Houston, We Have a Problem

My son Max never ever answers his cell phone when it rings (at least when I’m calling him) and never ever checks his voicemail. In fact, until he left for college in August, he hadn’t even bothered to set his voice mailbox up to receive messages.

If you want to talk with Max, you call his cell. You let it ring. He doesn’t pick up (although I have seen him look at the screen to see who’s calling). The call attempts to go to voicemail. Then the phone informs you voicemail isn’t set up. So you hang up.

In anywhere from 30 seconds to many days later, your cells phone rings.

“Yo, what’s up?” Max asks.

Cellulite is a harmless condition of the skin wherein the fat cells given up by collagen fibers form

Cellulite is a harmless condition of the skin wherein the fat cells given up by collagen fibers form pieces of “small pockets”. When these small pockets have reached their limit, they tend to protrude from beneath the surface of the skin, thereby creating the lumpy look on the skin surface. This very awkward skin condition affects around 90% of all women around the world.

Many women have been haunted by the ugly cellulites, and they think of ways on how they can hide this skin problem. If you are one of these women, then you’ve come to the right page because this article will present to you the top 3 ways to get rid of cellulite.

1.Exercise to Get Rid of Cellulite How can exercise help get rid of cellulite? It’s simple. Exercise and workouts burn away the excess fat deposited in the small fat pockets, at the same time firm and tone the damaged area due to the appearance of cellulite. However, it is important that while you are doing exercises, you have to specifically target the problem areas. This is the common mistake most people make. They tend to focus on doing cardiovascular exercises and only small amount of anaerobic workouts to tone the problem area. To yield positive results, you need to at least have 3 30 minute exercises session a week. Obviously, the more sessions you have, the faster you will see positive results.

2.Change your Diet to Get Rid of Cellulite As you know, diet has a big influence and contribution in the appearance of cellulite; thus, you have to get rid of saturated fat or bad fat from your diet. This means that you should cut down on deep-fried and take-away food. You should also not take in foods that are rich in toxins. Increase your consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables and limit your alcohol consumption.

3.Use Cellulite Cream to Get Rid of Cellulite The use of cellulite cream is also very important, in fact, it has the same level of importance as the first two steps. Cellulite creams help repair the damaged areas caused by the cellulites. Cellulite can damage and stretch your skin, as well as the cell structure and connective tissues under the skin. Thus, it becomes harder for your skin to get its natural elasticity back. Thus, without a cellulite cream, it may be next to impossible to recover from the cellulite.

Most of people like to have sun-bath. Because this makes them feel better, some glow on face but like two way of street, exposure to sun rays make wrinkles and aged skin before age. A lady which is protecting her skin from sun scream would be looked younger than exposed sun rays skin based women.

Sun exposure changes skin property, most of time we think about just aging result. But most of time exposure, suns UV rays damage to fibers in skin called elastin. When fibers breakdown, skin would lose its properties like stretchness, become sag.

More exposure to sun rays damage to your skin that would get result in terms of pre cancerous and cancerous, benign tumors, fine and coarse wrinkles, sallowness, elastics, freckles and pigmentation. But some of them are easy to care and prevent at defined stages. One of terrible condition is about cancer, called skin cancer. With rapid cells growth of abnormal cells get result in tumors which are either benign or malignant.

Concentrating on types of skin cancer, there are three types of cancer: Basal cell carcinoma, melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Ignoring melanoma, basal and squamous cell cancer are less dangerous to health. There would major percentage of caner type are related to basal and squanmous cell cancer.

But this is not compulsory to have skin cancer for all human persons. But based on survey this is found that persons with fair or freckled skin, light eyes, blonde and red hair have higher risk of cancer. Beside personality factors, there are other factors like family history, personal history of skin cancer, living in sunny weather, outdoor jobs also.

Skin cancer can be diagnosed with some symptoms like common symptom is change in mole in skin. Size of mole also defines type of skin cancer like basal cell has smooth, small, pearly bump on ears, neck or face.

