I had two nightmares last night, I think thats what I’m gonna blame all this shit on. the first was, i was mega huge ass saggy man boobs fat. it was horrible, i didnt even have a chin. bleh. nad the second was I was being chased through a field by a flying sheet that kept sing ”baa baa fat kid, I will eats you  now!”

So I didnt exactly sleep very well. :’(

Pakistan’s defense budget always revolve around army because of their influence on political governments and their active or not so good role in politics but luckily our air force has kept it’s professionalism despite the efforts by Ayub Khan who tried to involve Air Marshal Asghar Khan in politics, Yahya Khan ,Zia and Musharraf  tried the same thing but the standards set by Air Marshal Noor Khan and Asghar Khan kept them professional and up to the task to defend the nation and not to take part in country politics.

We need to focus on building a real smart air force which has always out performed our politically corrupt army in situations of war.

JF-17 Thunder air craft is a good step towards strengthening our air space despite the small size of our air force as compared to our perceived threat.

JF-17 comes in medium high tech category equipped with state of the art avionics, ability to fire air to air missiles beyond visible range,state of the art radars, capability of air to air fueling, provision for stealth and other things which makes it a real useful weapon in our air inventory.

This achievement also shows the strength of Pakistan-China relationship and shows we can achieve more with this friendship.

Hopefully we will also achieve more in defence  technology especially air defence and will soon use our technical capabilities in defence for our civilian sector.

Darayonan Lodge

Darayonan is a Cuyonon word that means a place to stay. The lodge is situated in a residential part of Coron town, strategically located along the National Highway. The place is clean all the time! They see to it that the rooms and private comfort rooms get cleaned everyday during your stay. They also make sure that the entire lodge is spic and span all throughout the day. I have never seen any litter at all in my entire stay.

The facilities in this lodge pass the normal standards of travellers: hot and cold shower, all air-conditioned rooms, centralized water system. It’s like you never left home at all. I’ve had a comfortable stay at this lodge.

It’s also probably the only lodge that includes breakfast for two along with the daily room charge. And what’s more, drinking water and coffee is unlimited, no extra charge. I should say that staying at Darayonan is really a value for your money.

New Delhi (Mizzima) – Ethnic Chin leaders across the world are meeting this week at Aizawl, capital of India’s North-eastern State of Mizoram, to discuss the future of the political course of the Chin, even as the ruling junta in Burma gears up for the 2010 general elections.

Ral Hnin, a spokesperson of the Chin National Council (CNC), a group with political parties, armed group, students, intellectuals and civil organizations, said they are gathering for the 2nd Chin National Assembly (CNA) where the future political course of the Chin will be discussed.

The Chin National Assembly, whose delegates are coming from as far as Germany, United States of America, Canada and other countries, will be held at a location along the Indo-Burmese border on November 18 to 20.

“I think the main issue of discussion at the Assembly will be the 2010 elections,” Ral Hnin said.

However, Ral Hnin said the 2nd Chin Assembly is open only to members of the CNC and its advisors. One of the CNC’s advisors attending the Assembly includes Harn Yanghwe, a Shan ethnic and son of Burma’s first President Sao Shwe Taik and the current director of Euro-Burma Office (EBO) in Brussels. The invitation of only members of the CNC and their advisors has led to a rift among the Chin. Several activists are saying they do not accept the Assembly as legitimate and cannot allow it to determine their political fate.

The CNC was formed in 2006, during the first Chin National Assembly held at ‘Mount Sinai’ in India’s North-eastern State of Manipur. The CNC’s core groups include the Chin National Front (CNF), Chin National League for Democracy (CNLD), Mara Peoples Party (MPP) and Zomi National Congress (ZNC).

While the CNLD, MPP and ZNC, were political parties that have contested the 1990 elections and have elected Members of Parliament (MP), the CNF was formed as an armed resistant group by Chin students and youths, following the junta’s brutal crackdown on the student-led uprising in 1988.

