El estreno de Planet 51 por fin ha llegado a las pantallas españolas.  Desde que se estrenara el pasado 20 de noviembre en EEUU y Canada, la película ha recorrido ya las salas de Argentina, Malasia, Rusia, Ucrania, Georgia y Grecia y podrá verse hoy en España, Mexico, Brasil, Grecia y Chipre.

Planet 51, que ha recaudado ya $14,587,026, ha recibido duras críticas por parte de los medios americanos.  Sin embargo, se espera que tenga mucha mejor acogida dentro de la industria europea.

Sus principales competidoras en la taquilla española este fin de semana serán Paranormal activity, con una recaudación hasta la fecha de $106,407,695 y El baile de la victoria, de Fernando Trueba.

Don’t worry it will get better. My animation will get better as I improve over time with a bit more practice. Still, I’m proud of my first time. For the past year, I’ve been raving about the possibility of me going into animation. I was going to enroll in Animation Mentor, work for Pixar, and become some great animator. Well, let’s hope the last is true, but honestly I think I’m in love with Dreamworks right now. I actually was turned down from Animation Mentor and neither Pixar nor Dreamworks will probably want me for the next few years, but I’m working at it.

After talking such a good game about learning animation, I finally bought the software. It took me months to be able to afford my monitor and all the computer parts, but finally I purchased everything, including the Jason Ryan Tutorials. With all of this, I was ready to start animating.

However, my life is filled with obstacles and it took me a month to learn the basics. Because most of Jason’s tutorials are in Maya 2008 and I knew nothing about the program, I was completely lost trying to learn things. Still, a little dedication, a sprinkle of not sleeping, and a hand full of reading everything possible from forums to Maya’s help menu, I learned everything that I needed to. Actually, I learned everything that I could afford. Jason’s tutorials are a bit out of my price range for right now because I’m a full time student, but I bought the beginner’s modules and two Webinars to make up for my absolute confusion.

So, basically my animation is self taught. I found a club online that allows animators to post their work every month in a competition. It is a great website because it provides you with an 11 seconds clip to bring a character to life. I originally planned to teach myself animation until January. Then, I was going to participate in the competition. However, I realized that I could benefit more from the feedback of others so I decided to work on November’s sound clip.

I love the club. The people are nice and help you with questions if you post to the forums, and the clips are ridiculous fun to animate to. There are some people that always manage to give negative feedback, but there are others that give good constructive advice. I listen to some and avoid others, but all-in-all it is a huge learning experience.

For my clip I decided to create two characters. (Yes I was a bit ambitious for my first animation). I wanted to show the reaction of another character to a guy that sounds completely out of his mind. Because I don’t know rigging and had access to some chairs and a desk, I thought I could make it a blind date. I know there are some problems with the animation, but since I was learning a lot this round, I made some poses that were difficult to undo. I also mask some of my lack of ability with simple movements.

All of the yapping above was a long explanation to introduce the video below. Feel free to comment on it. I started learning in October so I’m pretty proud to have moved along so well. Hopefully, I can get a lot better at it though because there’s a lot of room to improve.

Variance de folie en 400, clairement … avec 3 mains de meta ça push dans tous les sens avec 99+ et AQs+, c’est chaud et ca donne des swings pénibles. Cette fois j’ai chatté mes flips et ma range était au dessus de celles de Vilain.

Enfin bon, 1000$ d’ev all-in en trop … préparez-vous pour un nouveau post déprime demain imo.

Who says you got to be in the Hollywood to create awesome 3D effects and rendering masterpieces. Meet Turalom aka Pantural, a self taught 3D animation artist from Azerbaijan, a place not familiar to most of the people in the design community. He spends days or even weeks sometimes to get the right 3D rendering done. Once finished, the realism is exceptional and unprecedented. The details, the lighting and the shadows are so perfect, you would be awe-struck just by seeing the screenshots of his designs. Imagine what would happen if you saw one of his videos.

Tural got his first computer when he was 15. Within 12 – 14 days of getting it, he was giving Photoshop lessons to his family and friends. He was very passionate about movies and he filmed his first movie using his father’s camera at the age of 12 and since then he became so interested in movie editing, thanks to Sony Vegas, he transformed into a totally different person. Later on, he learnt about 3DS Max and then worked days and months learning. Whatever he has created is certainly a great achievement.

Comme vous avez pu vous en rendre compte, je ne post que quand je me fais défoncer donc on ne va pas changer la donne et n’attendez vous pas à autre chose que du pleurnichage en règle!

On est 210bb deep, je call son 3bet avec ma pocket paire pourrie, standard. Je touche mon set floppé, cool. Raiser au flop est surement le bon move, je ne sais pas trop ce que j’espère ? un 4, 5 ou 6 pour tuer l’action s’il a une overpaire j’imagine … tsss.  En mm temps, faut etre cohérent, weak que je suis sur les pots 3bet, je ne raise jamais ici sans les nuts ou un tirage de folie, encore moins 200bb deep … donc restons coherent et esperons qu’il touche qque chose de sympa à la turn. Oh our toucher il touche le salaud. Mon min raise est moche surement aussi au turn mais j’avoue que je ne sais pas quoi fair et puis bon … rien a faire de toute façon.

Vilain joue 24/18, 5 de 3bet a peine. Sur a peine 764 mains que j’ai sur lui, il est deja a 4200$ de gain. On ne peut rien faire contre un mec qui a un run de folie …

2)

Pour ceux qui ne suivent pas, Vilain limp preflop et just call mon squeeze avec KK. Original. Pas mal joué puisque je suis un peu en mode déglingo (sans + néanmoins) depuis 20 minutes dû à des boards pourris. Evidemment il va toucher son set. Je check turn pour induce genre TT, JJ, QQ, AQ. Quand il bet turn genre je vais te milker j’ai des doutes mais si on commence à folder ça … on est bon pour le rami.
Et allez encore 150bb en mois …

Vilain me raise pas mal au bouton, je decide de flat call avec AJ oop, pas génial mais pas horrible.
Mon bet river est peut-être moche après coup mais je pense pouvoir recup qque chose de JJ+ ou même d’un Tx

Was, indeed, very sore this morning. Got up early-ish to go and get two more shots done. Another $300! Woohoo! Sore all over and getting on the trains in Tokyo, the tail end of the commuter rush. No fun.

Wandered around Tokyo a bit. Walked around Yoyogi and Harajuku, the back streets, the strange streets with so many hairdressers and random shops.

Feeling woozy now, probably because of the shots. Want to sleep, but it’s still a little early. Have tried to draw, but I find that when I actually try and draw, all the stuff that I produce is pretty mediocre. Maybe better luck tomorrow morning.

I’ve finally gotten around to rendering and uploading those faces I modeled a while back.  They aren’t all winners but that’s how it goes.  Anyway, enjoy.

I also finished UVing that guitar.  Time to start texturing that bad boy.

Did this scribble a while ago. My morbid fascination with the Chechen war(s) leads me to read about that war (I guess this is an extention of my Russophilia?). I don’t mean to trivialise it in anyway, but I am genuinly, morbidly, curious about it. Conflicts and their brutality seem to interest me. Yes, that sounds mildly disturbing, but that’s the case. Less about the cruelty that an individual inflicts on another… but the phenomenon of mass brutality, and the tragedy of people caught up in it. For someone who has never had to experinece such a thing thus far in her life, it’s mesmerising in a really horrifying way. Just typing this out disturbs me. I’ll attempt this topic for another day.
