Actually, the waiter, who obviously had a thing for my gorgeous family members, refilled our pitcher for free. There was no way we could finish it though. Fail on our part.

80er sind eben 80er und die Musik immer die Gleiche, aber es war trotzdem rischtisch lustisch.

Und 4 Cocktails. Tropical Dream. Und da tauchte dieser kleine Mensch vor mir auf, freudig erregt schilderte er seine große verflossene Liebe, mit der er immer so toll Cha-Cha-Cha tanzen konnte und ich wäre das Ebenbild!

Er fragte dann höflich meinen Mann (Arbeitskollege Horst, aber wir haben ihn in dem Glauben gelassen) ob er mit mir tanzen dürfte? Ja, sagte Horst grosszügisch. Danke Horst!

Ok, Cha-Cha-Cha hab ich ja mal im Fernsehen gesehen, aber getanzt noch nie. Das hab ich dann dem hoffnungsfrohen kleinen Menschen gesagt. Er sagte: Kein Problem! Ich zeigs dir und zeigte mir die Schritte gaaanz langsam. Das ist nix für mich, langsam. Da kapier ich nichts, ich muss das fliessend sehen, in Takt und Würde. Nachdem er dann schon dachte, er hätte die Falsche gewählt, hat ers mir dann doch mal schnell gezeigt und schwuppsdiwupps konnte Iro Cha-Cha-Cha und der kleine Mensch freute sich wie Bolle! Und noch schwuppsiger war das Lied zu Ende und kleiner fröhlicher Mensch enttäuscht.

Aber da! Hossa! Ein Merengue (sagte er, ich zweifle heute noch) und den musste er mir dann auch noch beibringen. Beifallheischender Blick zu Horst, Horst nickte seinen Segen gebend, danke Horst!!

Und schon musste sich Iro mit dem kleinen, wieder fröhlichen Menschen langsam im Merengue-Dings wiegen.

Danach verabschiedete sich der kleine fröhliche Mensch, wahrscheinlich weil er Angst hatte, meinen Mann überzustrapazieren und entschwand. Nicht ohne Hinweis darauf, dass er jeden Mittwoch da sei und mich da gerne mal wieder über die Tanzfläche schieben würde. Horst nickte ihm noch hinterher. Danke Horst!

Så var jeg jo til et photoshoot for CHA CHA CHA idag, som skal bruges til lidt af hvert fik jeg i vide, dvs at man kan håbe på det bedste .. Shootet hentede inspiration i en kampagne for Jean Paul Gaultier, og det var det shoot hvor modellen både var stylet som mand og kvinde i samme set .

Vi var 2 piger og to drenge, hvor piger skiftevis blev stylet som drenge og piger, hvilket jeg og min fellow-model også blev i drengeshoottet . Jeg fik taget billeder af 3 runder, hvor jeg på første billede var pige, på andet billede var dreng, og på det sidste var vi begge drenge sammen . Det var ekstremt edgy, ekstremt fedt og vildt sjovt at få lov til . Håret var overdådigt (det er jo CHA CHA CHA!), tøjet var fra bl.a. David Andersen og det hele gik bare op i en højere enhed . Jeg kunne selvfølgelig ikke tage billeder af mine egne outfit’s, men poster dem lige så snart det er muligt, dog har jeg lidt backstagebilleder som i kan se! Velkommen til modeverdenen!

Cha-Cha-Chá este un stil de muzică de dans, de origine cubaneză.

Urmându-l pe Perez Prado, un val nou de muzicieni de Mambo a apărut. Unii experimentau cu tehnici noi legate de ritm şi paşii de dans. Se consideră că experimentarea lui Enrique Jorrín cu paşii de dans a dus la dezvoltarea unui nou gen de muzică, numit Cha Cha Chá.