Although Ral Hnin said, during the Assembly, the CNC would seek to expand the structure of the organization to accommodate civil society groups, and students and youths, as its core members, Kee Le Awm, Chairman of the Cho Ethnic Council (CEC), a group formed among the Cho tribes of Chin, said, he disagrees with the CNC’s current policy as it fails to have equal representations of all tribes under the umbrella ‘Chin’.

Residing in Chin state of North-western Burma, bordered by India’s North-eastern states and Bangladesh, the Chin ethnic community includes over 50 diverse tribes, sub-tribes and clans. This has often led to conflicts among the various tribes.

“Though they named their group Chin National Council, it does not represent all Chin tribes. The CNC should have equal representation and it should be a tribe-base organization,” said Kee Lee Awm.

Since its inception in the first Chin National Assembly in 2006, the CNC has been confronted with opposition. Organizations like the Student and Youth, disagreed on the formulation of the CNC and refused to sign the Assembly resolution.

Van Tu, President of New Delhi-based Matu Youth Organization (MYO), an organization formed with Youths of the Matu tribe of Chin, told Mizzima on Tuesday that his group had been ignored and was not invited for the 2nd Chin Assembly that is to begin on Wednesday.

He said he sensed that the MYO had been deliberately left out as they refused to sign the 1st Assembly resolution that agrees to form the CNC.

“We did not sign the agreement at the first Assembly because we did not find it equally represented the various tribes of the Chin,” said Van Tu.

He also urged the CNC to amend its policy in order to include all tribes among the Chin saying, “Currently, there is no proper representation for tribes such as the Matu, Cho and Khumi in the CNC.”

Ral Hnin, the spokesperson for the CNC, said the CNC is an evolution of the Chin movement, based on the April 2004 ‘Victoria Agreement’ signed by over 95 representatives during the ‘Seminar on Chin Consensus Building’ held at Camp Victoria along the Indo-Burmese border.

The pact established four objectives – to collaborate in the fight against military government, to work together to regain freedom and self-determination, to participate in building a federal union in Burma, to work for unity and political, economic, and social development of the Chin people.

“In my personal view, I don’t think it is possible to have equal representation during the revolutionary movement. But we will formulate a good policy on which we will be working together,” Ral Hnin said.

The CNC is a member of the exiled-based Ethnic National Council (ENC), an umbrella group representing the seven ethnic nationalities of Burma – Arakan, Chin, Kachin, Karen, Karenni, Shan and Mon.

Mounting economic crisis is driving out people in Chin state, western Burma by the day, but refugees abroad continue to be windows of survival for Chin people.

Statistics show that there are many Chin people in Mizoram state, India from Chin state, western Burma.

Recently Mr. Hram Uk and his family fled to Mizoram in order to take refuge in New Delhi, India from Mang Kheng village, Falam township in Chin state.

Mr. Hram Uk said, “Usually the Burmese junta authorities call us to work for them and they collect some donation every month. We cannot afford it as we are very poor. We cannot send our children to school. Sometimes, patrolling military personnel demand our domestic animals. So we had to sell our properties and flee to India.”

He told Khonumthung News that there are many villagers, who wanted to go abroad. They are suffering from different kinds of problems in Burma, so they preferred to go to India as refugees.

Now most Chin people are suffering the effects of famine, which was brought by bamboo flowering in the state leading to multiplication of rats. Crops have been destroyed by rats, flies and bugs since late 2006.

Although some Chin people, who are abroad support them, they cannot cover all the villagers in the state. Therefore, they are doing whatever jobs they get to eke out a living. On the other hand, the military junta oppresses them making myriad demands.

A survey report states the population of Chin state was about 5 lakhs in the last two years, but now it has decreased to about 4 lakhs. Some NGOs’ statistics also show that there are about 2,000 Chin people in New Delhi, about 13,000 in Malaysia, United States and other European countries.

