Mitt nyårslöfte är att bli förälskad. Då när allt som händer i livet är kantat av ett rosaskimrande ljus. Som Linn ville skriva på vårt fältarbete (ett annat hade exakt samma rubrik som vårt) – Lite finare, lite bättre!

Nåväl, idag har jag lyckats ta mig upp tidigt för att göra en seminarieuppgift, träna och åka in till stan för seminariet. Ikväll ska jag piska mig själv så jag är klar med plugget till 20.00, då är det “Bonne” (Bonde söker fru) hos Nathalie. Gillar våra spontana vardagstv-kvällar!

En annan sak vi har utvecklat den senaste veckan är en milstolpe i vår gemensamma humor. MMS-humorn är född! Går ut på att vi under tiden vi gör en intern (och väldigt osmickrande) min fotograferar oss med mobilen i olika vardagssituationer. Därefter skriver vi en text “Hon vilar”, “Hon cyklar till bussen”, “Hon vill vara cool”, vad som än passar till bilden och skickar. Låter jättetöntigt och barnsligt, och det är det också. Men framförallt – sjukt kul!

Maxinquaye is the debut album of Tricky, released in 1995. Expanding on the sonic template of fellow Bristolians Massive Attack, and featuring then-girlfriend Martina Topley-Bird on vocals, Maxinquaye is a dark, mysterious album featuring a combination of hip-hop, soul, dub, rock and electronica. The album was later released in America and received great critical acclaim.The album is named after Tricky’s late mother Maxine Quaye. The album is to be re-issued in the UK on 2nd November 2009 by Universal Island with a second disc of remixes as the Deluxe Edition. Deluxe Edition 25-track digitally remastered 2-CD album set – Originally released in 1995, Tricky’s seminal debut album now comes complete with a Bonus 13-track CD featuring B-sides, out-takes and 7 previously unreleased mixes including 3 new 2009 mixes of ‘Overcome’, ‘Hell Is Round The Corner’ and ‘Black Steel’

“Dubái” no tiene ningún significado en árabe, pero en hindi significa “Dos Hermanos” en idioma árabe: دبيّ) es uno de los siete emiratos que integran desde 1971 los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Posee 4.114 km² y su población asciende a 2.262.000 habitantes (2008).

La ciudad de Dubái es famosa por sus cientos de atracciones turísticas y su gran zona de rascacielos, entre ellos el Burj Dubai, y bloques de edificios en Sheikh Zayed Road, situada en el distrito financiero de Dubái.

Se ha convertido en una puerta muy importante para Occidente que entre otras ventajas constituye un centro financiero de envergadura mundial.

Dentro de los grandes proyectos de urbanización y de turismo, así como de vivienda de lujo, se encuentran las Islas Palm, con tres diferentes ambientes; en Palma Jumeirah, que es el primero de los proyectos; en Palma Jebel Ali, que es el segundo (50% más grande) y Palma Deira, tres veces mayor que el primero.

Asimismo,circundando la palmera Jebel Ali se encuentra el desarrollo del Waterfront que con su forma de media luna abarca todo el lado izquierdo de la segunda palmera y el territorio costero occidental a esta sirviendo de puerto de entrada al Arabian canal que consiste en una red de canales que conectaran a desarrollos interiores en pleno desierto replicando el éxito del antiguo Creek, otro mega projecto es The World, compuesto por 300 islas artificiales de arena, que serán ocupadas por residencias, centros comerciales y por hoteles de cinco estrellas.

Dubái es gobernado por Su Majestad el Sheikh (emir) Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. El soberano es además Vicepresidente y Primer Ministro de los EAU y gobernador de Dubái. Está casado con la Princesa Haya bint Al-Hussein, hija del rey Hussein de Jordonia y hermana del actual rey de Jordania Adbullah II.

Demografia

Dubái es inusual en cuanto a su población, ya que se compone principalmente de extranjeros mientras que los emiratís de los EAU constituyen una minoría. La mayor parte de estos extranjeros proceden del Sur de Asia y del sureste asiático. Una cuarta parte de la población afirma proceder de la vecina Irán.

Dubái es también lugar de residencia para aproximadamente 120.000 británicos, 2000 españoles, 1500 franceses y demás occidentales. El gobierno de los EAU no permite ninguna clase de nacionalización o residencia permanente para los allí extranjeros. No obstante, los extranjeros sí pueden adquirir y poseer propiedades sin un socio local o patrocinador y así obtienen residencia permanente.

Idioma y religion

El idioma oficial es el árabe pero también se hablan el inglés, el alemán, hindi/urdu, malayalam, el tamil, persa y el tagalo. La religión mayoritaria de los emiratís es el Islam, con una amplia mayoría de sunníes y una minoría chiíta digna de mención. Muchos de los extranjeros son de confesión hindú, sikh y cristiana. Dubái es el único emirato que cuenta con templo hindú y con Gurdwara Sikh.

Dubái antes era conocida como una ciudad de los Emiratos Arabes pero en 1982 se independiza y actualmete sigue creciendo económicamente gracias al Petroleo. A principios de 2001, se dio un paso vanguardista con la construcción de varias iglesias más en una parcela de terreno de Jebel Ali donada por el gobierno de Dubái a cuatro congregaciones protestantes y una congregación católico romana.

El apoyo financiero a los grupos no musulmanes por parte del gobierno de Dubái es en forma de terrenos donados para la construcción de iglesias y otras instalaciones religiosas, incluidos cementerios. Les está permitido recaudar fondos entre sus feligreses y recibir apoyo económico del extranjero. Las iglesias cristianas pueden anunciar abiertamente sus servicios litúrgicos, pero no está permitido utilizar campanas para ningún anuncio.

“Tempomat” (the German word for cruise control) is the name of the long expected second production of MOCA. 12 tracks settled somewhere between Downbeat, NuJazz, Electro and Pop beyond all cliche, but always groovy and danceable.
