Double Secret Bonus: Movember Update. This guy is “for the win”, or how about “FTW”?

Tay is on fire with “You You You”. We are seeing more and more of side “H” for hot! This masterpiece of near musical perfection is like a gift so near the holidays. The song starts in signature Tay Zonday style then transitions to a faster, deeper, sometimes echoing musing on love, want, desire, and longing. Barry White is gone but if Tay wished he could have overwhelmed us with a firestorm of guttural growls. Instead, he purposely emits a warm steady fire that slowly touches without burning.

The background for the video set the right tone for it’s fast pace. Hearing the song first you expect a scene similar to “Cherry Chocolate Rain”. Instead, we are left with imagery harkening to an outdoor concert. Not closed off at all but visuals full of freedom and expression.

Sadly we don’t do that anymore, we don’t just sit there listening to our favorite track while enjoying a nice cup of tea, we don’t read books anymore and we spend more time talking on messenger then in real life. Just because we can?

We always love to take the easy way directly or around things because faster means better. Speed of light? Easier isn’t always better it’s just … easier. We’d rather pay to pass an exam then waste some time to study, but in the end where is that satisfaction? That feeling, that “yes, I fucking did it”. Well sadly there isn’t anything like that, there is just a fake sensation of feeling better.

But don’t worry there are a lot of fake things flying here … there … everywhere. In our daily life, in our daily routine, in our souls and hearts … at the TV and on the Internet, because trying to be someone you aren’t isn’t that hard when we believe everything we see/read/hear/step on/drink … and so on.

Having that much information on our hands keeps us away from thinking. We don’t think anymore we just reproduce/recreate what we ‘think’ is better. It’s easier to search the Internet to see if someone had/has your problem and I’m talking about any kind of problem. Sexual / School / Work and so on, but let’s face it everyone is anyone on Internet. Cause as I said before fake things are everywhere.

There are times when I don’t believe me and as much as I hate lies (self?) I (same as everyone else) lie. A lie here and one there won’t hurt right? Maybe the truth hurts or maybe it doesn’t but who cares about it now? All we care is that the lie that we told everyone is plausible.

We don’t take any approach on things, we just ignore them and hope that they will just fucking screw off. Or at least that’s what I mostly do. Because fuck me time doesn’t fix crap, we forget about shit but we never forget the one that did it right? I can live with this I can live with that, but … fuck you!

It’s like teaching a baby how to walk, but not letting him practice it. I still can’t understand parents who don’t let their kids experiment life, because we don’t give a shit about someone else’s mistake until we do the same mistake. It’s like “So what If he failed I will tr … boom you get hit by the fucking train”.

Experiment with different “you’s” until you find the one that’s really you, this may take a while … it may even take all your fucking life but, hey, at least having a goal isn’t that stupid is it? How the fuck do you expect anyone to understand and have some fucking compassion when not even you can understand yourself? It’s like trying to learn how to drive from a book, or trying to feel the taste of the food without eating it.

Life can’t be “studied” because, screw me … in the end is just you and 2 buttons and your brain. Yes and No, this is what life is about … making good choices lead to good things and making bad choices lead to bad things … that’s Karma. But hey it’s the twenty first century, who gives a crap about that. Well, that’s why we are so fucked up, that’s why people die or end up in shit holes, because we stopped to give a crap.

Why the fuck shall we give a crap about the Global Warming or about the people dying in the poor countries. Because that’s what we should give a crap about? Meh, I know all I say now is just a bunch of crappy crap that came out of my mind. And I know there may be some mistakes but damn I’m to lazy to read this all over again.

So em, have fun Cause it won’t be like this for long!

Tay Zonday has just released “Baby I’m Not” right on the heels of “Roll Your Dice”. In “Baby I’m Not” Tay has made great use of not only his musical skills but also that great voice. I like his videos best when it’s just Tay and his keyboard. I must say that this song has it all.  He’s singing about the universal language in a very classy way. Fantastic! Tay’s song/video, “Roll Your Dice” is out after a long wait. For straight up Tay Zonday fans, this song is like water to a thirsty person. Some may not agree with the very distinctive use of auto tune or with the skit format to tell the story but Tay has always done a version of that  in his videos just not as prominent. For today’s visual medium some diversity and new faces are necessary. It also shows the strength of the collaborative effort.

