No, this isn’t going to be yet another of those postings where the author announces that they

No, this isn’t going to be yet another of those postings where the author announces that they’re going to stop posting for a while and signposts this with an hilarious pastiche of Test Card F wherein the girl’s face is replaced by that of Scatman John or somesuch. No siree, Out On Blue Six would never resort to such a cliched tactic, and anyway, as everyone knows, whenever there’s going to be no posts for a while because of mentals getting angry about people laughing at half hour comedy shows and how New Doctor Who is full of gay agenda not like good old Meglos, this is invariably heralded by a stroppy message, a picture of some obscure Francoise Hardy EP, and Catherine Tate taking over for a week. Instead, in the popular Out On Blue Six tradition of surreally ridiculing ancient TV continuity devices, it’s time to take a look at some of the more bizarre variants of Test Card F, with illustrations provided as ever by our old pals at TV Ark:

The original and, depending on how you look at it, best! Yes, it’s weirdly-dressed Carole Hersee and her unsettling gaudy-assembly-of-primary-colours pal Bubbles (“this shit ain’t right, sir”) poised immobile in their Seventh Seal-esque unending game of noughts and crosses, rightly revered for their spooking of entire decades’ worth of youngsters who had accidentally turned on before TV ’started’ and couldn’t understand what in the name of Sara & Hoppity this weird programme actually was, and looking exactly how you try not to remember it. But hang on a minute…

What madness is this? Granada?? It seems that our favourite fear-causers are not content with their hold over the unwary BBC audience, and have decided to implement a ‘no escape’ policy and branch out by taking the ITV regions by force. Like some crazy Murders McFadden & Whitehead, there Ain’t No Stoppin’ Them Now…

Onto something slightly less terrifying, then. Just as the BBC used to sell Play School in ‘kit’ form to overseas broadcasters, so they could refashion the props and scripts to suit their own purposes and dye Humpty in ‘poison’ colours etc, so they would strike similar deals with Test Card F, allowing our global compatriots to opt for slightly less chilling combinations of girl/clown. Here’s how Sweden’s Sveriges TV, famous makers of Xerxes, interpreted the classic design, incorporating a girl who appears to have stolen the top half of her wig from Ken Korda and the bottom half from Pat Sharp, and what is very clearly a discarded Hamble from their own concurrent Play School purchase.

Meanwhile, here’s a more thoughtful and spiritually-leaning interpretation from MBC, the curious Arabic cable channel of the early nineties that only seemed to show about three programmes at a million o’clock in the morning, all of which appeared to have been made in the same room. Also, someone came down the chimney on one once.

Over on The Comedy Channel, being somewhat less concerned with meditative contemplation than they were with Bill Cosby putting all of the plates in the dish washer so that they can be of washed up for the lunch, they opted instead for a not-particularly-comedy-related shot of some goldfish swimming around a deep sea diver out of one of those ‘Bill’ and ‘Dean’-centric Fisher-Price Adventure Playsets. Mind you, it’s really only here in the absence of the legendary Test Card adopted by its spiritual heir Paramount Comedy for the conclusion of a hard day’s showing of endless variations on Greg fretting because Dharma couldn’t understand why she should let ‘them’ stop her from wearing sweaters as trousers – an utterly bewildering photo of a giant chicken standing astride a gridlocked ‘freeway’ of randomly flashing car lights with an Flaming Lips-like orchestra of elongated car horns sounding in the background.

And here’s BSB, early sattelite home of hour upon hour upon hour of nothing interspersed by clunking satire shows featuring the young Armando Iannucci and Stewart Lee (“BOO! HISS!”) and marathon showings of Doctor Who linked by writers who had lost the ability to say anything bar ‘Padmasambhava’, trying to lure in the overnight viewers with Sky Magazine’s idea of a ’sexy’ female posing as a director. Clearly a resounding success.

And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for – a station devoted exclusively to the showing of William Hartnell-era episodes of Doctor Who. Free Delegates For All!

