So… Chief is known to get the munchies early in the morning. We all know WHY he gets the munch

So…

Chief is known to get the munchies early in the morning. We all know WHY he gets the munchies so lecturing him on laying off the chocolate or how diabetes runs in his family and his sugar is probably in the 40,000 range means nothing.

And because we all know why he gets the munchies, I told him that he had to keep his munchie-stash out of the kitchen. There is NO reasons for the kids to get the munchies other then their kids and munch. So if we want to prevent Spaz from getting so big that he can’t fit through the door, then the candy and the cookies and the mini pies can’t be in their reach.

So Chief keeps them in his night table drawer.

Yesterday, our really cool vendor that gives us really cool stuff at a really cool.. ridiculously low price delivered about four cases of Keebler Peanut Butter Chunk Chocolate Chip cookies.

I swear that Chief’s eyes rolled back into his head and his body quivered like a rookie actress in one of those low low low budgeted porno flicks. So I rolled my eyes “FINE” and grabbed a pack for home.

I smuggled them into the bedroom before the kids could see them and promptly forgot about them.

I’m not a cookie / cake / pie / ice cream person so once they left my hands they also left my conscienceness.

Fast forward to this morning.

Chief usually wakes up first :: rather, I usually kick him awake because he NEVER hears the alarm :: .. gets dressed.. takes the dogs out.. and promptly gives them a treat when they come back in.

Then he wakes me up.. leaves for work.. and I spend the next 20 minutes yelling at the dogs that are weaving themselves in and out of my legs that NO MORE! ALL GONE! GO LAY DOWN! JESUS CHRIST YOU ALREADY HAD A TREAT!

The funny thing is, Bella knows what the word “treat” is so when I say it, she tries to get up on her hind legs and dance in circles but she’s too fat and usually just tips over like a weeble.. all the while making this WHOO WHOO WHOO sound.

So the whole cycle starts all over again..

Anyway.. THIS morning, they kept on prancing around the night table. I didn’t think anything about it because in between yelling at them, I’m yelling at Bubba to get his ass out of bed and doing some serious clock watching.

He finally gets up .. I wake up Spaz.. We leave.. I return.. Walk into my bedroom and what do I find?

The night stand drawer is open.. the wrapper from the cookie package is shredded on the bedroom rug so it looked like a tinsel factory exploded and there’s and the empty plastic tray that USUALLY holds cookies is sticking out of the drawer.

Ernie, The Terrorist Puppy IMMEDIATELY dives under the bed for cover. Bella TRIES to do something but she’s too wide so she basically attempts to put the Sad-Dog face on and telepathically convince me that is was ALL ERNIE.. even though she had crumbs stuck to the fur under her chin.

So.. taking a deep breath.. I call Chief

ME: Hey.. um.. yknow those cookies I brought home last night?

CHIEF: Yea..

ME: You had them in your nightstand, didn’t you?

CHIEF: Whhhyyyy????

ME: You had them there, right?

CHIEF: Ok

ME: OMG! I’m not accusing you of anything I’m only asking if that’s where they were

CHIEF: Well, I don’t know.. I hate when you ask me questions that you already know the answers to because it’s like you’re going to holler at me or something

ME: I DO NOT!

CHIEF: Yes you do.. you get all like “Uh huh” “Uh huh” “yea, right”

ME: Tsk! Whatever.. that’s not the point.

CHIEF: Then what is the point? That I can’t keep stuff in my night table?

ME: THE DOGS GOT INTO YOUR NIGHT TABLE AND ATE ALL YOUR COOKIES

CHIEF: What?

ME: You didn’t hear me?

CHIEF: No. . I heard you but I had the drawer closed. They actually opened the drawer?

ME: Yep.. the knobs are loose

CHIEF: OMG.. they actually opened the drawer. It was Ernie, right? Ernie did it? I guess so because Bella’s teeth would probably fall out

ME: I doesn’t matter which one did it.. THEY ATE A WHOLE THING OF COOKIES

CHIEF: Um. It wasn’t a whole pack. We were up at 2:30 eating them.

ME: We?

CHIEF: Um.. yeeaaaa.. me and the dogs

ME: Oh my fucking God. You ate cookies WITH them.

CHIEF: So that would explain it…

ME: Well.. you can do all that explaining when you have to clean up all the diarrhea and vomit that’s sure to happen.

CHIEF: They’ll be fine

ME: Yeeaahhh… guess you forgot about the time they ate a whole case of Reese cups huh?

CHIEF: shit

ME: Exactly

This is really amazing no fair trial, no justice, baseless allegations on an innocent mother of 3 children two of which are still missing (if alive) and still they call their selves civilized fighting a so-called war against terror. The imperialists are real terrorists and hypocrites ruling the world with their power, brutal killings, economic exploitation and lies.

They Zionists/Neo-Cons don’t consider others as human beings , they are real fascists and modern face of Nazism.

Can Aafia get the share of civilization and system of justice she deserves? Is there any conscience left in our government which is busy in licking feet of their imperialist masters? Is there any Kerry-Lugar bill for Aafia? Is there any humanity left for an innocent lady who has suffered a lot for being a muslim women who loves her religion?

