Depuis trente ans, cette association mène entre autre une campagne contre les partisans du port de la fourrure de tous poils. Dans le monde des pipoles, qu’elles soient pour ou contre, les stars affirment leur position et n&#8217;hésite pas à poser nus. Extraits.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>La morte del popolare giocatore dell&#8217;Hannover, che ha lasciato una lettera di commiato nella quale si scusa con la moglie e con il medico curante per avere nascosto il suo stato nelle ultime settimane ha provocato commosse reazioni in Germania e all&#8217;estero, soprattutto in Spagna (ieri sera il Barcellona, uno dei suoi ex club, è sceso in campo in Coppa del Re con il lutto al braccio), Portogallo e Turchia, paesi in cui Enke ha giocato.</p>
<p>Enke, che ha indossato otto volte la maglia della nazionale e domenica scorsa era tornato in porta per l&#8217;Hannover 96 dopo un&#8217;assenza di alcune settimane attribuita ufficialmente a un virus intestinale, era in cura dal 2003 quando giocava per il Barcellona.</p>
<p>La moglie ha raccontato che anche negli ultimi tempi aveva evitato di rendere pubblica la sua malattia, per timore di danneggiare la sua carriera ma anche che gli togliessero la figlia adottiva Leila, di otto mesi.</p>

Yesterday I rode the <a href="http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/" target="_blank">Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge</a> in Joburg along with 26 000 other cyclists making it one of the biggest races in the world. On the way I met these heroes, volunteers who <a href="http://www.choc.org.za/default.asp?iID=KKMFF" target="_blank">are raising money for CHOC, Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa</a>. The videos were taken with my cell phone as I rode alongside them.</p>
<p>I was impressed by their commitment, their level of organisation, their numbers, over 100 volunteers who rode in cow suits or CHOC gear, as well as the number of sponsors involved. The ice-cream carts, pulled by two cyclists with tubes in front and pushed by another two from the back, were often overtaking other riders so they regularly had to shout &#8220;Keep left!&#8221; as can be seen in this video:</p>

<p>The combination of the cow suits, the ice-cream bikes, the bells and their sheer numbers ensured that the Cows&#8217; presence was felt throughout the day. Spectators chucked bank notes into the ice-cream carts along the route but the serious fundraising is on-going on <a href="http://www.thetrust.org.za/Charity.aspx?id=61">this website</a></p>
<p>As I was entering the inner-city of Joburg I spotted the first ice-cream caravan. Rob Riccardi who was doing the hard work on the one-gear ice-cream bike was one of the people who started the initiative last year. One of his friends had lost a child to cancer so he and some buddies decided to raise funds for CHOC.</p>
<p>They overshot their target which was to build a CHOC house near the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital so their next goal was to furnish the house and buy a bus. The CHOC Houses across South Africa are homes to children receiving daily treatment from the major hospitals so it becomes their home away from home.</p>
<p>Many of these kids come from poor rural families and often their parents can barely afford to get their children to hospital. The bus will make it easier for them to visit their children as they are suffering the terrible side-effects of chemo-therapy.</p>
<p>Being involved in fundraising for non-profit organisations myself, I was really inspired by these people. I was struck by three timeless principles I witnessed in action yesterday:</p>
<p>1) The power of a personal experience and a story to propel people into action for a cause.</p>
<p>2) The power of networking and relationships to achieve bigger goals than you can reach on your own. I rode with the herd for quite a while and whenever they stopped at watering points it was clear that there were lots of friendships and a true sense of camaraderie.</p>

<p>3) There was space for anybody to contribute, from spectators to supporters at watering points, to cyclists. Most of the volunteers were average or below-average cyclists. But there were also some Super Cows, top cyclists who first raced hard and then did the 97 km route all over again. Andre from Centurion (picture below) was the first Super Cow, pulling an ice-cream bike wearing a cow suit after he finished in an impressive 2 hrs 22 min. <a href="http://www.ewn.co.za/articleprog.aspx?id=26376" target="_blank">The winning time was 2 hrs 14 min</a>.</p>

<h3 style="text-align:center;">1/Histoire de la pâte</h3>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Les grains de blé ont été enrobés d’un fongicide avant semis. Pendant sa culture, le blé a reçu de 2 à 6 traitements de pesticides selon les années, un traitement aux hormones pour raccourcir les tiges afin d’éviter la verse et une dose importante d’engrais : 240kg d’azote, 100 kg de phosphore et 100 kg de potassium à l’hectare. Dans le silo, après récolte les grains sont fumigés au tetrachlorure de carbone et au bisulfide  de carbone puis arrosés au chlopyriphosmethyl. Pour la mouture, la farine reçoit du chlorure de nitrosyl, puis de l’acide ascorbique, de la farine de fève, du gluten et de l’amylase.</p>

