10 serii… S-au terminat! Timp de vreo 2 luni am urmarit aproape zilnic povestea celor 6 prieteni (Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, Joey).

O sa imi lipseasca serialul, noroc ca il am pe dvd-uri si pot sa il revad oricad caci: “You can never have enough Friends!”.

People can see that the city of Chandler has amazing communities, and Cooper Commons is no exception. This community holds a lot of promises for those who are willing to give their houses a shot. So its vital for real estate developers to have their homes into perfection so these homes won’t be put to a waste.

How exactly would people scrutinize and judge the homes for sale in Cooper Commons? Well, that is up for them to decide. Since each individual has its own opinions and lifestyles, its up to them to form criticism about each of the homes within this area. Whatever they like it or not, the most important thing is that they have seen the homes and were honest about the outlook and the results of the builders’ hard work.

Tthis is probably his best under-the-dining-table look. Try resisting that.

He loves toys and is generally a pretty mellow dog when he knows his routines (he is not too crazy about new things, but learns to accept them), and he loves people. He’s relatively unsure around other dogs, but may do fine with other well-behaved dogs and may even warm up to them in time.

The other day I added a widget to my blog that contributes time and money to your cause of choice. The cause I chose to support is called Stand Up to Cancer. The organization is a new initiative created to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives. SU2C’s goal is to bring together the best and the brightest in the cancer community, encouraging collaboration instead of competition. By galvanizing the entertainment industry, SU2C creates awareness and builds broad public support for this effort. You can contribute to this effort by clicking on the icon under Social Vibe (located directly under my picture in the right hand column), and answering a few survey questions. Trust me it takes less than 2 minutes to answer the 6 questions they ask and it goes to a great cause. Chances are you know someone who has been affected by the disease so please give your time, and check out the Social Vibe site for more information on how to support a long list of other worthy charities.

So far today, interesting things have happened. Abridged version: I called the legal help hotline, t

So far today, interesting things have happened. Abridged version:

I called the legal help hotline, the IRS, and H&R Block, and discovered that if Preston files and claims Natalie first then my claim will be rejected and I have to write the IRS a letter and provide all kinds of documentation and get audited. Yes, eventually he will likely be convicted of tax fraud, but I will also likely miss the deadline to file my FAFSA, and then we’ve gone through all this for nothing, really.

I called the ex and offered the following leverage: Natalie is now (surprisingly) eligible for Medicaid again, and I will allow him to drop her from his insurance to save himself lots of money every month, and I will not refile my child support case in order to get more monthly support in lieu of that insurance. I will also not ask for the more money to which I am entitled because I now pay $120 a week child care, and when we went to court I wasn’t paying any because I worked at her day care (to give him a break because he was behind on bills, mind you). Furthermore, I informed him that I had talked to the IRS (man, I’m craving biscuits) and had an appointment with the office in Montgomery to bring my documents and alert them to his intention to file fraudulently. And I told him that if he went to school he could claim her every year he was in school, after this year. AND I agreed to give him half of my tax return from this year. So, he swore he would not attempt to claim her. I hope he keeps his word. It’s a pretty sucky compromise, but it’s worth it for me to finish school. I mean, on what planet is it in Natalie’s best interests to not let her mother complete her one final year of school? It will be hard to fit in all those hours to graduate within that year as a breastfeeding working mother, but if it doesn’t happen in that time frame, I’ll find other options.

Also, the legal help hotline told me that because there are no court documents regarding custody, we each have full legal and physical custody of Natalie. Which means that I don’t have to let him see her, and he doesn’t have to give her back when he has her. But if one of us takes the other to court and one parent is withholding the child from seeing the other, that does not look good. Because a court always says it’s in the best interests of the child to spend time with both parents except in extreme (abusive) circumstances. So withholding her is seen as bad parenting. So, I will let him see her, but less often.

The ex and I also discussed the fact that he should accept Chandler as a part of my life, so maybe things will get better on that front.