Dr Aafia to boycott trial

The Nation
NEW YORK – While a defiant Aafia Siddiqui declared that she would boycott her trial in January, a federal judge Thursday rejected her lawyers’ plea that she could not be tried in the United States as they pointed out that the Pakistani neuroscientist’s alleged crime took place outside the country. Ms Siddiqui, who was brought to New York in August 2008 from Afghanistan where prosecutors say she allegedly fired at US interrogators. No American was hit but she was shot in the abdomen and was charged with attempted murder and assault.
In a pre-trial hearing on Thursday, her lawyers, led by Charles Swift, argued that Dr Siddiqui could only be tried on terrorism charges in the US, and not on murder charges. In this regard, he quoted various international regulations.
But US District Judge Richard Berman ruled out the motion, saying that the US courts have jurisdiction if American citizens were subjected to attacks abroad, citing some precedents.
But Ms Siddiqui, who is languishing in a maximum security jail, interrupted her lawyers in US District Court in Manhattan to announce that she did not plan to participate in her trial, scheduled for Jan 19.
“I am boycotting this trial,” she declared. “I am innocent of all the charges and I can prove it, but I will not do it in this court.”
Since the very beginning, Ms Siddiqui has said that she has no confidence in the American judicial system or the lawyers appointed for her by the court – even those retained by the government of Pakistan – and that she wants to make peace and knows how to do it.
She has vigorously protested against what she called humiliating strip searches before she is brought to the court.
Judge Berman said that her trial would proceed after her lawyers and prosecutors visit Afghanistan to interview eyewitnesses to finalise their case.
Lawyers for Ms Siddiqui tried to convince the court that she was mentally incompetent to stand trial, citing in part her refusal to cooperate with lawyers and the reports of a psychologist who said she suffers from delusional disorder and depression.
Judge Berman rejected that argument after prosecutors pointed to psychological reports that concluded she was faking mental illness.
Berman on Thursday rejected defence arguments aimed at tossing out charges against Ms Siddiqui that carry a potential minimum prison sentence of 30 years and a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Before he ruled on the request, Dr Siddiqui said visits by her lawyers were “torture for me” and it was a waste of money for lawyers to go to Afghanistan to interview witnesses because she was not participating in the trial.
“I’m not dealing with them anymore,” Dr Siddiqui said of her lawyers. “They’re just people coming to my door and talking, talking, talking.”
During a break, Dr Siddiqui was led out of the courtroom by US marshals when she would not stop talking loudly. “Take me out,” she said. “I’m not coming back.”
She was not present when the judge made his decision.

Yknow… with all the safe guards that the schools and day cares and places like that want you t

Yknow… with all the safe guards that the schools and day cares and places like that want you to BELIEVE are in place to protect your child, get this.

NOTE: Steam is still coming out of my ears like a cartoon character and my face is redder then when I fell asleep in the sun one summer on the beach. Me and my non-olive tone skin!!

So I have a parent / teacher conference this morning for Spaz. He got his report card and he actually did pretty damn good. For him. Mostly B’s.. two C’s and one D in .. in.. Social Studies, I think.

I didn’t realize it when I was talking to his teacher because I was more focused on his grades and behavior but when I got home, I noticed that the address they had listed on his report card :: which is basically just a blue piece of paper :: was the Crack Whore’s.

Hm.

Now remember… Chief has FULL LEGAL CUSTODY. She had nothing. Not even visitation. Her visitation with them is up to HIS discretion.

So it kind of torqued me that she can walk into the school office and request his home address to be changed when the information cards I filled out at the beginning of the school year CLEARLY indicate that Chief is their legal guardian.

So .. all torqued.. I called the school and spoke to the secretary. She immediately became defensive and told me that that information was on the info cards.

Just as I was beginning to respond, Chief says something to me and I tell him about what the secretary is telling me along with .. very loudly.. HOW THE HELL CAN SHE JUST CHANGE AN ADDRESS WITHOUT THE SCHOOL CHECKING WITH YOU FIRST BECAUSE THAT HAS AAAALLLL KIND OF LEGAL RAMIFICATIONS?

The secretary caught my meaning and said that she would change the address immediately but would “… look into the situation”.

She calls me back a few minutes later :: real quick for the public school district we’re in :: and she tells me that she has the info cards in front of her and it CLEARLY has our address on it.

I know. My penmanship was at the hands of nuns wielding metal rulers. Duh!!

But she also said that the address had been changed at the Educational Services Center and their database is where the information is pulled when the report cards are printed.

Naturally wanting to rid her hands of me and not assume anymore responsibility, she FREELY gives up the name of the head honcho in charge of registration at the ECS.

Again, something that just ISNT done in our public school district.

Got that tiger by the tail now, dontcha Leese!

So I call her and get her voice mail and explain in a low.. firm.. what I thought was a non-threatening tone that WE. HAVE. AN. ISSUE. I explained about the address change and that she does not have any type of custody and that it needs to be changed back so call me back to tell me how that needs to happen.

I may have said “legal ramifications” again. It’s like the buzz word of the day!

So a few minutes later she calls me back with the ‘TOOD OF LIFE. I’m not just talking and attitude. I’m talking ‘TOOD! And asks me if there is a custody issue.

No, I tell her. No issue. She doesn’t have custody. At all.

She then tell me.. with the ‘TOOD OF LIFE :: which I’m starting to find really, really offensive :: that Chief will have to come into the office with the legal paperwork indicating that he has full custody before they will change the address.

Now I get the ‘TOOD OF LIFE and go into lawyer-mode.

“So basically,” I start in my best my best Perry Mason impersonation, “.. is that you need a legal document that clearly states custody before you can alter an address.”

“Yes”

“Uh-huh. Well then will you mind telling the court me what legal document you received from her when the address was changed?”

“She had paper work”

“Uh-huh. So you’re telling me that she had LEGAL DOCUMENTATION CLEARLY INDICATING CUSTODY”

“She had a copy of her lease.”

“Her LEASE! Ladies and gentleman of the jury, so you changed an address based on a lease from a NON CUSTODIAL parent but require the CUSTODIAL parent to present everything and anything before you can fix YOUR ERROR.”

And then Perry Mason ducked for cover under his wheelchair and my ghetto bitch came out.. so much so that I just handed the phone to Chief.

He had a completely different tone with her and obviously she had a different tone with him because yknow.. I’m just the step parent and who the hell am I to worry about the well being of the kids I’m raising.

So the bottom line is that the address was changed back and will NEVER EVER be changed again without a something in writing by him.

But I got to thinking.. yknow.. suppose there was a more serious issue at hand with the Crack Whore.. and the school, where you’re child is suppose to be safe is just changing information without referring to the information that THEY requested … an address isn’t only just an address. It’s proof that a child lives there so suppose this gets changed and then changed is used for something like kidnapping the child?

SEE! LOOK! HE/SHE LIVES WITH ME! IF THE SCHOOL HAS IT THEN IT MUST BE TRUE

Bizarro

Finally the ever awaited list of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is out which has names of

Finally the ever awaited list of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is out which has names of 8,041 beneficiaries out of which only 34 are politicians and rest are from bureaucracy , criminals, businessmen and other accused.