Almost all women, even those who are still in their puberty stage, already know about cellulite; how

Almost all women, even those who are still in their puberty stage, already know about cellulite; however, its real meaning is usually misunderstood. Most people use the term “cellulite” to refer to the ugly plump figure. It is also often used to refer to the extra fat in the thigh and the belly.

It is a common misconception that only overweight and obese women develop cellulite. In fact, even young and slim women can develop cellulite. It has been proven that cellulite is caused by hormones because there was a high correlation between hormonal change and the appearance of cellulite. Hormonal change occurs during the puberty stage, pregnancy, up to the menopausal stage. Inadequate water intake, poor diet, and lack of exercise may aggravate the condition.

Presently, there arent any scientific studies published or reported about the effective treatment of cellulite. However, many products and therapies that claim to fight cellulite continue to flood the beauty and aesthetic industry. Even without medical prescription, different anti-cellulite products such as anti-cellulite cream, cellulite lotion, as well as cellulite potion are selling like pancakes. Cellulite massage treatments, such as deep massaging are also getting more and more popular, since they can also be used to improve the blood circulation around the problem areas.

Most people believe that anti-cellulite products will fight or control cellulite. However, cellulite products are topically applied to repair the texture of the damaged skin. These products actually do not have lasting effect. Moreover, they also require constant application to yield positive results. Most anti-cellulite products contain aminophylline. This substance is said to have the ability to reduce the dimpling and lumping of the skin, since it passes through the skin’s cell membrane and it is absorbed by the bloodstream for the conversion of fat cells into fatty acids. Cellulite lotions containing aminophylline as the primary ingredient should not be exposed to heat and must be consumed quickly, whereas Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and retinol in cellulite creams and lotions are the ones responsible for repairing and improving the texture of the skin damaged by cellulite.

Retinoids may also be an ingredient of anti-cellulite products. Products with this ingredient should be used at night because light has the tendency to destroy Retinol. The effectiveness of Retinols to remove or get rid of cellulite is still not proven, but one thing is sure, Retinol can improve the skin circulation and the texture of the skin. There are also some anti-cellulite products that contain herbs and caffeine. Herbal products in anti-cellulite products are also getting popular these days.

In the end, any woman with cellulite will realize that preventing cellulites is better that treating it. There are some things that an individual can do to prevent the appearance of ugly cellulite. Keep in this in mind healthy lifestyle is the best prevention you can do.

Cellulite is an aesthetic condition that can greatly shatter one’s confidence. We just know that this is the lump in our skin but do you know what actually causes the cellulites to appear? There are many different factors that can contribute to the appearance of cellulite. These are:

1. Genes: Some people are really born with more fat cells, weak veins, poor circulation, and fragile lymphatic vessels.

2. Stress: Too much and prolonged stress can contribute to the fat deposits in the body.

3. Sedentary lifestyle: Inactive or sedentary people tend to have poor circulation, poor venous, and poor lymphatic systems. Sedentary lifestyle may also cause a person to gain weight, thereby increasing the risk of cellulite appearance.

4. Smoking: This is one of the major causes of cellulite. Cigarettes contain highly-charged oxygen molecules that can damage the capillary walls and veins, thereby causing leaking and inflammation.

5. Overweight and obesity: Overweight or obese people tend to have more cellulite. Clearly and obviously, an overweight and obese people have more excessive fats, and these fats push the cellulite towards the subcutaneous layer of the skin, thereby worsening the cellulite appearance.

Now that you already know the causes of cellulite, you might be wondering how to avoid these causes and counteract the effect of these causes. From many readings and articles provided about cellulites, it has been made clear that no single product or lifestyle can actually remove the cellulite from your skin. However, the most effective and proven way to remove cellulites is the combination of 3 important methods: exercise, diet change, and anti-cellulite products.