Today I also decided that I’m going to go to my old OB, at least initially, to discuss a VBAC. This way he has my records right there (and, he performed the surgery) and can more easily make a decision based on my circumstances. The main reason I’m seeing him is that there is at least a one-month wait to see the doctor I’d like to see. Her office claims to be supportive of VBACs, but I don’t want to wait that long to find out they may not be after all, and have to start all over at a different office. (All offices I called have at least a two week wait to see the doctor, and I have to make an appointment with the Gift of Life care coordinator at each office first, before I can make a doctor’s appointment! Ugh!) So I’ll get in to Dr. Newman relatively quickly (as a returning patient) and hear my options, and at least get an ultrasound. If he says no VBAC, then I’ll move on. So pray that the circumstances that led to a c-section last time are not the kind that disqualify me from having a VBAC. I love Dr. Newman, and I hope he will be compassionate.

That wasn’t very abridged, was it?

Also, bonus points! My mom bought Chandler and me tickets to the suckiest Alabama game of the year this weekend because I’ve been so stressed lately, and she or my dad will keep Natalie so Chandler and I can have some alone time! I don’t particularly give a shit about football this year (What the fuck, Auburn?!) but Chandler might enjoy it, even though the opponent is wimpy and the seats aren’t great. Besides, I’ve never ever been to a real football game, so I’m excited!

More problems with the jealous ex. He got Natalie today for her birthday party (I was thisclose to not letting her go). While Chandler and I were out looking at houses, I apparently missed a call from the ex. I called the house back multiple times and nobody answered. I knew something fishy was going on because I know my ex in laws are always home on Sundays and the only reason they wouldn’t answer is if they knew something they didn’t want to have to tell me. Like, my ex and my kid are gone.

So I called his cell phone, and the house again, a total of 10 or 11 times. Finally he calls me back from a landline I’ve never seen and tells me that the reason he called earlier was that Natalie had blood in her poop. I asked if he took her to the ER, and he said she was fine. (Then why call me?!) I asked where he was and he said his girlfriend’s house in Friendship. I’ve never even heard of this bitch, and I bet they’ve only been “dating” for a few weeks. And I bet she’s 19. He won’t tell me where they are when I insist I want to come pick Natalie up so I can take her to the ER (I don’t play with blood in poop, and since I didn’t see it, I can’t be too safe). He says he’ll call me when he gets home, in two hours.

Do you have any idea what it’s like to not know where your child is, not know if she’s safe, and not be able to come get her when you’re worried about her? I would not wish that panic and dread and helplessness on my worst enemy.

In case you were wondering, my ex is hopeless as a father. When we were together I had to teach him how to interact with her and provide her basic needs. He has no idea what to do with her, and I don’t trust him not to drink or smoke around her as far as I can throw him. And, like I said, I don’t know this bitch he’s with. But I do know that they apparently came to the conclusion that THE ONE GODDAMN DAY my ex has with his daughter is better spent with them together. So, worthless parenting, as far as I’m concerned. (She supposedly has a little boy that Natalie likes to play with. Call me crazy, but I don’t think it’s fair to involve a toddler in a short term relationship, especially when there’s a playmate involved that she can get attached to. She still never sees Chandler and me in any kind of interaction that is inappropriate.)

I call him another 2 or 3 times around the time he’s supposed to be home, and he says he’s changed his mind and I can’t have her. I told him I’d be there in 10. I called the Sheriff’s office and told them there’s no formal visitation papers, but I have a court order for child support from DHR that has me named as the custodial parent, but they say they can’t get involved. Luckily when I showed up, he handed her over (I guess so he could go back to his girlfriend). On my way out the door I informed him that we have plans next Sunday and he couldn’t have her.

Fuck him.