There is a huge demand from various corners of the society to take resignations voluntarily or in voluntarily from the people who benefited from this law and are still serving in the government.

The point of view of government as presented by federal minister for information and governor of Gilgit-Bultistan Qamar Zaman Kaira is that demanding resignations from NRO beneficiaries uncalled for. The reason he gives is one will have to differentiate between charges and crimes and that nothing has so far been proved against the NRO beneficiaries which on principle seems to be OK! But can the information minister inform us about the pending cases and trials of common people in courts who have to justify their innocence before law to get acquitted and if the NRO angels where innocent then why they took refuge in a dictator’s shelter of NRO.

The question here is of morality and social justice that why an elite group of people found it necessary to get a clearance certificate through a draconian law instead of facing the courts whereas a common man has to face years of trial to get justice.

Still no full list of beneficiaries and cases is provided to the people and media.

We also demand the list of people who got benefits from loan forgiveness or unfair settlements through corrupt political and banking practices.

PHNOM PENH, Nov 23, 2009 (AFP) – Lawyers for Khmer Rouge victims Monday accused the regime’s jailer of duping Cambodia’s war crimes court with “crocodile tears” as he faces final arguments over “Killing Fields” atrocities.

Former prison chief Kaing Guek Eav — better known as Duch — has apologised repeatedly for his role in the horrors of the hardline communist regime, which killed up to two million people three decades ago.

But civil lawyers representing 93 victims of the Tuol Sleng prison at the UN-backed court argued that Duch had failed to acknowledge the full extent of his guilt, as his trial entered its closing week.

Attorney Kong Pisey told judges that Duch had sought “to cleverly evade responsibility when it suits him” and wept “crocodile tears” in the dock.

“The cooperation with the court and his pretended truthful admissions is half-hearted,” Kong Pisey said, speaking through an official translator.

Duch, who wore a white turtleneck sweater as he watched Monday’s proceedings from the dock, is expected to apologise again this week as his defence bids to lessen his sentence.

Since his trial began in February, Duch, 67, has repeatedly asked for forgiveness for overseeing the murders of around 15,000 men, women and children at the S-21 or Tuol Sleng prison, a former high school.

He is charged with crimes against humanity, war crimes, torture and premeditated murder, and faces a maximum term of life in prison by the tribunal, which does not have the power to impose the death penalty.

A verdict is expected early next year.

Hundreds of Cambodians attended the specially built courtroom on the outskirts of Phnom Penh on Monday to watch Duch, who sat behind a huge bullet-proof screen to prevent possible revenge attacks.

This week’s proceedings will be broadcast live by all Cambodian television stations, court officials said.

So.. yea…

Before I go into the emails that I got from the Crack Whore, I have to fill you in on a few things regarding the kids.

Weed has completed the G.E.D course but needs $75 to register for the actual test. I told him last week that I would give him a money order for the amount next week when my unemployment check came in. He said that the Crack Whore told the judge :: his GED was court ordered.. or something like that :: that she would pay for the test but that wasn’t happening. Because, yknow, the windfall from her bogus lawsuit only lasted about 10 days. Damn that week spent in Atlantic City.

Bubba is back living with us and things didn’t get any better until Friday when I got an email from his teacher saying, basically, that he’s acting like an asshole.. not doing any work in school.. and she’s sick of it. He has now lost ALL liberties. He’s grounded.. the laptop was taken away.. he can only use the computer for school work (with supervision) .. no playstation.. AND I have the joy of picking him up from school everyday to keep him honest.

But on a good note, he isn’t acting up about it at all and has really been pretty good about it. Not that he has a choice, mind you, but I’ll give credit where credit is due and he isn’t acting all Eyeore-ish about it.

Spaz’s school pictures came in and I have a parent / teacher conference on Monday morning.

Okay.. so..

Considering ALL the drama that went on with Bubba and the Crack Whore last month, Chief asked me to email her about Bubba’s latest mis-adventures so that SHE would know what the dealio was and not believe Bubba and his violin playing. I also told her that I had school pictures for her.

Because, yknow.. I’m not that much of a bitch that I wouldn’t give her school pictures of her kid.

So I email her on Friday afternoon and didn’t hear anything from her until yesterday afternoon:

Hello Leese, I just want to take a minute to thank you for giving me the update on [Bubba's] progress.I really appreciate it………Thnaks for caring enough to share, also can’t wait to get school pictures .thank you sincerely for thinking of me when it comes to their school pictures and progess

,have a great day and thanks again

….hope you guys have a great thanksgiving, not sure what [Bubba] and [Spaz] are doing for thanksgiving but if you guys dont already have plans ill gladly take the to my moms for dinner.please let me know ,,,,,,thanks again ,,,,[The Crack Whore]

So I email her back and basically tell her the update on Bubba and that the kids were staying at Bird’s house for the weekend but I would ask them about them going with her on Thanksgiving. I also asked her if Weed ever got glasses because Chief had suggested we pay for him to get a pair for Christmas. I also mentioned that we were going to give him the money for his G.E.D.

This is the next email I got:

Leese ,hello again and thank you for responding about the boys 4 thanksgiving Their grandparents and i would love to spend the day of thanks with them…I’m excited i hope they want to come…..as for [Weed] yes i took him to the eye doctor he has 2 pairs of glasses he also got all his teeth done….i got him a play station 3 system well actually it was bought 4 all the boys as far as what to get [Weed] 4 Xmas i know he loves that 1 play station game that u guys have and play all the time i cant remember the name of it ill find out.I want to thank both of you for helping with the g.e.d money i got him through school ,pushed his ass through the classes but he did it I’m very proud of him …As soon as he has the money were able to schedule him for testing,i would ask that you or [Chief] inform me when u give him the money cause honestly i cant trust him he might just use it to party and i don’t want that.if you like u or [Chief] can give me a call and ill tell you the exact amount it is and you guys can put it in a money order and write it out immediately to the college this way he cant touch it.I’m not doubting [Weed] its just sometimes he puts partying before the important things .please keep this between us i would appreciate that.thanks again for thinking of me w/the school pictures and truly thankful for helping [Weed] with his school money.take care ,be safe and have a great holiday.sincerely [The Crack Whore].Leese i know you work very hard with my children and take very good care of them I also know how much you love them.Their very lucky and blessed to have you and I’m blessed to have my children around such a good woman ,THANK YOU.P.S sorry about the time on the email this is what time i get up for work

Ok.. “.. blessed to have my children around such a good woman”? There’s no way in HELL she wasn’t smoking, swallowing or inhaling something.
And what’s up with the whole “… get up for work”. Well, maybe trolling bars and finding men to pay her rent and cable bill is what she considers work. Not sure. But I guess it COULD be considering she had to do it every month.