Well, that’s about it for now, but why not treat yourself to an official Televisions Namnden Countdown Clock? Just give it a try and you’ll agree zagreb evrem zlotyk diev!

Ele ainda estará nos especiais de final de ano, “The Waters of Mars” e “The End of Time”, com exibições previstas para novembro e dezembro deste ano.

Encore Mademoiselle V hihi !

Maggie Smith

It’s quite extraordinary but some of the radio and audio productions I have produced are available to purchase from the luminaries at the BBC. So, in the spirit of wanting to make some cash to pay for the cats’ food, I thought I might introduce you to some of these rather wonderful audio products, and offer you links to where you can buy them…please buy them, many many of them, and then buy some more for your friends and families…all the oney goes to a good cause (well, the BBC and then a little to me, sort of!)

starring David Warner, Andy Serkis, Rupert Degas, Sarah Douglas, Martin Jarvis, Jason Isaacs & many more

written by Elliott Stein & Neil Gardner / music by Jeremy Paul Carroll / edited, produced & directed by Neil Gardner

a Ladbroke Productions / Hokus Bloke co-production for BBC Audio

“A stellar cast including David Warner, Rupert Degas, Andy Serkis, Mark Wing-Davey, Michael Fenton-Stevens & Martin Jarvis bring Robert Rankin’s extraordinary fantasty tale to life! This is the tale of two incredible people – one who knows he is incredible and the other who learns to be incredible. Set in 1960 in Brighton, self-styled guru and magus Hugo Rune rescues a young man from drowning and persuades him to become his assistant and partner in solving 12 mysteries. Rizla (for such is the young man’s assumed name) agrees to help as he has lost his memory and has nowhere else to go. There then follows 12 of the most baffling, surreal, exciting, head-scratching and downright far-fetched mysteries ever written…all based in and around the suburbs of Brighton. Across the mysteries Rizla and the audience learn about the Brighton zodiac, the chronovision, time travel, centaurs, a dastardly plot where the NHS kidnap vagrants for body parts, space pirates, the real history of Victorian Britain, Brighton pirates and the fate that awaits mankind should Hugo Rune fail in his task. And of course, there’s a very bad man involved indeed – Hugo Rune’s arch-nemesis of the ages, Count Otto Black – who wants to rule the world (what else!) You will never hear anything else quite like this in your lifetime. Yet another slice of far-fetched fiction in the Rankin tradition.”

By turns dark, tender, violent, thoughtful and uneasily hilarious, The Year of the Flood is Atwood at her most effective.”

“Simon Fanshawe visits an ambitious community project in Bridging the Gap at 1100 on Monday 7th August. The gap in question is the cavernous void between young and old that breeds mistrust and anxiety. Pat Stewart and Rob Burley run the On the Streets project in Gorton, Manchester. Their aim is to develop in young teenagers a sense of their community and show them there is more to life than spiralling from ASBO to serious crime. In the programme, the 15- and 16 year-olds talk frankly about a life they feel has little to offer them – with few or no facilities, threats from gangs, and nothing to occupy their time. The programme attends an events day run by Pat and Rob at the Angel Community Centre, where one highlight is the hand massage session that not only gives the over-60s a chance to relax and enjoy a bit of pampering, but more importantly, a chance for young and old to talk and exchange stories from their very different lives. The campaign itself has won awards for breaking down barriers and helping to develop communication and common interest across generations, and Pat and Rob are determined to “take young people out of the thug mode and elderly people out of the victim mode”. As one of the documentary’s producers, Tamsyn Challenger, says, “To hear a 14-year-old talking about 80-year-old Lou on his estate is heartening when there is little positive coverage of 14-year-old Manchester lads living in depressed areas.” Simon Fanshawe discusses the project both with the scheme’s leaders and also with the police, and guides us through the On the Streets story.”

43mins 30secs radio documentary / as heard on BBC Radio 3

presented by Neil MacGregor

produced by Richard Bannerman / executive produced by Neil Gardner

a Ladbroke Radio production for BBC Radio 3

“Neil MacGregor, the director of the British Museum, marks the 400th anniversary of Rembrandt’s birth. He visits Amsterdam, where Rembrandt made his home for the major part of his creative life, and where he painted the masterpieces that hang in galleries around the world. Rembrandt’s birthday is on July 15, and Amsterdam has marked the year with all kinds of events, from a new musical on Rembrandt’s life to exhibitions looking at every aspect of the artist’s work, from the epic painting of The Night Watch to small-scale etchings and drawings. Neil MacGregor, a longtime enthusiast for Rembrandt’s work, begins the programme in the house where Rembrandt lived in Amsterdam from 1639 to 1658, when bankruptcy in his later years forced him to move. Here, from the basement to the attic, are the everyday objects that Rembrandt would have known, from his box-bed to the huge collection of antiques and curios from all corners of the Dutch-traded world, which Rembrandt made use of to bring the excitement of the exotic into his work. Nearby in the Rijksmuseum, an exhibition puts Rembrandt’s major paintings against those of his slightly earlier Italian counterpart Caravaggio, showing the play of light and dark which gave both artists’ work that gleaming, arresting quality, and which lent a powerful drama to the Biblical or classical scenes they often depicted. In Rembrandt’s case, he turned away from images of beauty or flattery to depict people in all their human frailty – their tenderness, uncertainty, pain, and mortality. It is these qualities, as Neil MacGregor says, that make his paintings reach out so directly to us today, as well as impressing the spectator with their mastery of skill and often dazzling richness.”

Their new environs leave much to be desired: millions of beings from across the Universe have been gathered to live side by side in similar apartments. Instead of creating neighbourly affection, it’s led to terrible battles being waged in the corridors and on the stairwells. The Doctor and Donna must cross the paths of deadly alien mobs as they search for the Edifice’s ultimate authority. Who – or what – lies at the heart of the incredible complex? What destructive scourge is eating away at the Edifice itself? And are the Doctor and Donna trapped forever in this living hell? The Forever Trap features the Doctor and Donna, as played by David Tennant and Catherine Tate in the hit BBC Television series Doctor Who. Written specially for audio by Dan Abnett, it is read by Catherine Tate.”

Many regular Virgin (Oops, I meant Absolute) Radio listeners would have tuned in earlier tonight to

Many regular Virgin (Oops, I meant Absolute) Radio listeners would have tuned in earlier tonight to prepare to enjoy Iain Lees little late night show thingy. Well, we were all pleasantly surprised when it was Iain Lee on, and not some crazy woman stuck on repeat, oh wait, hang on, there was a woman stuck on repeat wasn’t there? And poor Iain didn’t say a word on air for the best part of an hour. Shame really.

Now, it’s not very easy for a caller to literally take over a radio show for an hour or so when they have one thing, and only one thing to say, as radio presenters are quite chatty and will happily out-chat a caller (just take a look at the likes of Geoff Lloyd), but there are times when the caller is simply too stubborn or persistent to get rid of, or are they using their little techniques?

Speak Incredibly slowly; This one’s a winner. Not only has it allowed this woman to talk on the show for a good hour and make half the nation think they’ve tuned into the wrong radio station, but it tends to shut-up the people on the other side of the line, genius!

Stay Calm; However annoying that woman may be, what we did notice was the fact that she never raised her voice. Using this calm and assertive tone, she was able to steer the situation in her direction, whilst everyone else got all emotional and upset. Speaking of steering the situation…

Steer the situation; Fighting a loosing battle? Want to win? Steer the situation! Instead of arguing what you were already arguing about, ask the enemy their name, and criticise that, or maybe their age, and mock them for their lack of experience in life (though admittedly, not in computers, I assume).

