E in firea lui…

Astfel femeia capata incredere in el si se lasa dominata cu placere.
2. Intimitatea e sexy! O femeie magulita e trei sferturi cucerita!
Insa intimitatea e premergatoare erotismului.

The ecstasy, passion and turmoil of love- love in all its consuming forms- have been parsed and diss

The ecstasy, passion and turmoil of love- love in all its consuming forms- have been parsed and dissected over the millennia, but the essence continues to elude. Philosophers and poets have struggled to understand this most primal of human emotions, only to come up short. Plato compared love to the appreciation of beauty, but what is beauty? Descartes saw an emotion so dee[ that a lover’s soul actually merged with the soul of the person loved. Freud suspected that love was a vestige of arrested development and confined it to the couch. And yet, Shakespeare might have said it best when he asked, famously, “What is Love” and left the question to answer itself.

The failure to understand love has obviously not prevented us from falling in love. Everyday, someone is struck by Cupid’s arrow and learns, first hand, what love really means. Ask that person to explain it, however, and you will get a hundred different answers- all inadequate. She might argue that love is simply a feeling, like being happy or sad. But that would not explain how love can sometimes contradict itself, our emotions, or why we can be angry and in love with the same person at the same time. Many couples, however, are sexually passionate and may like each other without truly being in love. And then there is the argument that love is a mutual affection based on admiration, attachment and common interests. But love is much more than just a partnership. To paraphrase a familiar catch phrase, sometimes being in love means letting go.

Symbols allow us to express love in a way that words often cannot. The ineffable qualities attributed to love are eloquently captures in a visual language that has evolved for as long as man has sought to explain it. In fact, the earliest love symbols predate civilization and language itself. One of the very first examples of prehistoric art, a limestone sculpture of a pregnant woman, is thought to have been carried by male hunters as a reminder of their mates back home – a precursor perhaps of the modern-day locket. Some even argue that warmth was not the only service fire provided cavemen; it also awakened their desire for knowledge, primarily because it accompanies the desire for love. By the time man began developing a crude written language, love was one of the first symbols coined. In Egyptian hieroglyphics, for instance, the ankh represented a love shared between two people, among other things.

In the millennia since then, the vocabulary of love symbols has flourished and grown more nuanced, offering tongue-tied lovers a token for every occasion. There are gifts of courtship and signs for commitment, even gestures to express mourning over a lover’s death. Each new symbol fills a void in language created by the rising complexity of romantic relationships. Moreover, new symbols are a response to changing social mores. While love may be universal, transcending both time and place, how love is expressed symbolically is a reflection of each culture’s relation to love and sexual relationships. A culture that extolls love will glorify its virtues through rich imagery, while a repressive society will discourage and sublimate them. Seen the other way, whether it finds pleasure in romance, the way young lovers do, or responsibility and consequences, like a schoolmarm.

Some of the most magnificent symbols date back to Ancient Greece and Rome, where love and sex were treated as just another of life’s ongoing bacchanals. Pagan love was guilt-free, hedonistic and unrestrained. Bisexuality was encouraged, as were homosexual relations between men and boys. Paramours and courtesans were considered superior to wives and virtuous women, and men who managed to fall in love were considered victims of illness. In keeping with this “liberated” climate where sex was worshiped, love symbols were elevated from static tokens to the echelons of the Gods. And each God was as fickle and promiscuous as Greco-Roman relationships themselves. Cupid, the mischievous matchmaker, embodies the pleasure-seeking values of this period: a God that symbolizes the uninhibited nature of romance, where few rules dictate where love can strike. Likewise, Venus, the impetuous love Goddess, exemplifies what was considered the enviable qualities of women: uncontrolled passion, insatiable lust and unrivaled beauty.

