What a beautiful day for a wedding and what a lovely church to have it at. Sarah and Brian were a really wonderful couple, full of fun and love and willing to share it with all of us. Thanks you all for sharing their special day with me.

Congratulations to Stephen’s bride and groom on May 2nd.  Central United Methodist Church has a beautiful sanctuary with stained glass windows several floors high!  The rain held off long enough for them to capture some great shots outside and around the World’s Fair Grounds.  The fountians are a beautiful place to have photographs done, especially if you are having your reception at the Foundry.  The Foundry on the Fair Site has offered their services for over 14 years, catering over 2000 receptions.  Take a look at some of Deanna and Daniel’s captured moments by Stephen.  Also, please enjoy the short video of their entire day below the photographs.

[Source: Margaret Dietrich] — The Midtown Museum District Neighborhood Association (MMDNA) met on August 11 at Central United Methodist Church on Central Avenue (pictured at right).  Amy Bratt with Valley Metro gave a lively, interesting, and informative presentation about Light Rail and provided insight on what MMNDA residents might experience when the project opens on December 27, 2008.  MMDNA looks forward to working with Valley Metro to plan events around the three stations in the neighborhood.

There was also an opportunity for MMDNA residents to meet and to register their interests in different aspects of the association’s work.

The next MMDNA meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 2520 N. Central Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m.  This will be an opportunity for businesses and residents to work together and agree on priorities for the future, and to find out what is happening in the area.  Refreshments will be served and seating is limited, so please RSVP by e-mail.  For more details about the organization, click here.

A contingent of residents and businesses in midtown Phoenix are working to organize a Midtown Museum District Neighborhood Association.  Proposed boundaries are McDowell to Indian School, 3rd St. to 1st Ave. from McDowell to Thomas, and 3rd St. to 3rd Ave. from Thomas to Indian School.

The group hopes to keep track of public policy issues affecting the neighborhood; hold social events to building a sense of community; partner with local businesses, cultural attractions, and Light Rail; and form a Block Watch to reduce crime and vandalism.

The association is in the formation stage.  Interested parties are welcome to help decide how the group can work together for the benefit of everyone who lives and works in the neighborhood. 

The first organizational meeting will be held:
