Parées de leurs plus beaux T-shirts, elles ont affronté vaillamment les 6 petits km de parcours autour de la Tour Eiffel.

Pas d’objectif (cette année en tout cas !!), seulement un petit challenge entre collègues qui les fait arriver à la place de 219 / 240.  

Bon ce n’est pas un record, mais pour leur défense, la nouvelle recrue, alias Manue, n’est pas une habituée des baskets et a fait exploser le compteur !! Je la cite : « Au bout de 2 mètres je suis essoufflée comme un bœuf ! »

L’année prochaine, c’est promis, elles recommenceront, plus nombreuses !

I went to bed last night feeling guilty after realising I had managed to put off having a chat with Gareth, my youngest son, about something fairly important, as mentioned in last nights post, and on top of that because I had told Carole, my ex and his mam, that I would have this chat I found myself worrying about what she would think of me, yes I know, still.

I guess due to going to sleep with these feelings and thoughts in my head I woke up in the early hours of this morning after having had a dream, a dream concerning Carole, with an ending that upset me and left me unable to get back to sleep, not good, I was in a blue kind of mood right from the start, a really crappy start to the day.

When I was in work this morning I was in a really poor mood, a bit down and still managing to feel both guilty and wondering what Carole would think, I was unable to concentrate properly, so I decided I would have the afternoon off with half a days floating holiday.

I decided to visit Furness Reptiles for the first time, this is a new venture based in Furness Owls Centre here in Barrow, unlike Furness owls this is a brand new business, it has a shop selling reptiles and most of the kit and food you’ll require to keep your new pet. It also has a section which is still growing where various reptiles are displayed for the public to view. I was given a tour round the animals on display by the young lady on hand (sorry I can’t remember your name) and was helped in the shop by her and Mark, thanks very much you were both very friendly and helpful. While up there I got a tub of Nutrobal and a nice new big wooden hide for Timmy and Tammy, Timmy had started carrying the old one round on top of his shell because it was too small, I also wanted a new basking light bulb for the tortoise table but they didn’t have the one I wanted, they very helpfully offered to order one in though.

This visit brightened me up a little and now I’m home I’m glad to say I feel a little bit better although a bit tired, mind you my sons will tell you I nearly always feel tired, its just really a matter of how tired.

Anyway that’s it for today, I wouldn’t have thought I’m going to have anything else of interest to say, so, I’ll say bye for now folks and see ya next time.

Det libanesiska folket är kända för sin vänlighet och gästfrihet.

Konst i Libanon: juveler, mode, hantverk och musik finns det gott om i den libanesiska civilisationen. Libanon är medlem av World Intellectual Property Organisation som skyddar alla skapelser av mänsklig intelligens. Smyckessektorn räknas många kreatörer och blomstrar tillsammans med turism, mer än 60 procent av produktionen eporteras eller sälje i Libanon för besökarna.

Traditionella skogsvaror exporteras till hela mellanöstern.

Libanon handeslbeteckning: Libanon är också ett av mellanösterns nav för ett antal mjukvaro och hårdvarotillverkning. Det finns hundratals produkter och företag som exporteras till de flesta länder i mellanöstern.

Brottslighet i Libanon: libanesiska civila rätten vilar på den franska Napoléons lag. Polis samt “Force General security” upprätthåller lag på gatorna. Människor tar sällan lagen i egna händer. Kriminalitet är mycket låg i Libanon.

Utbildning i Libanon: Utbildning är mycket viktigt för libaneser. Många föräldrar föredrar att placera sina barn i de dyraste religiösa friskolorna där de kan få moralisk vägledning.

Barn uppmuntras att lära sig, libanesiska barn växer upp med djup respekt till sina föräldrar. Högre utbildning uppmuntras och landet har bland de bästa universiteten i regionen.