Enrique Jorrín a compus ritmul de Cha-cha-chá în mod inventiv, prelucrând melodiile tradiţionale de Danzone. Numele genului nou, răspândit în întreaga lume, este dat de către dansatoarele din clubul Silver Star Club din Havana, care, aflându-se în procesul de invenţie sau creaţie a dansului pentru acest nou gen de ritmuri, descoperă că se face un sunet ciudat de fiecare dată când pantofii alunecau pe podea … pe cei trei timpi repetitivi ai melodiei. Astfel, s-a creat cuvântul onomatopeic (cu trei silabe) care imita acel sunet al frecatului podelei cu tălpile pantofilor, apărut în timpul dansului

I denne her uge er jeg endnu engang lidt travl, da jeg i morgen har PR og Torsdag også . Fredag har jeg også planer, og Søndag har jeg et modeljob . Det pr jeg skal skal til i morgen, er i anledning af den nye sko fra Bianco, som har samarbejdet med Hummel . Jeg ved ikke hvordan skoene ser ud, og forventer egentligt bare en eksplosion af farver, så jeg glæder mig rigtigt meget tl at se hvordan det ser ud . Torsdag skal jeg i Friis og Co’s showroom for at kigge på nogle af deres spændende nye ting, og Fredag skal jeg til bisættelse . Jobbet på Lørdag er for CHA CHA CHA, der skal lavet et fotoshoot, hvor vi er 4 modeller . Hvad billederne skal bruges til og hvad hele ideen med dem er, ved jeg ikke, men det finder jeg jo ud af, så det er super spændende (og så står der i min jobbeskrivelse at jeg får en goodiebag med produkter og en gratis klipbehandling, så det er jo lækkert!)

Der Cha Cha Cha ist ein moderner Paartanz und kommt ursprünglich aus Kuba. Er gehört zu den lateinamerikanischen Tänzen und in wird in vielen Tanzschulen unterrichtet. Die ursprüngliche kubanische Form des Cha Cha Cha`s unterscheidet sich in Technik und Figurenrepertoire stark vom heutigen Turniertanz.

Cha Cha Cha Musik ist heiter und unbeschwert. Der Cha Cha Cha wird im vier-viertel-Takt notiert, hat die Hauptbetonung auf dem ersten Taktschlag und wird in einem Tempo von 30 bis 32 Takten pro Minute gespielt und getanzt. Der Cha Cha Cha ist ein stationärer Tanz, wird also weitgehend am Platz getanzt. Wie die Rumba lebt auch der Cha Cha Cha von Hüftbewegungen. Die Schritte sollten eher klein ausfallen, da sonst die Hüftbewegung unnötig erschwert würde. Charakteristisch für den Cha Cha Cha ist das Chassé auf „4 und 1“.

Schrittfolgen für den Herren

Der Herr beginnt seinen Cha Cha Cha Grundschritt mit einem Startschritt auf dem rechten Fuß, anschließend geht er mit seinem linken Fuß vorwärts übernimmt das Gewicht auf dem rechten Fuß wieder an der Stelle und tanzt sein charakteristisches Cha Cha Cha zur Seite. Dann geht der Herr in seinen Rückwärtsteil: er tanzt einen Schritt rückwärts, übernimmt das Gewicht wieder auf dem vorderen Fuß und tanzt anschließend wieder sein Cha Cha Cha.

Der Grundschritt wird wiederholt:

1. Startschritt auf dem rechten Fuß
2. Linker Fuß vorwärts

            My husband and I are in a crisis mode because we are about to become empty-nesters. We sit in the family room, ponder, and polish off a couple of cool ones.

            “I’ve heard that Serenity Lakes Adult Community has a great golf course.  They even have a Seniors jazz band and couples bunco.  What do you think—should we move?” Scott asks.

            I’m a LOT younger than my hubby—by at least two years.  “I think we should take the young-and-hip route instead,” I reply. 

            The next day Scott and I purchase matching Ed Hardy hoodies and low-rise Lucky jeans.  I color my grays, sign up for Facebook, and slide on a toe ring.

