Hi There Internet land! Vallancey here from Ireland. The original Vallancey was always regarded as a bit of an eegit, but he was one of the first people in the 17th century to suggest that the ancestors of the Irish of his time built the amazing megaliths like Newgrange and Lough Crew etc. He used a wild imagination to infer connections between native American languages, Phonecian, and Irish. Most of the time Monsieur Vallancey was wrong, but in the process of being wrong he kicked off lots of the theories of modern linguistics. So – in the spirit of Vallancey, here goes. The topics in here will vary widely. Hope I can find time to keep up regular contributions. Comments, input, debate always welcome. This is my first attempt at a blog, so I am sure I am doing lots of things wrong. I don’t have a category, for instance. But hopefully I’ll sort this out as I go. Any advice, suggestions are welcome, too!

Wow, I’m a very pleased with how my site has been ranked, many of my pages have been ranked on page 1 of Google, and some even at position 1!  I really never expected such good rankings so early.

Some examples are:
‘oak cupboard’ lists my site at the no 8 spot, whilst ‘oak cupboards’ lists my site at the no 7 spot.
’single door cupboards’ – lists my Single Door Cupboard page at the no 3 spot.
‘alto oak cupboard’ – lists my Alto Oak Range page at the no 1 spot.
‘mobel oak cupboard’ – lists my Mobel Oak Range page at the no 1 spot.

So besides getting over excited about my sites rankings, I have been trying to find some more products to include on my site, I have decided to add another ‘category’ to my site (still working on it), should be able to have this online within the next few days.  I’ve also joined a few more merchants, that sell the products that I want to include in this new category.

I also read a forum post about using icodes for displaying vouchers on sites and ebay partner network for displaying ebay products, I’ve never used either of these on my sites before but they both sound interesting so I have joined them both and am now awaiting acceptance.

The journey is at the beginning

Before the visitor can employ his stay in England he has to take the plane from Cologne (which of course you can book through our travel portal www.triptivity.com). Hold it! Not this time – despite the fact that the author up to now always made use of an aeroplane, this time he decided to take the train. And, you won’t believe this, the journey from Bonn to the center of London took only five hours. Considering the extra time which you need when using the plane the journey by train is just as fast. The cost for the train is € 120 (when you book early it cost’s only € 100).

A visit to the British Museum

The British Museum is a “must”. You should visit it on a rainy day, as you know there are quite a few of them. During our visit we “worked” ourselves through the ground floor. Everything else has to wait until next time. By the way the “Rosetta Stone” can be seen twice. There is a small copy which you can touch – the original is behind glass. And something else about this museum. You might get the feeling that you are either in Egypt or in Greece. This has to do with the fact that everything that could be carried was transferred from the countries to England. It goes without saying that this still leads to intercultural problems with those specific countries.

A visit to Buckingham Palace

The highlight of our visit was definitely our visit to Buckingham Palace. During summer time when the queen doesn’t stay at her palace it is open to the public. The visitors are guided through 19 state rooms via audio guide (even in Japanese available). Though 19 rooms seem very few considering the fact there are 775 rooms in this palace it is exciting to walk through them. The queen uses them for official receptions and festivities. One of the rooms is the throne hall. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take photos. However, you can use your camera as soon as your visit of the rooms ends in the garden of the queen. It is recommendable to make use of the posibility to take a cup of tea and some very English cake. The same agency which does the catering for the queen’s garden parties offers this afternoon tea. Finally I would like to suggest a “powder room” before you start your visit to the palace. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and there are only facilities provided at the end.

One or more visits

Of course there are lots of other points of interest in London. We enjoyed long walks along the Themse and had a rest in St. James Park. Not far from Westminster bridge towards the London Eye you can find a very nice restaurant “Giraffe”. We also recommended a visit to one 10,000 musicals. It is worth while! Not only that you can get a seat for a very resonable price; it is fun to listen to the original version (no translation). By the way we got a ticket for Lion King on one of the balconies. Not only was it a bargain, since we couldn’t see 1/5 of the stage, but we had the balcony for ourselves. Other than that we had a super view and in no case we would have wanted to exchange our seats. The tickets we bought at the ticket office of this musical. If you buy tickets at one of the hundreds ticket office around Leicester Square you might get spoiled. The only official ticket office to get better prices is the one directly on Leicester Square.

Shopping

Due to the current exchange rate England has become a paradise for shoppers. There are a lot of shops on Oxford Street. However, those who prefer to find everything in one roof can go to the Shopping Mall “Westfield” located in Kensington. It has over 300 hundred shops (also an Apple store). We can also highly recommend “Mark’s and Spencer’s” for food. This food stores a a little bit more expensiv but it is 1st class quality. Don’t be surprised when you enter that store and find clothing of any kind as this company offers both, food and clothing. On some train station you will find this store offering only food. Talking about clothing, you will alsofind H&M. When you look for something just as reasonable but of higher quality we recommend the company UNIQLO. It’s a Japanese brand and really really good!