Dunno.. and don’t know who long before the current mood wears off.

Funny thing though.. I didn’t tell Chief about the emails or what their content. I don’t know why, exactly. I do know that my still waters have been running deep and I haven’t had the right opportunity to to have a conversation about him about how I’ve been feeling about things going on and how I feel about them.

He tends to just ignore the obvious.. or doesn’t want to deal with the obvious. In fact, tonight when we were watching Dexter, there was a surprise ending that he had picked up on last week.

So after his AH! HA! I TOLD YOU!!! moment, I said to him:

How is it that you are so in tune to the random but oblivious to the obvious?

He was all like “… what do you mean?” .. and I was all “.. just what I said” and he was like, “Tell me! I’m scared…”

But deep down, I know.. it’s just getting HIM to admit it!

I was eating lunch with Reed and Pearson at the Acey-Duecy Club at the Naval Station on Treasure Island in the middle of San Francisco Bay. It was a Friday and I was attending an intensive and very long advanced electronics school. On Friday mornings we would take two exams. One was for the subject that had been taught during the mornings of the previous four days and the other was on the subject taught in the afternoon.

The TV was mounted on the wall and I happened to be facing it. The news flash was of the president being shot, which eventually morphed into the shot(s) being fatal.

I do not remember anything else specific about the rest of the day.

ISLAMABAD – List of beneficiaries of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) released by Ministry of Law and Justice on Saturday took the top politicians of the state to task and perceived them as black sheep of the society.
Some 34 politicians have been ranked first in the list of some 8,041 persons in terms of money, murders, attempted murders, balwa, embezzlement, corruption, malpractice, terrorism, kidnappings and other crimes of heinous nature. Keeping in view their massive embezzlements, these politicians seem to be heavy burden on the country that is already facing a severe financial crunch.
The Law Ministry for the first time has brought the big fish to surface by releasing the list of country’s most corrupt people. “The notorious guns of malpractice of these black sheep which left the poor at the mercy of God had been used as common practice against the innocents since decades,” NRO list observed.
The top beneficiary of NRO is Altaf Hussain whose 72 cases including 31 murder cases were dismissed. President Asif Ali Zardari had seven cases against him, while the number of Dr Farooq Sattar’s cases was 13. Most politicians had one to two cases against them. Madam Nusrat Bhutto, the spouse of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, also heads over thousands in the notorious list.
The MQM headed over other political parties whose workers hit the iron when it was hot. However, the PML-Q workers kept them away from that shoddy practice.
Addressing a press conference, Minister of State for Law & Justice Mohammad Afzal Sindhu on Saturday released the much-awaited list of the beneficiaries of NRO. The total number of NRO beneficiaries is 8,041 and 34 top politicians, 248 bureaucrats and three ambassadors are included in it, he told.
“Corruption, embezzlement and criminal cases dumped under NRO will likely to be reopened, as the goose of the said ordinance will be cooked on November 28, 2009,” he said. Many stalwarts of the country’s political arena will fight legal battle in the courts as the top court of the country terms NRO null ab initio, he explained.
Sindhu also announced a few important names in the list, which include President Asif Ali Zardari, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, Begam Nusrat Bhutto, Federal Ministers Ch. Ahmad Mukhtar, Rehman Malik, Dr. Farooq Sattar, and Babar Ghori, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, Jahangir Badr, Anwar Saifullah, Yousaf Talpur, Ch. Shaukat Ali, Haji Nawaz Khokhar (late), Agha Siraj Ahmad Durrani, Mir Baz Kithran, Mushtaq Awan, Sulman Farooqi, Hussain Haqqani, Wajid Sham-ul-Hassan, A.R. Siddiqui, Saleem Shahzad, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, Mian Mohammad Rasheed, Tariq Rasheed, Tariq Mahmood, Sardar Maqsood Leghari, Ghani-ur-Rehman, Javed Ahmed Qureshi, Brig. (Retd) Imtiaz, Brig. (Retd) Aslam Hayat, Safdar Barqi and Saeed Mehdi.

“Sindh is on the bottom line in the said list as some 7,793 people obtained relief under Article 2 of the NRO’s Review Board. The number of beneficiaries of the Review Board is 3,230,” he said.
He said that neither Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani nor his wife had taken benefit under the NRO. “Prime Minister Gilani had opted to face the courts in the cases filed against him and he has been cleared by the courts,” he argued.
The minister said that President Zardari had protection under the Article 248 of the Constitution and couldn’t be tried in any corruption or criminal case as far as he was the President of the state. “We will not protect anyone against the decision of the Supreme Court,” he maintained. The ruling PPP has taken decision that the judgement of superior judiciary would be accepted at all cost, he added.
Parrying a query when asked how much amount was involved in corruption cases abolished against beneficiaries of NRO, Sindhu said, “The demand was the list and it is produced before the media.”
Advocating NRO beneficiaries, he said most of the cases were political vendetta and had been lingering in the courts for 10 to 15 years. “PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has himself admitted that Ehtesab Bureau of Saifur Rehman had initiated political cases against PPP leaders,” he added. The PPP would have to give credibility to the chief of a major political party, he remarked.
The notorious NRO granted amnesty to politicians, political workers and bureaucrats who were accused of corruption, embezzlement, money laundering, murders and terrorism from 1st January 1986 to October 12, 1999, he emphasised.
The State Minister for Law said the myriad corruption cases had been pending since decades, adding only one case was decided and after that three judges had to resign.
Answering a query, he said NRO was brought in the Parliament at the direction of the Supreme Court and the verdicts of the higher judiciary would be respected in future as well.