I’m going to try and get my shit together this week (I’m already gathering documents) to see a tax professional and figure out what to do about the tax fraud situation, and I want to find a way to talk to a judge (sure can’t afford no damn lawyer) and explain to him that I’m afraid next time he gets her I won’t get her back. I will get dirty if I have to and call his family out as a bunch of worthless drunks and drug addicts (they are). If Chandler and I have to get married now instead of waiting, so that we have a right to be together as a family while demanding my ex not parade his chick-magnet daughter around his flavor of the week, that’s what we will do.

For so long now, I’ve let him get away with doing things I said I’d never forgive him for. I’ve let him continue to see his daughter because a) I honestly don’t know if it’s legal to withhold her, and b) I feel like she deserves some time with him, and c) Chandler and I do need quality time together, if you get my drift. But he’s doing this on purpose now. He called to tell me my daughter had blood in her stool but that he was at his girlfriend’s house and he’d let me know when he felt like going home. YOU DO NOT FUCK WITH ME ABOUT THIS SHIT. He has sunk to a new low by using his daughter as a pawn to try to either “ruin my night out” (he doesn’t know I’m knocked up and can’t have any fun) or get my attention or scare the shit out of me or piss me off or something.

I have an advantage. I’m smart. He’s stupid. I will win this fight, but because I want what’s best for my daughter– a stable, safe family environment.

Important Information for Sellers of Vacant Homes Upon deciding that you are going to leave your hom

Important Information for Sellers of Vacant Homes

Upon deciding that you are going to leave your home vacant, there are certain things you must do in order to protect your investment, though you are walking away there are many things to consider including vacant home insurance while on the market. Vacant Home Rescue’s program provides a solution to all of your problems in leaving a home vacant. Not only is Vacant Home Rescue a 100% FREE service, but VHR will come in and do the much needed cleanup, carpet restoration, paint, missing appliances, and prepare the home for the market prior to providing a live in home guard. VHR deals in homes $40K and up unlike other luxury home “staging” or “hometending” companies. The main goal is to minimize risk for homes on the market, give them the full cleanup and repairs needed so the seller can obtain higher offers, and overall help to improve the entire real estate market in general.

The first step is to check your insurance coverage by calling the insurance company or talking to your insurance agent. Don’t assume your regular coverage will remain in effect, let them know you are hiring a home guard service for the home and it will not remain empty. This should keep your cost for the insurance the same.

If your agent says everything will be fine, ask him to give this to you in writing. Agents make mistakes all the time in this area. Even if you have known your agent for a long time, no good agent will ever be offended if you ask to get this in writing, thus protecting your largest investment from financial catastrophe.
Another good point when it comes to insurance is that our live in home guards provide their own insurance. This covers them for the value of the home, against property damage, slip and fall, fire, flood if in a flood zone, and more. The homeowner as well as Vacant Home Rescue is listed on the policy.
The home guard also pays all of the utilities and upkeep while the home is on the market, therefore providing the means for the home to be fully inspected upon sale.
The home guard is NOT a tenant and only needs 15-20 minute notice to show, in this time the home guard is preparing the home, turning on the music and ac, providing snacks and water for the buyers and making the home presentable. The home guard will then go for a walk.
The main reason it is wise to resort to using a vacant home care program is due to water. A washer hose break and leaky water pipes is a common claim when the owners are away, and a small claim very quickly turns into a large loss. Although turning off the water is an option, the home cannot be fully inspected by the new buyer without this on.

Not having vacant home care is potential for liability issues. A common liability claim occurs when a child wanders on a vacant property and is injured. The homeowners will almost always lose these cases in a court of law. It is a problem today because of the litigious society in which we live that vandals and squatters are taking over on these homes and nobody has any idea of what to do about it.

If you chose to leave the home vacant, and not use a company such as Vacant Home Rescue, we strongly advise that you work with a neighbor and family member to come by and inspect the property every so often while you are away. However, don’t think this will overcome our most important issue above, the need to contact your insurance company or agent, and the need to secure vacant homeowners insurance.

