Chosen As Honorary Ambassadors.

On May 3rd, the members of JYJ were chosen as the honorary ambassadors for the international promotion of Jeju Island.

The island was recently nominated to be voted as one of the seven wonders of the world by New Seven Wonders. On behalf of the island, JYJ will be actively promoting internationally to raise awareness. The members were revealed to have been chosen for their influence and ability to attract and raise foreign votes for the island.

Depending on their world tour schedule, the boys will be attending an official appointment ceremony sometime soon.

Jeju Island has passed three rounds of preliminary judging since 2007, and has been named one of the 28 final nominations. Swiss’s N7W Foundation will be taking in text, phone, and internet votes until November 10th. Final results will be released on the 11th.

SNSD Goes Double Platinum.

The girls of SNSD are enjoying quite a bit of success in Japan. Today, the girls added another accomplishment to their belt as the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) website updated their charts showing that SNSD’s Chaku Uta Full (ringtones) downloads for ‘Gee’ went Double Platinum.

The RIAJ certifies Platinum as moving 250,000 units so Double Platinum would mean that the girls had over 500,000 downloads for ‘Gee’!

Congratulations to the girls as we patiently wait for their next Japanese release on April 27th with ‘MR. TAXI.’

JYJ are Honorary Ambassors.

On April 18th, the members of JYJ were appointed as the honorary ambassadors for “World OKTA“. In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the trio made an appearance at the ceremonial event which was held at the Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel. 

The boys were appointed as honorary ambassadors before a crowd of 1,000, including President Lee Myung Bak, before going on to put on a congratulatory performance.

A representative of World OKTA stated, “JYJ, who are global leaders of culture and the Hallyu wave, fit best with World OKTA, who also aims to open a Hallyu generation of economy all over the world.”

JYJ commented, “We’re glad to be chosen as honorary ambassadors for an organization that raises awareness for Korea and contributes to the economies of both Korea and the world.  With World OKTA, JYJ hopes to spread awareness of Korean culture and aid in the effort of advancing globally.”

Rain Takes the Top Spot.

Rain has won TIME’s 100 poll once again. If you can recall, back in 2006 and 2007 he also topped the poll and he was runner up in 2008. After a few years away from the top of the list, his devoted fans have once again vaunted him to the top. It seem’s TIME wasn’t surprised with the outcome stating,

“Korean pop star Rain has won the top spot in the TIME 100 poll, in which we asked readers to rank who they think are the world’s most influential people. By the time the poll closed Thursday night, he had garnered 406,252 “influential” votes and 33,813 “not influential” votes. This is certainly not the first time Rain has taken the top spot; he won in 2006 and 2007, and placed in second in 2008. Coming in a distant second this year was Jay Chou, Taiwanese star of The Green Hornet, getting 207,239 “influential” votes. Rounding out the top three was Britain’s Got Talent phenomenon Susan Boyle with 151,324 “influential” votes. The top-ranking American on the list was Beyoncé, coming in fifth.

Getting Married in May.

We previously reported that former KARA member, Kim Sung Hee (21), will be getting married in May to Yang Won Joon (31), the eldest son of voice actor Yang Ji Woon. As her wedding date is quickly approaching, some photos of the beautiful ex KARA member in a wedding dress was uploaded on a popular KARA internet community board.

The two have been dating for about a year, and they plan to tie the knot on May 7th at a small wedding hall in Gyeonggi-do, Paju.

The two first met approximately 2 years ago through their religious community, and grew close while attending various musical activities around the world. It’s been confirmed that the parents of the lovers met a year into their relationship, and agreed to set a wedding date.

Kim Sung Hee shocked the music industry back in 2008 when she announced that she was going to officially withdraw from the group. There were various rumors floating around as to why she decided to quit, but the most prominent was how her idol group activities were ‘interfering with her religious life.’ Currently, she works as a vocal instructor for aspiring singers.

KARA Sets Another Recordfor Japan.

Since their debut in Japan last August, KARA’s latest single “Jet Coaster Love” has proven to be the most popular as the single has given them their best sales, selling 123,000 copies in it’s first week. The high sales volume has also put KARA at the number one spot on Oricon’s 4/18 Weekly Single Ranking.

This is the first time a foreign female group has had a number one ranking in it’s first week of release since the creation of the Oricon Single Ranking back in January 1968, so it has been 43 years and 4 months!