Do the “Lauren Cooper”; Am I bovvered though? Instead of listening to the other side, interrupt constantly. This does mean you need a lot to say, though if you would just like to repeat yourself over and over again, then this does the trick just as well, “Look at my face, look at my face, I still ain’t bovvered though”

Don’t expect to be liked (by most anyway); Basically, if all went well and you’ve successfully taken over a radio show, the good on ya! What do you want, a smiley sticker? Because to be honest, if I wanted to listen to some old woman ranting on about a pointless subject, I’d go see my Nan, but the thought of having her on the radio with music playing every so often is enough to drive me to suicide, (or some low carbon, non lethal equivalent)

So, I guess if anyone wants to follow in this darn woman’s footsteps and take over a perfectly good radio show with pointless gibberish, then totally go for it. Just take into account that most people ain’t bovverd to listen to what you’ve got to say (or “gibber?”). No really, Look at my face, I ain’t Bovvered!

#9: The Shakespeare Code (3.02)

#7: Silence in the Library / The Forest of the Dead (4.8-9)

#6: Father’s Day(1.8)

#5: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (1.9-10)

Are you my mummy !?” m’a légèrement fait sursauter…

#4: army of ghosts / doomsday (2.12-13)

#3: The Girl In The Fireplace (2.4)

#2: Utopia/the sound of drumbs / the last of the timelord (3.11-12-13)

One of the first things that most people notice about me is that I am not ‘one of da Posse

One of the first things that most people notice about me is that I am not ‘one of da Posse’, indeed I find the whole idea and theory of being down wiv da kidz utterly mystifying. The only time I will ever use ‘newspeak’ is in mockery of others, perhaps not the use for which it was originally intended. It truly fascinates me to hear some of the ‘yoof’ of today speak, I find it utterly confusing as they talk about ‘ragging it’ and the day being cheerful, i.e. ‘Happy Days’. This, for me is the crux of the matter. It is not easy to keep up with the ever changing face of the modern language, as used by the modern ‘kidz’. New phrases are introduced, seemingly every day, and trying to keep up with these phrases is something that I have never felt able to do. As a seventeen year old, perhaps I should try to learn this new tongue, to be better able to understand my fellow youngsters, however I do not feel that this will help me. If this is the speech of the next generation, then I dread to think how the politicians of my generation will speak. Public speeches should be quite amusing then.

I believe that the best summaries of newspeak have been given by the Little Britain team, and Catherine Tate, with their fine comic characters of Vicky Pollard and Lauren Cooper, considered by some individuals to overextend the problem. Unfortunately, I have heard people replicate their catchphrases, and not even in jest. It’s a great pity really. But absolutely bloody hilarious to listen to. I leave you with one final thought. Wen ure gettn down wiv your homie dogs, don’t forget, wen ure ragging it, be safe man, big up the keds and jst say no.

One of my blog friends uses that title for when anyone hovers over my name on her blog roll listing.
Sadly, I was without a title for this post and that seemed as good as any.

I know I’m not posting enough to get very many comments, but I am getting lots of Spam.
One of my Spam offerings was from someone name John asking me to change his password.
Sorry John, no can do.

I would like to be sharing with you my next great bulletin board idea.
Instead I am in what some of us call “Registration Hell.”
I am cross eyed from checking student accounts to make sure the “little darlings” don’t have any book fines or charges.

I am amazed, daily at the number students who show up to register and are owing $280.00 – $400.00 in books.
If taxpayers behind the Orange Curtain knew how much of their tax dollars were lost annually on missing textbooks…there’d be Tea Parties over that too.

I know, I should lower my expectations for student behavior…I’d be much happier. I just can’t seem to manage that. My five year old was expected to act like he was 21….why can’t teenagers act like my son when he was 5?
Here’s a typical example of the dialogue during registration. Keep in mind the students had 2 months to return their late books.

HotLibraryTech: “Dick/Jane, you owe text books/library books. Where are they?”

Dick/Jane: “They’re at home.”

HotLibraryTech: “Why didn’t you bring them?”

Dick/Jane: “I don’t know.”

HotLibraryTech: “You are going to go home and get them, I’ll be waiting.”

Dick/Jane: “Right now?”

HotLibraryTech: “Yes, right now.”

Dick/Jane: “But I have to walk/Can’t I bring them on the first day of school/It’s hot outside/my friend owes a book too”….(be sure to imagine this scene with the student, whinning.)