Another step you can do in order to ensure the home is better protected, lock the garage door. This is something almost no one does even when they are living in the home. Please make sure all windows are locked. If leaving in the winter, make sure the home stays heated at about 58 degrees or so depending on your region, so there is no chance any pipes could freeze. Make sure you hire a company that will clear the snow, the last thing you want is a solicitor slipping on ice while on your property.

Make sure the grass is cut and the property is maintained. Nothing will attract vandalism and theft like long uncut grass, and a pile of newspapers collecting in the driveway. This is a sure sign of the home being vacant. Also, the HOA fines will be enormous. If you hire a 100% FREE service such as Vacant Home Rescue, this to is taken care of for you. Again, a win-win situation.

Finally, pest control, it is no secret that no matter how clean your home is pest love vacant homes. Make sure there is no open food anywhere in the house that could attract bugs or other visitors. There is a product called Cedarcide and Home Defense, that create a barrier that bugs will not cross, so spraying it under every doorway and under the garage door is a very good idea. Again, if pest control is a problem, VHR will handle this for you. You do not want to come home to an insect infestation, and of course, this damage is not covered by homeowners insurance.

Chandler and I are planning on moving in together in January. We were planning this before he knocke

Chandler and I are planning on moving in together in January. We were planning this before he knocked me up.

Something you may not know about me: I am totally OCD and budget-obsessed when it comes to running a household.

Something you may not know about men: They’re not. At least not the ones I’ve ever dated.

Go with the flow… it’s a great manta, a great idea. But not for money. Oh, Chandler.

So, I’m budgeting. Please don’t make fun of it. We can’t afford much. I will only be working 3 days a week at minimum wage-ish. He is working 40 hours at minimum wage-ish (for now, and I’m not going to budget with some future income).

Our upper limit for rent is $500 a month. We will probably live in a cramped and outdated house. But we have to start somewhere, and we want to do it without begging family for money because we wanted a place beyond our means.

I have not included my truck payment or my child support income. This is because Chandler refuses for Preston’s money to be any part of our household income. Ideally, it would go into a savings account for Natalie, but we aren’t in that position. So Preston’s money pays my truck payment and insurance. Any leftovers will of course buy toys for Natalie. This may seem fucked up, but this means Chandler’s income will help pay for Natalie’s daycare, food, clothing, etc. I think it’s fair to spend Preston’s money separately, on a car he talked me into getting while we were still together, because it was “safe for Natalie.” I hope to get to the point soon where more of that money can go directly to Natalie, but Chandler insists on providing for her without Preston’s help. But the extra $400 a month on my bills (that really are separate from our household bills) can’t be done while I’m in school full time.

Because I will be working at Natalie’s day care, I get a 25% discount on the costs, and that will help alot. I am also applying for assistance from Family Guidance Center, and if I qualify I will certainly take advantage of whatever help they can provide.

I also plan on applying for food stamps and Section 8. I hate that I will be (hopefully) getting so much assistance. Trust me. I know there are thousands of people more deserving than we are. Some people have no family to help them. Some people have no car, no home, no resources to move up in life. I am in school and my family provides enormous support right now, but it’s important to me that we not ask them for money. And if I fit the guidelines for this assistance, I feel like I should take it because it was made for people with my circumstances. As soon as I get out of school, I will do everything I can to support myself without help from the government. I already feel like a worthless leech, so please don’t make me feel worse. I’m really sensitive about it. I promise I won’t take advantage of the system. I don’t want to be one of those people. I feel persistent guilt about having my second child, with a second father, on the government’s dime. I literally don’t know what else to do.

We will also not have cable, internet, or even a house phone. At the moment I am counting on my mother/Bill to continue allowing me to pay $9.99 a month to cover my line on their cell phone plan. And as far as I know, Chandler’s phone line will remain under his mother because she’d have to pay a fortune to cancel it. We are fortunate in that aspect, but will pay whatever we are asked to in order to continue this privilege.

