2011 is, for me, the year that filled up the gap between my years fantasizing on Plato’s Republic and my actual life in the Mainland China. In other words, i’m getting closer again to Demokracy…

I know, this is probably a stupid statement, but as you might have noticed already, it’s not what scares me the most. On the contrary. Anyway, my point is i’m really happy to, somehow, be a small acting part in Demokracy, not cos it’s the less worst political system, but cos it’s one of the most exciting project i got enrolled into for a while. Of course there’s Original Fools, consisting of 1/2 of Demokracy, but the other half stays a solid consultant no matter what, so the link is still true.

Thus, i was quite excited when i was asked to help write up some stories to illustrate Demokracy‘s tracks selection for HHV.DE webzine, since the usual comments or description for tracks are….well…let’s face it….boring. “I like that guy since blah blah” or “i always felt close to blah blah blah“… You know what i mean and maybe, like me, you feel nauseous and filled with human revulsions whenever you read the same sh*t everywhere online, from artists introducing themselves to fake 3rd person elegy to boring so-common statements about one’s “originality“. As i once wrote somewhere, “being original is like having stinky feet : only others can truly assert that.” Meanwhile, i’m working my humble little way to change habits and monosyllabic comments and get humans reacquainted with words and writing.

And that’s how a simple tracklist became an exercise and gave birth to ten “stories”, description or written action, to enhance the music selected by Demokracy. You can check the original post on the official website HERE – and if you do speak german, you can probably understand more than me, though Google Translate was invented for that situation – but in order to make it easier for you, i’m gonna post each track with a video link so you can hear it directly without having to look for them by yourselves, as i know you’re all lazy human basterds and wouldn’t probably do it otherwise !

So here it is, don’t be afraid, it’s not that long to read, not that hard neither, and it might even do you some good ! Big up for the HHV.DE editorial team who still allowed the whole texts to appear online. It wasn’t evident, but these guys seems like cool people already :p

As the case works its way through court, what do you do?

Charles Perez

If you’re Charles Perez, you come to Westport, get married, and go house-hunting.

This Sunday, Charles and his boyfriend — Miami accountant Keith Rinehard — will tie the knot.

“We just want to be normal people and not work in places where they say ‘Don’t have kids, don’t get married,’” Perez told the Miami Herald.

Tomorrow “we’re going to Westport, Conn.  Saturday we’re going house shopping.  And Sunday we’re getting married on the beach — in linen and flip-flops.”

Keith — a partner in a Miami accounting firm — will commute between Westport and Florida.  As for Charles:  We probably won’t see him replacing the legendary Tom Appleby at News 12 anytime soon.  But whatever he does, we hope he and his husband find a friendly, happy — and non-discriminatory — community here in Westport.

A lesbian couple organized a sit-in Wednesday after expulsion from a Maryland diner. The women say they were just holding each other at the family restaurant  Tastee Diner in Silverspring, but the female owner says they were touching each other inappropriately and that it does not matter if you are gay or straight. I dunno about this one, sit-in’s are fine if there is really something bad going on. But if they were really touching each other inappropriately then I think the restaurant was right. Hope we will find out the truth about what really happened here.

Charles Perez the fired Miami newsman that I reported about earlier, has won a 2-year restraining order against his ex-boyfriend Dennis Ricardo Pena. Pena an unemployed paralegal has 30 days to appeal. According to Perez, Pena was the one that sent all the private emails between Perez and his shrink to everyone in Perez’s electronic address book and he also physically threatened him and sexually assaulted him. Pena looks and seems like a nasty man!!!

I mean how gay is too gay for the public?  Was he walking around in a boa and ass-less chaps?  Who would see the ass-less chaps anyway?  He is behind a desk! Ha.  No, but let’s not be ridiculous here.  It’s the news!  How many ways can you gay that up?  Well, one of the theories is that it has nothing to do with his on-air appeal at all and stemmed from a private email one of Perez’s former boyfriends sent to his bosses.  Seems the sharp-as-nails bosses interpreted the email between Perez and his therapist as a desire to have a sex change operation.  

I feel like I grew up with Perez in a way.  In recent years, I have seen him take over for anchors on ABC New York-side.  I really remember Perez from way back on his Ricki Lake-esque talk show “The Charles Perez Show”.  But, even before that, I remember him on the first season of the “Real World”.  He had a brief-yet-memorable pairing with Norm, if you recall.  Remember when they went to the rally together and sat cuddling on the grassy knoll?  Back then, he was trying desperately to keep his sexuality a secret and I think that was what lead to the demise of his burgeoning relationship with Norm.  Norm cried and cried!  Awww!  

Anyway, Perez is suing and he has every right to.  I am so sick of the archaic!  Just let the man be and do his job!  I mean look at Sam Champion!  I am still not sure if he came out yet but, if you remember from another post, when you walk around the city in frayed cut off shorts and rollerblades, doesn’t leave very much to the imagination.  Maybe New York is just a bit more forward-thinking and forgiving (even the gays should be mad about the cutoff shorts)!

British professional boxer Rob Newbiggin says he was born intersexed and plans to transition to a woman and after that fight as woman professionally. He says he has high levels of oestrogen in his body but has more man characteristics. He started boxing because his step-dad wanted him to butch up. Of course it is fine that he wants to become a woman, but I think it would be unfair if he would actually compete at the ladies, he really really looks like a big manly man. This is totally different from tennis player Sarah Gronert who plays with the ladies but also really looks like a woman.

CHARLES PEREZ

Charles Perez is a newscaster for channel 10 in Miami. At least he was until today.

The openly gay Perez was fired just days after filing a sexual discrimination complaint against the station. Already there is speculation that Perez was fired by WPLG for being “too gay.” 

Not helping matters for Perez was a much-publicized domestic violence case involving his former boyfriend. Perez’ former lover allegedly leaked embarrassing personal e-mails where the news anchor wrote about his “gender identity” issues.

“His employment has been terminated,” Perez’s lawyer, Melanie E. Damian told The Miami Herald. “We filed a charge of discrimination last week. We will now amend that to include his termination as part of his claims.”

Perez said he had been terminated, but declined further comment until after he spoke with his agent.

Perez, who is openly gay, said in court papers filed last week that ABC 10 bosses demoted him “because of their discomfort over the increasingly high profile of my sexual orientation.”

He said that repeated clashes during performance evaluations with his news director, Bill Pohovey, revealed the station’s motives. Perez said Pohovey told him he was “too soft,” and sounded effeminate when gabbing with co-anchor Laurie Jennings. Another contributing factor that might have hastened tensions between Perez and the station was a leaked e-mail Perez wrote to his therapist, discussing sexual issues.

Pohovey said in a statement: “This is an outrageous accusation … as a gay man myself, I can safely say the Station does not discriminate against gay people. Charles’ claim that the Station discriminates against gay people is untrue and offensive.”