HotLibraryTech: “Good exercise/No you can’t/You should have worn sunscreen/Good, your friend can stop at their house and get their book before you come back.”

When the student(s) would arrive back at registration with the missing book, my favorite line to say was “Ohh look, the book(s) are back! Did they have a nice summer?”
The student would sheepishly reply, “Yes.”

I was watching some Catherine Tate videos on Youtube the other day and this one was so appropriate for nearing the first day of school. Enjoy…or be thankful.

On DOCTOR WHO, the Doctor and Donna land in 1926, and crash a crash a society party at Eddison Manor

On DOCTOR WHO, the Doctor and Donna land in 1926, and crash a crash a society party at Eddison Manor attended by noted mystery writer Agatha Christie. Soon enough, someone is offing party guests in a manner reminiscent of Christie’s novels. Yes, the Doctor is involved in a Whodunit? This story immediately reminded me of “Black Orchid,” a story in which the Fifth Doctor landed in 1925 and got invited to a masquerade ball at Cranleigh Hall, where someone was murdering guests in a manner not unlike a Christie story. No doubt you all recognized the Clue references (Prof. Peach, in the library, with a lead pipe, for example.)

Comic Catherine Tate got to stretch her comedy muscles in this story, as when Donna essayed the period lingo, much to the Doctor’s horror, and he scolded her, “No, no, no, don’t do that. Don’t,” just as he did Rose in “Tooth and Claw” and Martha in “The Shakespeare Code.” Donna also tossed out plot and character ideas (“Copyright Donna Noble”) left and right, and everyone’s dialogue was full of the titles of Christie stories, such as “Appointment With Death” and “Murder on the Orient Express.” How funny was it when Donna incredulously suggested that Agatha Christie getting involved with a whodunit was about as believable as “Charles Dickens surrounded by ghosts on Christmas”? She must have missed “The Unquiet Dead.” The Doctor got in on the humor as well, describing an unseen adventure in which he tracked Charlemagne through the Ardennes after he was kidnapped by an insane computer (Check out the BBC Web site for that story.)

The Doctor’s exuberance affects everything, and he reveled in assembling the guests in the drawing room to identify the murderer. He even made being poisoned seem fun: Someone tries to off him with cyanide, but the Doctor employed a variety of household products and a kiss from Donna to purge his body of the poison. (Shades of the way he dispelled the radiation from his body back in “Smith and Jones.”) This gave the Doctor the idea to “poison” the guests’ soup with pepper — the insecticidal effects of which revealed the wasp-like Vespiform, which had taken human shape.

In identifying the Vespiform, the Doctor said there are several giant insectoid lifeforms native to other galaxies (these buggers are from the Silfrax galaxy), but would it have killed him to mention the Wirrn by name? The Wirrn were a race of giant, wasp-like insects from the Andromeda galaxy the Fourth Doctor foiled circa the 40th century or so. (He also could have mentioned the Zarbi and Menoptera, whom he met when his first incarnation visited “The Web Planet.”) And Donna referred to the Racnoss (spiders are not insects, but still…).

I liked how the Doctor was starstruck to meet Christie, just like he was when encountering Shakespeare and Dickens. Our Doctor is a reader! And he turns up a copy of a Christie novel, “Death in the Clouds,” (with a cover featuring a giant wasp) published in the year 5 billion, proving she will go on to be the most popular novelist of all time.

Well, here’s the “summer finale” of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, and it left us with a real jaw-dropping game-changer of a cliff-hanger. But we’ll get to that…

The newly revived D’Anna held President Roslin, Baltar and most of Galactica’s pilots hostage in exchange for the four Cylon “skin jobs” hiding in the fleet. Seems she needs the Final Five to locate Earth. Colonel Tigh gave in to his guilt and identified himself, Tyrol and Anders. President Adama, realizing that D’Anna would head off to Earth alone if she got the Cylons, threatened to kill them.