Monthly Household Budget:

rent 500 Section 8?
daycare 360 after discount Family Guidance Center?
food 400 WIC? food stamps?
power 200 maximum conservation
C’s insurance 50
water 50
fuel 200 hopefully
savings 100

total 1860

That is $930 each monthly. For Chandler that means a consumption of $232.50 per week. Hope he doesn’t have any hobbies. I have figured I’ll be bringing home approximately $320 monthly, working 23 hours per week, if they let me work all the hours I’m available, which I’m sure they will, though nothing’s concrete yet. So that leaves me lacking $610 monthly contribution. I expect to get student loans/grants that will cover this discrepancy for the first six months or so, which coincides with something important that has slipped my mind at the moment. What was that? Oh yeah, BABYREESE being born. So right when I run out of money, we suddenly have another person to provide for and I can’t work. The best case scenario that I can think of is that I can work full time, immediately after babyreese is born, at the day care, in the infant room. So I can just wear my kid all day, breastfeed on demand, and watch other little babes. Problem: Add another $150 weekly of daycare costs.

I can’t fathom how we are going to survive after babyreese arrives. The only things that give me optimism are that Chandler might get a better paying job, we might get some relief from tax refunds, and we might save some of that budget money with government assistance and put it aside to help cover our bases (along with the savings money in the budget) when we become a family of four. This is bothering me significantly, and I’m trying to take Chandler’s advice of not worrying and trusting in the universe to show us the path that is best for our family, though it will likely be a difficult one.

We put ourselves in this situation, unintentionally, but it is our responsibility to make the best life possible for our children. Right now that means me finishing school (I’m a senior after spring!), us working hard to be in our own humble home, and showing our children that determination will carve our place out in the world. Those are not easy lessons to learn, especially for us in this surprise situation. We both had it pretty cushy before I got pregnant, in hindsight. We’re going to need a little help to get off the ground, but the hardships and assistance we have early on will make us that much more grateful when we can do it on our own.

I look forward to one day telling the grandkids, “When we were starting out, we had to get government money for insurance, food, and housing, but we worked hard, became independent, and look what we have now [insert sweeping gesture toward a large country estate here].”

Ugh, I hate thinking about this and trying to twist it into a good challenge instead of a daunting obstacle. I wish money didn’t matter. Oh wait, is that communist?

Happy Birthday Dear, Lorre! A close personal friend of mine, Ms. Lorreann Webley, has shown me a great amount of support over the past few years & I had to reciprocate some of the love she has shown me by raising a glass & tipping my hat to her today, on the 20th anniversary of her birth. I wish I could be there this weekend to celebrate with you & all my HU familia but (as long as there’s alcohol served at the party) I’ll be there in spirit. Have a happy birthday today & many more to come.

Okay, I’m really sick of looking up images of my baby’s development and being bombarded

Okay, I’m really sick of looking up images of my baby’s development and being bombarded with pictures of aborted baby pieces. I get it, you hate abortion, it kills these poor babies, but do I have to look at these pictures, as a pregnant woman? Really? I’m not going to post any of the nasty pictures here, but if you’re curious (which I might be if I weren’t pregnant and hadn’t been seeing them on a weekly basis now) just type in “10 weeks gestation” into Google image. About 1/3 of the images will be aborted fetus body parts. I imagine an image search of aborted babies would be even more gruesome. No, thank you. Anyway, here’s what babyreese looks like now:

And, this is just a fucking weird representation of a 10 week (supposedly) fetus:

(More freak show here )

Babyreese is barely the size of a kumquat and has now completed the most crucial part of her development. She’s swallowing fluids and kicking up a storm (yes she is!). Her head is half the total length of her body, and her limbs can bend. All of her vital organs are in place, and she’s beginning to make her own red blood cells. Her brain will make 25,000 new neurons every minute this week. That’s my girl.

You know you don't know what the hell a kumquat is.

My rollercoaster of emotions is “just beginning.” Oh, suck. Have I mentioned I cry almost every single day listening to stories about people (or even animals) I don’t know on NPR?