Let’s start with the diet. If you really want to get rid of cellulite, you need to reduce or possibly get rid of fat intake, because obviously, this is a major contributor to cellulite appearance. As much as possible, remove all saturated or bad fat from your diet. You should also remove those that contribute to the buildup of toxins. To do this, you need to increase your consumption of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. You should also eat fiber-rich foods. Drinking water instead of soda and alcohol will help you a lot in fighting the appearance of cellulite.

The second thing to do is exercise. As you already know, exercise helps burns and tones the area most affected by the cellulite. However, there are some things to remember. You need to focus more on your anaerobic and cardiovascular exercises. Cardiovascular exercises help burn excessive fat while the anaerobic exercises firm and tone the problem area.

Now, you have to support your efforts with anti-cellulite products. These products are actually the link that brings these top three top tips together. Why is this? Anti-cellulite products give your body the essential nutrients necessary to repair the damaged connective tissues and cell structures.

If you are trying to fight wrinkles, especially eye wrinkles, you should know that there is one ingr

If you are trying to fight wrinkles, especially eye wrinkles, you should know that there is one ingredient you cannot do without. Grapeseed oil is a fantastic ingredient that is used in many different creams and preparations to fight eye wrinkles.

Grapeseed oil is fantastic to cure wrinkles in general and eye wrinkles in particular. Because wrinkles in the eye can be quite deep from repeated squinting and smile lines, you will need a powerful ingredient that is able to fight wrinkles quickly and effectively.

You may wonder what makes grapeseed oil so effective at fighting wrinkles around the eyes. It is because it has moisturizing properties which allow it to repair stressed or damaged skin. The skin around the eyes is thin and wrinkles around the eye can be difficult to treat. Therefore instead of using a large number of products to fight eye wrinkles, you need to make sure you are using one powerhouse ingredient.

Grapeseed oil contains substances like linoleic acid in high concentrations. This is excellent because these ingredients cure wrinkles by helping to re-establish normal cell structure. If cells have been damaged by sun or repeated motion, they can wrinkle and healing this structure can help to cure wrinkles extremely effectively.

Because eye wrinkles are so close to the eyes, you also need to be very careful that the ingredients in any creams which you use to treat eye wrinkles should be very mild and gentle so as not to hurt you. Grapeseed is ideal because it can fight wrinkles without irritating your eyes.

If you want to use grapeseed oil to fight wrinkles there are a number of different products you can use. If you are trying to fight wrinkles near your eyes you will need to pay attention to the products you use since using a formula intended to fight wrinkles on other areas of the face or body can irritate your eyes, sometimes severely.

Trying to find ways to fight wrinkles can be difficult. If you remember grapeseed oil as the power house ingredient you will be very pleased with how your skin looks and feels in no time at all. Remember that improving the look of eye wrinkles you can give yourself a more youthful appearance. Wrinkles in the eyes are considered one of the top signs of aging so finding ways to heal them will have you looking younger before you know it.

We would all like to be able to sit back and enjoy the beauty, and relaxation, of our own backyard p

We would all like to be able to sit back and enjoy the beauty, and relaxation, of our own backyard pool. Having a pool instantly increses the home’s value and if you decide to sell your home in the future, this addition to the amenities will no doubt put your house at the top of the list for buyers.

Rectangular, round, kidney-shaped, square, above ground or permanent in-ground the style choices are endless. But there is also another choice to consider when you are thinking about adding a pool to your home. Would you like it to be the salt-water version?

Salt water? Isn’t that only found in the ocean? And don’t you need chlorine for sanitization?

Salt-water pools were first introduced in the l960s in Australia and were not the first system of choice until recently. Now, thanks to the use of this option at vacation spots and cruise ships, this has become the fastest-growing technology available for pool installations. The initial cost of a salt-water pool is much higher than the chlorinated option as much as two to four times but people who have tried this alternative system say they wouldn’t have it any other way.

The water found in salt-water pools is not the same as you would find at your local beach, if you even have a beach nearby. Initially, pools are filled with regular water, often trucked in, and salt is added at a rate of 2500 to 4000 PPM (parts per million), which is insignificant compared with the salt concentration of 35,000 PPM typically found in ocean water. This addition only has to be done once, unless the pool is drained or a significant amount of water has been removed.