Before Tigh revealed his identity, he, Tyrol and Anders were drawn to Starbuck’s Viper by strange music. Then, Tigh went to Admiral Adama to confess that he is secretly a Cylon. This revelation quite simply destroys Adama’s worldview: He has known Tigh for over 30 years (and points out how he used to have hair). After ordering Tigh taken to the airlock, Adama lets loose a howl of anguish and trashes his desk, then starts drinking and literally breaks down crying as he was forced to question everything about his life. Luckily, Lee was there to support his father. Kara was similarly stunned by the arrest of her husband, but kept her pain internalized. She took Tyrol’s and Anders’ advice and investigated her Viper, which she discovered was receiving a strange signal.

Kara stopped Tigh’s execution because she was convinced the signal was related to Earth. (Had she forgotten the prophecy that she will lead mankind to its doom?) Lee identifies the signal as a Colonial Emergency Locator beacon, which no other wireless is receiving, so Kara argues it’s coming from Earth. Lee shares the info with the Cylons, and they ultimately agree to go to Earth together. When they arrive, they land in a ruined city, apparently destroyed by a nuclear holocaust. (Was that supposed to be the wreckage of the Brooklyn Bridge in that final shot?) So the Earth is a radioactive husk. In the words of President Adama: “Where do we go from here?”

I would not lose heart yet, because I do not think the rag-tag fleet landed on ourEarth. Kara brought them to the wrong planet — which might be enough to doom the human race if it they didn’t have Admiral Adama and President Roslin at the helm. Speaking of which, wasn’t there a prophecy that the “dying leader” would not see the promised land? Roslin was right there in that landing party. Anyway, we will have plenty of time to discuss all these questions and more, since the final 10 episodes of the season have not yet been scheduled. Rumor has it they will not be seen before January — that’s right, 2009. At least we should have CAPRICA to keep us warm this fall/winter…

USA Network has a new drama on Sunday nights called IN PLAIN SIGHT, which centers on a U.S. Marshall who deals with people entering the Witness Protection program. Mary McCormack (THE WEST WING, ER) stars as Mary Shannon, and the series is set in Albuquerque, N.M., which are both good things. Mary tends to go undercover while taking care of her charges, which lends a charmingly retro feel to the proceedings, but so far the stories seem to hinge on witnesses who refuse to maintain the required low profile, and Mary has to protect them. Of course, few people would tune in to a series about a former mobster who leads a quiet life as an accountant in a picturesque desert community, so I guess that’s to be expected.

And I expect you’ll be back for the next installment of Night Shift…

We love Catherine Tate from her funny, brave, touching performances as Donna Noble on the new Doctor Who series. She’s also got a very funny TV show of her own. Watch with caution: This video made us snort milk out of our noses.

Does This Boot Look Bovvered?

I don’t know if you ever happened to catch You’ve Been Framed when “professional-mate-of-Robbie-Williams Jonathan “Jonny” Wilkes was taking his turn at presenting it, sandwiched neatly between the services of Lisa Riley and Harry Hill. Every week, at the end of the show, for the two weeks he presented it (or something) he would say “Now remember, I don’t have a catchphrase!” - which was, well, you can kind of see what he was trying to do there, but it just didn’t work.

Which leads me nicely on to Catherine Tate. To refresh myself for this episode of 1000 People More Annoying Than, I sat through about 45 minutes of various sketches that she did during The Catherine Tate Show / Comic Relief / Children In Need. To refresh your mind, she was the star of “The Catherine Tate Show” (the clue being in the title there) which was several series of the same not funny jokes being repeated in slightly altered settings. A bit like Little Britain, but in this case, the first series wasn’t any funnier than the successive ones.

I hope you appreciate the sacrifices I make for this blog.

When I woke up at the end of them, I cracked a smile. For the first time. During the whole 45 minute period. I was awake! I was alive! It was over!

The key, in my mind, to characterising “normal” people with extreme characteristics, is to identify aspects of those people that your audience can relate to, and thread that through the sketch in order to provide a familiar feeling to provide a contradicting aspect to the more extreme behaviour. The closest I found to achieving this in all the sketches I watched was the one where her sweary Granny character ”Nan” was picked to appear on Deal or No Deal. The familiarity came from the sketch being set in the game show, and to all intents and purposes, ran exactly as the game show did.

