the environment and sets out a way to help Duckburg be a more efficient and healthier place, complete with a perfectly controlled climate. It&#8217;s perfect. It&#8217;s completely perfect and it&#8217;s perfectly boring. Education has gotten perfected &#8211; special devices in the pillows make osmosis a snap. Even Uncle Scrooge is upset over how much money he&#8217;s making &#8211; a computerized brain revolutionized the way he does business and took all the fun out of doing it. Gyro finally gets a clue when his own little mechanical helper builds a robot to do Gyro&#8217;s job. Gyro lives for his job so he pulls a gremlin and sabotages all of the easy-life equipment, allowing Duckburg to get back to normal.</p>
<p>Snow&#8217;s normal. It&#8217;s supposed to fall in the winter in certain parts of the world when temperatures and conditions are just right. I wish the stuff wouldn&#8217;t fall so heavily in my town either. Some years we have three feet of the stuff by Halloween and some years it&#8217;s still covering sidewalks until April. It&#8217;s hazardous, and time consuming to clean up, and wet and cold and when the wind gets strong enough it blows everywhere. But it&#8217;s normal. City parks and lawns need the moisture, too and <a href="http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061230123635AAAdZAe">10 inches of snow roughly equals an inch of rain</a>. As nice as it would be to try and make it fall elsewhere, it&#8217;s still a necessary thing. </p>
<p>The money saving angle is interesting:</p>
<blockquote><p>A programme to manage the weather would cost only a third of the amount spent on snowploughs and round-the-clock clearance operations. City authorities send 2,500 snowploughs into action to clear snow, and employ an army of 50,000 workers to clear Moscow’s streets and pavements.</p></blockquote>
<p>So what would those workers do instead? Has that been decided? Is the snow removal just on top of the work they&#8217;d be doing anyway, or are they special crews hired specifically for winter work like that? If many of those families depend on that income every year and the Mayor winds up getting his way, how is that going to &#8220;improve life&#8221; for them?</p>
<p>And there are still the environmental concerns. Locals have noticed the difference it makes when Moscow moves clouds out of the way for special occasions. The surplus precipitation can be problematic. Nobody wants to be flooded out. And certainly nobody wants to be buried under all the snow that would invariably fall around the city instead of into it. Environmentalists and scientists in general are wary of this idea. There&#8217;s no way to tell what sort of effect winter cloud seeding would have in the long run.</p>
<p>Scientific advancement is a wonderful thing but still. There have to be limits. And if there don&#8217;t seem to be any technological limits anymore, then it&#8217;s even more essential to have some human ones. </p>

Happy birthday Donald Duck! Sono passati settantacinque anni da quel lontano 9 Giugno del 1934 quando, giovane anatraccolo, debuttasti sul  grande schermo nel disegno animato <em>The wise little hen</em> (<em>La gallinella saggia</em>), con un look completamente diverso da quello attuale( becco lungo, corpo tiroidale) e come  spalla al tuo fianco un tale Peter Pig, abile quanto te nello scansare qualsivoglia attività lavorativa; pochi mesi e il disegno animato venne trasposto con qualche adattamento in una storiella a fumetti, pubblicata a puntate nei supplementi domenicali dei quotidiani statunitensi, <em>The little red hen</em>, <em>I due fannulloni </em>in Italia( n.28-35 Supplemento a Topolino, Ediz.Nerbini), con sceneggiatura di Ted Osborne e disegni di Al Taliaferro.<br />
Iniziava così la tua carriera nel mondo dei fumetti, ma mentre in America venivi affiancato a Topolino( <em>Topolino giornalista</em>), a volte anche insieme a Pippo( <em>Topolino nella casa dei fantasmi</em>, in cui appari “rinfrescato”, becco corto, corpo rotondetto, pupille più espressive), dove risaltava il tuo carattere di irascibile attaccabrighe, in Italia Federico Pedrocchi, redattore dei periodici a fumetti della Mondadori , intuì per primo, nel 1937, le tue grandi potenzialità e ti rese protagonista della storia<em> Paolino Paperino e </em><em>il mistero di Marte </em>pubblicata a puntate su un settimanale a te dedicato; intanto il già citato Taliaferro nelle tavole domenicali stava man mano affinando la tua psicologia, facendoti divenire adulto con l&#8217;arrivo dei tre paperotti Qui, Quo, Qua(<em>Huey, Dewey, Louie</em>), figli di tua sorella Della, che te li affida momentaneamente, ma che non ti lasceranno più; colui che comunque ha affinato al meglio il tuo carattere, dotandoti di una personalità complessa, dalle tante sfaccettature psicologiche è stato il grande Carl Barks, permettendoti di levarti di dosso lo stereotipo della pigrizia, rendendoti impegnato in mille mestieri che purtroppo finivi per perdere causa la tua irrazionalità o la tua supponente voglia di strafare, ma anche protagonista di lunghe, splendide storie in giro per il mondo, coinvolto in varie avventure, ora in compagnia dei tre nipotini, ora del ricco zio Paperon de&#8217; Paperoni( <em>Scrooge Mc Duck</em>), che sempre Barks fa esordire nel 1947, così come l&#8217;oltraggiosamente fortunato Gastone( <em>Gladstone Gander</em>),  il tuo cugino a cui va sempre tutto bene, ma  in fondo solo grazie alla Dea bendata, senza alcuno sforzo o sacrificio,  quindi senza quelle soddisfazioni che tu riesci ad ottenere rialzandoti dopo ogni caduta, continuando a lottare  sperando che la sorte ti arrida.<br />
Tornando in Italia, molti autori hanno preferito puntare sulla tua originaria pigrizia, ma altri hanno saputo trarre profitto dalla lezione barksiana, come Romano Scarpa, Luciano Bottaro o Carpi, il quale nel 1969  ti ha graficamente dotato di una personalità segreta, il mitico Paperinik.<br />
Ti sei mai chiesto, mio caro vecchio amico, quanto noi esseri umani abbiamo potuto identificarci, consolarci, autoassolverci, pensando alla tua straordinaria capacità di uscire in fondo vincente da ogni disavventura, giornata andata storta, qualsiasi grattacapo sopraggiunto all&#8217;improvviso, di continuare sempre a sperare che l&#8217; ultimo sogno rimasto nel cassetto non si dissolva alla luce del giorno? Un grazie di cuore per quanto hai saputo donarci in tutti questi anni, facendoci ridere e commuovere da attore consumato quale sei, che i nostri auguri possano giungere in quel lontano regno della fantasia in cui non fa mai male rifugiarsi di tanto in tanto&#8230;Ah, dimenticavo, con la confidenza che mi viene concessa dalla nostra lunga amicizia&#8230;hai mai pensato a sposare Paperina? Eh, che carattere! Sempre irascibile a quanto vedo&#8230;</p>

