El pasado 6 de noviembre de 2009, apareció en el periódico La Razón una amplia entrevista realizada a la que es la imagen en España de Chamilia, Helen Swedin.

«No creo que sea para tanto lo de mi figura, aunque estar todo el día detrás de mis tres hijas ayuda a mantenerme en forma», aseguraba ayer la esposa del futbolista Luis Figo mientras mostraba algunas de las piezas de Chamilia, la firma de joyería para la que es imagen.
Así, entre abalorios inspirados en iPods, caballitos de mar y caracoles, Swedin se confiesa una «apasionada de las joyas, aunque no me hipotecaría por ellas». Tampoco vendería su alma por lograr la eterna juventud. «No hago sacrificios, pero sí intento cuidarme. Soy una persona sana tanto en mis hábitos como con la comida, creo que esas cosas a la larga ayudan», comenta la modelo, que además echa mano de las cremas limpiadoras para dar más lustre a su piel. De momento, no piensa ampliar la familia y se muestra más que orgullosa de Daniela, Martina y Stella. «No me preocupa no haber tenido un hijo varón. Nunca se sabe si nos animaremos a ser padres de nuevo, pero de momento estamos bien así».

Some of my favourite Chamilia Charms are the ones that are inlaid with Swarovski crystals.  These particular crystals are made in Austria, a type of lead crystal I believe. In any case they do look lovely, and complement the Chamilia charms really well.

I believe these crystals are featured in over 80 of the Chamilia charms so far, and they’re usually set in the silver beads.  A silver bead with a Swarovski crystal would set you back around $40, though of course the prices vary depending on how many crystals are used in the bead, and what the bead is made out of with silver naturally being much cheaper than gold. It also depends on the size of the crystal used too.

You can check out their selection of Swarovski crystal beads online, and see what I mean when I say they are pretty outstanding. I really like the little angel fish with its beaded eyes, and I adore the wine glass beads with either the red or the white crystals, very cute!

There are too many to list here, that is all the beads that have the Swarovski crystals included in them, but if you are interested most online jewelry stores that sell them will have them listed.

Dopo aver notato Pandora, il brand danese che per primo ha lanciato i bracciali componibili con charms fatti di perline in vetro, in argento o oro, ho visto che stanno spuntando rapidamente marchi simili. O li noto solo adesso, o solo adesso si stanno lanciando prepotentemente sul mercato comparendo sulle pagine delle riviste di moda, buffo che lo facciano tutti nello stesso momento.

Pandora è stato il primo, nato con questo tipo di accessori nel 1999, presente sul mercato dei gioielli dal 1982. Molto simile per concept e risultato estetico il marchio Chamilia, avviato nel 2002 da Killian Rieder e Jeff Julkowski. Non l’avevo mai visto prima, ma realizza accessori componibili sempre con perle di vetro colorate in argento o oro. La particolarità del prodotto, come si legge nel profilo della compagnia, sta nel fatto che sono i clienti a crearsi i propri gioielli, con i componenti del marchio. Ma non è che la cosa sia proprio unica, visto che a) l’idea fai-da-te è già stata avviata da altri brand famosi; b) Pandora fa da prima le stesse cose. Comunque il risultato è carino, come succede quando si usano perline con vetro di Murano, cristalli Swarovski ecc.

L’originalità sta semmai nella partnership che Chamilia ha avviato con la Disney, proponendo charms sì unici, con cui creare il proprio bracciale con la faccia di Topolino, di Topolina, di Winnie The Pooh, ecc. Ha inoltre ampliato la scelta dei bracciali di base e avviato cause buone, devolvendo percentuali di vendita in beneficenza (politica da grande corporate americana).
