DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Self-Awareness – Day 6 “Know Your Gifts”

Meditative Thought: All gifts and talents come from God. Long before we got here we decided what talents we would activate on this planet. Our true talents only come from divine qualities. I have learned to see beyond someone’s apparent talents and to align them with divine qualities. If you are great with money, you have tapped into your abundance consciousness. An expression of music, writing, or acting is the ability to catch the creative thoughts from God. Hospitality is a gift of compassion. Look beyond the external talent and see the divine quality that anchors the gift.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, know your gift. Do something that expresses who you are. Take the time to share your talent and then journal about your experience.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, all my gifts and talents are an opportunity to share God. My life is an unending ”Yes” to the spirit of God. I bless the planet with my willingness to express my talents. And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Self-Awareness – Day 5 “”Filling the Hole”

Meditative Thought: What do you do to make yourself feel better? What do you do to fill up that hole? The feeling of not being good enough, or not having the right house, or not wearing the right clothes, or not having the right mate, is lack and limitation consciousness. We try to fill up the hole with things, we use drugs, shopping, and sex to make ourselves feel something, or not to feel something at all. In my experience, it is about awareness. When we focus on our oneness with God, we will know that we are everything we need. We must fill up that hole with God, and spiritual consciousness. Then there will come a deeper awakening; there were never any holes in the first place. We are absolutely perfect in the mind of God.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, contemplate yourself as a whole and complete individual; nothing is missing. Create your mantra that anchors this way of being. Create an affirmation that speaks the truth of your life. It could use words like, “I am whole and complete in God,” or “There is nothing missing in my life.”

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am rich and vital and alive with the power of God! I choose to tap into the divine source that shifts this planet. And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Self-Awareness – Day 4 “What Others Think”

Meditative Thought: Because we are one in God we have access to the greatest power ever known. But what we tend to do is to rely on others and their opinions to influence our lives. We have given our power away. Positive or negative, what others think of us does not matter because it is never about you. Others opinion is based on how they are feeling at any certain time. One minute you could be liked and the next you could be dislike based on the emotions the other is having. We must give up the need to identify with external judgment and focus on awakening the internal power within us. It is time to take our power back. What others think about us is not our business. What matters is that we are one with the only power that can truly authorize our lives.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, try not to worry about what others think about you. When you begin to spiral lout of control, your response can be, “What you think bout me is none of my business.”

Affirmation: Just for this moment… just for this breath, I am one in God; therefore I am complete and whole.

Meditative Thought: Take a moment and contemplate who you are. You are the creation of God, a complete and perfect expression of the Universe. God created you perfectly, with nothing to add. There is nothing you do not already possess that will allow you to live a full life. You were given everything necessary before coming into this existence. You brought everything with you to fulfill your destiny; that is how God planned it. Yes, there are times when our life looks less than perfect. Perfection is who we are, not what we do. You are whole and complete and there is nothing to add to your perfection

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, take the time to contemplate your connection to God. Go into meditation to cultivate your unity with your higher self. Take the time to journal about your findings.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I activate the energy of wholeness and perfection that is my life. The utmost appreciation for who I am expands my consciousness. My life is full with Joy, Peace, and Love. Amen