<p>El crítico y editor canadiense <a href="http://www.jeetheer.com/" target="_self">Jeet Heer</a> ofrece hoy un par de entradas interesantes. La primera de ellas en <a href="http://comicscomicsmag.blogspot.com/2009/08/dark-vision-of-carl-barks.html" target="_self">Comic Comics</a> aborda el carácter hobessiano de Carl Barks, creador del universo de los patos de Disney:</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><em>Barks’ world is an affectionless one. It’s hard to recall a moment where one character feels any genuine friendship or fellowship for another. Huey, Dewey and Louie, it could be argued, work as a team but they are not really separate personalities: They seem like clones. <p style="text-align:justify;">Por otra parte, en <a href="http://sanseverything.wordpress.com/2009/08/11/felix-the-cat-blackface/" target="_self">Sanseverything</a>, reflexiona sobre los <em>funny animals</em> como estereotipos raciale<em>, </em>reproduciendo una extensa cita del escritor John Updike:</p>

This fact was revealed to me in conversation with Saul Steinberg, who, in attempting to depict the racially mixed reality of New York streets for the super-sensitive and race-blind <em>New Yorker</em> of the 1960s and ‘70s, hit upon scribbling numerous Mickeys as a way of representing what was jauntily and scruffily and unignorably there. <p>Ontem, após a vitória por <strong>3 X 1 sobre o Grêmio</strong> pela <strong>semifinal da Libertadores</strong>, foi a vez do repórter global <strong>Josino Ribeiro</strong> receber seu afago.</p>
<p>Quando perguntado se poderia repetir a formação do Mineirão no<strong> jogo da volta</strong> em <strong>Porto Alegre</strong>, Adílson não hesitou e <strong>cheio de ironia respondeu:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Cientista maluco </strong>e <strong><a href="http://aepidemia.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/professor-pardal.jpg" target="_blank">professor Pardal</a></strong> foram só alguns dos adjetivos repetitivamente utilizados por <strong>Itatiaia</strong>, <strong>Globo</strong><strong> Minas</strong>, <strong>TV Alterosa</strong>, <strong>Diários Associados</strong> e companhia.</p>
<p><strong>Adílson </strong>é um <strong>técnico moderno</strong>, que não se acomoda. <strong>Incansável </strong>e<strong> super trabalhador</strong>, está sempre buscando <strong>novas opções de jogo</strong> para sua equipe, <strong>novas possibilidades</strong> pra este esporte em constante mutação.</p>
<p>O que os respeitáveis órgãos de imprensa chamam de <strong>invencionice </strong>são <strong>estratégias armadas</strong> com a finalidade de <strong>surpreender </strong>e <strong>neutralizar </strong>os adversários. Assim o fez ontem, assim o fez nas <strong>quartas de final</strong> quando o <strong>Cruzeiro</strong> deu um <strong>verdadeiro chocolate </strong>no tri campeão brasileiro, o <strong>São Paulo</strong>.</p>
<p>Contra o <strong>Grêmio </strong>por exemplo, <strong>Adílson tinha um mundo de problemas</strong>. Ramires na <strong>seleção</strong>, Léo Fortunato, Thiago Ribeiro, Soares, Sorín, Fernandinho, Athirson, Gérson Magrão e  Fabrício <strong>machucados</strong>, sem falar em Thiago Heleno que <strong>jogou </strong><strong>meia bomba</strong>, também contundido. Com certeza estou esquecendo algum desfalque, mas só estes aí bastam né?</p>
<p>Mas aí <strong>ninguém fala</strong> que ele teve que se virar e encontrar, <strong>ou seria inventar</strong>, uma <strong>solução</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Adílson </strong>é um excelente treinador, <strong>um dos melhores trabalhando no Brasil atualmente</strong>. Um cara que entende que hoje, <strong>pra se ter um time campeão</strong>,  é preciso ser  <strong>versátil</strong>, proporcionar <strong>variações táticas </strong>capazes de surpreender e confundir os adversários.</p>
<p>Mas mesmo assim <strong>tenho a certeza</strong>, assim como <strong>aposto que ele também</strong>, que na <strong>próxima derrota</strong> as <strong>comparações </strong>com o <strong>simpático personagem de <a href="http://political-analysis.org/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/barks-painting-lg.jpg" target="_blank">Carl Barks</a></strong> voltarão.</p>