“Jet Coaster Love” has sold twice the amount of their previous single “Jumping”, which was released during their break-up crisis turmoil last November, selling 55,000 copies in its first week.

KARA was selected as the number one newcomer this year and “Jet Coaster Love” is their first number one in both the weekly single and album rankings. Their first single “Mister” and second single “Jumping” both ranked at #5, while their albums “KARA BEST 2007-2010” and “Girl’s Talk” both ranked #2.

The last time a foreign female artist has placed #1 on the weekly singles ranking was 6 years ago when BoA’s “DO THE MOTION” reached #1 on the 4/11 2005 ranking. The last time a foreign female group placed number one, was The Nolans’s “Dancing Sister” single on the 11/17 1980 weekly ranking, which became number one in its 16th week; it’s been 30 years and 5 months.

KARA also left a comment, “Thanks to all of you, “Jet Coaster Love” has become #1. As KARA, we will continue to do our best to cheer everyone up in the future. And, we hope that everything can be restored even just one day sooner”.

“Jet Coaster Love” is KARA’s first single of 2011. It was originally supposed to be released on March 23rd, but was postponed due to the Great Tohoku Earthquake. In order to help out the area affected by the disaster, KARA has decided to donate all proceeds from this single (CD and digitally) to relief efforts.

Suju &Hangeng Bring Home Awards.

The first-ever Global Chinese Golden Chart Awards, organized by Taiwan’s Hit Radio, was held last night at Taipei Arena, where a list of stars attended and were awarded awards.

Super Junior-M, who is currently in Taipei, couldn’t turn up for the ceremony, but they were still awarded the Most Popular Group award, and they appeared via a video recording to thank their fans for the support. In addition, their parent group, Super Junior, also scooped home the Best Selling J-pop/K-pop Album of the Year for BONAMANA.

10Yr Anniversary Documentary

Harisu, Korea’s most famous transgender celebrity, will be the subject of a special 10th anniversary documentary, which will air on SBS as “Harisu, 10 Years Of Her Dream“.  The documentary will follow the steps she has taken from her debut until now.

It’s been 10 years since Harisu first debuted and caused a syndrome in Korea.  In 2001, the rookie actress made her debut in a cosmetics ad.  The ad is short – the camera is focused on a beautiful woman, and as it pans up her face, she swallows, revealing an Adam’s apple (the point of the ad was that the makeup being advertised was so amazing that it could make men look like women).  So when Harisu herself revealed that she was transgender and born male, the general public was taken aback.

In 2007, she married her agent, Mickey Jung, and in 2008, she released her last album to date.  Since then, what has she been up to for the past three years?

The producers said, “I met her at a Gangnam club.  At the time, she was dancing with 20 other dancers.”  Harisu opened a transgender club two years ago and has been supporting her hoobaes (juniors), becoming a role model for them.  As one of her hoobaes, Yeseul, put it, “I’m very thankful [for her].  I have hard time and no one knows better than she does about the struggles we go through, and the fact that she always listens and is supportive in anything I do, she takes care of me, I’m very thankful for that.”

Now Harisu is taking the next step and opening a transgender theater.

Releases Debut Single.

Superstar K2 contestant Kim Ji Soo was recently announced to be an official ambassador for an upcoming marathon focused on disabled athletes, and the singer also unleashed his debut digital single, titled ‘Chocolate Drive‘!

According to Kim Ji Soo’s agency on April 8th, “Kim Ji Soo will attend the marathon on April 9th to proceed with his ambassador duties, and will engage in a meet & greet with fans, as well as sign autographs.”

The singer himself expressed, “To be able to help those disabled is truly a delight to me. Hopefully people in the world actively communicate with each other in order to keep the peace, and keep the aid going for those less fortunate.”

Meanwhile, Kim Ji Soo also released his debut single, ‘Chocolate Drive’. The soothing and addictive song is sure to calm some of your nerves, so don’t miss out!

Honored by the Korean National Red Cross.

On April 5th, SM Entertainment signed a social contribution agreement with the Korean National Red Cross at the SM Entertainment building.

SM was honored for their contributions to the cause, as the agreement aims to expand humanitarian movement as well as establish a culture of volunteer and charity work.

SM also took the agreement as an opportunity to establish a Red Cross Youth organization for their company trainees in order to ensure that they’ll become leaders of humanitarian effort and volunteer work alongside SM employees.

Present at the event was CEO Kim Young Min, Yoo Jong Ha, president of the KNRC, Super Junior’s Yesung, SNSD’s Seohyun, SHINee’s Taemin, and f(x)’s Victoria.