Source: http://www.nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-daily-english-online/Lahore/22-Nov-2009/Wajih-asks-SC-to-act-against-NRO-beneficiaries

LAHORE – National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is against the fundamental rights and letter and spirit of the constitution. The Supreme Court should start proceedings against the corrupt bureaucrats and politician who benefited from the ordinance.
Judiciary till now is partially independent but it is hoped that it will assert its authority without bowing before any pressure.
Justice (r) Wajihuddin Ahmed said this while addressing a news conference at Lahore Press Club on Saturday.
He said it was expected that the judiciary would start proceedings at the earliest against those who looted the national wealth and got a clean chit from a military dictator under the NRO.
He opined that Feb 2008 general elections were not fully representative as lawyers, civil society and a number of political parties had boycotted the process and the nation was now expecting midterm elections.
“It is the responsibility of the Supreme Court to take up the petitions against the NRO beneficiaries on its expiry after Nov 28 deadline,” Wajih remarked, adding that it would be really difficult for the courts to open all the cases in absence of any proper prosecuting agency.
He maintained that the time had come for the emergence of alternate political leadership at the national level from amongst the leaders of lawyers’ movement and civil society.
About the immunity enjoyed by President Asif Ali Zardari, he opined that the constitution was like living organism while Article 248 being a its cancer body which give undue protection to the president and the governors. He demanded the apex court to abolish Article 248 from the Constitution as it was against the all the principles of justice and basic human rights.

Claiming that the lawyers’ movement is still alive, he said its next target was to ensure rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution while helping the judiciary in playing its role for providing of justice to the masses. He hoped that an alternate leadership would come forward from amongst the lawyers to fill the gap of political leadership at national level.
“Corruption is prevalent in lower judiciary as known means of income do not make with their (judicial officials) standard of living,” he said, adding that salary packages at the lower level should be increased.
Wajih was of the view that because of absence of any check clerical staff of sessions and civil courts received bribes openly.
He demanded amending the judicial policy and asked the higher judiciary to keep an eye on the state of affairs at the lower level.
He also suggested making the budget of judiciary independent just like the army in view of sensitive nature of its work and claimed that it improve judges’ stature in the eyes of the public.
Eid holidays
Punjab University will remain closed from Friday Nov 27 to Monday November 30, 2009 on account of Eid-ul-Azha.

I thoroughly understand how to do a Cost-Benefit analysis. While in the workplace I did dozens of formal Cost-Benefit Analysis’. Literally. And probably hundreds of them in an informal, “back of an envelope” way. When it comes to business decisions such as do I buy a truck with these features or those features and how much will I use each of the various features or do I even buy a truck or maybe the occasional rental is more cost saving.

That I understand and subscribe to.

But doing a cost-Benefit Analysis where human lifes are at stake is beyond the pale. All human life is precious and valuable. And to me it doesn’t matter if a certain non-invasive procedure will save one person out of every one thousand tested or if it will save only one out of every two thousand tested, let us do the procedure and have our health insurance pay for it.

It is a human life.

It is somebody’s mother.

It is somebody’s sister.

It is somebody’s daughter.

Compared to the agony endured if breast cancer is not discovered in time, mammography is inexpensive.

Ya see, there is no price that makes pain, suffering, anguish, or distress worth it.

How inhumane a country have we become?

CHICAGO – As the Obama administration considers a plan to move Guantanamo Bay detainees to prisons on U.S. soil, including possible sites in Illinois and Michigan, proponents and critics are spinning the facts.

The nearly vacant Thomson Correctional Center in the western Illinois farming town of Thomson is the latest potential candidate being evaluated to hold detainees after President Barack Obama promised to close the military-run detention center in Cuba.

Federal officials inspected Thomson on Monday after visiting another proposed site, a shuttered prison in the northeast Michigan town of Standish, in August.

Here is a look at some of claims about security, economic impact and prison visitors if Guantanamo Bay detainees are locked up in the U.S.

___

CLAIMS: Critics, including Republican U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk and several other Congress members from Illinois, contend moving Guantanamo prisoners there would make the state — with its signature Chicago skyscrapers — a terrorist target. Opponents in Michigan, including U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House intelligence committee, raised similar concerns.

FACTS: Convicted terrorists already are held in U.S. prisons. Federal Bureau of Prisons director Harley Lappin said more than 340 international and domestic terrorists currently are incarcerated.

Lappin said the bureau already works with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to assess threats.

Northwestern University law professor Joseph Margulies, who has represented detainees, agreed that moving them to a U.S. prison would not affect any risk of a terrorist attack. Chicago has been on guard against terrorism since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

In Michigan, Standish residents scoffed at the notion of their town, population 1,500, as a terrorist target. Residents of Thomson, a village of about 450 people, did too.

If Chicago is a terrorist target, they say, it’s because it’s a big city and not because detainees would be locked up in Illinois.

___

CLAIMS: Detainees moved from Guantanamo Bay would be able to recruit other inmates to terrorism if held in a U.S. prison.

FACTS: Detainees would be overseen by the military and would not mingle with other federal inmates, said Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Felicia Ponce.

If Thomson is chosen, the bureau would buy the prison and lease a “small” portion of it to the Department of Defense to house the detainees. The remainder would be operated as a high-security prison with between 1,500 and 1,600 inmates, Lappin said.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin has said there would be fewer than 100 detainees at Thomson. Lappin said Monday there would be a “limited” number of detainees and they would be in Department of Defense custody.

The Michigan prison, which closed Oct. 31 because of budget cuts, has a capacity of about 600.

___

CLAIMS: Federal prisoners are allowed visitors so al-Qaida followers and family members would visit detainees.

FACTS: The Department of Defense does not allow detainees to have visitors. Phil Carter, deputy assistant secretary of defense for detainee policy, said detainees’ only visitors at Guantanamo Bay are attorneys, the Red Cross and diplomatic and law enforcement personnel.

“They would not have friends and family coming to visit them here so that’s not a concern,” Carter said.

___

CLAIMS: Bringing Guantanamo detainees to Illinois or Michigan would bring jobs to small prison towns.

Durbin and Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn say selling the Thomson prison to the federal government would generate about 3,000 jobs both directly at the facility and indirectly in the community.

Supporters in Michigan said the prison complex there could employ 500 to 1,200, including guards and military officials, and create spinoff jobs for construction workers, contractors and others.

Opponents say the numbers are inflated.

FACTS: An economist says the reality is probably somewhere between predictions floated by supporters and critics.

University of Chicago economist Allen Sanderson said job creation numbers “tend to be gross overestimates.”

“You should take them with more than one grain of salt although it’s not recommended by a doctor,” Sanderson joked.

If Thomson is chosen, Lappin said the bureau of prisons would employ about 800 to 900 people, including 250 to 300 people moved in from other facilities to quickly get the prison up and running. Carter said the defense department would have as many as 1,500 military, civilian and contractor personnel there. The majority would be military.

In Michigan, critics argue that economic impact and job creation forecasts are debatable because, they say, detainees’ presence would scare tourists away from the rural community near Lake Huron.

___

Associated Press Writer John Flesher in Traverse City, Mich., contributed to this report.

I think that it is important to eliminate the hysterics and politics, as best possible, from any discussion. Do we need jobs? Yes. Will any Gitmo transferred detainees mix with other BOP prisoners? No. Can so-called “terrorists” be safely held in a US correctional facility? BOP currently is housing about 350 of them.

Other than political posturing, what is the problem?

Okay.. Heh… I actually debated whether I would tell this or not. Only two people know about it

Okay..

Heh…

I actually debated whether I would tell this or not. Only two people know about it and it reveals something about me that only really Chief knows.

But it’s waaaaaaayy funny so I figured what the hell.

NOTE: This is going to contain adult content so if your underage OR have take offense to anything containing adult content STOP READING RIGHT NOW

Alright… let me get a sip of coffee here.

So I’ve never been a “frigid” kind of gal … I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m a freak that has some slack in her leash.

The Spawn from Satan’s Ass was strictly a pump-pump-release missionary guy so yknow… sex was kind of boring for 18 years. Well, replace “kinda” with REALLY.

So when I met Chief.. I was in this whole FREE TO BE ME mentality. Inevitably with adults, the whole sex conversation came up. I can remember if I asked him what his fantasy was or if he volunteered the information.. although I can’t actually imagine a guy being dumb enough to OFFER this up to a women that he really didn’t know yet but that’s beside the point.

He tells me that his fantasy has always been to be with two woman at the same time. Real original there Chief!!

And I respond that since I’m more into lesbian porn the regular porn :: I thought I heard the boner pop up over the phone with that statement :: and that I have this little bi-curiousity vein running through me I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility.

I think that’s when he asked me to marry him right then. LOL.

Anyway… a month or so into dating, his birthday was coming up and I was struggling to figure out what to get him. You know the whole new relationship – big impact gift. And the thought hit me that making his fantasy come true was an AWESOME gift.

So I call my friend Biker Boy Bob who’s all into glory holes and swinging because if ANYBODY would know how to set this up, it would be him. The problem is that I used to date Biker Boy Bob and the reason why we stopped dating was because of the whole glory hole and swinging thing.

I know, I’m a study in contradictions… right?

Anyway.. Biker Boy Bob was ALL into helping me except HE wanted to be involved. Um.. NO.. that would make it an ORGY and this gal just doesn’t do ORGIES ..

He tells me that orgies are like having multiple pets. Once you go past two, it really doesn’t matter.

Um.. yyyyeeeeaaaaaaa…. ok.

So Biker Boy Bob gets a knickers in a twist and won’t help me.

FINE!! I have the internet!!!

So I go online and start popping in and out of different forums and the one thing that kept coming up is the whole mental part of it. What seems like a good idea can turn emotionally disastrous for the woman who wasn’t the second woman.. in other words, the wife.. girlfriend.. ect.

And even though I’m really not a jealous person.. I do have self esteem issues and body issues and issues that every other normal woman has. Well.. normal like me at least.

But none of that mattered because.. honestly? It was too new of a relationship to have any type of those deep seated emotional ties. You know what I’m saying, right? I mean … yeah, I really really dug him but that whole OMG I CANT WAIT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH YOU AND YOUR MORONIC KIDS AND CRACK WHORE EX WIFE feeling hadn’t started to tingle yet.

So, to me, it really didn’t matter. I wanted to have the experience and if it turned out that he was more into the OTHER woman after then so what. I knew that if that DID happen, I would be crushed and hurt and all that other stuff but I also knew I’d get over it and move on.

Alright.. so the more I looked online the more safety became an issue. Because, lets face it, there are A LOT of skanks on the internet. And the one thing I didn’t want to take away from the experience was an STD.

Going along with the whole “… you get what you pay for” philosophy, I figured that my health was worth paying for. So I dug into the local yellow pages :: I’m thisclose to a large, urban city so finding a (( cough cough )) service wasn’t going to be difficult :: and found exactly what I was looking for.

Big Ads = Expensive Ads = as reputable a bordello as you can legally get away with!!

So I call the number and this woman answers. I tell her that it’s my boyfriend’s birthday and I would like to gift him with a night “out on the town” but wanted to have some “company” just in case.. yknow.. we ran out of things to talk about.

The woman definitely caught the WINK WINK … but really, ANYBODY would have caught on. Cause, yknow, the more you try to hide something the more apparent it is!!!!

WOMAN: Well, I have three girls available that night but I don’t think Diamond and Crystal :: I swear! :: are what you’re looking for. I think (P)Earl would fit your needs.

ME: Ok.. it has to be a female.

WOMAN: Yes, I know.

ME: UM.. Ok.. no. I mean it has to be a “female” female.

WOMAN: Yes, I understand that.