By the Middle ages, as Christianity swept across Europe, sex was turned into a guilty and sinful activity, more a civic duty than a biological gift. Premarital sex was forbidden and married couples could only have sex in one position and never on Sundays, and then only to conceive children. If women were sometimes relegated to sex objects in Greco-Roman culture, medieval women were second-class citizens, property given away at marriage and valued for being nurturing mothers. Romance as we know it today did not exist; love was merely a pretext for keeping families together. Pagan rituals that celebrated love were suppressed by the Catholic Church across the continent. The festival of St. Valentine’s Day, which originated in Rome to honor the God of fertility, was converted into a commemoration of a martyred saint. And the heart, the symbol of primal love between two people, was recast into a religious icon representing God’s transcendent love for man.

The start of courtly love and the creation of the romantic ideal emerged in the 11th century. Courtly love, which was based on a highly ritualized code that prescribed the behavior of ladies and their suitors, existed to serve the lady. A nobleman in love with a married woman of equally high -or higher- stature had to prove his devotion by heroic deeds and amorous writings. Once the lovers had exchanged pledges and consummated their passion, complete secrecy had to be maintained. Although the pleasures of lovemaking returned, the act itself was regarded as baser than “true love”, expressed mostly through kissing, touching and fondling. As the Protestant Reformation movement gained ground, courtly love introduced the element of romance between men and women for the first time. This revolutionary concept, in which love was based on mutual respect and admiration, elevated women from a servant to an equal, at least in matters of the heart.

This seismic shift in the regard of love- divine sacrament to emotional happiness- was attended by a largesse of love symbols. Courtiers relied on any advantage, including extravagant gifts, to win a woman’s heart. Though little jewelry was made during the Middle Ages, by the 12th century, jewelry making reached the status of a fine art. Diamonds, once reserved for monarchs as a sign of their crushing wealth, became a gift offered in marriage, while gold and other precious metals were removed from the vaults, spun into decorative forms and worn by women to show off their statute and charm. The end of this period also gave us some of the history’s greatest lovers: Romeo and Juliet, the 16th century classic story of star-crossed lovers, and Casanova, the Italian romantic born in 1725 who remains the archetypal seducer of women.

As the Victorian age arrived in the 19th century, love symbols became more baroque and laden. Outright displays of affection were discouraged, and Victorian symbols allowed lovers to express that which could not be uttered in polite company. The rise of capitalism meant the decline of nobility and the ascension of a new class of rich entrepreneurs who rejected the courtly customs in favor of a maudlin sensibility. Women, once appreciated for being dazzling and flirtatious, were now held up to prudish notions about virginity, virtue and modesty. Wedding dresses, for instance, became layered and restrictive, burying the flesh under yards of textiles. This new sensibility is perhaps best exemplified in the subtle language of flowers that allowed lovers to communicate without the knowledge of chaperones. The type of flower presented, its color, even how it was worn conveyed a particular message. And the messages themselves were decidedly Victorian: wallflowers, ivy and myrtle all represented fidelity, while lavender and foxglove were, respectively, devotion and insincerity. If a boy presented a girl with a red rose with leaves and thorns, it meant she was feared, but he was hopeful. If the girl returned it with the leaves removed, but the thorns intact, it was a signal for him to move on.

In the 20th century, Victorian restraints gave way to a new age of romantic love that united sexual outlet, affectionate friendship and family functions in a single relationship. Spurred by a capitalist boom and the burgeoning feminist movement, relations between the sexes became more egalitarian. Marriage was based on love and happiness, rather than on economics or prescribed rituals. Dating as we know it today came into existence and young lovers were given license to experiment before taking the plunge. New love symbols emerged to express this brave new world. Anniversary gifts afforded an opportunity for spouses to celebrate their continuing love. Valentine’s Day became a secular holiday celebrated by school children and grandparents alike; everything from chocolate hearts to greeting cards flooded the marketplace. Young lovers, meanwhile, developed their own special symbols like identification bracelets, tree inscriptions and varsity jackets.