Honorary Ambassadors.

On April 4th, the members of miss A visited the Gwacheon Government Complex in order to be formally appointed as the honorary ambassadors for Korea’s 4th “Together Day“.

Minister Lee Kwi Nam commented, “We hope that with this appointment, there will be more efforts in connecting and communicating with foreigners.”

“Together Day” was created to build a stronger foundation of respect and friendship between Koreans and foreigners living in one area. This holiday is observed annually, and several events have been planned for a week of celebrations, starting on May 20th.

They continued, “We have chosen the multicultural girl group, miss A, to aid us in expanding ‘Together Day’ both in Korea and overseas.”

SE7EN + Big Bang Win Awards.

On April 2nd, Se7en attended the “2011 Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA)” and came home with honorable awards for both him and labelmate Big Bang. Held by the Singapore Press Holdings Ltd., the ceremony is thrown in support of the Chinese entertainment industry and awards those that excel in the music, movie, TV, radio, and concert area.

YG Entertainment revealed that Se7en took home the ‘Best Asian Performance’ award while Big Bang won the ‘Most Popular Korean Artiste’ award, chosen through popularity votes and by industry experts.

Se7en tweeted in the aftermath, “Wow!!! I won Best Asian Performance!!! At Singapore E Awards!!! Thank u all~~ love yall~ Holla~”

Unforutunately for Big Bang, they were unable to attend due to a pre-scheduled activity.

Representatives of YG Entertainment stated, “Despite both Se7en and Big Bang being only at the beginning of their Chinese market advancements, this record is impressive to us. We’re looking forward to their promotions in the Chinese market.”

KARA Sells 1,00o,ooo Copies.

KARA has recorded over 1 million copies in album sales, after only eight months in the Japanese music industry! According to information revealed by Universal Music Japan on March 31st, KARA’s five albums – “Mister“, “Jumping“, “Girl’s Talk“, “Best Clips“, “KARA Best 2007-2010” – have sold a total of 1,080,000 copies in all.

“Girl’s Talk,” which was released last November, sold 430k copies so far and even ranked at the top of Oricon’s music chart for nine consecutive weeks after its release. “KARA Best Clip” DVD (released last February) and “KARA Best 2007-2010″ (released last September) sold 200k copies respectively. Meanwhile, “KARA Best Clip” managed to rank at the top of the weekly charts for two months in a row as well. As for the girls’ singles – “Mister,” and “Jumping” – they each sold 130k and 110k.

Im Jin Mo, a pop culture critic, commented, “After BoA and TVXQ, KARA is the first to surpass 1 million copies. As rookies who debuted only eight months in Japan, this is an astounding feat. I think the fact that they’ve created a position for themselves as Korean idols in Japan’s idol culture is a bigger achievement.”

Donating on Behalf on Khuntoria.

On March 27th, fans of the Nichkhun and Victoria couple (a.k.a. “Khuntoria” couple) gave a special gift to commemorate the couple’s 300th day anniversary. According to UNICEF’s official Korean website, fans made a donation totalling 6,000,000 won (~$5,400 USD) to the organization.

They stated, “The ‘Khuntoria’ fan club of MBC’s ‘We Got Married‘ couple, Nichkhun and Victoria, gave a generous donation of 6,000,000 won on March 27th. The support from ‘Khuntoria’ will be used for the survival, protection, and development of children all over the world. Below is the official mail sent by ‘Khuntoria’. Again, we thank ‘Khuntoria’ for their heartfelt gift.”

With this message of thanks, UNICEF posted the original letter of the ‘Khuntoria’ fan club. It stated:

We, as the Nichkhun♥Victoria couple’s official Naver fan cafe [Khuntoria], would like to make a donation to UNICEF to commemorate the 300th day anniversary of the Nichkhun and Victoria couple from MBC’s “We Got Married.”

Korean Celebrities Rule the Shorties.

On March 28th, the “3rd Annual Shorty Awards“, which honors the best of Twitter and social media, announced their results for the winners and runner-ups. With Korean celebrities gaining much popularity through their Twitter accounts, it’s no surprise that many of them were nominated for the awards.