<h3 style="text-align:center;">2/ Histoire de la crème</h3>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Ils proviennent d’un élevage industriel où les poules sont nourries aux granulés contenant des antioxydants (E300 à E311), des arômes, des émulsifiants comme l’alginate de calcium, des conservateurs comme la capsanthéine, des agents liants comme lelignosulfate et enfin des appétants pour qu’elles puissent avaler tout ça comme le glutamate de sodium. Elles reçoivent en plus des antibiotiques et en particulier des anticoccidiens.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Les œufs avant séchage reçoivent en plus des émulsifiants, des agents actifs de surface comme l’acide cholique et une enzyme pour retirer le sucre du blanc.</p>
<h3><img title="001" src="http://meyrolian.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/001.gif" alt="001" width="20" height="20" />Le lait :</h3>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Il provient d’un élevage industriel où les vaches reçoivent une alimentation riche en produits chimiques : des antibiotiques comme le flavophospholipol (E712) ou le monensinsodium (E717), des antioxydants comme l’ascorbate de sodium (E301), l’alpha-tocophérol de synthèse (E307), le buthyl-hydrox-toluène (E321), ou l’ethoxyquine (E324), des émulsifiants comme l’alginate de propyléne-glycol (E405) ou le polyéthyléne glycol (E496, des conservateurs comme l’acide acétique, l’acide tartrique (E334), l’acide propionique (E280) et ses dérivés (E281 à E284), des composés azotés chimiques comme l’urée (E801) ou le diurédo-isobutane (E803),des agents liants comme le stéarate de soduim, des colorants comme E131</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">ou E142 et enfin des appétants pour que les vaches puissent manger tout cela comme le glutamate de sodium.</p>
<h3><img title="001" src="http://meyrolian.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/001.gif" alt="001" width="20" height="20" />Les huiles :</h3>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Elles ont été extraites par des solvants comme l’acétone puis raffinées par action de l’acide sulfurique, puis lavage à chaud, neutralisées à la lessive de soude, décolorées au bioxyde de chlore ou au bichromate de potassium et déodorisées à 160° C avec du cholure de zinc. Enfin, elles ont été recolorées à la curcumine.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Une fois obtenue, elle reçoit des arômes et des stabilisants comme l’acide alginique (E400).</p>

<h3 style="text-align:center;">3/ Histoire des cerises</h3>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Les cerisiers ont reçu pendant la saison entre dix et quarante traitements de pesticides selon les années.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Les cerises sont décolorées à l’anhydride sulfureux et recolorées de façon uniforme à l’acide carminique ou à l’érythrosine. Elles sont plongées dans une saumure contenant du sulfate d’aluminium et à la sortie elles reçoivent un conservateur comme le sorbate de potassium (E202).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Elles sont enfin enduites d’un sucre qui provient de betteraves qui, comme les blés, ont reçu leur dose d’engrais et de pesticides. Le sucre extrait par défécation à la chaux et à l’anhydride sulfureux puis décoloré au sulfoxylate de sodium, puis raffiné au norite et à l’alcool isopropylique. Il est enfin azuré au bleu anthraquinonique.</p>

<p>Attaquée en février dernier par le chimpanzé domestique de sa meilleure amie, <strong>Charla Nash</strong>, 55 ans, a décidé de dévoiler lors d&#8217;une interview avec Oprah Winfrey (who else?) les bouts de chair gonflée qui lui servent de visage. Si on peut encore appeler ça un visage: le nez, la mâchoire et les mains ont été arrachées par <strong>Travis</strong> (singe fou d&#8217;environ 100kg), et les chirurgiens ont été obligés de retirer les yeux de Charla pour la maintenir en vie. Sauf qu&#8217;ils ont oublié de la prévenir, et qu&#8217;elle pensait retrouver la vue à force de volonté et de courage&#8230;</p>
<p>La folie meurtrière de ce barbare simiesque de 14 ans a été stoppée par les balles de la police le jour de l&#8217;agression, les coups de couteau de boucher donnés par sa maîtresse n&#8217;ayant eu aucun effet. Et franchement, je pense qu&#8217;il aurait été plus humain d&#8217;achever Charla aussi, parce que je ne vois pas ce qui pourrait encore lui donner envie de vivre dans cet état.</p>