Dengang udnyttede jeg nogen gange muligheden for at score rabat på maden hos hende, når jeg vidste hun var på arbejde. En af gangene havde jeg således besluttet mig for en æggesandwich, men det var uventet nok en ganske speciel oplevelse. Der var ikke flere tilbage, så hun producerede en overordenlig stor en for de 5kr hun smed i kasseapparatet – en ganske rimelig kilopris. Men det var i sig selv ikke lige præcis det der fik mig til at undrer mig, det havde hun sagt hun godt kunne finde på. </p>
<p>Det var mere det æg hun trak frem, for det var cirka 20 cm langt. Hvordan kunne det lade sig gøre? Aflange høns? Gensplejsning? Eller bare et nyt sadistisk påfund fra det industrialiserede landbrug?</p>
<p><img src="http://toogfyrre.wordpress.com/files/2009/06/square-watermelon.gif?w=300" alt="square-watermelon" title="square-watermelon" width="300" height="225" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-371" />Jeg fik aldrig nogen forklaring på den mystiske oplevelse, og glemte det helt ind til for ganske nylig, hvor jeg blev gjort opmærksom på at japanerne havde fundet på at lave firkantede vandmeloner. <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/asiapcf/east/06/15/square.watermelon/index.html">En ganske gammel ide</a>, og også ganske simpel. Man lader den vokse inde i en kasse, og så former den sig ganske simpelt efter sine omgivelser. Intet mystisk i dét. Der findes faktisk <a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/Grow-a-square-watermelon/">guides</a> til hvordan man gør det.(og minder i temmelig høj grad om det uhyggelige, dog ikke eksisterende <a href="http://www.shorty.com/bonsaikitten/">”bonzai-kitten”</a> fænomen.)</p>

<p>Efter lang tids søgen i selskab med google, har jeg fundet frem til at det er en ganske gammel opfindelse fra – ja, overraskende nok fra noget så ueksotisk som Odense. </p>
<p>
De første der var ude med et apparat der kunne lave aflange æg var det danske firma Sanovo, og som det <a href="http://www.sanovoeng.com/idd342.asp">fremgår af deres hjemmeside</a> skulle det have været en ganske besværlig proces at fremstille maskinen. </p>

Noget i den stil. Er der nogen der ved noget mere?</p>
<p>En ting er ganske sikkert. Jeg får netop nu, en enorm lyst til at læse <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_in_the_Andes!">Carl Barks. </a></p>

When I was a teenager I start appreciating the <strong>Disney&#8217;s character</strong> because he wasn&#8217;t a double-dealer like his lucky cousin Gladstone Gander. Donald Duck is <strong>75 years old</strong> and may be my father. I spent my best summertime reading his adventures, laughing in being bloody unlucky. I don&#8217;t put up with Mickey Mouse and his down home! In life it is necessary to be on the one hand or on the other one! I want to share this birthyday party with a cartoon character who is spontaneous. My adult universe is very different: I don&#8217;t want to take myself too seriously!</p>

<p>I love Donald Duck. I have never been a very big Mickey Mouse fan, in fact I would almost say I hate Mickey Mouse, but I love Donald Duck. </p>
<p>Donald Duck was the everyman.  A little hot-headed, always having things go wrong&#8230; struggling to make it through the day. That is why I loved Donald Duck. Even when I was younger I found it much easier to like a character with real personality and faults.</p>

This short marked the first appearance of Donald Duck. Donald would have a long career at Disney, and would at times surpass Disney&#8217;s Mickey Mouse in popularity.  Donald, according to the <a href="http://www.wolfstad.com/dcw/blog/2009/06/happy-birthday-donald-duck/">Disney Comics Worldwide</a> site, has appeared in over 150 cartoons. That is a pretty impressive number in my opinion. </p>
<p>These days Donald and his family live on in comics. Living off of a rich and well built family and history created for him by the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Barks">great Duck artist Carl Barks</a> in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duckburg">town of Duckburg </a>and kept going by the equally as great <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Rosa">Don Rosa </a>and others.</p>
<p>In the United States Donald is not as popular as he once was, but in Eurpoe he continues to thrive. Each year Tons of new comics are released and the Duck&#8217;s adventures continue. While here his fate is up in the air for the time being. With financial problems sending Gemstone publishing the way of the DODO the future of Disney comics is up in the air&#8230; With a little luck another company with enough love and respect for the characters will pick up the liscence and do right by them. </p>

Jeg vokste opp med Donald Duck &#38; Co og Bill Wattersons &#8216;Tommy &#38; Tigern&#8217;. Den sistnevnte tegneserien er fortsatt blant mine favoritter. Donald-tegneseriene er så mye forskjellig. Jeg vil anbefale Don Rosas og Carl Barks &#8216;Donald&#8217;-tegneserier for alle tegneserieentusiaster. </p>
<p>&#8216;Pondus&#8217; er min favoritt blant de norske tegneseriene. Men det er andre som er gode også, som f.eks. &#8216;Helt Nils&#8217; og &#8216;Nemi&#8217;. </p>
<p>Blant de aller beste tegneseriene er Gary Larsons &#8216;Larsons gale verden&#8217;. Jeg anbefaler alle å også se de to animasjonsfilmene som er laget med basis i hans tegneserieunivers (på engelsk: &#8216;Gary Larson. Tales from the Far Side&#8221;.)</p>
<p>Når det gjelder de litt mer politiske tegneseriene, så vil jeg trekke fram Aaron McGruders &#8216;Boondocks&#8217; og den svenske &#8216;Arne And&#8217;. &#8216;Boondocks&#8217; handler om to afroamerikanske brødre som må flytte inn  hos bestefaren sin i en hvit forstad, og hvordan de håndterer dette. For den som har de amerikanske popkulturreferansene inne, og kan en del amerikansk historie, så er &#8216;The Boondocks&#8217; noe av det mest underholdende som finnes. Jeg anbefaler også tegnefilm-tv-serien av &#8216;The Boondocks&#8217;. Du kan få tak i den på DVD i Norge. </p>
<p>I tillegg må jeg trekke fram Marjane Satrapis glitrende &#8216;Persepolis&#8217;, som også er blitt gjort om til en meget god helaftens tegnefilm. </p>
<p>Alle som er opptatt av Midtøsten-konflikten bør utvilsomt lese Joe Saccos strålende tegneserie-&#8221;dokumentar&#8221; &#8216;Palestine&#8217;. </p>
<p>En veldig alvorlig tegneserie er Art Spiegelmans &#8216;Maus&#8217;, som handler om nazistenes jødeforfølgelse før og under 2. verdenskrig. Denne &#8220;grafiske novellen&#8221; anbefales på det aller varmeste! </p>
<p>Og mens vi er inne på grafiske noveller, må jeg også nevne Frank Millers, David Mazzucchellis og Richmond Lewis&#8217; &#8216;Batman: Year One&#8217;. Alle &#8216;Batman&#8217;-fans bør få meg seg denne. I tillegg vil jeg anbefale Neil Gaimans &#8216;Sandman-tegneserier&#8217;. </p>
<p>Til slutt vil jeg nevne &#8216;Asterix&#8217;. Hvert eneste &#8216;Asterix&#8217;-album er en stor fornøyelse.  </p>