New symbols have also been coined in response to major social, political and medical events in the latter part of the 20th century. The worldwide scourge of HIV and the failure to find a cure has transformed the condom, once considered vulgar, into a life-saving symbol of respect between lovers. The feminist revolution further realigned the boundaries between the sexes, and questioned whether certain love symbols were not themselves sexist in nature. Technology has also given us new avenues of communication through which to express and find love. As any American teenager knows, typing ‘143′ into a person’s pager translates into ‘I love you’. Emails and instant messages have revolutionized the courtship process – think of them as the 21st century’s equivalent to the handwritten love letters from the previous millennium.

It would be obvious to state that new love symbols will continue to arise as love takes on new forms. Yet, the sentiments they express will be surprisingly similar. The Gods of the Greco-Roman era may share little on the outside with the streaming 1s and 0s that make up modern-day love missives. But as their core, both hope to express that which cannot be put into words- the ineffable qualities of love that have stumped man since the beginning of history. Empires might rise and fall, wars might sever relationships, plagues might ravish generations, but love will always -always- conquer time and symbols will be its witness.

As Riley packed his backpack this morning, he announced that he needed another spiral notebook for science class.

“Another one?” I ask. This is the third notebook this year.

“Yeah, the other one fell apart.”

“What do you do to them, Ri?”

“The covers just keep falling off!”

“That’s because you’re not treating them right,” interjects Jake. “You need to treat them like a lover. You need to treat them softly, and carefully. Stroke them gently.”

“Really, Jake? Really?” I ask.

He grins widely, and nods his head, “Yeah.’

“That’s really beautiful.”

“Uh-huh,” he agrees.

“Or,” says Riley, “OR! I could treat it like a notebook, because that’s less creepy.”

I’ve always shared a love-hate relationship with the females in my life – I love them, they hate me.

I’ve always shared a love-hate relationship with the females in my life – I love them, they hate me. In fact, at many parties and other convivial occasions, I’ve seen women glance empathetically at my wife with the sort of expression in their eyes that they might cast upon a painting of one of the early Christian martyrs at an art gallery. I’ve come to know from reliable sources that ladies generally swoon at the prospect of spending an evening out with me – and go into hiding as soon as they regain consciousness.

Some of this state of affairs, I admit, is my own construction. When I entered college, I was determined to be a cowboy (apart from being a doctor of course; I reckoned that with the professional hazards that a gun-fighting cowboy generally encountered, medical knowledge might come in handy), and though I had never ridden a horse, I could draw a water-pistol out of my trouser pockets with the speed of lightning. As all readers of Louis L’Amour and Oliver Strange would recollect, cowboys are very particular in their misogyny and regard the female of the species with rather thinly veiled contempt – until of course they meet that special woman who causes a stirring in their hearts (and presumably in some lower portion of their anatomy as well). So you can say that at that stage of my life, my relationship with females was based on the hate-hate equation.

To make matters worse, I made the acquaintance of a batchmate whose name was Dinesh, and who as I soon learned, had a draw that was even faster than mine. And since he had actually ridden a horse at some school fair, I became absolutely devoted to him. Now Dinesh was even more ardently dedicated to the misogynist principle in ‘The Cowboy’s Manual’ than me. When he grew weary of target practice with his airgun on a cardboard target hung on the hostel-room wall, he taught me to fire paper-bullets at the cheeks (facial that is) of the girls during lectures, using a rubber band as the launcher.

“I help them to be rosy-cheeked without makeup,” he explained.

The girls however were much less appreciative of this philanthropy and my chances as a future Casanova took a considerable beating as a result. This continued for a while; but if there is one thing that I have learnt in life, it is that though a man can fight his destiny, he can never fight his glands. Day and night they screamed their demands to me, until to Dinesh’s intense disgust, I was forced to admit that misogyny was not my cup of tea; in fact philogyny was a better description of my true inclinations. By the time I realized this however, my reputation was already made, and as acute observers of feminine character would agree, once a woman’s mind is made up it is impossible to change it with anything short of brain transplantation. So there I was, stuck with a cowboy’s reputation and a Casanova’s aspirations – just what I deserved, my distaff readers would probably exclaim at this point. But be charitable ladies, I adjure you; a man is entitled to a mistake or two in his youth, I say.