            “Hey, we should also think about taking ballroom dance lessons,” I say to Scott.  “It’s good for our minds and bodies.”   We had been watching “Dancing with the Stars” for weeks.  I could just see Scott in his tails and me in a strappy chiffon peach number.  Of course, I wouldn’t look quite the same as the sweet young things on TV.  There might be extra flesh amidst the peach chiffon.

            “Hey,” replies Scott.  “Couldn’t I just do that colonoscopy you’ve been nagging me about?”

            We end up at a ballroom studio nearby with spiffy new dance shoes on, ready for Lesson One.  We know we can do this!  After, people teach circus bears to dance.  Why not us?

            We start off learning a basic foxtrot, with B-B-B-Bing Crosby crooning “Harbor Lights” in the background.  It’s going great!  “Slow, slow quick-quick. . .” Scott whispers romantically in my ear. 

            Suddenly, our dance instructor is beside us, clapping his hands sharply in exasperation. 

            “No!  You do not lead by grabbing the flesh on your wife’s back and pulling!  Lead like this.  Your whole body.  And pull your carriage UP.” 

            We work on keeping our upper bodies “up.”  Soon, we look like dancing bears, but with good posture.

            We learn next how to navigate an outside turn. 

            “Again.” encourages the instructor. “Again.”

            Our cool new dance shoes have footprints all over their tops. My pedicure is shot.  But, we complete a perfect turn.   Encouraged, we try it again.  Halfway through, my hair gets caught in Scott’s watch band.  I come to a screeching halt mid-turn and yelp.

            I couldn’t make this stuff up.

            The instructor comes running over to us and carefully untangles us. We pick up the shreds of our dignity, a few shreds of my hair, and continue.

            Fourteen weeks later, Scott and I are in the thick of cha-cha lessons.  The cha-cha dance is full of precision, passion, and attitude.  The attitude I’ve got.  Scott and I rename ourselves Edwardo and Chenise.  I buy sparkly spiked red dance shoes, while Scott tries to grow a debonair mustache.  I offer him my eyebrow pencil to help the mustache situation.

            The cha-cha turn is a sharp pivot, completed in about one second.  In the midst of “Bailamos” by Enrique Iglesias, Scott raises his arm to signal my turn.  This move translates into a swift left hook to my jaw.  We can hear the “whap!” all over the dance studio.  The instructor runs over and checks for blood.

            Scott and I both start laughing, because the Three Stooges couldn’t have orchestrated this any better.  Then, he frowns, “You need to pay attention and follow my lead!”

            “You call THAT a LEAD???” I toss back.

            Week twenty-four.  The samba.  Edwardo and Chenise are still at it.

            When it comes to dance lessons, my mother was right.  She used to say, “Divorce no, murder yes.”