Chlorine is indeed in salt-water pools, but the levels are much lower. It is produced by a built-in chlorine generator cell that uses electrolysis. When the salt water passes through this cell, it is electronically charged and releases chlorine gas from the salt. When this gas combines with the pool water, it creates Hypochlorous acid, a form of liquid chlorine that ultimately keeps the pool sanitized.

The affects of swimming in a salt-water pool are many: the water feels smooth, it alleviates eye irritation, the strong smell of regular chlorine is virtually eliminated, your skin does not feel dried out after a swim, your swim wear lasts longer, and people indicate they feel more refreshed after a swim.

Maintenance is key:

There is a myth circulating that salt-water pools do not require maintenance. This is false as there are several aspects to cleaning equipment with this alternative style of pool:

1. pH levels between 7.4-7.6 must be maintained to sustain the effectiveness of chlorine. Check levels regularly.

2. The coping (cap on the edge of the pool) must be sealed, particularly if the stone is porous. Hose down the coping at the end of the day to reduce dried salt, which can cause corrosion.

3. Clean the salt-water generator regularly to avoid a build up of calcium, which could break the cell housing or shorten the life of the cell.

Yeah, I don’t. Kind of sad in a way. Especially when everyone around me is texting. They get them, they send them, and all I get are phone calls, or emails, or Facebook comments, sometimes I get phone calls on my cell phone, work cell phone, and work desk phone all at the same time. Yet, I feel left out, because I don’t have texting.

Why is it the gabillions of other ways to contact me don’t suffice?

Why can’t I ever be happy with what I have?

It’s my own fault I don’t have texting ability. David would get it for me in a minute if I told him I wanted it. Don’t get me wrong, I want it. But I don’t want it at the price I would need to pay to get it. I am determined to start living a life without so much stuff. Right now we pay for a house phone, three cell phone lines, and internet. We pay to communicate. We pay someone else to talk to, write to, and social network with friends and family. And yet I seem to spend less and less time with these very people I need to pay someone else so I can stay in contact with them.

Maybe when I’m not paying for so many other ways to communicate I’ll get texting.

So for right now you’ll have to call me. Or send me an email. Or drop me a note on Facebook. You could stop by and see me, but chances are I’ll have my computer sitting on my lap so I can keep checking Facebook. And see if anyone is reading my blog to see what I’m thinking about.

Yeah, pretty sad. But don’t stop reading my blog.

It seems that Sony Ericsson might be going into a rather stressful holiday season. Why do we say that? Well, aside from the existing issues with the Saito that they’re trying to tackle, it seems that its other flagship phone, the Aino, might have some issues with the phones’ touchscreen capabilities. A spokesperson for Sony Ericsson has said that only a small number of Aino units have issues, and they’re working as quickly as possible to sort things out.

Recently, Common Sense Media and Benenson Strategy Group conducted over 2,000 interviews with teenagers about their cellphone use. Here are some of their findings:

–Eight in 10 teenagers have cell phones.

–In an average week, teens send 440 text messages.

–110 of these text messages are sent during class.

–65 percent of teens use their cellphones in the building despite school policy.

–35 percent admitted to cheating on a test at least once with their cellphone.

–65 percent say they know of somebody who has cheated with a cellphone.

–Only 41 percent say that cheating with a cellphone is a serious offense.

Although technology is obviously here to stay, and progressive educators must find innovative ways to use this technology to their students’ benefit, I believe we are nearing critical mass when it comes to cellphones and the classroom. Something has got to give: the cellphone or academic integrity.

In my opinion, cellphones in schools are going to eventually go in the direction of cellphones in cars—there will be stricter rules and regulations put in place to keep teens from abusing technology.

Let’s just hope principals and education policy makers come to their senses sooner rather than later.