Ce dernier, à la fin de chaque histoire sera inexorablement confronté à un choix difficile ou à un compromis entre conserver ses richesses ou sauver des gens.</span></p>

Au contraire ce sont toujours les adultes qui provoquent le plus de gaffes, et les neveux armés de leur manuel sont souvent ceux qui trouvent les solutions aux problèmes rencontrés.</span></p>

Même s’il na pas donné naissance à Donald Duck, Carl Barks travailla notamment à rendre ce dernier plus accessible au lecteur. En commençant par museler  son attitude bêtement arrogante et moqueuse des premiers cartoons, pour en faire un personnage enclin à vivre de grandes aventures.</span></p>

Des ojets insolites, comme les tableaux accrochés aux murs ou encore ces statuettes ou autres écussons dont ses histoires regorgent. <p style="line-height:19px;font:13px Georgia;margin:0;"><span style="letter-spacing:0;">Pour des puristes comme <strong>Art Spiegelmann</strong> ou encore <strong>Lewis Trondheim</strong> (pour rester dans le registre BD) c’est un des plus grand illustrateurs et scénaristes de Comics Américain (si ce n’est le plus grand) ; ayant un style inimitable et une passion pour le conte et l’illustration que même le lecteur occasionnel ressent.</span></p>
<p style="line-height:19px;font:13px Georgia;margin:0;"><span style="letter-spacing:0;">Pour d’autres c’est un exemple à suivre, comme c’est le cas de <strong>Keno Don Rosa</strong>, qui s’est fait un devoir de perpétuer l’héritage Barksien en créant des suites appropriées aux histoires de Carl Barks ou en approfondissant l&#8217;histoire familiale de Picsou (dans le très réussi <strong><em>La</em> <em>Jeunesse de Picsou</em></strong>). Suites directes aux histoires originales méticuleusement écrites et dessinées, trahissant par là un profond respect pour l’œuvre de Barks (Comme dans <strong><em>Retour à Trallala<span style="font-weight:normal;">)</span></em></strong>.</span></p>
<p style="line-height:19px;font:13px Georgia;min-height:15px;margin:0;">Pour certains cinéastes c’est une constante source d’inspiration, comme le confirme <strong>Steven Spielberg</strong> qui est tout à fait conscient que l’ouverture avec le rocher roulant <em>d’</em><strong><em>Indiana Jones et les  Aventuriers de l’Arche Perdue</em></strong> est empruntée à l’histoire «<strong> <em>the Seven Cities of Cibola</em></strong> » de Barks.</p>
<p style="line-height:19px;font:13px Georgia;margin:0;"><span style="letter-spacing:0;">Ou encore <strong>Georges Lucas </strong>qui déclare « Ma plus grande joie dans les Comics de Carl Barks c’est l’inventivité des histoires qui fourmillent d’idées folles, uniques et spéciales… ».</span></p>

<li><em>Celui d’une compagnie de renflouement qui s’inspira d’une technique que Barks inventa pour les besoins d’une histoire avec Donald et consistant à souffler dans  la coque à l&#8217;aide d&#8217;un gros tuyau des balles de ping-pong pour faire remonter à la surface une épave échouée ; technique qui s’avéra efficace.</em></li>

<li><em>Plus surréaliste encore, l’histoire de cet Allemand qui se faisait surnommer “</em><a href="http://forums.kraken.fr/index.php?topic=1365.0;wap2"><strong><em>Dagobert</em></strong></a><em>” (nom Allemand de Picsou) et qui joua avec les nerfs -et toutes les ressources- de la police Allemande 2 années durant (1992). </em><span style="line-height:normal;"><em>Ceci en organisant des extorsions “Hi Tech”, comme ramasser une rançon avec une voiture télécommandée qui sera poursuivie par la police dans les égouts de Berlin (véridique !).</em></span></li>
</ul>