Meditative Thought: Do you live in the past or hold onto past regrets? If so, it is time to release your history and embrace the mystery of life. What awaits you is magnificence! The past is gone. It is time to embrace the unknown of God. The Universe is unfolding upon your life; just say yes. God has so much it wants to give us, if we can release our story. We dwell on our past mistakes or our glory days glory days, replaying them over and over like an old movie. God is waiting for us to step into the unknown. Embrace the infinite possibility of your life. Release your history and embrace the mystery of God.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, journal about what you are holding on to that no longer serves you. Put pen to paper; see it in front of you. Now write about what it would feel like to be free from it. What would your life look like without these chains that holds you back? Now tap into the feeling tone of freedom, and journal about what freedom feels like to you.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I embrace the mystery of God. I allow my past to fall away as the present reveals my divine path. A wave of God energy falls upon my life and I am blessed. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: What is your spiritual practice? Is it meditation, prayer, study, Yoga, or service? What helps you to grow? This is a rich and deep question to ponder. But a more important question should be, why do we practice? We do the work to wake up, and to stay awake. Our life comes from our spiritual practice. Everything that we do comes from God. When we choose to return to Source during the time of the practice, our life becomes bigger than we could ever imagine. It doesn’t matter what the practice is; all roads lead to the same place.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, find your spiritual practice. Take the time to explore the avenues and the options of spiritual work/play that will bring you closer to the realization that you and the God are one. Your choices are meditation, sacred study, prayer, service, and/or generosity. You are not limited to just one, but you must get moving; do something that will anchor your soul and return your awareness to the sacred place of your soul.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I return to source and live the greatest life possible. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: Life is eternal. Have you ever sat and pondered this statement? We will never die. Our spirits will live forever. Our bodies are just a shell. Once we release the body temple, our spirits will continue to live. Today, take the time to meditate on eternity. Life is eternal. Our spirits are forever. Our divine energy has never been born, or can never die. We are created from a source that has always been in existence. Before there was a time, we existed as pure light and love. Close your eyes, take a breath, and feel the vibration of eternity. Our spirit can never die; therefore every moment is new.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, journal about your eternity. Allow whatever comes up be a catalyst and an anchor for spiritual growth. Take the time to meditate on what it means to you, and allow your insight to expand your consciousness.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am one with Everlasting Life. My Universal Essence can never be harmed, broken, or changed. I am filled with The Light that can never die. The Spirit of Eternity is who I am. My life is forever. And so it shall be. Amen

Meditative Thought: Sometimes we ask ourselves, “Why is this person in my life?” Everyone and everything comes into our lives for a reason or a season. How long the season, we never know, but the reason is always the same. Everything has a purpose for waking us up. Every relationship is a mirror of ourselves to help us grow, and expand. Once we are clear, we generate newness in our relationships. Bless your mirrors and celebrate these opportunities to become more knowledgeable about yourself. During this springtime, see all your relationships as a blessing for the unfoldment of grace. All our relationships can be new in some way or another if we see them as the truly are: tools for growth.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, bless all your relationships, past, present, and future. Consciously recognize each and everyone as a tool for your spiritual growth. Say a prayer for your relations, and know that you are a blessing to them as well.

Meditative Thought: Life is about “being about something.” What are you about? What do you stand for? Life is about choices. We have the opportunity to shift this planet but we must be will to stand up for and take responsibility for transformation. Choose what it is you want your life to stand for. We are here to make a difference and to share our talents. When we stand for the Unfoldment of the Omni Presence of Love, we begin to participate in our life vision. What truly matters are the God qualities seeking to be activated. Choose the qualities you want to stand for. Say out loud, “I stand for ______,” and fill in the blank with Love, Joy, Peace, Compassion, Grace, and/or Unity, and make life choices that will help you to achieve your intentions.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today is the day you decide what you stand for. Make a list in your journal and make it simple: I stand for________. Declare what it is you want your life to be about. Make post-it notes every day to remind you of your declarations and place them everywhere.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I stand in a field of Love. Today, I stand in a field of Joy. Today, I stand in a field of Compassion. Today, I stand in a field of Oneness. DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Celebrating New Beginnings – Day 27 “A New Freedom”

Meditative Thought: “I release, and I let go, I let the spirit run my life,” is a lyric from one of my favorite Rickie Byars and Rev Michael Beckwith songs, I Release and I Let Go. The lyrics reminds me that I need to free myself on a daily basis, sometimes even moment-to-moment, breath-to-breath. It also reminds me that we are here for God, to be God as us. When we surrender and allow the Universe to unfold in our lives, as our lives, miracles happen. Releasing our attachment to anything but God is breaking the chains of slavery. Ask yourself, “Am I free from things that keep me in bondage, things that do not serve me any longer?” Do sex, food, drugs, alcohol, relationships, and other external vices control you? Are you free from self-sabotage, self-loathing, self-hatred? The truth is, the Spirit can never be enslaved, hurt, damaged, or changed. The essence of God, which lives within us, is the power that frees us. Today, go within and celebrate the freedom of your Spirit. Know that you are always free in your consciousness. Freedom is a state of mind. Active your new freedom from people, places, and things and know that the only union that is required is your union with your higher self.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, actively release and turn everything over to God. When you find yourself wanting to control a situation, consciously give it to your higher self.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release everything that blocks me from loving myself. I am worthy of true love, because love is what I am. I am a strong pillar of Joy, rooted in a foundation of Grace. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: Why do we worry about the future? Why do we worry about having enough tomorrow? If we can remember that the Universe is our source in this moment, we begin to activate true power. God only works in the now; the universe is the present. We only have this breath that we are breathing right now. We cannot operate in the future or the past. We do not have moments outside of the now. The power is in the present. That’s why they call life a “gift.” Experience life right now. Do not wait; tomorrow never comes and yesterday is always gone.