The lab there has been showing off the latest prototype, a tiny computer including an LED embedded into a contact lens that receives 330 microwatts of power wirelessly from a nearby RF transmitter. Dr. Babak Parviz has been using the prototypes to display biosensor feedback about the wearer’s vital signs. The wireless power is picked up by a loop antenna built into the lens, and future iterations of the hardware are expected to integrate the transmitter into a cellphone.

Conventional contact lenses are polymers formed in specific shapes to correct faulty vision. Parviz turned a lens into a functional system, integrated control circuits, communication circuits, and miniature antennas into the lens using custom-built optoelectronic components. Those components will eventually include hundreds of LEDs, which will form images in front of the eye, such as words, charts, and photographs. Much of the hardware is semitransparent so that wearers can navigate their around their surroundings. Future plans see the opto-electronic lenses being used for more than just displaying data; they’ll also be able to monitor the eye’s surface chemistry, which would allow wearable computers to keep track on blood sugar levels in diabetics and other information. Parviz’s eventual goal is the contact lens becoming a platform “like the iPhone is today”, with developers creating custom apps.

How long will it be before we have the first “Android?”

The defacto standard on smart phone keyboards are QWERTY. The layout was derived from the traditional desktop keyboard and so the mobile user can easily make the finger to thumb transition when on the fly. Those days may be a thing of the past. Swype Inc. is set to debut a new technology that doesn’t isn’t your run of the mill clicking/pressing of miniature buttons on your touchscreen phone’s soft-keyboard.

Instead of tapping, you use your finger to “swipe” from letter to letter to increase typing speed.

Let’s watch a video shall we?

Does it make you want it in your precious iPhone? You can’t have it. The technology will arrive in Samsung’s Omnia II touchscreen smart phone on Verizon. The Omnia II goes on sale December 2, so it isn’t long before we start “swyping.”

Here’s another video demonstrating how text can be inputted much faster than on the iPhone

Stuart Hughes, who covers mobile phones with gold and diamonds has just finished making what is probably the worlds most expensive mobile phone ever for one of his clients.

A GSM phone is not directly linked to you|GSM phones are not tied to your mobile phone. Instead, it

A GSM phone is not directly linked to you|GSM phones are not tied to your mobile phone. Instead, it has a removable account card, called a SIM (subscriber information module) and this Card has a unique number on it. This is what identifies you to the wireless provider

<img src="http://www.shopaservice.com/articles/wp-content/uploads/camera-phones.jpg"

Generally cell phone service works so that the unique serial number in your cellular phones (its ESN) is used by the cell phone provider to identify you and connenct you to their network. The wireless carrier ‘knows’ that a particular phone’s serial number is your cell phone and knows to send telepohne calls to that phone when someone dials your phone.

The important difference about this is that you can put your SIM into any compatible mobile phonme (rarely are gsm phones not compatible) and that phone will now act as your cellular phone, because your service provider sees your unique SIM card in the phone. They dont care that you’ve changed phones, all they care about is if they can provide service to your SIM card
And now for the really stimulating part of this. Just as, in theory, you can transfer your SIM car dot any phone, the opposite is also true. Any phone is compatible with any . So, if you’ve already purchased an expensive cell phone that you like and have leanred the features, if you transfer from one GSM network to another one, you don’t have to shell out money for a new phone. You can keep the phone you’ve grown accustmed to, and all you need to do is switch the first gsm network’s SIM with your new service provider’s SIM.

But, some networks ‘lock’ their phones, meaning that their phones have been programmed to only work with their SIM cards. Revoking that lock – unlocking your mobile phone so it can work with any compatible carrier – is what this is all about.
—-
What is GSM Technology? Is it different than normal cell phone service? How do I know if I have GSM or not?

GSM is a type of mobile phone service. The more common type of digital mobile phone service in the US is CDMA, but just about every other country in the world uses primarily or only GSM.