ME: Ok.. (giggle) Look, I never did this before so I’m not sure I’m saying the right thing.

WOMAN: (laughs) No, I understand exactly what you need.

ME: Ahhh. So… why exactly can’t I hire Diamond or Crystal?

WOMAN: Their availablity is limited time wise.

ME: Uh-huh. Ok. But.. um.. see.. I just know……

WOMAN: You won’t be disappointed with (P)Earl

ME: Well.. I’m sure Earl is very nice and all but I’m sure my boyfriend will NOT appreciate a girl who really isn’t a girl.

WOMAN: (soooo confused) What?

ME: My boyfriend isn’t going to go for a transvestite.

WOMAN: WHAT?

ME: I said…

WOMAN: No.. no.. I HEARD what you said. (P)Earl isn’t a transvestite. What are you talking about???

ME: OMG.. I’m sorry! I thought that’s what you called them.

WOMAN: Call WHO?

ME: People like Earl.

WOMAN: What???????

ME: You know…

WOMAN: Obviously, I don’t know.

ME: Guys dressing like girls… Chicks with dicks???

WOMAN: (obviously annoyed) What??? Is this a joke?

ME: No! No! It’s not a joke.. Listen, all I’m trying to do is get a girl for my boyfriend’s birthday. Not someone like Earl.

WOMAN: (P)Earl is a girl…

ME: (defensive and really getting pissed off) THEN WHY IS HIS NAME EARL??

WOMAN: (Waaaaay more pissed off then I am now) PEARL!!! PEARL!!! HER NAME IS PEARL!!! NOT EARL!! I think you need to call another service.

ME: oh.

And then she hung up on me.

I swear to God that whole time I thought she was saying Earl and I remember thinking that she had misunderstood what I was looking for. I guess I hear with a lisp, I don’t know… but after the phone call I got HYSTERICAL … because yknow… if this was going to happen, OF COURSE it would happen to me!!!!

I immediately called Chief and told him the conversation. It was just too damn funny to keep to myself. He laughed just as hard but then turned all serious on me.

CHIEF: I appreciate you wanting to do that and all…

ME: Why do I hear a “but” coming

CHIEF: Well, it’s just that I don’t think our relationship would stand it

ME: Huh?

CHIEF: I’m just saying that maybe it isn’t such a good idea

ME: I’m not catching what your saying

CHIEF: Look.. It’s just that.. yknow.. I love the fact that you would want to do this for me but let’s just leave the fantasy the fantasy, ok?

And then I got it. His feelings were deeper for me then mine were for him at that point in our relationship. The emotional feelings I had read about on the internet applied to him more then they would have applied to me then. And I also thought that having a fantasy and going through with the fantasy are two very different things and maybe he wasn’t as confident as he had first made himself out to be.

Dunno..

Just something else to put in my “… me and Dick Tracy” box!!! LOL

Is he planning to become the chief strategist for the LTTE??….

I find it ridiculous, that politicians in India involve themselves with issues abroad, especially when they have their hands full with issues of our own.

Also worthwhile is to note that the Maoists in India are considered “terrorist” while the LTTE is empathized with. Isn’t that hypocrisy???

Ernie, The Terrorist Puppy

You remember Ernie, right?

Ernie, The Terrorist Puppy???

Come on.. you know you do!

How could you not?

JUST LOOOOOOK AT THAT FACE!!!

Bleck!

Okay.. so last night I couldn’t sleep. Not at all. So about 1am, Bravo was showing Tabatha’s Salon Take Over and I’m all about the platinum haired, English bitch of all bitches going into hair salons and giving them a piece of her English bitch of all bitches mind.

Problem is.. if it isn’t on the History Channel or Syfy or has ANYTHING to do with aliens, Nostradameous or the end of the world.. Chief hate it and makes watching it so freakin’ miserable because he’ll make fun of everything while the shows on.

It’s one of things that you either conform around or break up about.

I’m not going to be the girl who breaks up a relationship over Tabatha’s Take Over Salon so I figured I would just go into the living room to watch it.

Because.. YOU KNOW!!!!.. no matter how hard he’s snoring he’s going to wake up the minute I put something he doesn’t like on television.

So I go out into the living.. get all settled in with my blanket and coffee and ashtray and start watching.

About 10 minutes go by and Ernie the Terrorist Puppy jumps on the “L” part of the sectional sofa and drops something from his mouth that falls right between the pillows.

Then he starts picking at it.

I look a little closer and OH MY FUCKING GOD it’s a mouse.

Jesus God in Heaven there’s a dead mouse stuck between the pillows ON MY COUCH and the damn dog is picking at it!!!

Now… as disgusted as I was, there is NO WAY in God’s green earth that I’m going to pick it up and dispose of it. No amount of paper towels is NOT going to let me feel it.

So I go into the bedroom and gently wake Chief up:

ME: Hon?………. Hon?……… Hey Babe?…………… Chief?…………… Hey Sweetheart?………….. Cheeeeeeeeeee-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeffffff?? ……… Honey? …… Hey, hon?????…… OMG WOULD YOU JUST WAKE THE FUCK UP??????

CHIEF: huh? wha? huh?

ME: Hey.. I’m sorry to wake you up but can you do me a favor?

CHIEF: huh?

ME: Yea. .um.. there’s a dead mouse on the couch. Could you get rid of it for me?

CHIEF: what?

ME: There. Is. A. Dead. Mouse. ON. Our. Couch. Can. YOU. Get. Rid. Of. It?

CHIEF: ok. ok. I’ll get it.

ME: omg, thank you! I’m so sorry to wake you up.

CHIEF: ’so kay

So I move away from the bed and then he starts to get up and then he rolls over and goes right back to sleep.

Are you FUCKING kidding me?

I go out into the dining room getting really, really PISSED OFF that he didn’t just jump out of bed and get rid of the mouse RIGHT THE HELL AWAY like I would have it he woke me up to pick up a dead mouse of the couch.

NOTE: And before y’all poo-poo that, let me tell you that he HAS woken me up in the middle of the night to kill a spider. So his spider is my mouse, okay?