In particular, JYJ’s Jaejoong took a big win in the “Best Celebrity on Twitter” category with 5,668 votes, beating out the ever-popular Justin Bieber, who had 5,136 votes. Super Junior’s Heechul also made some noise in this category as he placed 3rd with 2,990 votes. Indeed, many Korean celebrities ranked high for this catagory, such as singer Jay Park (6th) and JYJ’s Yoochun (10th) and Junsu (11th). Super Junior’s Leeteuk (24th), Eunhyuk (39th), and Donghae (47th) also ranked in the category as well.

Korean celebrities also stood strong in the “Best Music on Twitter” category. JYJ’s Junsu came in 4th, with fellow groupmate Jaejoong following behind at 11th. Meanwhile, Jay Park was 13th, Heechul was 26th, and Yoochun was 36th.

As for the “Best Actor on Twitter“, JYJ’s Yoochun, Jaejoong, and Junsu ranked 9th, 12th, and 26th, respectively. Super Junior’s Donghae and Heechul came in 28th and 29th, while singer/actor Rain rounded out the top 50 by placing at 46th.

Though Barney Stinson was crowned the award for the “Best Entertainment on Twitter“, JYJ’s Yoochun received the most votes with 2221 votes. Other winners in the top 50 were Jaejoong (10th), Heechul (16th), Jay Park (19th), and Junsu (28th).

The same cast raked in high marks for the “Best Fashion on Twitter” category as well, with Jaejoong in 3rd, Heechul in 8th, Yoochun in 11th, Jay Park in 36th, and Junsu in 43rd.

And finally (whew, take a breath!), Jay Park was nominated for the “Connecting People Award“, which is a special award that recognizes individuals “who genuinely bringing people together through Twitter and social media.” In Jay Park’s honorable mention, the website described:

“Jay Park, also known as Park Jaebeom, is a Korean-American singer, rapper, actor, and b-boy from South Korea who lives in Seattle.

Park had a cult following as a member of the Korean band 2PM. In 2009, Park allegedly posted ‘unfavorable comments’ about South Korea on his MySpace page, although fans argue that the comments were misinterpreted. After Park was dismissed from 2PM and JYP Entertainment, his fans boycotted the band. Park became a solo artist and got involved in charity projects, including an effort to knit hats for newborns.

Currently, he is an Art of Movement dance member and has two rap singles on iTunes. His fandom is called ‘J-Effect’ and fans are ‘JWalkers.’ Park’s cover of B.o.B’s ‘Nothin’ on You’ won an award for Best 2010 Web Video at the Mashable Awards.

He uses Twitter to communicate with fans in English and Korean, and inspires fans to volunteer and donate to good causes. Park received more nominations for this award than any other finalist. One voter wrote, ‘We not only support Mr. Park but also lend out a helping hand in improving the society around each of our communities in attempts to follow in Mr. Park’s footsteps in spreading love and respect, a motto he lives by.’”

A Birthday Song for P-JM. 

Park Jung Min is releasing a new song in celebration of his birthday! The star wanted to share the special occasion with his beloved fans, and what better way to do it then by unveiling a musical treat?

The new song is called “Like Tears Are Falling“, and is scheduled for release on April 1st through a digital music channel. It’s a great prelude to his new mini-album, “THE, PARK JUNG MIN“, which will drop on the 7th. The singer has also created a 40-page photobook to be included with his new album.

A Surpise Lies in Wait,

On the March 26th broadcast of MBC’s “We Got Married“, Seohyun and Jung Yonghwa finally looked completely comfortable as a couple in their last broadcast. The two went back to the bank to withdraw all the funds in their virtual marriage account, which they created a year ago. Thus armed, they prepared to start their final date.

The couple visited the recording studio where they first met about a year ago. In celebration of their last date, the members of CNBLUE came in carrying a cake.

The CNBLUE members created a fun environment by joking around with the two, before they eventually withdrew to leave Seohyun and Yonghwa alone in the studio. Mustering her courage, Seohyun picked up a guitar and surprised Yonghwa by playing the “Banmal Song“, which was the song they wrote together for a previous mission. Originally, Seohyun could only play just one chord throughout the entire song, but this time, she played more expertly all the way through.

Afterwards Seohyun finally spoke to Yonghwa in “banmal” or informal speech, albeit a bit awkwardly and while laughing.

Jung Joonho +Lee Hajung Get Married.

Actor Jung Joon Ho and his wife Lee Ha Jung held an interview before their wedding, and revealed that they went on a pre-marriage honeymoon.  Interestingly enough, Jung Joon Ho said that they remained perfectly chaste during the trip. “We went to Macau for four nights and five days. We shared the same room, but nothing special happened.”