Inutile de revenir une fois de plus sur l’excellence du label Honest Jon’s et le travail magnifique de réédition auquel il s’est attaqué depuis la redoutable opportunité qu’a représenté pour eux l’accès aux archives de 78tours du label EMI, qu’ils explorent aujourd’hui fiévreusement. Plongeons-nous plutôt dans le contenu de cette nouvelle anthologie, consacrée au répertoire congolais des années cinquante. Si la rumba congolaise a obtenu une place de choix dans le panorama des musiques du monde, à travers ses différents styles, ses multiples variations, depuis ses origines jusqu’à son imposition comme LE genre musical hégémonique de toute l’Afrique Centrale, peu de choses sont connues de ce passage historique du high-life qui l’a précédé au melting-pot d’influences qui constitue la rumba et le soukouss telle que nous la connaissons. Pour beaucoup de gens, la rumba du Congo belge et du Congo français ne démarre qu’à la fin des années cinquante, avec des formations légendaires comme l’OK-Jazz, le Tout Puissant Orchestre Kinshasa  de Franco, fondé en 1956 ou l’African Jazz du Grand Kalle dont le plus grand succès sera « independance cha cha cha » en 1960. Les artistes présents sur « The World is shaking » étaient actifs un an ou deux auparavant et illustrent les débuts trépidants de cette musique, qui faisait les belles heures des night-clubs de Brazzaville et de Léopoldville, avant de devenir un cri de ralliement pour les partisans de l’indépendance et de la décolonisation. Au milieu de cette décennie, les bars et les clubs des deux capitales attiraient une foule bigarrée de dandys (les fameux sapeurs, qui se rallieront plus tard à la Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes élégantes), d’employés en goguette, de voleurs à la tire, et des rares blancs se mêlant à la population locale pour faire la fête dans les quartiers noirs. Cette fête permanente débordant de tous les bars de l’Avenue Prince Baudouin avait pour bande-son une nouvelle musique, créée au shaker à base de tout ce qui était alors importé en Afrique par la radio et les 78tours : le jazz de Louis Armstrong, les bluettes sentimentales de Tino Rossi, et surtout les rythmes latinos-américains de la musique afro-cubaine, le tout récent cha cha cha et la rumba. Retour aux sources des rythmes africains, ce sont ces musiques, une fois leurs textes espagnols échangés pour des textes en Lingala ou en Kikongo, qui vont alors définir la musique congolaise pour les cinquante ans à venir. C’est l’époque où les sanza et les likembe africains, les « pianos de brousse », seront supplantés par les guitares, et où les flûtes feront place aux saxophones. Tous ces instruments nouveaux pour le continent seront en quelques années domestiqués et maîtrisés pour être mis au service d’une frénésie d’expérimentation en tout sens, propulsant les entrelacs complexes de la musique traditionnelle vers les rythmes effrénés du soukouss, du kwassa kwassa, et plus tard, du ndombolo. En 1954 tout cela restait à inventer, mais ce que cette anthologie présente est plus qu’un début prometteur. C’est un témoignage tonitruant d’une musique fascinante, en pleine mutation, inventée au fur et à mesure qu‘elle se jouait, et interprétée avec une fougue, une flamme et une jubilation hautement communicatives, qui émeuvent encore, plus de cinquante ans plus tard.

Y así escogió el músico cubano Osvaldo Farrés, un tipo capaz de conquistar a su esposa a través de la radio, haciéndole escuchar un bolero que acababa de componer para ella (el inmortal Toda una vida).

Parece que a Farrés, no sabemos por qué, le gustaba más una -s al final, y ¿quizá? para dejarlo bien claro, en 1947 tituló triplemente así su famosísimo Quizás, quizás, quizás.

Decenas de artistas han cantado este tema. Una de las versiones “clásicas” es la del conocidísimo trío Los Panchos con Eydi Gormé:

Igual de inolvidable es, para muchas personas, la interpretación de Nat King Cole, que aunque no sabía español, ¡grabó varios discos en este idioma! Cole tenía una voz aterciopelada y un maravilloso acento norteamericano. En España y en Hispanoamérica lo adoraban (mi madre lo sigue haciendo):

Pero aquí no acaba la historia de Quizás, quizás, quizás.

Si la canción te ha gustado, entonces tienes que saber que estás en la misma onda que la firma de lujo Loewe, creadora de un perfume con ese mismo nombre: “Es la primera vez en la historia de las fragancias en que una canción es la fuente de inspiración de un perfume”. Ahí queda eso.

Y por si fuera poco, Loewe compró todos los derechos de la canción de Osvaldo Farrés y creó un original anuncio televisivo, con ella como banda sonora, y un guión inspirado en la letra. ¿Se habría imaginado Osvaldo algo así? Quizás, quizás, quizás…

La II edición de la Fiesta cultural caribeña por la amistad y solidaridad entre los pueblos, que se celebrará los días 16 y 17 próximos, en La Habana,  se dedicará al Día de la Cultura Cubana.