Despite the elephantine character of a female’s memory, I believe I might I have still made it in the end, but for two insuperable encumbrances. Firstly, my nose. Romantic literature, I believe, lays a lot of stress on the role of the eyes in fostering intimate relations between opposite sexes of a species; but first one has to get past the nose to make better acquaintance with the eyes. My nose was neither Roman nor Greek (the two most renowned nosy nationalities), nor was it of any other type that is generally encountered in heroic descriptions in world literature. Possibly, the best description that a perceptive female critic once gave it was a cross between a cauliflower and a potato, and as numerous studies published in ladies’ magazines have shown, women are least attracted to this category of noses. Another female critic observed that my nose was the best argument in favor of the more widespread availability of plastic surgery. And despite the widespread knowledge of the theory propounding a directly proportional relationship between the size of the nose (see illustration below) and a certain discreet organ in the male, girls seemed strangely reluctant to test out the veracity of it by direct observation.

Even more than the nose however, the problem was that the feminine presence affected me in either of two ways – I became as taciturn as a rock afflicted with mutism (habitual readers of ‘Penthouse Letters’ may have misconstrued my meaning if I had written that I became as stiff as a rock), or worse still, a sort of ictus affected me so that my body tied itself into knots and paroxysms of hyena-like laughter erupted from my throat. Either of these phenomenons invariably made my lady companions to prefer to be in Beelzebub’s company if the only other alternative available was mine.

And this was the story of my life, until I met my wife that is – but that is a story for another post you know.

Ok.. I couldn’t do just 5… it was friggin’ impossible!! I couldn’t leave one off without feeling bad…. Though there are 11 I can think of, properly favourite, so one was kicked. Who? I won’t say, cos I still feel bad…

(Literally ALL the eye of the tigers have embedding disabled… so looks like you’ll have to go to yt anyways… evil.. but I supplied the HD one above, so its easy to find lol.

Now, the only one I put in order is Tennant, cos he is my all time favourite, and that will NEVER change. Unless a taller awesome scottish guy comes along. Who’s a more accessable age lol. The rest are in no particular order.

From Tooth and Claw from series 2 of new Who.

David Tennant, 6′1″, 38, doesn’t look it… :swoon:

Because the man is pure brilliance. The voice, the body, the hair. Everything about him is AWESOME, but not completely perfect, ya know what I mean… he’s not…. conventionally conventional. There are flaws, but they just add to his character lol. I could listen to that voice saying anything… for hours… he’s just too lovely. And looks awesome in anything. ANYTHING. Some say he looks elfen, delicate features or whatnot, which could mean I like pretty boys. So untrue. He does fit the pattern of innappropriately aged men lol. Though… he’s the one who started it… I was 15… he was 34. Casanova. All to blame hahahaha. He fits into the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ archetype though. TDH for short.

From High Fidelity, 2000

John Cusack, 6′3″, 43

Not only is he a brilliant actor, a joy to watch, he’s cute too. Not too cute, but cute. And lovely. And so funny. Serendipity is possibly my favourite Cusack flick. Though High Fidelity comes damn close. Then Grosse Point Blank and Being John Malkovich and Con Air. Theres more… but not now lol. He fits with the older man type. TDH.

My favourite photo of Misha to date.

Misha Collins, 6′0½”(exact same height as me…cutting it close lol), 35

He’s just… he’s yummy. First noticed when portraying Castiel in Supernatural in season 4. Just… so…awesome… so adorable as the ignorant/innocent… character. (Can’t say too much….spoilers n whatnot, my friend might read this.) But I tracked down the majority of his other stuff, and he’s just as yummy. Yummy with slightly naff hair and hick-accents and even russian, thought russian I’m not against lol. Can’t wait to meet him at the convention later this month, 2 weeks away! :woooooooooooooooooo!!!! I get to have a picture with him! Eeeeeeeeeeeee! (I’ve let the fangirl out. If you couldn’t tell. lol.) He fits into TDH too, but with gorgeous blue eyes instead of gorgeous brown. I don’t know quite what I’ll do when I meet him….. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Currently my favourite photo of Jensen I thinks....

