Hey folks, well today is a pretty shitty day, I got my period. I woke up early got all dressed up nice straightened my hair, put make up on because I had an interview to go to.
Well it’s a bit far but still. My interview was at a Lexus dealership . It’s at erin mills. Anyway, so I did all that and I’m pretty sure they don’t want me because to finish off the interview the guy said ” Well, we’re still in the process of interviewing other candidates , but you will certainly hear from us if you meet the qualifications .( With those cynic grins on their faces. ) ” Which translated into realistic understanding means, thanks for coming but you’re not hired. So, I need a job. Bad.

On my way to the interview I was passing Pearson airport and it was the coolest thing, a plane was landing and one had taken off and was flying over Highway 427… IT was wicked , I got stuck in a trance for 5 seconds or so and nearly didn’t see the people breaking in front of me.

All I could think was… Where was that plane headed… And wished I were on it. Sometimes I have the urge to just drive in and ask if there are any standby tickets, and just get on a plane to god knows where.

Oh well.. Where is that investor!?

Background – Electrical Vehicles (EVs) were first in commercial use 100 years ago. However the capacity of the rechargeable battery limited the working range of EVs and was a major concern for EV users. Recently, a new concept to improve EVs working range has been introduced to overcome this problem and make EVs a viable alternative to the IC engine vehicle.

About the lecture – Mass Adoption of Electric Vehicles Battery Swap – Better Place is committed to ending the worlds dependence on oil by supporting the mass adoption of electric vehicles. This speech will give an overview of how Better Place can
overcome the convenience and cost challenges faced by electric vehicles. It will also examine the impact that the Better Placesystem can have to improve the utilisation of existing network infrastructure and the viability of renewable energy. It also examines the Greenhouse and pollution impacts of mass adoption of electric vehicles.

About the Presenter -  Ben Keneally is the Head of Marketing and External Affairs. Note: Before reading this entry, please read the previous one, entitled “Car Keyed”.

After finding that my car had been keyed, I went back in to the gym to ask the receptionist if she knew the woman whose car I had blocked in. The receptionist didn’t know the woman’s name, but she said the woman is a regular at the gym.

I explained the situation to the receptionist, telling her my car had been keyed.

The receptionist was shocked, but then quickly added, “I’m sure she didn’t do it. She’s not that kind of person.”

Right. Of course not. The receptionist called over a trainer friend of the woman.

The trainer agreed that this woman wouldn’t do such a thing. “I know her,” she assured me, “She wouldn’t do something like that. She’s 40 years old.” The receptionist nodded in agreement.

I asked what age had to do with anything.

The trainer reiterated that this woman wouldn’t key someone’s car.

I said, “Look, she and I had an altercation. She was annoyed with me. I went back into the gym, finished working out. When I returned to my car half an hour later, it had been keyed. That’s a mighty big coincidence, if in that half hour window of time my car happened to be keyed by somebody other than the person with whom I had an altercation.”

The trainer began talking about how stuff happens in the lot all the time. My car could’ve been rear-ended.

“But,” I protested, “rear-ending someone’s car is usually accidental – if you rear end someone’s car it’ll also do damage to your car so you wouldn’t do it on purpose. On the other hand, you don’t key someone’s car by accident.” Then she told me my car may have been keyed earlier in the week. I told her I would’ve noticed, since it’s on the driver’s side front door.

Then, she said, “Welcome to LA.”

Welcome to LA. Thank you… oh, wait, you were being sarcastic.

At this point I realized talking this out would be a fruitless exercise. This cunt was taking that other cunt’s side. I had two choices.

1. Call the cops. They probably wouldn’t arrest anyone, but at least they would disturb this woman’s day. The thing is, I try to stay away from cops if I can help it.
2. Walk away and think about it

I chose option 3: write the lady a note and leave it with the receptionist. What did I write in the note? Tune in next week for the exciting conclusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost man drives 370 miles to pick up newspaper

An elderly Australian man who went out to fetch a morning newspaper ended up driving more than 370 miles after getting lost and taking a wrong turn onto a major highway, police said.

