Het was dan wel al een tijdje bekend dat Transformers uitgebracht zou worden in Imax bioscopen, maar vandaag is bekend gemaakt dat Mr. Bay de film ook deels met Imax camara’s schiet!
Dit betekent meer van geweldige beelden die we ook zagen bij The Dark Knight, waar ook sommige scenes geschoten zijn met Imax cams!
Dit is geweldig nieuws! Ik ben er 300% zeker bij de Nederlandse premiere op 25 juni 2009!!!

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 30, 2008 – IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX; TSX: IMX), DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures today announced that director Michael Bay will shoot key sequences of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with IMAX® cameras. Bay will integrate the IMAX footage with state of the art CGI to create an unprecedented look and feel for the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s box office hit, Transformers. As previously announced, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released to IMAX® theatres simultaneously with the movie’s wide release on June 26, 2009.

The movie sequences shot in traditional 35mm will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The IMAX DMR scenes will appear in the traditional “letterbox” shape, while scenes shot with IMAX’s cameras will expand vertically to fill the entire IMAX screen.

Wat hebben we geleerd?

Dus de Autobots gaan meer samenwerken met het leger…jeeeeeeehhh…. this sucks!, maar was te verwachten. Ik hoop alleen wel dat het rol van het leger op het niveau blijft van transport voor de niet-vliegende Autobots…

het rare is dat Transformers 2 dus meer “global” zal zijn. Oke dat zeg ik misschien verkeerd, is niet zo raar dat de Transformers over de hele wereld zijn maar meer dat Shia en zn taco meegaan…en hoe precies komen de Autobots in Egypte (waar ze zogenaamd zijn op set in de video)? Of zal Jetfire, de aangekondigde Autobot, ze rondvliegen? Is Jetfire (Skyfire) zo groot om iedereen te transporteren? Of helpt het leger? of zijn er niet eens Autobots daar op set en is het meer het leger, Shia en Megan Fox vs. Decepticons? Wild…

Maar hoe geweldig zal het zijn als die rondvliegende jets Starscream was met zn crew de “Seekers” oftewel Thundercracker en Skywarp etc.

Hier zijn wat fotos van de alt-modes van sommige Transformers op een vliegveldbasis in California…

De mysterieuze ice-cream truck…die naar zeggen kan opsplitsen in een autobot tweeling.

De Chevrolet Trax en Optimus Prime…het is nu dus duidelijk dat de Trax en waarscheinlijk de Chevy Beat samen op set zijn met de ice-cream truck. Zou het kunnen zijn dat mijn theorie over die drie auto’s niet klopt? Ik denk niet dat op een airbase de ice-cream truck autobot tweeling switchen naar de Chevy Beat en Trax. We zullen zien…

Ironhide die vervoerd wordt…ga er niet van uit dat dit een set is…ziet er ook niet uit…de autotjes worden waarschijnlijk gewoon naar sets ingevlogen…vooral aangezien de opening scene van TF2 in China zal zijn (zoals ik gehoord heb).
