The odometer passed 282,000 miles on OK-29 eastbound during a storm chase on Monday.

It will pass 283,000 soon, after we finish gearing up for Storm Chase Part II.

274,000 Miles and a Jumpstart

I needed a jump start in Socorro today after not unplugging my radio equipment for several days.

The odometer crossed 274,000 miles on I-25NB near Belen, NM.

271,000 Miles

THe Malibu crossed 271,000 miles slightly west of Alpine, TX eastbound on US-90.

266,000 Miles

266,000 miles on the odometer just east of Tupelo, MS on US 78.

Sometime earlier in the day, the engine light came on, probably a low voltage to a sensor.

255,000 Miles

The Malibu crossed 255,000 miles in Socorro, NM (California St) yesterday!

It has been a while since I last posted, so I’ll mention that it crossed 250,000 going through the Oklahoma Panhandle during my annual storm chase. I snapped a blurry photo of the odometer in the dark.

245,000 miles and new struts/shocks

I broke 245,000 miles on Monday while driving on Southern Blvd. in Rio Rancho, NM

At 245,085 miles, I replaced both rear shocks/struts and had the tires rotated. Driving on the bad suspension cupped the rear tires, and so now that they are on the front, they make more road noise, but that will go away as the tires wear.

Gearing up for storm chasing next week…..

240,000 miles!

Last night, the Malibu surpassed 240,000 miles on Paradise Blvd in NW Albuquerque. I tried to take a picture of the odometer with my phone, but they aren’t real great.

The check engine light came on a few nights ago. I think it’s that same sensor voltage problem. I’ll likely get it and the rear shocks repaired before storm chasing this spring.

238,000 Miles

Somewhere on I-25 in Albuquerque (northbound), the Malibu reached 238,000 miles today.

Mileage Milestone: 233,000

The Malibu crossed 233,000 miles last night on I-25 between Socorro and Belen. Soon after, the check engine light came on. I think it is the thermostat- when it gets too cold out, the thermostat thinks it is not updating (if some time has passed and the engine hasn’t reached a certain temperature). Anyway, I’m not overly concerned.

The Malibu reached 232,000 miles on 12/14/11 on Paseo del Norte in Albuquerque, NM.

It is leaking a little bit of oil these days, I’ll have to investigate.

Car Wash and Miles

On 8/30/11, I crossed 218,000 miles last night on McMahnon Rd returning from the Northwest transit center to my house.

I’ll have more updates, I’ve just been lazy about posting them (and can’t remember where I placed some of the receipts…) I think I even have a few photos to post.