The fatigue is almost gone by now (except right after lunch time), and nausea is just a flash in the mornings. I still have headaches, but I’ve either gotten used to them or they’re easing up. The constipation is ridiculous and I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands rather than wait for the doctor. I think that may have been the cause of my “appendix/ovary” pain because when I got home… well, you don’t want to know the details but let’s just say the night involved grunting and bleeding. I’ve had a bipolar appetite. I hardly eat anything most days, but still look and feel like a big fat lazy cow by bedtime. Damn water retention. Other days I eat four pieces of pizza and a slice of pie for brunch. I’ve been really good so far about only eating when I’m hungry, which was a concept unheard of when I was pregnant with Natalie. My belly’s getting pretty round, and I’m trying to make that a happy thing. Sigh.

I have not yet truly gotten attached to babyreese the way I did early on with Natalie. I think it’s because when those lines showed up on the pregnancy test, I was excited, but then when I called Chandler his initial response was, “I can’t have a kid right now. I don’t care what you have to do, but I’m not having a kid.” We’ve also had some disagreements about what I expect out of him, but that’s understandable for a 22-year-old faced with a surprise pregnancy with a worrywart. I forgive him for his reaction, and he is completely thrilled now. Poor guy; he has no idea. Maybe it’s that I’ve done this before and the romanticism of being pregnant, giving birth, and caring for a newborn all flew out the window three years ago. For some reason I felt like this pregnancy was doomed, and even though I feel alot better now, I’m still not really what you’d call overjoyed. I’m hoping once I get Medicaid, talk to a good doctor, and really get to have a real ultrasound and hear the heartbeat, I’ll start feeling like a mommy to my belly bump.

In the meantime I’m taking damn good care of this fetus (which it technically won’t be until the end of this week). I’m drinking the shit out of water, taking in almost zero caffeine, and avoiding fast food like the plague. The only thing I feel is lacking is exercise. In the first few weeks, any long distance walking resulted in an increase in spotting. As soon as I get the go-ahead from the doctor, I plan on doing a ton of walking, and maybe even some light yoga.

I do feel babyreese moving for sure now, and anyone who doesn’t believe me can kiss my ass. It’s not often, like I thought it would be once I started feeling it. It’s barely a flutter, like I’m literally feeling the wave movement of the fluid in the amniotic sac as the baby wiggles around in there. I can’t wait until I/Chandler can feel it from the outside.

From a mental perspective, I’m a total control freak right now. I refuse to discuss politics because I get so angry that I want to cry. I left Chandler’s house yesterday because he kept talking about “Obamacare.” I got into an argument with a classmate about the legitimacy of flying a confederate flag (guess where I stand on that). I’ve also been itching to discuss the shooting at Ft. Hood, but need to keep my opinions about that to myself. And don’t even get me started on H1N1. I am always strongly opinionated about things like this, but I’m completely unflinching in these debates now. I don’t care who I offend, and I feel like it’s my personal mission to battle closed-mindedness, which I am exhibiting myself! I find myself daydreaming and getting mad about hypothetical situations that literally have NOTHING to do with me. Example: I decided local parking lot painting companies likely don’t have portfolios so that consumers can see their work and choose the most qualified company. I decided this was inexcusable, because they just expect you to trust them to do a good job, and since nobody has a portfolio you just have to choose randomly! (I know… What the fuck?) I am also pissed off lately because day cares don’t drug test. It’s silly, really. So do me a favor and please, please, please don’t invite me into a conversation about anything meaningful. I tend to lose my shit here lately, and want to control your mind apparently. I swear I’m not really like that.

I finally got my scale out of storage this weekend. This morning’s weight is 120 pounds. I figure I’ve gained between 3 and 5 pounds so far. I had just lost probably 10 pounds in the months before I got pregnant, which is why I had to get rid of all my new clothes– they were tight, and tight is not cutting it right now. At this point in my pregnancy with Natalie, I weighed about 109, but had gained about 10 pounds. I feel like hope my weight gain will be more controlled this time around.