Intercambios de experiencias en las diferentes manifestaciones del arte y tradiciones que identifican a los pueblos del Caribe insular y continental matizarán las jornadas de celebración, dijo a la AIN Francis Lowell, promotora cultural de la Asociación Caribeña de Cuba.

Mensajes alusivos al día en que acrisoló la nacionalidad de los cubanos serán pronunciados en el Centro de Prensa Internacional por personalidades nacionales de la educación, el deporte y la cultura, así como por estudiantes de la región y personal diplomático acreditado en Cuba.

El Centro de Prensa Internacional, sito en la Rampa, ese mismo viernes en horario vespertino abrirá sus puertas al público para que aprecie una muestra contentiva de esculturas, pinturas y fotografías de artistas de la plástica del área, informó Lowel.

Agregó que esta Fiesta cultural caribeña en la jornada sabatina y final estará matizada por la lírica de reconocidos poetas caribeños entre los que destacan el haitiano Jacques Roumain, el cubano Nicolás Guillén, y también habrá presentaciones de obras literarias y expoventas.

Entre arte culinario, música, teatro y danza, esta última aderezada por ritmos como danzón, son, merengue, cha cha chá, reggae, calipso y hip hop, entre otros, se sellará la fiesta de las artes del Caribe dedicada al Día de la Cultura Cubana, cuando se entonó por vez primera el Himno de Bayamo.

Andrea arrived on Thursday afternoon for her Fall Break Extravaganza. We went back to my place and ended up catching the Blue Angels fly over the city. Another moment when I was thankful for my view. We waited for Niamh to come up since we had all decided to go to the Academy of Sciences for Nitelife.

Before the Academy of Sciences we randomly found the Cha Cha Cha. Dalina had recommended it. The food was fantastic as was its famous Sangria. I definitely would suggest a visit there.

So what is cool about Thursday nights at the Academy of Sciences is that it pretty much turns into a huge bar. You get to see all the exhibits inside, but with alcohol in your hands.

It. Is. AWESOME.

When you are buzzed off Sangria and Beer. Aquariums seem so much cooler.

Reggaeton, klassas bland många som de ohämmades musikstil. Texterna är många gånger vulgära och ocensurerade. Med danssteg som kan ge träningsvärk i muskler man inte visste att man hade.

El mítico programa de Alfredo Casero volvería a la TV después de más de diez años, aunque sin Capusotto y Alberti. Detalles y video.

En los últimos años, Cha cha cha se convirtió en un programa de culto, con mucho más público y repercusión que en las temporadas que estuvo al aire por América. Ahora, hay fuertes versiones que indican que el ciclo de Alfredo Casero volvería a la TV en los próximos meses.

Según informa el sitio puroshow.com, el regreso se comenzó a gestarse el año pasado, cuando Casero se cruzó con el productor Guido Naya y entre charlas, éste último le propuso al actor regresar a la televisión con el ya mítico programa.

Luego de unos meses en que el proyecto se enfrió un poco, este verano volvieron a cruzarse en Punta del Este y una comida bastó para emprender el operativo retorno. La vuelta estaría en vistas para mediados de año y estaría protagonizada por el mismo Alfredo Casero, su hijo Nazareno Casero y el humorista Rodolfo Samsó (Alacrán), ya sin Diego Capusotto (analizando si vuelve con Peter Capusotto y sus videos o si arma una obra teatral) ni Fabio Alberti (el lunes arranca como conductor de Duro de Almorzar).

Cabe recordar que el programa nació en 1992 en América (la pantalla elegida para la vuelta, aunque también podría ser el Trece) luego de la disolución del elenco de De la cabeza y finalizó en 1997, cuando fue cancelado por censura de grupos religiosos que no toleraban el personaje Peperino Pómoro, la genial interpretación de un cura por Fabio Alberti.

Mientras comenzamos a reírnos de sólo acordarnos de personajes o sketches como Fatigatti o Telescuela técnica, revivimos uno de los pasajes más divertidos del ciclo, Batman en la convención del Mercosur.