Last but not least

If in case you want to discover more about Britain instead of just staying in London we recommend to make use of the British Railway. But you must know that there are different providers offering the rail services. This makes it a bit more difficult when using the interent. First you search on the main page which passes you on to all the different providers. Ok, it would be easier to go directly to the counter and buy your tickets their. However, you can safe up to 50% when buying tickets about three weeks ahead.

A month after he watched his 27-year-old brother die of complications caused by the H1N1 virus, UCF senior Danny Demoraes entered the second-floor conference room at Health Services to receive the flu vaccine.

David Demoraes was two weeks away from becoming a firefighter in August when he began complaining of a cough, vomiting and body aches. By the end of the month he had been admitted to a hospital suffering from pneumonia, a complication of H1N1.

On Oct. 3, after a month-long battle, a blood clot blocked one of his arteries, causing his blood pressure to drop to zero, Demoraes said.

“I felt his heart take its last couple beats,” Demoraes said. “My brother and I used to do everything together. Now everything has changed.”

Danny Demoraes received his vaccine Thursday — one of the 1,500 doses available to students, faculty and staff delivered to UCF Health Services, 24,000 had been requested.

“It’s worth getting the vaccine because you just don’t know who it’s going to hospitalize…who it’s going to kill,” Demoraes said. “If the school is offering free vaccines why not prevent it beforehand?”

Chad Binette of UCF News & Information said that there have been 35 cases of H1N1 confirmed at UCF. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

in Atlanta, college-aged people are within a more at-risk category.

“For instance, between ages 5 and 24, the CDC estimates 2,196 cases per 100,000, but only 107 per 100,000 in the 65 and older age group,” Binette said. “UCF is one of the first Florida universities to receive vaccines and getting the vaccine is the best way to stay healthy and protect yourself from the H1N1 virus. The vaccine is safe and effective, and students can get it for free.”

Thomas Sutton, a UCF freshman micro & molecular biology major, agrees. Sutton said he gets his vaccine as a “force of habit” every year, but his grandmother nearly dying of the virus raised his awareness about H1N1.

Claudia Witcher, nursing director for UCF Health Services, began each session with a short presentation explaining to attendees the differences between the two vaccines. The shot is made of dead viral particles, whereas the attenuated nasal vaccine is a live virus that replicates only in the nostril, Witcher said.

“For homework, go out and tell your friends how easy it is, because we need all students to be immunized,” said Pharmacy Manager Sheryl Gamble.  

Anne Schuchat, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, reported Friday that 129 children have died from H1N1.

According to the CDC, Novel influenza A, H1N1, is a new flu virus of swine origin that first caused illness in Mexico and the United States in March and April 2009. It was determined that the virus was spreading from person to person with the infection causing a wide range of flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. In addition, many people also have reported nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea. On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 in response to H1N1.

As of Nov. 1, the WHO reported the pandemic has infected 199 countries and overseas territories and caused more than 6,000 deaths.

According to a health alert put out by the CDC on Nov. 6, most people who get H1N1 will have a mild illness and recover in fewer than two weeks. Others, however, are more likely to get flu complications that result in hospitalization and, occasionally, death. Complications can include pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infections and ear infections, or worsen chronic health problems such as asthma or congestive heart failure. The CDC urges clinicians to begin antiviral treatment of suspected persons based on direct observation as opposed to relying on rapid influenza tests or laboratory confirmation.

It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to become effective in the system, Witcher said.

She recommends maintaining good hand washing practices, not sharing food or drink with others and employing good coughing and sneezing etiquette in the interim.

“My brother was all about helping people,” Demoraes said. “If anything, he would be happy that at least this message can get out there and help other people. That’s what he would have wanted.”

OK, so its time to buy some new underwear, and for some reason, its not a regular activity for all of us. But when you do, here are the things you should look for

1) Dress your size always, Yes Boxers may be old news but they are good for covering up those stocky areas, so if you have not been your fittest; They’re the way to go.

2)Take time to look around. Don’t just grab whatever you see because you’re afraid someone will see you. you will eventually find the perfect pair, and in the long run you wont be dissatisfied with it.

3)When you have found your perfect pair, wash regularly ,hygene should remain the most important thing and seriously you dont want to get sick, do you?

New Study: Teen Obesity Caused By Eating Too Much Food.

Day 1

The is my drawing from day number 1. I got the cross, dome, and the 2 blocks. I had to restart my drawing because I messed up the lines and the spacing.

I started to add a bit more detail. I drew the ridges, and the arches in one side, and shaded a bit on the ridges.

In this drawing i stepped it up and added way more detail. I finished the second box and the top of the chapel. I did not get to the trees just yet but i had everything above the trees finished and in detail. I started shading the whole tower, my friends told me how to shade half the tower because the sun reflects on one side and does not show on the other side.

I finished my drawing and the trees. The trees was the only thing i had in serious detail. But when i finished it looked legit. Well this is my drawing.