But even that didn’t give me anything really to connect with. My grandparents, on the whole, were polite people. They dressed tidily, my nan had her hair set religiously once a week, and told my grandad off if he said he was going to the “kharzi” instead of the toilet. That said, she was more than slightly mortified to find out that the word “twat” did not mean the same as the word “twit” – having called her greengrocer friend a “silly twat”. The expression on her face when we explained this to her, was about a billion times funnier than any sketch I have seen involving Catherine Tate. But she bore no comparison to “Nan”.

When doing a little Wikipedia research, I was not THAT surprised to find that her first tv appearance was as “Son’s Girlfriend” in an appearance in that sidesplitting (or do I mean wristslashing?) sitcom, Surgical Spirit. ITV never really did master the art of the sitcom, did they… But it’s clearly an ominous sign in it’s own right. If that’s where you cut your comedy teeth, well… you might as well just give up now. Unfortunately, she didn’t.

What I didn’t know was that they (being THE POWERS THAT BE AT THE BEEBEECEE) wanted to move the Catherine Tate Show to BBC1 but she refused to move off BBC2 because she didnt want to have to worry about the ratings. Wise move.

It is only a matter of time, I suspect, until she appears once again upon our screens.

But.

I’m not bovvered, my face is not bovvered, and my late lamented grandmother, who incidentally would have been 90 years old today, had she not died when she was 70, is probably the least bovvered of us all.

God Save The Queen (From any more Royal Variety Performances involving Catherine Tate). Amen. How VERY dare I.

Hello. How are you? I am very well thank you. My day has been very productive, and by this i mean i have done sweet fuck all. Really, it comes to something when you spend your days looking forward to the night’s episode of Big Brother. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE IT! I really do, it makes me happy inside. I just don’t really seem to understand it. There’s the one that looks like a prepubescent Will Mellor, or the one that everyone has fallen in love with (both guys and girls, like seriously in love) who isn’t even that hot, or the wolverine man, or the… well i could go on, but i will spare you that.

I used to like Rodrigo but all he does is sit and look pretty, oh ever so pretty. Now i cannot decided between Angel (who i feel a little sorry for, thinking Norine wants her like she wants Norine) or Siavash, because, well, look at him. Either way if Marcus and Sree don’t go soon, there WILL be hell to pay. OK, so I’m not going to do anything at all but i draw the line at watching perverts circle Norine all day everyday, whilst systematically dribbling on her tits. No, thank you.

If it carry’s on i shall be watching “Dawn French’s Girls Who Do Comedy” instead. Sarah Silverman, Catherine Tate, Jennifer Saunders, Meera “hottie” Syal. What more could you ask for?!

I like to think i could be a stand up comic, and Tor tells me i could be. This is, however, usually after 15 joints in three hours, 22 shots of sherry and a bag of “shrooms”. But alas, i believe her, because otherwise I’ll cry when i realise my life is going nowhere but to a disastrous bitter end. Fuck.

FACT #1: I’m no fan of Take That.
FACT #2: I’m going to a Take That concert tomorrow. Hell yeah.

You see, the beautiful people that are Tash and Dave (Tor’s friend from home and her boyfriend) had two spare tickets to see them in my city tomorrow and they gave them Tor so she and i could go so we get to see each other for the night.
HOW FUCKING NICE IS THAT!?
I think that is so amazingly nice of them both, that i might rape them with praise when i see them tomorrow. Not physically of course. For one thing praise is not a physical thing and it would just end up with me and my hand… and well, yes.

I’m going to Tor’s for a while next Wednesday too, can’t wait.

I think at this point i should just mention that i met Tor at university, that’s why we live so far apart during summer. During term time we live together. I didn’t meet her on the Internet or anything seedy like that. I can’t stand people that do that. Phew! Glad that’s all cleared up… kinda like Tor’s warts. BA-BOOM! Ha! nahhh joke.