The man, 81-year-old Eric Steward, eventually stopped and asked for directions after driving for nine hours, from the New South Wales country town of Yass to Geelong in the southern Victoria state.

What is a pet peeve you may wonder?  A pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill extreme frustration in an individual.   In other words, something so dumb that it can irritate the sh*t out of you.

In this week’s episode of Top Gear, the boys built their own car, a guest drove round the track and they performed a test of an Audi and a Chevrolet.

First off, the guest. I had no idea who this guy was, but apparently he is in some Twilight movie that is quite popular. His name is Michael Sheen, and really, that’s all I know about him. Other than he was in Frost/Nixon and does a good impersonation of Tony Blair, he is also very quick around the track. Even though he didn’t seem to be taking the correct line or driving very smooth, he somehow managed to eek out a lap that was very impressively fast. I believe that the whole lap was won in the second to last corner, where he entered at an unbelievable pace that I have never before seen. Maybe more stars should use that tactic.

In the car test, Clarkson had an Audi R8 V10 on track. He said it was amazingly quick, and it should be. The thing has a Lamborghini V10 in the back that pumps out 520 hp, but it also costs about $150,000. And it doesn’t even look that much different from the V8, except for the little V10 badge on the arches and those horrible looking wheels. Really, those wheels are horrendous and I’m surprised they were approved. Overall, the car sounds good, looks good and goes really fast; but not as fast as the Chevy Corvette ZR1. Though these two cars may not seem like direct competitors, they are actually closer than you might think. For one thing, the Vette has a supercharged V8 that pumps out a ridiculous 638 hp and 604 ft lbs of torque. This means that it is faster than the Audi through the quarter mile and has a higher top speed. It is also surprisingly faster around a track, though you really do have to work at it to make it fast. Also, the Corvette costs only $107,000, and that is a bargain for the performance that you get. However, the Audi is, of course, put together better, will last longer, is faster in the real world, looks better and isn’t made of plastic. Plus, Corvettes have some of the worst seats in the business for being a sports car. Hell, my Subaru has sportier seats that that thing. In the end, the Vette blitzed the Audi around the track, even though it was damp as well. I can’t imagine how fast that thing would be if it had actually been dry.

In the third segment, the boys took a look at building their own electric car and posed the question, “How hard can it be?” turns out, it’s really hard. With Hammond on the chassis, May on the motors and Clarkson (the useless sod) on the body, their work all came together to create Geoff. It turned out to be a big box with a TVR chassis and two batteries for power. The top speed of Geoff was a paltry 10 mph and, as everyone should have seen coming, the boys got into trouble when they clogged up streets, caused slow downs on motorways and eventually left the car alone where it rolled down a hill and into a tree. But that wasn’t the end of the car. They came back in the second half of the segment and remade Geoff as the Thrust Eagle Hammerheadi… or something like that. Anyway, the basic car was exactly the same, with a new bumper and more batteries. They then took the car to the UK proving grounds and put it through its paces. They smashed it into a wall, put it in the side impact machine and performed a drag race with it against tough competition. The car, amazingly, passed all of the tests with flying colors and was given to the auto reviewers at Autocar so that they could test it. Turns out that it actually sucks.

Next week it sounds like they will be making rally cars or something and be figuring out which car company has made the greatest number of brilliant cars. Also, flying caravans; so stay tuned.

No signal is more perplexing than a car’s check engine light. Is my gas cap loose or is my engine about to die? If your car cries orange a lot, you might be relatively unfazed by the bright light. Oh, is that thing on again?

Based on conversations with friends and some time spent looking through online car forums, it seems that Subaru has linked the check engine light to the cruise control on the popular Outback and Forrester (and possibly other models). When the light illuminates, the cruise control is disabled. In order to regain cruise control, the driver has to take the car to a mechanic who can diagnose any potential engine problems. Why has Subaru settled on this design? To encourage preventative care? To boost the profits of its service centers? Both?

Addendum: In late-model cars, serious engine problems are usually foreshadowed by a blinking check engine light.