On </span><span style="text-decoration:underline;">la vit</span><span style="letter-spacing:0;">, pleinement, au même titre que les héros de ses histoires. Quand on est petit et qu’on tombe sur une histoire conduite par le Sieur Barks ; on n’en sort pas indemne :  il nous en faudra toujours une autre pour nous remettre de la précédente.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><!--more-->Rett før gitaristen Robert White døde i 1991 spiste han middag med musikeren og journalisten Allan Slutsky på en restaurant i Los Angeles. Så strømmet den eviggrønne Motown-slageren ”My Girl” ut over anlegget. Dette fikk White til å bryte ut ”hei, hører du den?” til kelneren. Utbruddet går over i plutselig resignasjon, og White ber kelneren glemme saken.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">– Du skulle til å fortelle at det var du som spiller på sangen? spør Slutsky.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">– Ja, men da ville han bare trodd jeg var en gal gammel bløffmaker, svarer White.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Slike situasjoner har alle musikerne tilknyttet plateselskapet Motown Records opplevd ustanselig. Med dokumentarfilmen <em>Standing in the Shadows of Motown</em> har White og de andre gamle ”bløffmakerne” i husbandet The Funk Brothers endelig fått en dose anerkjennelse, oppreisning og ære. Ikke minst gjennom to Grammy-priser for musikken fra filmen.<span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Selv om The Funk Brothers på 1960-tallet spilte på en ustoppelig strøm slagere fra The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson og en lang, lang rekke andre artister, forble musikerne totalt ukjente. The Funk Brothers arbeidet ustanselig i et lite kjellerstudio i 2648 West Grand Boulevard i Detroit, men fikk ikke en gang navnet sitt på trykk på platene de spilte på. Ikke før Marvin Gayes banebrytende album <em>What’s Going On? </em>i 1971, men like etter flyttet Motown til Los Angeles og The Funk Brothers ble oppløst året etter.</p>

<p><strong></strong>Allan Slutsky forteller historien til disse glemte musikerne, først gjennom 1989-boken S<em>tanding in the Shadows of Motown: The Life and Music of Legendary Bassist James Jamerson</em> – om den skoledannende og legendariske fyllebøtten som var ryggraden i The Funk Brothers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">James Jamersons unike spillestil og rytmesans revolusjonerte pop og r&#38;b, men han ble bare intervjuet tre ganger i karrieren. Han døde i 1983, kort etter at TV-kanalen NBC sendte hyllesten <em>Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,</em> et program som ga plass til Adam Ant – men ikke et eneste medlem i The Funk Brothers. Slutsky fortsatte arbeidet med Motown-musikerne sammen med regissør Paul Justman, og resultatet ble dokumentarfilmen <em>Standing in the Shadows of Motown</em>.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">– Funk Brothers? De har jeg aldri hørt om, bortsett fra at det kunne ha vært meg og broren min.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Mannen bak ordene er Lava-bassist Rolf Graf. Lava har nettopp gitt ut comeback-albumet <em>Polarity</em>, og medlemmene var gjennom 1980-tallet og 90-tallet blant Norges mest bruke studiomusikere.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Jeg kjenner ingen studiomusikere som er rike og berømte. Skillet mellom eget band og innleid studiomusiker er et problem vi i Lava kjenner godt. Enten må bandet ditt være så sterkt etterspurt at du kan få høye honorarer for spillejobber, eller så må du ta på deg studiojobber for andre artister. Men fortsatt er det slik at er du musiker i eget band er du kunstner, mens en studiomusiker bare er en håndverker. Men studiomusikere farger lydbildet sterkt, og vi legger igjen mye av signaturen vår selv om vi bare er innleid for en tre timer lang sesjon, sier Graf, som ikke har tall på hvor mange plater han har spilt på.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Samlebåndet The Funk Brothers spilte på alle Motown-platene som ble gitt ut på 1960-tallet, helt siden Motown-boss Berry Gordy samlet de dyktigste musikerne fra jazz- og bluesscenen i Detroit i 1959. Historien forteller at studiobandet fikk sitt navn etter at Motown-sangeren Friedrick Earl ”Shorty” Long utbrøt ”today, we ain’t playin’ nuthin’ but funk, brothers!”. The Funk Brothers kunne arbeide opp til 14 timer om dagen, sju dager i uka i studioet de døpte ”The Snakepit”, der de spilte inn opp til tre slagere på én dag. Allikevel tjente de så lite at de var nødt til å ta oppdrag for andre plateselskap og jazz- og strippeklubber i tillegg.</p>

<p>– Motown er egentlig historien om et fantastisk studioband som stadig byttet ut vokalister. Bandet var den røde tråden, og de skal ha æren for at Motown-musikken høres ut som den gjør, sier Allan Slutsky i et intervju med USA Today.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Rettighetene til alle Motown-slagerne ligger i dag hos plateselskapet og låtskriverne, i hovedsak Norman Whitfield, Smokey Robinson og teamet Holland-Dozier-Holland. The Funk Brothers ble aldri kreditert for innsatsen de gjorde med å utvikle og arrangere musikken.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– The Funk Brothers fikk nesten frie tøyler. De fikk musikken utlevert på noter eller som en enkel pianodemo. Det var mange låter å velge mellom og de måtte først godkjennes av et eget Motown-styre; slikt var helt vanlig i popsammenheng på 1960-tallet. Etter at en låt kom seg gjennom nåløyet ble den spilt inn av The Funk Brothers, der musikerne brukte sine individuelle spillestiler for å sette farge på sangen, der særlig tromme- og bassstilen var viktig, forklarer musikkjournalist Audun Vinger, som karakteriserer <em>Standing in the Shadows of Motown</em> som ok, men vel sentimental.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">– Den bærer preg av at halvparten av musikerne er døde og at Motown ikke har vært involvert i filmen. Det er utskuddene, de som ble behandlet dårlig som kommer til orde.</p>