Jensen Ackles, 6′1″, 31, getting younger slowly lol.

All because of Supernatural. After I gave in and watched Supernatural late last year, I had to make a choice between Jared Padalecki, aka Sam, or Jensen Ackles, aka Dean. As you can see, I went for Dean, sure he’s 3 inches shorter than Sam, but Dean is… Dean…. just….Dean…slightly morally questionable and more bad boy than his younger brother, but not too bad boy, that’d be boring lol. You’d understand if you watched Supernatural and are either a girl or gay lol. Jensen wins over Jared, but the team of the two of them are soooooo cute. He’s of the TDH variety, but with slightly lighter coloured hair lol. He’s a bit younger than the majority of the list too haha. Only 11 years older. He’s engaged to his long term girlfriend Daneel Harris. I’ve only seen her playing total bitches in tv shows or movies, I dunno what she’s like in real life, she’s gotta be nice though, cos Jensen is weirdly shy sometimes apparantly lol. Unless he’s the bitch and she’s the butch LOL. That’d be hilarious if true.

The first image of JJ that made me take notice lol. Also the pic that prompted me to watch Fringe lol.

Joshua Jackson, 6′2″, 31, CANADIAN!

JJ combines 3 of my favourite things. Tall, Canada and JJ Abrams. He’s in Fringe. Awesome new series from JJ Abrams. I notice lots of J’s in my list lol. More to come too. He fits TDH too. In a slightly pudgy faced way. But he’s awesome in all the stuff I’ve seen him in, in a cute, droll, sarcastic way. I started watching Dawson’s Creek because of this guy! Thats like… the lowest I’ve sunk to watch favourite actors… and I’m becoming strangely addicted… DAMN ME…. damn the fluffiness…. damn JJ being in it….

JDM. The Comedian to most guys out there, Denny to me.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan,6′2″, 43

Another older guy. This time I’m blaming Grey’s Anatomy. JDM was Denny Duquette. My favourite guy in the show. Grey’s fans will know of him. Most of you lot won’t lol, some will I’m sure, cos Grey’s Anatomy will be a guilty pleasure, like Dean has ‘Dr Sexy MD’ in Supernatura lol. (A clever combo of House MD and McDreamy from Grey’s.) JDM is….pure sex. The voice is gorgeous. And the eyes…. there used to be a fansite called JDMSchool, but it went away… I don’t know why, but all I know is the creators of the site were far too scary, refered to him always as Daddy for his role in Supernatural as John Winchester, Dean+Sam’s daddy. Also, JDM is the sole reason I finally decided to watch Supernatural. Theres a clear path from one actor to another lol. He again, is TDH.

RDJ in an awesome car advert.

Robert Downey Jr, 44, 5′ 8½”

Shortest of my whole list. First noted while watching Iron Man. Who didn’t? Seriously? The mans hot stuff. Not long after I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by order of one of my friends. But its when I came to uni the fangirling really took off. I bonded with two other girls over RDJ, to begin with lol. We had movie nights, I managed to procure a large amount of his filmography which we watched one by one lol. Charlie Bartletts one of my favourites. He makes up for his lack of height in awesomeness. I watched season 4 of Ally McBeal, got addicted, watched season 5, then started from 1 lol. Got the boxset for christmas. Fits the DH part, but not tall. Tall for some girls I’m sure, but not me lol. I should also mention, RDJ is the reason for the JDM phase, which lead to the Ackles, which lead to Misha. lol. A trail. What did I say?

From Love Actually, a movie I dont actually like lol.