<p>Chocoholism (yes, it is a term!) can be addictive! This Cake is really rich and soft. You can even use it to make into a Black Forest Cake.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ingredients:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>All purpose flour (or Maida) &#8211; 250 gms</li>
<li>Castor Sugar (or regular sugar, powdered) &#8211; 250 gms</li>
<li>Cooking Butter &#8211; 250 gms</li>
<li>Unsweetened Cocoa powder &#8211; 50 gms</li>
<li>Eggs &#8211; 4 nos</li>
<li>Baking Soda &#8211; 1 tsp</li>
<li>Baking Powder &#8211; 1/2 tsp</li>
<li>Salt &#8211; 1/2 tsp</li>
<li>Vanilla essence &#8211; 1 tsp</li>
<li>Milk &#8211; as required (to adjust the consistency)</li>
<li>Walnuts (optional) &#8211; 50-100 gms (finely chopped)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Serves:</span></strong> Makes roughly about 40-50 pieces.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Method:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Pre-heat the oven to 200 deg C (390 deg F).</li>
<li>Line the base of a square microwaveable cake dish (8&#8243;x8&#8243;) with butter paper, or grease the base with butter and dust with maida or sugar till well coated and keep the dish aside.</li>
<li>Beat the eggs until fluffy (for about 15 minutes) and keep aside.</li>
<li>Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Do this thrice and keep aside.</li>
<li>Cream the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.</li>
<li>Add the beaten eggs to the butter-sugar mixture and beat well till it has blended in.</li>
<li>Now, add the sifted flour mixture to the butter-sugar-egg mixture little by little and beat well till blended smoothly.</li>
<li>Add milk as required for the dropping consistency. (Dropping consistency is the consistency required of the cake mix where the mixture isn&#8217;t soft enough to fall easily off the spoon but slides off reluctantly after a few seconds).</li>
<li>Add the chopped walnuts, mix well.</li>
<li>Pour batter into the greased cake dish and lightly pat the dish on the floor to even out the cake mixture inside the dish.</li>
<li>Bake at 200 deg C for 35-40 minutes or till done. Allow to stand for 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Poke a toothpick in the sides and centre. It should come out clean.</li>
<li>Cool completely on a wire rack and turn upside down on a wide dish to decorate.</li>
<li>You could even just pour some chocolate sauce on it and dig in!</li>

<p>Chocolate made with cocoa butter, sugar, milk, emulsifier, vanilla and sometimes other flavorings. It does not contain any non-fat ingredients from the cacao bean and has therefore an off-white color. In some countries white chocolate cannot be called &#8216;chocolate&#8217; because of the low content of cocoa solids. It has a mild and pleasant flavor and can be used to make Chocolate Mousse, Panna Cotta and other desserts.<br />
<strong><br />
Milk chocolate</strong></p>
<p>Sweet chocolate which normally contains 10-20% cocoa solids (which includes cocoa and cocoa butter) and more than 12% milk solids. It is seldom used for baking, except for cookies.</p>
<p><strong>Dark chocolate</strong></p>
<p>Sweetened chocolate with high content of cocoa solids and no or very little milk, it may contain up to 12% milk solids. Dark chocolate can either be sweet, semi-sweet, bittersweet or unsweetened. If a recipe specifies &#8216;dark chocolate&#8217; you should first try semi-sweet dark chocolate.<br />
<strong><br />
Sweet dark chocolate</strong></p>
<p>Similar to semi-sweet chocolate, it is not always possible to distinguish between the flavor of sweet and semi-sweet chocolate. If a recipe asks for sweet dark chocolate you may also use semi-sweet chocolate. Contains often 35-45% cocoa solids.<br />
<strong>Semi-sweet chocolate</strong></p>
<p>This is the classic dark baking chocolate which can be purchased in most grocery stores. It is frequently used for cakes, cookies and brownies. Can be used instead of sweet dark chocolate. It has a good, sweet flavor. Contains often 40-62% cocoa solids.</p>
<p><strong>Bittersweet chocolate</strong></p>
<p>A dark sweetened chocolate which must contain at least 35% cocoa solids. Good quality bittersweet chocolate usually contains 60% to 85% cocoa solids depending on brand. If the content of cocoa solids is high the content of sugar is low, giving a rich, intense and more or less bitter chocolate flavor. Bittersweet chocolate is often used for baking/cooking. If a recipe specifies bittersweet chocolate do not substitute with semi-sweet or sweet chocolate. Please ensure that you buy the correct type! European types of bittersweet chocolate usually contains very large amounts of cocoa solids, and some of them have quite bitter taste.</p>
<p><strong>Unsweetened chocolate</strong></p>
<p>A bitter chocolate which is only used for baking. The flavor is not good, so it is not suitable for eating. Use it only if a recipe specifies &#8216;unsweetened chocolate&#8217;. It contains almost 100% cocoa solids, about half of it might be fat (cocoa butter).</p>