<p><strong></strong>The Funk Brothers er på ingen måte det eneste studiobandet med stor betydning for musikkhistorien. Brian Wilson benyttet seg av kremen av Los Angeles-musikere på flere av Beach Boys-platene, Booker T. &#38; The MG’s var ryggraden i den dampende funken fra Stax Records, mens MSFB formet ”philly soul” og disco i Philadelphia på 1970-tallet.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Kretsen rundt Los Angeles-bandet Toto var viktige studiomusikere på 1970- og 80-tallet, og i dag omgir hiphop-produsenter som Dr. Dre seg med et hoff av medhjelpere og musikere. Men ingen har vært så viktige, produktive og usynlige som The Funk Brothers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Den mest slående parallellen er Disney-tegneren Carl Barks. Han arbeidet med Disneys etablerte figurer, men selv med lav timelønn og i full anonymitet slavet han frem den ene udødelige historien etter den andre. Ikke rart The Funk Brothers beskriver årene med Motown som Piken med svovelstikkene, ”som å være på utsiden av en drøm, mens du ser inn i den”.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Verken ære, rikdom eller berømmelse</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>– Vi var bare musikere. Vi har ingen rettigheter selv om mange av sangene endte opp som våre egne. Noen ganger ble arrangementene av en sang gjort etter at vi hadde spilt den inn, det sier litt om hvordan det foregikk, forteller vibrafonist Jack Ashford i The Funk Brothers til Blackfilm.com.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">I Norge får musikerne i det minste navnet sitt på platene, og på 1990-tallet ble også ordningen med Gramo-penger innført – slik at musikerne får vederlag når de spilles på radio. Men det er verken ære, rikdom eller berømmelse forbundet med å være norsk studiomusiker.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Vi har aldri vært flinke til å ta oss betalt. Vi har gjort mange arrangementer uten honorar eller kreditering, og lønnen har ikke vært bedre enn 180 til 350 kroner timen. På <em>Innerst i sjelen </em>med Sissel Kyrkjebø fikk vi først betalt for fire-fem timer i studio, men produsent Svein Dag Hauge sto på veldig for at den skulle omarrangeres fra den svenske versjonen. Derfor fikk vi også rundt to prosent av rettighetene for arrangering. Men i andre tilfeller blir en behandlet som en fabrikkarbeider, sier Rolf Graf.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">I 2001 gikk trompetist Arve Henriksen til sak mot plateselskapet Universal Music, fordi selskapet i 1999 uten Henriksens samtykke ga ut et konsertopptak med D&#8217;Sound der han medvirket. Oslo byrett frikjente plateselskapet etter at Henriksen fikk en sjekk på 4500 kroner.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– For mitt vedkommende er dette tilbakelagt, forteller Henriksen på telefon fra Tyskland, der han er på turné med Supersilent.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Men det forteller litt om status i bransjen. Jeg ble tilbudt å være med på en plateinnspilling i Bergen med en stor norsk visesanger, der jeg skulle stå for blåserarrangementene og spille på fem låter. Selskapet mente 4000 kroner uten royalties var en grei betaling for dette. Flere av de store selskapene ser på studiomusikere som en brukskilde som kan betales latterlig dårlig. Kanskje burde en i dag kunne se at musikere er tungt involvert i en produksjon med å fargelegge og bidra til arrangementer, sier Henriksen, som har spilt på storselgere som Silje Nergaards <em>At First Light</em> og også skal arbeide på Nergaards kommende plate.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">– Det har vært forferdelig mye rovdrift på studiomusikere. Det jeg har lært er at du må være på vakt og inngå klare avtaler på forhånd; du må enten være businesstype eller ha eget management, sier Henriksen.<span> </span></p>