Your Spiritual Assignment: What would it feel like not to worry about tomorrow? Today, focus on the now and recognize that God has your back no matter what. When you begin to worry, release and let go, realize it is the future you are living in. Stay in the today. Allow God to do its work.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release my past and I live in the “Power of Now.” I activate the God energy within my soul, expanding to a new awareness of myself. I commune and empower myself with the infinite power of the Universe. I break free from my shackles, and I fly to new heights. And so it is.

Meditative Thought: When life seems to give us hiccups and U-turns, we blame our circumstances, placing us into a victim mode. We even blame ourselves for allowing the situation to take place. We can be our greatest critics during our most crucial periods. During these challenging times, learn to love yourself deeply. These moments of what appears to be a test from the universe, is only a time of faith building. These are the times God invites us to turn inward and allow God to do its thing. These are the times we must be extra kind to ourselves. We must love ourselves through the hard times. During your dark night. I invite you to fall in love with yourself again. Date yourself again. Treat yourself like a new love interest filled with passion and desire. Love is the only thing that shifts your vibration.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, fall in love with yourself. Embrace your hiccups; they are designed to help you on your journey. Try not to judge yourself; you are divine no matter what you are going through.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I allow my many gifts and talents to flow through me. I bless this Universe with God energy and Love. I am a spiritual “Superhero,” with Angelic Powers, that shifts the consciousness of the planet. In all things I am grateful! And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Celebrating New Beginnings – Day 24 “Healing to Revelation”

Meditative Thought: Sometimes through sickness, heartache, and pain, true transformation happens. In my experience, some of my greatest revelations have appeared to me when I was experiencing some type of ‘dis-ease.’ The times I laid in bed, body feeling weak, with a slight fever, I could have asked, “God why me?” But I have learned to ask, “What is it you want me to learn from this experience?” From that point, other questions can be asked, “What’s to be revealed during this time?” What am I willing to release during this experience? As Earnest Holmes has written, “There is nothing to heal, only to reveal.” Our approach to our challenges is key; if we are willing and open to new Ah-Hah moments to take place, they will. My mother always says, “What doesn’t kill us make us stronger.” That is only true if we invite revelations through our healing. And then we can truly know the meaning of “nothing to heal only to insight to be revealed.”

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, ask God the simple question, “What am I to learn from this situation?”

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am one with the Cosmos; therefore my life is full of Abundance and Joy. I am one with the Universe; therefore my life is Whole and Complete. I am one with God; therefore my life is full of Divine Love and Compassion. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: One of the definitions of humility is to be teachable. When we remain humble, the Universe will teach us everything we need to know. In every situation we can expand our consciousness and awaken divine knowledge that is within us. As a spiritual counselor, it is fulfilling to help someone activate personal growth. But the truth is we all have our own guides within ourselves. Your greatest teacher is you. When we do the spiritual work of meditation, prayer, study, fellowship, and service, we strengthen our relationship with God, which opens our teachable space. The knowledge of the Universe is within; it just needs to be cultivated. Any decision or question that needs an answer has a direct connection to your personal guide. It’s like having your own “Bat Phone.” Have faith in your own revelations. Trust that the Universe within you speaks words of guidance and love. Stay open and set the intention to learn something new everyday.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, stay open to the possibility that there is so much more to learn. In you morning meditation, create a space of learning for the day. Declare that you are open and ready for insights.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, Spirit guides me, and I walk with the Love of God. I live in a Universe that only works for my good. There are only open doors, and I am saying “YES” to my success. And so it is. And so it shall be. Amen