So half my brain is really pissed and the other half of my brain is trying to figure out a way to be brave enough to do it my self and the other half of my brain is saying “… just go wake up Spaz. He’ll do it.”

Wait…

Half.. Half.. Half… Oh! Sorry. Not “half” of my brain… I meant the VOICES in my brain!! LOL

I was just about to get Spaz when Chief stirred and Mummy-walked out into the living room.. all wearing nothing but jersey knit shorts.

So he asks me where it’s at and I point to it and he tells me to get some toilet paper. Which was so unbelievable handy that when I handed it to him, he looked at me like I had some kind of HERO type powers of light and speed.

He turns on the living room light and goes over to the couch and says:

CHIEF: That’s not a mouse

ME: Of course it is

CHIEF: No. It isn’t.

ME: Then what the hell is it?

CHIEF: It’s dog shit.

ME: THERE’S DOG SHIT ON MY FUCKING COUCH?????????

CHIEF: Yep. Dog shit.

There are things worse then a dead mouse on my couch.. and dog shit would be one of them.

I start ranting and raving about where he could have POSSIBLY gotten dog shit because I had cleaned and scrubbed the basement and front porch earlier.. they can’t get upstairs anymore and there was nothing laying around anywhere else.

CHIEF: You may not want to hear this….

ME: It gets worse?

CHIEF: Um. yeah. Well.. the GOOD news is that you won’t have to worry about staining or smelling..

ME: …. and this would be beeeccccaaaauuuussseeeee?????

CHIEF: It’s.. um… stale?

ME: STALE?

CHIEF: Yea.. as in old.

ME: As in….?????

CHIEF: As in Ernie is a hoarder. He hoards poop. Obviously he has a stash of it somewhere in case he wants a midnight snack or something because this right here? Yea.. not fresh at all.

ME: OMG.. my dog hoards poop.

CHIEF: Call “INTERVENTION”. He needs rehab and we can’t afford it. The show will pay for it!

ME: Asshole

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K. Radhakrishnan has said that the exploration of Mars will take a tangible shape by the year 2030. He called it the “next logical frontier in space” after Chandrayaan II, which will be put in place by 2013 with robots and rovers to study the surface of the moon.

Speaking after receiving the prestigious ‘Dr. Y. Nayudamma memorial gold medal’ at the 2nd AP Science Congress, conducted jointly by the Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences and Sri Venkateswara University here on Saturday, Dr. Radhakrishnan spoke of ISRO’s latest initiative on interplanetary exploration and the study on ensuring human presence in solar system. A habitat would be developed on the Moon to function as an ‘intermediary point’ to study more and more on the planets beyond. Admitting that it was a challenging and daunting task, he observed that the whole world would be looking eagerly at the ambitious project.

ISRO was now keen on taking a giant step in meeting specific objectives by developing and launching mini and nano-satellites, weighing a mere 1 to 6 kg, he added.

Strong Currents Last night I felt strong currents coming in from youth camp at Clarendon College, ou

Strong Currents

Last night I felt strong currents coming in from youth camp at Clarendon College, our smiling black dog and my free flowing hair. They were so powerful that I had to open my eyes and rise. I walked over to the rear balcony and acknowledged my God who was shining through the skies with an unbearable light. I breathed while I counted the mountain ranges and their shadows watching over the city and my life.

“Honey, do you know what I am going through at this time? Do you really understand?”

My husband realized that I was asking a very serious question.

“Do you know what I am experiencing with this writing?”

“I know you enjoy it immensely.”

“Oh, My God! Can you imagine what Ellen, Marcus and Martin went through?”

“Yes, she was inspired…telling us about health and where to build our colleges and our universities…it was divine intervention…You, where you are coming from and how you want to help these boys…it must be divine.”

“Oh, for you to say that to me…I know that you understand what I am going through.”

“The mornings are perfect here. Listen to the birds my dear. Listen to them sing because they will be quiet later on today. Why is that so? Why are they so chirpy now?”

“The early birds are out to catch the worms that came out last night; the worms are their food.”

As I listened to my husband I felt his father’s strong energy. His presence was in the room along with all the other men and I was energized.

I pause now to acknowledge all of my mute readers. You know yourselves.

My Mute Readers (inspired by a quiet rural mother).

I am a church sister who reads your blog everyday

I do not comment but I always pray

I am your loving sister far away in Asia

I admire your hair; please keep the flavour.

I am a teacher who reads your blog, everyone

And wonder how the IT parts are done

I would love to use this talent of mine

But I do not know where to turn or how to climb

I am a new mother who reads you blog but not everyday

Sometimes I fall behind with work and stray

Things are very busy at home now for sure

With four seeds in my home to nurture

I am a writer who just love to read your blog alone

I had to tell you last week how I felt after reading ”Teeth and Bones”

Your strong themes have inspired me to write again

I will try to find a focus here in my home and the rain

I am your buddy reading your blog in a strange land

I just had to let you know that I moved as planned

And how intrigued I am with Jamaica’s glow

Your journey so far and now this boy, Antonio

I am reading your blog while in the kitchen I stand

I told her and she told you about my undivided attention

I have been listening and reading ever since Stony Hill

Indeed, I am also upset about Armadale; the silent pill

I am the quiet rural one who reads your blog

The story of the yellow yam and the dog

Was told to my teenage daughter word for word

My extended family and friends have also heard

I am the Chief who reads your blog despite all the noise

I am here thinking about my priorities and my choice

I liked the story about Tracks getting out of the rut

And how you forgot about your son’s haircut

I am a preacher who reads your blog and watch your cues

I want to tell you that I respect your controversial views

While I do not always agree with your commentary

I wish you the best in your ongoing ministry

I am your best friend who reads your blog while I work

Convinced that you have found your calling on earth

I am praying hard that God will answer this week

So that you can continue on this journey meek

I am a counselor who reads your blog while I prepare

But I will never comment with this left hand for them to hear

My wife reads them too and we both admire you

That’s why I bow like a gentleman the way I do

I am a son who reads your blog like that

I never comment on your posts but I will “chat”

I see all that is happening out here from above

So I want to let you know that I feel your love.