<p><strong></strong>Men det er ikke bare de store selskapene som kan behandle studiomusikere dårlig, også i musikerkretser og blant publikum har selve ordet en odiøs klang. Audun Vinger tror det har å gjøre med rocke- og kunstnermytene.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Studiomusiker har alltid vært et ”dirty word”, men ikke i alle miljøer. Det er særlig i rock- og punkmiljøer ordet ikke representerer gutta i øvingslokalet. Å være studiomusiker har intet å gjøre med trange jeans og jenter i baksetet. Det er ren musikk, og fjernt fra guttedrømmen om å være</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">rockestjerne der image ofte er viktigere enn musikk. Er en interessert i å skape den beste musikken, er det ikke så rart at en bruker studiomusikere for å oppnå et best mulig resultat, synes Vinger.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Rolf Graf i Lava kjenner også godt til fordommene mot studiomusikere.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Bare en skarve studiomusiker! På 1970- og 80-tallet var det en ære å være studiomusiker, det er ikke en drittjobb jeg gjør for å tjene 500 spenn. Den negative klangen tror jeg følger av musikkritikere som har mindre greie på prosessen ved å skape musikk enn de tror. I dag gjør Jaga Jazzist det samme som Lava gjorde i 1981, de samarbeider hele tiden med ulike artister som Bigbang, Bertine Zetlitz og The Margarets, sier Graf.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Er Jaga Jazzist det nye Lava? Vi tar en telefon til trombonist Lars Wabø på jakt etter svar. En periode virket det som annenhver norsk plate hadde gjestespill av blåserrekken i Jaga, men nå har de bremset forteller Wabø.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Jaga det nye Lava? Det var skremmende å høre! Jeg føler meg ikke som en studiomusiker, først og fremst fordi det er hele blåserrekken som har arbeidet med band som Home Groan, The Margarets, Cato Salsa Experience og Bigbang. Vi tok oss ikke betalt, og ser på jobbene som vennetjenester. Vi er på ingen måte noe studioband, du kan ikke leie inn Jaga Jazzist for en jobb.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Et band som er mer komfortabel med å sjonglere egne plater og leieoppdrag er D’Sound, der trommeslager Kim Ofstad og bassist Jonny Sjo hyppig kalles ”en av landets beste kompduoer”.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– Studiomusikere har bidratt med mer enn de fleste tenker over. Jeg var på trommeklinikk med Bernard Purdie, som påstå han hadde spilt trommer på flere Beatles-plater uten å bli kreditert for det. Og hva hadde Michael Jacksons <em>Thriller </em>vært uten trommeslager Jeff Porcaro fra Toto? Sammen med produsent Quincy Jones satte han sitt særpreg på platen, og skapte et banebrytende popsound, sier Ofstad.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">Selv har han spilt trommer for så forskjellige artister som Anne Grete Preus og Flava To Da Bone.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<p class="MsoNormal">– I Norge er dette en helt annen verden. Jeg blir ringt opp, får en sum for en låt eller går på timesbetaling. Da føler jeg det mer som et oppdrag, men i andre sammenhenger skapes musikk i studio. Jeg er stolt over å være både artist og studiomusiker, selv om du som studiomusiker ikke alltid har det enkelt. Du må innrette deg etter andre og samtidig ta vare på ditt eget særpreg. Men jeg tror skillet mellom band og studiomusikere er i ferd med å viskes vekk. Se på hiphop, der finnes det knapt band. Eller hva med Queens Of The Stone Age? De kjenner hverandre kanskje fra før, men når de henter inn Dave Grohl fra Foo Fighters for å spille trommer er det akkurat den samme prosessen studiomusikere jobber i, synes Ofstad.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Kanskje Dave Grohl viser veien fremover? Den tidligere Nirvana-trommeslageren er frontmann i sitt eget Foo Fighters, men har i det siste også latt seg leie inn som rytmemaskin for venner som Queens Of The Stone Age, Tenacious D og Cat Power. Men fortsatt er det flere briljante, men ukjente musikere som slaver i studioer verden rundt slik The Funk Brothers gjorde gjennom hele 1960-tallet.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">– The Funk Brothers er lydsporet til livet vårt. De har laget musikk hele verden kjenner, men det er ingen som vet hvem som faktisk spiller musikken vi alle elsker, sier Allan Slutsky i et intervju med New York Press.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Carl Barks&#8217; Ducktales Volume 1 is a trade paperback containing some of Carl Barks&#8217; most famous Uncle Scrooge stories, that were later used as the basis for the Ducktales cartoon series of the 1980s. I really recommend this as well as Volume 2 as they are perhaps the cheapest way to buy Barks&#8217; brilliant stories. The best thing aboout these tales are that they are not only suitable for children to read, as they aren&#8217;t dumbed down like other child friendly books I could name, but adults can enjoy these stories too. </p>
<p>Volume 1 contains some of Barks&#8217; greatest Scrooge stories, including my all time favourite Back To The Klondike, which reveals how Uncle Scrooge made his fortune and met his one true love Glittering Goldie, by becoming an argonaut in the Yukon goldrush of the 1890s. This is perhaps the most famous of all Barks&#8217; stories and in the 1990s inspired Don Rosa to chronicle the history of Scrooge McDuck with the Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck. It is truly great story that everyone who loves comics and Disney should read.</p>
<p>Also featured in Volume 1 are The Land Beneath The Ground, which reveals the real reason why earthquakes occur, Micro-Ducks From Outer Space, Lemming With The Locket, Lost Crown Of Genghis Khan, and Hound Of The Whiskervilles. All are great reads showing just what a dynamic character that Scrooge is. Barks&#8217; writing is truly inspired and shows just what a great imagination that he possessed. Atualmente, é a mais ativa comunidade sobre quadrinhos Disney.</p>

Ela prioriza a série, ainda atualmente em produção, <em>Saint Seiya &#8211; Episódio G</em>, que conta a adolescência dos Cavaleiros de Ouros (o &#8220;G&#8221; é de &#8220;Gold Saints&#8221;) em suas batalhas contra os deuses Titãs.  Essa série é mensal e está sendo publicada concomitantemente à série semanal <em>Saint Seiya &#8211; The Lost Canvas</em>, que narra a Guerra Santa anterior entre Athena e Hades. A comunidade está, atualmente, com poucos tópicos atualizados, devido à baixa qualidade de <em>Lost Canvas</em> e aos atrasos na publicação de <em>Episódio G</em> tanto no Japão, quanto aqui.</p>

Podem até existir comunidades maiores no orkut (não pesquisei sobre), mas, com certeza, em questão de conteúdo, esta vence todas. A menos que o seu interesse seja participar de um daqueles Jogos descerebrados ou acompanhar tópicos imbecis do tipo &#8220;O Cebolinha é melhor que o Cascão&#8221;.</p>

Para quem quer tirar dúvidas sobre a cronologia, acontecimentos ou quer saber como está a repercussão de determinados eventos do Universo DC assim que as revistas são lançadas nos States. Um único alerta é que eles seguem de acordo com os lançamentos americanos. Quem acompanha as séries da DC pela Panini ou pela Pixel, invariavelmente receberá spoilers.</p>