Meditative Thought: Sometimes we just need to push restart. Some days are so challenging and it feels like a downward spiral. These are the times we get to do what I call a “spiritual do-over.” We can always push the restart button and begin again. When we are faced with difficulty, we can go to the secret place within our hearts and simply breathe. By stopping and taking a moment to be still, we will find the peace that seems to elude us. Our restart always begins by turning to God. By pushing the restart button we will know inner peace and serenity and our day will be brand new.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, take the time to push restart. Even if things are going well, turn inward and connect with Source. Make it a daily practice. It could be once, twice, or even three times a day.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, God is everywhere present, active in all things, and is all-knowing. I stand in gratitude and I am blessed. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: If we believe that God is everywhere active, then God is present and active within ourselves. So many times we forget that simple sacred principle. The Omni presence of the Universe means that there is nowhere that God is not. When we become aware of this truth, we begin to see with our third eye, our spiritual eye, and we move with a new focus. Remembering that God is always active changes our language. We will change how we talk to others and to ourselves. A question that keeps us aligned and awake is, “Would I talk about God that way?” When we are in conversation with someone or even talking to ourselves, check in with the language and how we choose to communicate. Remember that God is always listening.
Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, be aware of how you speak to yourself and others. Use only language that is filled with love and light, then journal about your experience. Take note of what comes up for you. Do not judge the process; just be in it.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am a child of God and am willing to unleash my God energy everywhere I go. I activate God qualities with my spirit, and I allow them to flow freely. The vibration of the Infinite feels my heart. I am God’s beloved, and God is pleased. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: We must be willing to catch the vision for our life. When you conceive what we know as your divine calling, this vision will pull you to a higher level of existence. It will be the thing that takes hold of you and doesn’t let go. A vision inspires you to reach higher and to be more. When searching for this higher meaning to our life, we must be willing to go within. We must spend time with the source from which this vision is created. Allow your vision to elevate your existence.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, journal about your vision. If you don’t know what it is, go into meditation and allow God to reveal what your vision is. Spend time within contemplation and allow the vision to take hold of your soul until it is pulling you to a new level of existence.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am one with the essence of the Universe. I revel in the Spirit of Creation. My life is God unfolding, day-by-day, minute-by-minute, and moment-by-moment. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams. And so I let it be. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Celebrating New Beginnings – Day 19 “The Rainbow”

Meditative Thought: Have you ever seen a rainbow? I mean “really” seen a rainbow? A rainbow is a spectrum of light. Within the spectrum, there is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet that shine through droplets of mist or rain. The last time I experienced a rainbow, it reminded me that God shines through all of us. We are the droplets of water, and when we shine God’s light, a magnificent rainbow appears. Our life is meant to be experienced with ease and grace, filled with God’s power. Things become easier when we let go and allow the Universe to work its magic. Allow God, to be God, in your life.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, find a picture of a rainbow, or, if you are blessed enough to encounter a real one, examine it and contemplate what it means to you. Journal your process.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am Love and worthy to be loved by me. I embrace the Divine Love of God and I set free the Love energy that is within me. I generate the healing power of Love as my worries and cares dissolve away. I am truly blessed. And so it is. Amen

Meditative Thought: The word intention means to grow; it means to be more. Every day we need to set new intentions for the unfoldment of God upon our lives. It is these intentions that will fuel our transformation. Every day is a new day filled with infinity opportunities for greatness. We must be willing to step out of our boxes to do more, be more, and express more. Every breath is a sacred moment; set the intention to connect with God and become the vision that is your life. Take time to be still and hear direction from the Universe. Remember to keep the faith. All things are possible, if you only believe in your desire to be more. Believing is the knowing that your life is unfolding perfectly, and that you are here for a reason.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, make a list of all your intentions for the rest of the year. Name them and then claim them as being done.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is the overflowing goodness of God. I am the representation of Love, Joy, Peace, and Prosperity. The blessings of the Universe are expressed and activated within my awareness, expanding and emerging from glory to greater glory. And so I let it be. Amen

Meditative Thought: Our gifts and talents are not for us to keep. They were meant for us to share and to inspire the collective. Everyone has talents and gifts to share for the edification of others. We are the instruments for God to be expressed. When we decide to share our talent, we activate a new energy within our lives. We live a life of meaning. Our gifts and talents are an expression of the Most High. Our talents not only come through us, they belong to the Universe. Your life’s purpose is to share your gifts with this planet. Put a new pep in your step and go out and inspire the world.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, list all your talents and gifts and decide how you will share them. Create your action plan. Begin with a simple statement: “My gifts are _____ and I plan to share them by_______.”

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the global shift that is happening on this planet. I am the light that rocks this dimension. Only I can fulfill my Divine destiny. My life is the life of God, therefore I have unlimited power. And so it is!