He explained, “As I lived on a big bed by myself for a long time, it was uncomfortable sleeping together. I let her sleep on my arm, and after just 10 minutes, my arm felt sore.”

The actor then joked, “She didn’t give consent to let me do anything more, so history will be made tonight,” which caused the reporters to crack up.

At this, Lee Ha Jung shyly replied, “Because he exercised a lot, his arm was firm.”

When discussing their plans for a family, Jung said, “Personally, I’m greedy for children so I’m thinking four, but instead of choosing when [to have them], I want to have them naturally whilst sharing love.” Lee Ha Jung mused, “I was thinking three, but I’ll follow my husband’s wishes.”

Afterwards, Jung Joon Ho shared his nervous sentiments, saying, “There wasn’t a time I was this nervous and anxious in the 40 years of my life, but I couldn’t fall asleep until 3AM yesterday. I thought it wasn’t easy to become one woman’s husband and then become a head of a household. I give thanks once more for getting married happily after meeting a good match whilst the people around me give their blessings.”

Meanwhile, the couple had dressed up in matching white outfits at the press conference, showing their anticipative feelings about their wedding. Over 100 members of the press flowed in for this press conference, which demonstrated the high attention the Korean media was paying to the marriage.

The two had met during an interview Lee Ha Jung conducted on November 30th, 2010 for her segment on MBC’s ‘6PM News Magazine’, ‘The People Lee Ha Jung Met’. Four months later, the couple wed at Seoul’s Sheraton Grand Walker Hill Hotel. After going to Hawaii for their honeymoon, they will be setting up their newlywed home at Seoul Hannam-dong.

CN Blue Reaches the Top.

CNBLUE recently released their first full-length album, “First Step“, after a long hiatus. But despite the delay, fans can’t seem to get enough of the fabulous foursome – their title track, “Intuition“, has achieved an all-kill on Korea’s major online music charts!

The boys have already reached #1 on Melon, Bugs, Dosirak, and Cyworld, and it seems that they’ll be continuing to hold that position for a little while yet, as they will only kick off their official comeback promotions through music programs from this week onwards.

The album is also flying high in offline sales as well, with over 10,000 pre-orders made for “First Step”.

Eight Long Years as SE7EN.

Singer Se7en shared his feelings about his 8th Anniversary since debut.On March 22nd, Se7en wrote on his twitter,

 “March 22, 2003. Today is the 8th Anniversary of Se7en’s debut. Even though it’s my 9th year as a singer, I still feel like I’m a rookie, and I want to thank everyone for giving me so much love throughout the years. I promise that I will make better music and show you better stages in the future. I want to thank everyone who has congratulated me. I love you all.”

Se7en continued, “A beautiful 8th Anniversary cake that fans made for me. Thank you so much! Even though I took a picture with my ps. 7 pose, because I’m getting older this seems a bit…”

Se7en debuted in 2003 with his first album “Just Listen“, and his song “Come Back To Me” caused a big rollerskate craze. His handstand dance move has also become widely known. After his American debut in 2007, Se7en recently came back to the Korean music industry after 3 years.

Big Bang Collabs With 10Corso Como.

Though they’ve just wrapped up their UNIQLO project, Big Bang has embarked on yet another fashion venture, but this time it’ll be with 10Corso Como. To celebrate their 3rd anniversary, 10Corso Como reached out to Korea’s leader in trends, and together, they created a few pieces for the special event.

The collaboration is especially exciting for the brand, as it’ll mark their first ever joint project with a celebrity.

An associate of 10Corso Como’s revealed, “Seoul is the center of Hallyu, and through this collaboration with fashion icon Big Bang, it’ll be made known that it is the Mecca of Asian fashion. The collaboration will also introduce a new fashion trend to Asia.”

Big Bang’s signature skull was used as the project’s motif, and it’s been placed on limited edition T-shirts, a baseball jacket, and a smartphone case. Working closely with their stylist, Big Bang also chose the outfits that the mannequins would wear; they reportedly demonstrated great care in small details, such as the shop display.

Big Bang will be attending the ‘10Corso Como Seoul 3rd Anniversary Celebration – Big Bang Collaboration Launching Party’ that will be held at the ‘10Corso Como’ Seoul location on March 24th. These limited items will be available for sale on that day.

They are Now Married.