Kulturen i Libanon: varierar beroende allmänt om de olika etniska grupperna som bor i Libanon. Arabism vs Phoenicianism, det skulle vara fel att inte ha med Libanons mosaik kultur. Det är en blandning av främmande kulturer från mellanöstern och väst, ett land i fullständiga kontraster och ett land som inte kan definieras av enbart en kultur.

Man kan lätt uppleva någon form av musik i Libanon, till exempel: rockfans kan besöka ”Nova” pub, för blues och jazzfans, ”the blue note”, techno och trancefans, ”basement” och ”B.O. 18”.

Den libanesiska nationalrätten är kibbe, en köttpaj gjord av fint malet lamm och burghul vete. Den nationella drycken är Arak, en stark anissmaksatt sprit framställd av jäst druvsaft. Den traditionella libanesiska maten börjar med en lång rad mezze och vin som är från den bördiga Bekaa dalen. Dessa inkluderar Chateau Ksara, Chateau Kefraya, Chateau Musar osv. Det mest gemensamma libanesiska ölet Almaza, som ofta dricks på stranden en varm sommardag.

På grund av Libanon unika geografi, både sommar och vintersporter frodas i landet. Under hösten och våren är det ibland möjligt att ägna sig åt båda samma dag, skidor på morgonen och bada i medelhavet på eftermiddagen.

Man har löst detta genom att göra olika rankningar, regeringens ståndpunkter som representeras av olika religiösa grupper, per Taif överenskommelse (1989). Ordförande skall vara marionit, premiärministern måste vara sunni och talesmannen i parlamentet Shia. Skyddshelgon för Libanon är St.Maron, grundare av maronitiska kyrkan som är en dominerande sekt i landet.

Après cette dernière excellente nuit chez nos amis de Montpellier, je me réveille à 8h30. Je fais un gros câlin à Tom et Barbara pour les remercier, ils partent en rdv. Je prends ma douche et embrasse également Fabien qui se rend à son bureau.

Nous rangeons toutes affaires, chargeons la voiture, et nous rendons à quelques kilomètres de là, rencontrer Carole, une amie de Papa.

Elle a une boutique de vêtement pour enfant. Je visite donc son magasin, et elle m’offre une magnifique boite à musique. Je la remercie, et nous allons déjeuner tous les 3. Je me tiens très bien. Nous retournons à sa boutique, où Papa craque pour quelques vêtements sympathiques pour moi. Carole m’offre des ballons et nous l’embrassons très fort.

A 14h30, sous un grand soleil, nous prenons la route pour Biarritz.  Nous nous arrêtons assez souvent, Maman nous appelle pour prendre de nos nouvelles, et nous arrivons à Anglet, vers 20h.

Let’s start with the big news – contest time!  Nameberry is running a contest. Guess the Top Ten girls’ and boys’ names – or come the closest – and you’ll win fabulous prizes.

And I do mean fabulous – you’ll be among the first to have a copy of the much anticipated Beyond Ava & Aiden.

In other name news:

• The fun-lovin’ Chinese government is cracking down on wild baby names.  They’re blaming it on technological limitations.  Interestingly, even the Chinese are having trouble convincing their citizens to comply – so let’s assume that the US won’t be telling new parents they can’t name their little ones Pryncyss any time soon.
• Over on Swistle’s site, a parent wrote in asking if Archer was the new Aiden.  I think the answer is definitely no – I can’t imagine Archer genning so many spin-offs.  (Barcher, Carcher, Jarchyr … nope.)  But he could be the new Tyler or Carter.
• Emmy Jo took a stab at Multicultural Naming for Girls and Boys.  From her girls’ list, my top pick is Elke.  I’m less sure about the boys.  As she noted, it is tougher to come up with culture-spanning choices for our sons!
• Speaking of boys and girls, Nameberry did a makeover of some of the most popular names for each gender.  They’re great lists – and wouldn’t ya know it?  There’s Archer again, as a possible substitute for Andrew.
• Elisabeth at You Can’t Call It “It” has a lovely list of Earth Day names.  Sure, April 22 is past.  But eco-chic is a 365 day affair now, right?  And while I think Lynx and Cougar are crazy choices, I do kind of love Demeter and Fern.
• Actress Jill Scott named her son Jett Hamilton, a name which I find surprisingly pleasing.  It’s not my style, but it has quite a bit of style – and a nice balance to it, too. 
• William Huckleberry’s little brother has a name!  Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have named their son Jasper Warren.  Yup, Warren – apparently he was Brad’s grandfather – the man who gave him his very first guitar.  Maybe that tips the scales in Warren’s favor!
• I sent a PaperbackSwap book to someone named Sian.  And while thumbing through a back copy of some random magazine, I came across a stylish San Francisco-dwelling family.  The kids included Mary Harriet, Carole and Edward.  I thought that was fascinating – ’specially the Carole-with-an-e.