Meditative Thought: Who, or what, guides your life? Who do you listen to? CNN, the news, our family and friends? Are you stuck in the lies and the untruths that the world places upon you? Is your journey directed by what someone else thinks? We are connected to a God energy that will guide you every step of your journey. This energy will tell you when you are on the right track, or maybe that you need to shift. The world will tell you the sky is falling; God will tell you the sky is the limit. Yes, there are ups and downs on this road that is life, but you don’t have to remain on the path that is not yours. You can listen to the still voice within; it will tell you everything you need to know.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, step into your new perspective on your life. Don’t just settle for what everyone tells you is right; find out what is right for you. Meditate and ask the question, “Is this right for me?” You get to choose your new perspective.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I laugh, play, and pray within the Universe. The cosmos is my playground, and I rejoice and dance. My vibration is the blessing for this planet. I am an instrument of “shifting” everywhere I go. And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Celebrating New Beginnings – Day 15 “New Awareness of Unconditional Love”

Meditative Thought: Do you find it hard to love unconditionally? What does that mean? Unconditional love is love without conditions, loving no matter what. It is a challenge I struggle with everyday. When I drive in Los Angeles traffic, unconditional love is the last thing within my consciousness. But I am aware that I need work. It is a practice, not perfection. I do not beat myself up when I find myself annoyed and irritated. I have the tools to shift. Prayer, meditation, and a desire to be better are the tools for shifting.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, whenever you find yourself irritated, use prayer and meditation to re-center yourself.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am an instrument of Unconditional Love; a healing tool for the planet. I release the judgments against myself and everyone else. Today, I choose Love; today, I choose compassion. Joy and Gratitude begins with me, and spreads abroad. And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Celebrating New Beginnings – Day 14 “I Am What I AM”

Meditative Thought: “I am what I am,” says Popeye the Sailor Man, and he says it without apologies. Wake up to whom you are and embrace the journey you all have said yes to. Every situation is an opportunity to know our divine destiny. When we begin to see our self the way the universe sees us, we begin to understand the scripture, “You are my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22

God is saying, “You are my beloved” to us all the time, but we don’t always hear. Because we choose to focus on our downfalls instead of the divine qualities that we are, we are left feeling a sense of lack and limitation. The Universe only sees what is pure within us. God only recognizes Compassion, Joy, Love, Oneness, Peace, Abundance, and Grace. We are God’s children, with God qualities, and when we participate and share these qualities, we live the life that we were meant to live.
Everything we do helps us to understand our true selves. What are we? We are the expression of God, longing to express more of itself. We are what we are. Like Popeye, make no apology.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, bless what you are. Embrace yourself and know that God makes no junk. You are the I am of the I AM. Take the time to be grateful for who and what you are.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, divine Love dwells within me. Grace and Power is who I am. I am one with the Infinite. Gratitude is my life.

Meditative Thought: The “Power of Now” is being present in this moment, rather than worrying about the moment that has just passed, or the moment that has yet to come. Every Day is filled with new moments; every breath is a new breath, and that is all we have. We do not have the past…it has gone. We do not have the future…it never comes. We only have the present, so celebrate your “Now Moment;” live it to the fullest. We get to play in a New Day, every day.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today and every day, when you awaken, say an affirmation that will anchor your soul in the Now. Align your self with the present and set the intention to stay awake.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, Life is good and full of infinite possibilities! Life is good and full of infinite Joy! Life is good and full of infinite Love! Life is good, good, good, good, good in this now moment.

Meditative Thought: The term “Born Again” has so many meanings. When we hear “Born Again,” what we typically think of is Christian salvation. But it can simply mean a re-birthing of the truth within your self. While we are here on this planet, there is a call to awakening our consciousness to the realization that we are one in God. Once we know this, we are reborn to a new way of living. After our resurrection from the walking dead, a genesis of infinite possibilities becomes our life and we are truly new.

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, examine what ”born again” means to you. There is no wrong or right. Examine, contemplate, cultivate, and journal about what comes up.

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I hold counsel with God, my spiritual life coach. I stand tall with the support of the Universe. Everything that I need to know is revealed through Love and Spirit. I awaken the truth within me and I am born again. I am one with Divine Intelligence, and I am blessed. And so it is. And so I let it be. Amen