Colin Firth, 6′ 1½”, 49

I can’t remember why I was watching Love Actually… but I do remember Colin Firth’s pretty face staring at me on the DVD case. So I’m blaming that. He may be a archetype for the posh british kinda guy, but least he’s not like Hugh Grant, bumbly british guy… bah…. Firth is…. yummy. He’s the oldest of my list, unless I start counting the semi-fangirlisms lol. He’s just… I dunno… I saw Pride n Predjudice when I was like 5-6, so it can’t be the Mr Darcy thing… He’s got a lovely voice to boot. I went on a Colin-kick a few months ago, got like 6 movies with him lol. Not all good ones. Last Legion is… bad…. very very naff… but he’s in it… so it makes up for it lol. I think late 30’s, early 40’s is optimum Firth age in movies lol. And yes, he’s very TDH. No blondes yet I hope you notice lol. Not sure why that is…

He's riding a unicorn fercryin' out loud! Worship the man!!!!

Neil Patrick Harris, 6′1″, 36, didn’t know lol… was still thinking he was 34 lol.

Now, this guy… less mancandy, more pure win. He’s Barney! Barney Stinson is the pinocle of awesome. The pinocle of Legendary. And he’s not bad to look at lol. I prefer Ted though. (Josh Radnor) Both who I saw in How I met your mother. Later night fluffy comedy. Loved it. And Ted’s just so cute. But NPH has to be on this list cos he’s pure win. He’s in Starship Troopers! In Harold and Kumar go to White Castle(or Get the Munchies here in the UK lol)! And, he is Dr Horrible. He’s epic. I refuse to watch Dougie Houser though, would scare me and scar me lol. First blonde of the list lol.

So smexy.

Nathan Fillion, 6′ 1½”, 38 Same age as Tennant.

Nathan Fillion. Capt Mal. Capt Hammer. And, most recently, Richard ‘Rick’ Castle in Castle lol. He’s tall. He’s Canadian. He’s got brown hair. And he’s got that crooked hot thing going on. Slightly rough around the edges rather, same as RDJ and JDM has I spose lol. Definately TDH. And Canadian! :woop: Not as good as Scottish, but better than Irish lol. First noted in Serenity. Then watched Firefly. I know, shoulda been the other way round, but if I didnt see the movie on ITV4 I probably never would have seen it at all lol. Love that movie.

So… what do these guys say about my taste in men? lol. Well, men over boys definately. 30 is a great age for guys. So’s 40, but when you’re not even 20 (yet, December) its not really feasable lol. I do prefer dark over blonde… but its not exactly important lol.

And do you see any Zac Efron-likes in this list? NO! Thats cos I have decent taste lol. Lowest I’ve sunk is Chad Michael Murray in One Tree Hill. (I didn’t mean to…. :sob:) And my youngest mancandy is Steven Strait. The perfect Jacob. He’s 23 I think. And tall enough. 6′2″ Mmmmm…… and yeah, 23, just IMDB’d him to double check lol.

And, because I just gotta, a few more pics I wanted to use, but didn’t. MANSPAM!!!!!!!!!

In Nederl

Henrik, XIV. Lajos, Casanova, Bonaparte Napóleon. Öt történelmi személyiség, akik a szánalmas szájhősökkel szemben tettekkel bizonyították férfiasságukat.

Nagy Sándor, a király, világpolgár, hódító és csábító kilenc évet töltött vérben és páncélban, amíg Egyiptomtól Indiáig kiterjesztette birodalma határait. Napóleon megjelenéséig a világtörténelem legnagyobb hadvezérének személye körül már életében is legendák keringtek. Krisztus előtt 323-ban, a harcmezőről 32 évesen távozó makedón férfiszépség nők ezreinek fejét csavarta el, ám életének egyetlen igaz szerelme leghűségesebb barátja volt.

VIII. Henrik az angol történelem egyik legkegyetlenebb alakjaként nemcsak népén, de feleségein is gyakorolta hatalmát a 16. században. A rőt szakállú, testes hím uralkodása alatt vált le az anglikán egyház a katolikusról, hat felesége közül kettőnek pedig, a feje a nyakáról.

XIV. Lajos fényűző életében a művészet támogatása, és a politikai kihívások mellett fontosak voltak a versailles-i kastélyban játszadozó udvarhölgyek is.

/V.Sz./

Segons on sigueu podeu dinar a diferents llocs.