I started painting again.

It is a huge milemarker in my life journey. I wondered around for a bit, got distracted by all the pretty lights, chased a few squirels and butterfiles, but always there existed a constant pull on my heart…likeable to that of a magnet. Had there been an audible voice, it surely would have been saying, “Come back to your true path, Sarah. You’ve seen what there is to see. Now it is time to walk on the dirt road.”

Naturally, I spent over a decade ignoring this. I have always been quite stubbourn at times as well as hard headed as my mother would say. If you are into astrology, which I am not very knowledgable about, my zodiac sign is a Taurus (May 11th). The bull. Perhaps, it plays a part but perhaps not…who will ever really know for certain. Either way, I have never really had issues with authority, save the normal rebellious hormones of adolescence, but in the same breath I will still do what I want to do even if they say do not.

In 1990, when I was 6 years old, my family and I were down in the Florida panhandle, Destin, for summer vacation. We would usually stay at the Islander, a high rise condominium building, and rent a condo for a week. On this particualr day, we had surely been out in the sand, on the beach, and amongst the salty sea waves, but at this time—in the late afternoon—my family had migrated to the Islander’s swimming pool. I was jumping off the edge of the pool backwards, meaning I would balance on my toes with my heels hanging over the water and jump upwards and away from the edge. I did this  few times before my ever-so- present mother yelled at me to cease and desist as I intentionally pretended not to hear her command.

I do not remember what she was wearing that day. I imagine she it was a wide brim floppy beach hat, with a floral patterned bow around the center, large mid-80’s gradual tinted shades, and a black and teal one-piece bathing suit. My mother is and has always been a total fox—features and a figure to die for. I would love to brag more, display stunning photos of her through the years, and quote her brilliant way with words, but alas she does not want to be “a character” so I will not be doing that…today anyways.

I ignored her plee to stop jumping backwards off the side of the pool because I wanted to jump just once more…with a twist! I quickly assumed the position, jumped up, twisted slightly to my left, and proceeding to land directly on the edge of the pool on my tiny chin.

The previously clear, blue, pool water quickly turned to a shade of pink as my blood mingled with it. I am sure there were a few screams.

We spent the rest of that day at the ER. I got umpteen stitches and left with a scar that is blatently visible even to this day. My mother chewed me six ways from Sunday, “You just had to do it just one more time!” She was so cross with me.

I began to obey better after this incident, as I told that once coaxable voice—that had coerced me to jump just one more time—to shut up. I realized my inmature inklings could not be trusted whilst I was still a child.

Now, at 25 years-old, I am no longer a child. My inklings have wised up and rippened over time, and regained my trust.

Chakra Balancing

The chakras can get imbalanced due to over excitement, pollution due to crackers, shopping crowd and for various other reasons. They need to work in balance. This can happen only if the unwanted stuff in them is cleared off. To do so:

Do Chin Mudra (touch the thumb with index finger on both hands) – the Mudra that is used traditionally in the meditation pose.

Though, you need not be in the meditation pose. You can do it while walking, talking or watching TV and may be while attending a meeting (the best time to calm down your nerves).

While doing the Chin Mudra, chant the mantras in the following mantra sequence repeatedly:  “Om Lum Namaha Om Vum Namaha Om Rum Namaha Om Yum Namaha Om Hum Namaha”

If you know Reiki, then give a full-body Reiki to yourself.

Instructions

Do the above for the next few days to avoid any illness in the near or distant future. Yes, due to contamination of chakras or energy field, we could fall sick any time in the future.

A number of Chin people have died due to lack of medical treatment and medicines during severe famine in Paletwa Township, southern Chin State in Burma.

In Sami village tract, if a local villager falls ill he has to journey over two days to the nearest clinic for a checkup as there is only one clinic in Sami area in Paletwa Township.

A clinic staff said, “We have five staff members in the clinic but no medicines for patients. Twelve people died as a result from February to September 2009.”

It is learnt that among the 12 persons seven were women, three men and two children. They were afflicted by common diseases but there was lack of medicines in the clinic.

Some patients can afford to have medicines in Paletwa town while some cannot reach it given the long distance from their respective places.

Khounmthung News complied the list of the dead in Sami village, Paletwa Township in Chin state during the months of February to September 2009. They are Mr. Rengzong (53), Mrs. Bawivaw(57), Mrs. Mahni(37), Zingte (2week), Zinglian (1month), Mrs. Thuiueh(58), and Mrs. Roisoi(40) of Shwe Pi Kung village; Mrs. Nemte(50) of Kingkangkung village; Mrs. Hoihli(53) and Mr. Thungkring (28) of Zongkung village; Mrs. Thawnghoi(51) of Lamoi village and Mr. Pine (30) of Ringrong village.

“We had a Hepatitis patient in our village and we went for a checkup to the clinic but there were no medicines for treatment. We turned back home and he died on 4 October. We reached there in time but there were no medicines at all in the clinic,” a local of SwePiKung village told Khonumthung News.

These days it’s about about creating a voice no one’s heard, finding a space that hasn’t been filled yet, just by the nature of where I come from the shit’s gonna bang different.. I hail from TORONTO the land of amalgamation to the CITY OF VANCOUVER the land of the organic and Free:):)

So far all the joints I’ve done this past year that have gotten recognition all have their own stories and none of them stem from a preconceived place.
For instance KINDA LIKE A BIG DEAL for the Clipse feat. KANYE came from watching Apocalypse Now, to listening to THE METERS and B.T. EXPRESS. When Khalil and I made that joint our goal was to push ourselves and to cover ground we hadn’t. If you listen to it that song it has an intro and a middle section as well as dynamic elements in the way that PETE ROCK might or J DILLA might.
It’s the same thing with DRAKE’S FEAR I respect this brother so much for taking that joint because it wasn’t meant for a rapper but brilliantly he makes it work and knocks it outta the park!!
That song was inspired musically by DAVID SYLVIAN guitarist from a group called JAPAN some DILLA, THOMAS DOLBY and a little OUTKAST and he made it work!!!!!!
So when I was talking about the mind set earlier this is what I meant all great MC’s use language as their instrument and when I’m in production mode I like to think of the guitar, bass, drums, synths etc as a universal language….

So I read on Twitter that Kanye is going to India to go on a spiritual retreat…
What’s he retreating from, all the bad press? The bad record sales? Or the cancelled tour??!!
It’s pretty funny how we seemed to turn to God only when we have nowhere else to turn or when we’ve backed ourselves into a corner and no one else can get us out!!!!
I mean this is the artist that wrote a song called JESUS WALKED!!! So someone tell me why isn’t he walking with Jesus?!?! You would think a black man who grew up in Chicago and with the gospel would know better!!
Now I’m not saying I know KANYE WEST nor am I saying that this is a judgement call it’s only an observation.. I’m kinda late on the whole TAYLOR SWIFT MTV thing. In fact I don’t really care I don’t even care what the president said. I think all that shit is pure entertainment it wouldn’t be an award show if KANYE didn’t act like a fool and we didn’t have opinions about it.
The reason I’m writing this is because there is a SPIRITUAL WAR going on and we’re takin it way too lightly… It is a battle between good and evil there are forces at work that are distorting our values and clouding the issue of what’s acceptable and what isn’t!!! It seems like anything goes these days!! I’m not trying to sound all Christian I’m just trying to use my common sense and make the right choices.
The right choice should have been to sit his ass down humble himself and let the poor girl have her moment… But I guess he couldn’t help himself.
Again I don’t know the dude although I did meet him this summer when DJ KHALIL and I went to BROOKLYN to appear in the THE CLIPSE video for KINDA LIKE A BIG DEAL FEATURING KANYE, which we produced (shameless plug). He seemed like an ok guy but again I don’t know him.
If he really wants to retreat and find God he can do right here at home!! He don’t have to go to India. If you want God or to be right with yourself be brave look inside yourself and walk with Jesus, go where he went to the STREETS!!!! Go to the poor, the hungry, the shelterless, the addicts, the prostitutes, the tax collectors, humble yourself and know how lucky you are and show compassion. That’s where GOD lives that’s where spirituality lies.. Not in some posh YOGA retreat where other rich people go to vacation or “find themselves”