<p>Pour les habitués <a href="http://allainjulesblog.blogspot.com/">d&#8217;Allain Jules </a><strong><a href="http://allainjulesblog.blogspot.com/">Communication</a></strong><strong> qui savent que je suis un libre penseur, un vrai, pas un zozo comme ce fameux LLP (Le Libre Penseur) qui fait peur à tout le monde, de Dailymotion en passant par les médias dominants et institutionalisés ou plutôt médias-menteurs, je suis courroucé.</strong></p>

<div style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Vous l&#8217;aurez compris, c&#8217;est une boutade. Comme beaucoup, j&#8217;aime l&#8217;écouter, le suivre dans ses vidéos à succès. Quand j&#8217;ai appris qu&#8217;il venait sur Paris ce <span style="color:#ff0000;">10 octobre</span> qui plus est un samedi, je me suis dit qu&#8217;il était temps de le voir, de visu, de l&#8217;écouter en live et de pouvoir discuter avec lui.</strong></div>

<p>Il y a toujours un moment dans l&#8217;année où deux personnalités hollywoodiennes meurent dans un court de laps de temps entre les deux et deux personnalités québécoises meurent qui font la même chose. Pour Hollywood, il y a eu en juin dernier la mort de Farrah Fawcett et d&#8217;un certain MJ (<em>quoique la mort de Swayze aussi a fessé fort il y a peu de temps</em>). Ici, en deux jours coup sur coup, c&#8217;est le décès tragique par suicide de Nelly Arcan et là, ce matin, le choc encore: <a href="http://www.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/societe/2009/09/26/001-Falardeau.shtml" target="_blank">Pierre Falardeau n&#8217;est plus</a>.</p>
<p>Bon, je l&#8217;avoue je n&#8217;étais pas le plus grand fan du cinéaste. J&#8217;ai toujours trouvé imbuvable la série des Elvis Gratton et certaines des déclarations incendiaires et à l&#8217;emporte-pièce du réalisateur ont nui au mouvement souverainiste en décourageant les souverainistes mous, ceux qui branlaient dans le manche et qui se sont, pour beaucoup, tournés vers l&#8217;ADQ. Mais, il faut reconnaître que ses documentaires de l&#8217;époque étaient très forts, son film sur 1789 et sur la crise d&#8217;octobre ont été des intéressants reflets de notre nationalisme et il avait le mérite de, à défaut de rallier les Québécois, de galvaniser les tranches souverainistes convaincues et d&#8217;avoir défendu sa cause jusqu&#8217;au bout.</p>
<p>Malheureusement, ce foutu cancer lui aura ôté la chance qu&#8217;il voit de son vivant la souveraineté du Québec (<em>quoique soyons honnêtes et pessimistes: pour l&#8217;instant, pas comme si c&#8217;était à l&#8217;horizon&#8230; ou ça l&#8217;est, mais c&#8217;est loin l&#8217;horizon</em>). Évidemment, ils ne le diront pas, mais les fédéralistes rigolent de sa mort par en dedans. C&#8217;est, bien que tordu, de bonne guerre. Après tout, n&#8217;avons-nous pas tellement joui intérieurement lors de la mort de PET ?</p>
<p>Alors, M. Falardeau, où que vous êtes, on vous souhaite de pouvoir vous reposer de cette lutte ardente et de  savoir quand on l&#8217;aura notre pays. <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  En espérant que la réponse ne soit pas : jamais.</p>
<p>Par contre, je sais que vous m&#8217;en voudriez. Pas pour mes réserves face à vous, mais plutôt le fait que &#8220;j&#8217;ai plogué l&#8217;article annonçant ma mort en pigeant sur le site de Radio-Cadenas câlisse&#8221; ! J&#8217;aurais bien aimé le piger sur Le Devoir, mais le site ne parle pas de votre décès pour l&#8217;instant et quant à Vigile.net, il plogue l&#8217;article de Cyberpresse (<em>sic</em>).</p>
<p>Alors je me suis qu&#8217;entre Radio-Cadenas et Power Corporation, vous préféreriez le premier.</p>
