The Caulfield Cup is yet another legendary Australian thoroughbred horse race. It is not as renowned as the Melbourne Cup, but the race is one of the richest horse races worldwide. The winner of this horse race has at times went forward to be the Melbourne Cup Winner. The 1st thoroughbred horse to win was back in 1879. The name of the horse was Newminster.

In 2009 the thoroughbred race horse that won the Caulfield Cup was called Viewed. This wonderful race horse was taught by one of the world’s most well-known trainer. The trainer is none other than Bart Cummings. Bart has won an exceptional seven Caulfield Cup Winners which is the present record. He has a shocking twelve Melbourne Cup Winners that is one of the toughest thoroughbred horse races to be the winner of in the world. He holds both the most Melbourne and Caulfield Cup winners by any trainer. He may perhaps go on to be the winner of more this year in the 150th Melbourne Cup and the Caulfield Cup races.

It is the 150th Melbourne Cup in 2010 which makes it all the more amazing. The race that stops a nation that started back in 1861 has just achieved 150 years.

11 thoroughbred horses have done the Cups Double where by they win the Caulfield Cup and then go on to win the Melbourne Cup. This is a huge effort and race horses that achieve the double are part of a select few. It is a very different race because the length of the race isn’t as long and jockeys typically have a much different race strategy. The Caulfield Cup is regularly misspelt as Caufield Cup. People regularly leave out the letter L.

Being the Caulfield Cup Winner is an exceptionally difficult accomplishment to achieve. Only the top horses may be eligible for the major horse race and a lot of money is at stake. Horses have to be at or more than 3 years old. Definitely, comming first in the remarkable cup race brings in lots of money.

The Caulfield Cup race is part of the Spring Racing Carnival and is recognised as one of the very best horse races. The horse race leads up to the amazing Melbourne Cup cup race and the race horse that places first the Caulfield Cup can be placed into the Melbourne Cup.

Punters around the whole wide world should be putting a bet on the Caulfield Cup Winner. Choosing the winner from a large field of race horses is not an easy task. Good luck this year.