For you as the purchaser of your phone, there is no difference at all between using a mobile phone on a CDMA system or a phone on a GSM system. Unfortunately, the two different networks are not compatible with each other so you cant switch between phones if your mvoing form GSM to CDMA or vicea versa

If you have a T-Mobile or Cingular(now AT&T) then you are using a GSM phone.

Can I just buy an unlocked phone without signing up for service?

Yes, there are several ways to purchase an unlocked phone without needing to sign up for a year or two of service that you mightn’t need or want. You can simply buy a used or new GSM phone on the internet or from a friend or somewhere like that.

If you buy a used cell phone from an individual always make sure it unlocked before commiting to purchase.

You can also acquire Unlocked Cell Phones from online stores such as my favorite,J-Cellular or Best Buy

Black Friday is just around the corner, and you know what that means? Yeah, credit card time again

I heard Apple is having their Black Friday sale again too on their online store at apple.com. Don’t expect big price cuts though, price cuts are usually in the range of 3% to 7%. I also read that a bunch of cell phones (read: smartphones) like the Samsung Instinct and a few HTC phones are going to be free (and some will cost $0.01) on Amazon.

Gizmodo’s also got a hold of a complete list of deals on Black Friday.
Take a look at the list here.

I have been reading online about the new Blackberry Bold 9700. I’ll admit. I don’t need

I have been reading online about the new Blackberry Bold 9700.

I’ll admit. I don’t need the phone right now. It’s a want. It’s new. It’s shiny, I’m a gadget geek.

So I thought I would see what an upgrade (early) would entail.

One thing I have learned is that you talk to one AT&T store you hear one thing, another store will tell you the opposite.

I went online and viewed the phone specs and then went to AT&T’s website. That confused me. I would find pages that told me I’d get the current promotional pricing and then it would quote me the full price.

Wednesday since I only worked a half day and the office was pretty much dead, I decided to call a store and see what I could find out.

I called the AT&T store on Military Hwy in Norfolk near Military Circle mall. The guy that answered the phone seemed to not want to answer my questions since I wasn’t a new line of service. Told me that because I wasn’t in the store he could not pull up the account information for my early upgrade date. However he said that since I was looking to upgrade before my April early upgrade date I could probably get $75 off the $299 price.

Since I sensed he really didn’t want to help me I figured I’d drive to the store that I purchased the iPhone from Wednesday evening and see what I could find.

I was VERY dissappinted. The salesman was a wet behind the ears jerk. I used to be in the cellular business. The technology is more digital now but the basics did not change. Helping people is how you build your base, not concentrating on a new line of service!

He said you have to stay in your contract for two years first. So I asked him why AT&T said I could upgrade in April then. He said oh, you know that date. Nothing I can do.

I said come on. I’ve paid for the iPhone 3x’s so far since I got it. That I was very upset that no insurance could be purchased by the phone. Also expressed my displeasure that I hear AT&T has a third party company providing insurance but I can’t get it because the phone is older than 60 days.

Then he started to go into a lecture that they could not give me early pricing because of the FCC. Told him I guess I could cancel this line and go to T-Mobile then since they have the same phone.

He then told me to contact customer service. He said that they sometimes would approve a purchase of the phone for $299 and a two year contract. If they did to just have them note my account.

I went outside and contacted customer service. Explained what I have been trying to do and what the little boy salesman told me.

The service rep said that’s strange. I can. Or tour account all ibwant but it’s up to that store manager to approve. I had it with that store. The service rep told me she could pull up a core store nearby that could help I lost confidence in her when she asked me what the abbrevation was for Virginia.

I decided to drive to the AT&T store at Hilltop and see what I could find there. Their signage said they were open to 8. However, when I got there ten minutes to 8 they had already closed.

So far I have found that these sales reps are only interested in helping you if you are starting a new line of service. Very poor customer service and uninformed sales people that told me twenty different things.

I’m weighing my options. I’ve paid my bill on time every month. Never had a need to deal with anyone in awhile.

I’ve been in sales and sales managment. What I’ve experienced was crap. I’d get rid of some of these people if I was in management and saw how they handle customers.