O número 616 é uma referência ao fato do Universo Marvel regular ser o Universo 616 do seu Multiverso.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Geralmente, as pessoas pensam em quadrinhos Disney como apenas um produto para crianças, que não se pode levar a sério quem os lê após uma certa idade. Na verdade, o preconceito ocorre com os leitores de quadrinhos em geral, mas com quadrinhos como Pato Donald e Tio Patinhas isso é algo mais evidente, uma vez que o público alvo usual das histórias são, realmente, as crianças.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">O que a maioria não sabe ou não percebe é que, apesar de também existirem artistas de qualidade duvidosa que fazem histórias apenas infantis e esquecíveis, dentro do mundo dos quadrinhos Disney também trabalharam alguns dos maiores quadrinhistas de todos os tempos, que publicaram um grande volume de revistas e enredos da mais alta qualidade. São histórias que podem ser lidas por pessoas de todas as idades (é claro que com diferentes níveis de compreensão) que tanto divertem quanto emocionam.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Este post é apenas uma breve introdução sobre alguns destes grandes autores, principalmente o maior de todos eles e um dos maiores quadrinhistas de todos os tempos, Carl Barks.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Quando se falam dos maiores quadrinhistas de todos os tempos, muitos citam Will Eisner, mas quantos, de fato, conhecem ou leram Spirit (que terá uma adaptação ao cinema para ser lançada em breve)? Outros citariam Neil Gaiman, mas quantos leigos saberiam citar as razões de <em>Sandman</em> ser uma obra-prima? Podem citar FranK Miller ou Alan Morre, muito embora obras como <em>300</em> ou <em>V de Vingança</em> tenham ficado mais conhecidas do grande público devido às adaptações cinematográficas. Agora, o legado de Carl Barks é conhecido por todo mundo.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Em mais de 500 histórias escritas para a Família Pato, Carl Barks transformou o Pato Donald, que não passava de um pato gasguito e escandaloso, em um personagem crível, humanizado, com defeitos e qualidades. Deu todo um plano de fundo para as aventuras dele, criando a cidade e o estado onde ele mora, personagens com quem ele se relacionasse, aumentou a profundidade psicológica dos coadjuvantes já existentes, como os três sobrinhos em histórias que até hoje podem ser apreciadas. Além de diversas referências mitológicas, geográficas, cinematográficas.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">E por falar em cinema, as aventuras publicadas em <em>Uncle Scrooge</em> são verdadeiros clássicos de aventuras, com Tio Patinhas, Donald e os três sobrinhos viajando pelo mundo atrás dos mais variados tesouros, encontrando desde a Atlântida até as Minas do rei Salomão. Inclusive, uma das cenas mais icônicas do cinema norte-americano, a fuga de Indiana Jones com uma bola de pedra descendo atrás dele em <em>Indiana Jones e os Caçadores da Arca Perdida</em> foi assumidamente inspirada em uma cena semelhante de uma histórias do pato sovina.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Daria para eu falar vários e vários posts sobre as influências e as nuances barksianas, que conseguia fazer histórias nas quais se pode se divertir, se emocionar e até ter momentos de reflexão. E, aliás, é o que eu farei em breve.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Considerado por muitos o herdeiro artístico de Carl Barks, Keno Don Rosa tornou-se mundialmente famoso entre os apreciadores de quadrinhos ao publicar, em 1992, uma das grandes obras-primas da década de 90: <em>A Saga do Tio Patinhas</em>. Nesta mini-série em 12 edições, Don Rosa simplesmente contou toda a biografia do pato mais rico do mundo, unindo todas as referências biográficas que Carl Barks havia posto nos enredos escritos para a revista <em>Uncle Scrooge</em> em uma história que conseguiu ser ao menos tempo emocionante e engraçada, divertida e épica, totalmente acessível para um leitor de primeira viagem e um verdadeiro manual para um apreciador da obra barksiana. Totalmente rica em detalhes, a obra mostra as aventuras de Patinhas McPatinhas desde que obteve sua primeira moeda até a sua primeira aparição nos quadrinhos, além de deixar subentendido a resposta para diversos &#8220;mistérios&#8221; das aventuras da Família Pato, como o que aconteceu com os pais de Huguinho, Zezinho e Luisinho e por que Donald cuida deles.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">As histórias de Don Rosa são conhecidas também pelo fato dele ter instituído uma &#8220;cronologia&#8221; própria paras os seus enredos, como se os enredos dele fossem uma continuação das aventuras escritas por Carl Barks, sempre colocando referências à histórias escritas por Barks. Assim, nas obras de Don Rosa, Donald e cia ainda vivem na década de 50, época do auge das publicações da obra de Barks, Tio Patinhas têm por volta de 80 anos (ele nasceu em 1867), dentre outras referências.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Uma nota de curiosidade é a história <em>A volta dos sete (menos quatro) cavaleiros</em>, uma aventura que ocorre no cerrado brasileiro e reuniu novamente Pato Donald, Zé Carioca e Panchito.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Um exemplo de quadrinhista Disney de excelente qualidade é Roberto Canini, um dos responsáveis pelo &#8220;abrasileiramento&#8221; do Zé Carioca. Explica-se: inicialmente, o Zé Carioca não tinha enredos próprios. As histórias dele eram, na verdade, histórias originais do Mickey ou do Donald em que artistas nacionais desenhavam o papagaio por cima deles. Assim, foram criados do nada os personagens Zico e Zeca, sobrinhos de Zé Carioca, para se colocar no lugar de Huguinho, Zezinho e Luisinho. Além disso, eram comuns histórias em Zé Carioca se aliava ao Pateta (!) para fazer investigações policiais (!?) em Patópolis (?!?). Roberto Canini foi um dos primeiros a colocar o papagaio em cenários autenticamente nacionais e deixá-lo mais brasileiro. Além disso, em pouco mais de 100 histórias, ele foi capaz de criar alguns conceitos ainda hoje utilizados nas histórias do papagaio, como a agência de detetives Moleza e a Associação Nacional de Cobradores do Zé Carioca (ANACOZECA).</p>

<p>This story is a satire of the superhero comic book genre which was just started to become popular when Barks wrote this tale in 1949.<br />

Gemstone currently publish reprints of Disney comics, which are worth hunting down, but they are kind of expensive. Still, there are very few intelligent comics being published these days that are kid friendly and that adults can enjoy too. </p>

<p><strong>Tio Patinhas</strong>, na história <em>Em Busca do Ouro</em> (<em>Back to the Klondike</em>), publicada em <em>Uncle Scrooge 2</em> (mais recentemente no Brasil em <em>O Melhor da Disney &#8211; As Obras Completas de Carl Barks 5</em>). Nesta cena em especial, é mostrado um flash back do Tio Patinhas, no auge dos seus 30 anos, quando era um garimpeiro no Klondike (Alasca), indo recuperar uma pepita de ouro que haviam roubado-lhe. Ele simplesmente desafia um saloon inteiro e derrota (em um único grande painel) mais de vinte marmanjos armados com facas, facões, cacetetes, vidros, revólveres, etc.</p>
<p>Goku? Batman? Wolverine? Que nada! O maior ícone porradeiro da história dos quadrinhos foi o Tio Patinhas!</p>