OLYMPIC hero Sir Chris Hoy is to marry after announcing his engagement to his long-term girlfriend.

The cyclist, 33, whisked Sarra Kemp, 28, away on a surprise trip to Prague for the Easter weekend before asking her to marry him with a diamond engagement ring.

Chris’ mother, Carol Hoy, said the family was overjoyed to hear the news and feel like Sarra is already part of the family.

She said: “We couldn’t be happier. Sarra is a lovely girl and he had been seeing her for quite a while. Chris phoned me on Sunday morning to tell me. It was a very pleasant surprise.

“Very romantic”

“He took Sarra to Prague for the weekend – she didn’t know where they were going. Then he asked her to marry him, and she said yes. He had the ring with him – it was very romantic.

“They are a lovely couple. We’ve met her family several times when they’ve been to watch Chris racing.

“Chris is back in Manchester at the moment, getting back to fitness and starting to train again.”

A date and location are yet to be decided, although it’s unlikely to be before the Commonwealth Games next summer.

Beijing 2008

Devoted Sarra was at the side of the track in Beijing when Chris became the first British athlete in 100 years to win three gold medals at a single Olympic Games.

The couple met two years ago at a mutual friend’s party in the Grand Cru bar in the capital.

Sarra has previously said when she saw Chris in the bar she thought he was handsome but didn’t know who he was.

At that point he had already gained fame by winning gold and silver medals, World Championship titles and Commonwealth Games medals.

But it wasn’t until a friend told her he was a gold medallist that she realised who she was talking to.

The pair hit it off instantly and have been devoted to each other ever since, despite maintaining a long-term relationship.

Sarra is a solicitor at Edinburgh based firm Balfour and Manson and specialises in personal injury law.

She did her traineeship with Balfour and Manson before qualifying as a solicitor in 2004 when she was offered a full-time job with the firm.

Chris dad David added: “My wife and I are very happy, Sarra is a lovely girl.”

Worked on the mrstddk a lot today. Added a package update for clutter 1.0.4 and got the sensor framework too. Lots of rebuilding of the SD card made for slow progress. Had a good meeting with James regarding initial build script bring up and such. James said that Kevin wants someone in London for this phase. I guess I would be it. I’ll find out more tomorrow when I go to Folsom.

I need to get more house stuff done, but I’m just not that motivated to do it. Seems like it takes Ang here pushing me to do it. I’m glad she does it because otherwise I don’t think I’d do much.

I feel like there is so much ground to cover with Carole. I need a solid week to go through stuff with her. I hate finding things out about her through an offhand remark. It’s been so long since we really talked though, makes me wonder what’s going on.

Had lunch at El Farolito today at the urging of Syrah on postfarmchat. It definitely hit the spot. El pastor is my favorite. I hope that place doesn’t close. It has been for sale since I moved in here.

I need to go shopping for Ang’s gift. I just have no idea what to get her. For 5 years she mentioned a necklace or something nice that signified our time together. I also need to get GTA4 for Kevin, although he needs to commit that he wants me to build that computer.