Actor Lee Chunhee (32) and actress Jun Hyejin (23) didn’t look nervous as they met with reporters before their wedding ceremony. Smiling at one another, they laughed, “We’ve never felt the 9-year age difference.” Lee Chun Hee and Jun Hye Jin were wed on March 11th at 6:00 PM in the Seoul’s Grand Walkerhill Hotel. The couple met with reporters at 5:10 PM, right before the wedding, to express their feelings.

Lee started off with a bright smile, “This is the best day of my life. We will live well happily. Thank you.” With a shy smile, the bride, Jun Hye Jin, added, “Thank you. We will live well.”

Lee reminisced over meeting Jun Hye Jin for the first time. “I first met her in a drama. When I personally met up with her after the drama was over, I got to know a completely different side of her. Somehow, I think it was then I realized she was pretty. But also, she was pretty from the start.”

The couple revealed that they will be having their honeymoon in Hawaii. Showing their excitement as newlyweds, they said, “We are all ready. We are planning to leave either tomorrow or the day after.”

Lee stated talked about their their 9-year age gap, “I never felt it. You can’t feel the age difference when you see us in person, right? There is not a single moment when I thought, ‘This friend is young.’”

For the wedding, the couple got their close friend, actor Choi Bool Am, to lead the ceremony. Choi is also a castmate on the SBS drama “Smile, You“, where the couple’s destiny began. As for the nuptial song, Lee Chun Hee invited singer Yoon Jong Shin, who he became close to through SBS’s “Family Outing.” In addition, actor Gong Yoo, who has carried a strong friendship with Lee Chun Hee since his modeling days, became the MC.

Since they are a successful celebrity couple, many top celebrities attended the ceremony.

The two will be leaving for Hawaii after the wedding. The reason they chose Hawaii was Jun Hye Jin is 4 months pregnant, and they wanted to be close to Korea.

 Dal Shabet is Climbing the Ladder.

Rookie girl group Dal Shabet has been appointed as honorary ambassadors for the Korea Football Association’s elementary, junior, and high school weekend league.

The KFA had a small ceremony at the Shinmun-ro Football Hall on March 10th, where they revealed their new emblem and ambassadors. Each member received a uniform with their names on the back from Jo Joong Yeon, chairman of the KFA.

The girls will be holding a celebratory performance of the KFA’s new theme song for the opening game between Suwon High School versus Samil High School on April 2nd.

Leader Viki commented, “We, too, had to go through an arduous training process before we could realize our dreams of becoming singers.  We feel honored to be able to aid in helping others make their dreams come true.”

Soomi and Gaeko’s Marriage.

Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko, who’s currently serving in the army, has announced through a letter that he will be getting married! On March 9th, representatives of Gaeko’s agency, Amoeba Culture reported, “Gaeko has notified us that he will be getting married to his girlfriend of five years this May. His girlfriend is also currently three months pregnant.”

His fiancee is an accounting major at a school in the U.S., and was previously introduced to fans through “Dynamic Duo’s Resume“. The couple reportedly met through friends back in 2006.

Gaeko’s letter read, “Through the good offices of my unit, I will be holding a private wedding ceremony on May 14th during my break. Soomi will become a beautiful May bride.  I think we’ve grown more affectionate towards one another due to the long period we’ve been apart.  She will be coming to Korea by the end of this month, so I’m a bit worried over her health.  Please pray for her!”

The boys of Super Junior were officially appointed as 2011’s honorary ambassadors for Korean cuisine. They attended a special event at the Gwacheon Government Complex on March 3rd, through which the members revealed their very own ‘Super Junior bibimbap’ menu!

Known to be Korean cuisine fanatics, members Leeteuk, Heechul, Shindong, and Yesung personally created special menus for the event, which was comprised of ‘Teuk Fire Bibimbap (Leeteuk: bulgogi bibimbap),’ ‘Samgyupsal Is My Life (Shindong: samgyupsal bibimbap),’ ‘The Taste of My Hometown Hoengseong (Heechul: beef bibimbap),’ ‘For My Six Pack (Yesung: chicken breast bibimbap).’

Minister Yoo commented, “I’m looking forward to the way Super Junior will be using their various charms in hand with the Hallyu wave to promote Korean cuisine all over the world. Super Junior is much like bibimbap, as all different charms come together to express one amazing taste.”

Super Junior stated, “It’s an honor to be selected as honorary ambassadors for Korean cuisine. We’ll be working our hardest in promoting it while we work overseas.”