The creative process is a funny thing. Sometimes you labour over the words until it feels right, for some it could take weeks. A melody is a funny thing it just appears out of thin air and if you don’t catch it in time you may lose it to the elements…
Then there is the GIFT…. what is the gift you ask??? Well it’s that magic moment when every thing just connects. When the lyric and melody come hand in Hand within moments of each other.
Today I experienced that. Not only 1 song but 2 in a matter of minutes within half hour they were both written performed and recorded.
Some of the greatest song were written in this fashion. Legend has it that the song YOUR THE INSPIRATION was written in minutes on a small piece of paper while the writer was on a ski vacation with his family. The story I heard was that he promised his wife he wouldn’t work on vacation, but then got a call from the studio and when the wife was away he wrote the whole thing in a car, later the song became one of the group’s biggest hits…..
Music is an incredible thing. I wonder how many songs were written this way by THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES etc there is no rhyme or reason but I believe if we go into it with the right attitude the song will find you…..

mi-e frig… atat de frig.. si e un frig atat de taios incat si oasele mi se crapa in imbratisarile tale la fel de reci, ca si pielea noastra, sabotata parca de infumurarea atat de trista a vantului asta…, intre noi, si intre oameni, intre noi.. si frigul din noi…

stai… stai… sa iti prind mainile in vartejul asta de chin si de purtari sinistre… tu.. tu… esti.. un bulgare de foc si de apa.. si e ciudat…pentru ca intamplarile nu isi urmeaza cursul firesc.. iar eu nu sunt apa si tu foc, si nici eu foc si tu apa.. dar e bine.. undeva, in fasiile noastre de impreunare.. tu.. ei bine tu, imi acoperi mereu calmul si mai apoi imi ranesti cumva disperarea… rosul meu aprins nu iti acopera tie tacerea, iar eu nu ma mai zvarcolesc in durere ca pana acum. stii… sangerez.. si e de la frig.. nu vezi? imi cad obrajii, cum cad vulturii din cer in mare si mor.. si mi-s mainile moi, ca lutul mucegait smucindu-se dintre degetele olarilor, prea obositi si prea lihniti ca sa mai uneasca din contururile planelor molatece, le lasa sa cada si punct.

sa stii ca mi-e somn. mi-e somn de la frig. s-ar putea sa-mi fie somn de la sange, dar cum inca nu am nevoie sa respir poate ca ar fi bine, sa nu mai caut motive, ci sa incep sa-ti comunic in mod direct:

“te iubesc desi la fel ca si obrajii mei, si ai tai sunt la fel de palizi….”

The United Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) and the National United Party (NUP) are at loggerheads over the forthcoming 2010 general election campaign since August in Falam town, Chin state western Burma.

“USDA has stopped their members who wanted to resign and join our National United Party. They are campaiging among people not to be a member of NUP,” a member of Falam township NUP said.

In fact, they are forcing youths of 16 years to join their party. All members have the right to resign from the party, he added.

He said “There is no way to resign for the members of the United Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) as they prohibited it except for government employees who are transferred to other locations.”

Regarding this, Mr. Dothawng, who had won the 1990 general election in zone 1 of Kalemyo from the National League of Democracy said “The USDA wants to control state power and they will do the same thing in the forthcoming general election as they did in the referendum.”

The USDA was established in 1993 by the military government and it is being used as a useful tool by the regi