The song’s opening has a beat that commands your body to keep moving if it wants to keep pace with the story being told. The narrative takes place in the entertainment mecca of Los Angeles. It is the ritual of dreamers who leave it all behind and move to LA.

After many closed doors and money getting tight, one may have to do things to survive.

It is very comforting knowing that Max has zero writers. It’s like the old saying “If a joke is told and no one is around to hear it, is it funny?” The answer is: Max isn’t funny.

Fatina doll making workshop at 100% Design

Cute DIY Dinosaur

I came across a doll making workshop whilst at 100% design which proved to be very popular.  The company behind the dolls are called Chocolate Rain.  They produce a number of individual products but the focus was on the DIY Fatina doll packs where you could make your own doll and take it home.

As well as the dolls you could also make a panda or dinosaur – the cute dinosaur I made is pictured above.

As already posted (and featured) in another WordPress Blog on the “Hawt Post” list… 100 Greatest Hits of YouTube! Kudos for featuring Norweigen art school student, Lasse Gjertsen, though it egregiously fails to identify other YouTube celebs like Ask a Ninja, Leslie Hall, photo progression trend parodies, and that Chocolate Rain guy among others.

Turn it into a drinking game… take a swig any time someone in the video gets hurt!

To kick things off here on OMG!AB!, here is an introduction to the Internet for n00bs and nostalgics. I don’t expect anybody to go through this list in one sitting. Frankly, I recommend against that. Speaking from experience, stuff like this is great to break out  when you’re with friends and there’s nothing to do. When you hear about viral sensations, you’re conditioned to think that a trip to the doctor is order. But fear not. I thought I’d continue the social network, social media, new media, day with a look at some of the funniest and most viewed videos on Youtube. Inspired by this piece from Mashable. (Big day for them on ACO. Maybe its because I read so much of their content over the weekend that my head hurts.) In no particular order.

Oh, you went there. You so went there, didn’t you? Of all time? Sheesh. That’s a loaded, pressure-filled question. I know how much Loafers likes Top 5 Lists, so I’ll have to make this a Top 5 list of my own. Picking one is so hard. I’ve definitely got to lay down some ground rules for how to approach this.

What makes a great youtube video?

1. “Official” videos are inferior. If you take a gander at the most-watched videos on youtube, the majority of them are movie trailers or music videos. None of those are eligible. Neither will clips from TV shows, stand-up routines, etc. If youtube (or something similar) isn’t the primary intended viewing platform for the video, it doesn’t warrant consideration. So, even though 100,000,000 people have watched Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” video on youtube, I do not consider it a youtube video. Tay Zonday, on the other hand, would certainly be eligible.

2. The harder it makes me laugh, the better. When you recommend a youtube video to someone, 99.9999% of the time you wrap up the recommendation by saying, “It’s hilarious.”

3. Unintentionality rules. I think it makes for a superior youtube video when the subject most likely had no intention for the whole world to see it. This doesn’t mean that the creator of the video had to be unaware that it would be finding its way to the internets…

4. Someone getting hurt…doesn’t hurt at all. We all love videos of someone getting smashed in the face…

…or jacked up by an exercise ball…

…or failing at flips…

…or kicked in the head…

…or receiving a basketball to the head so perfectly…

That video barely missed the top 5 by the way.

5. The News is your friend. Whether it’s being auto-tuned…

…or just providing a nice Freudian slip…

News shows (especially local) provide great fodder for youtube videos.

6. The wild fire effect. Since the question pertains to the “best” youtube video ever, and not simply my “favorite”, I’ll try to apply objectivity in this manner: A “good” youtube video ought to truly be an internet sensation. As soon as it gets a little spark, it’s everywhere.

Okay. I think that about covers it. I’ll start releasing the top 5 list shortly, but first, an honorable mention…

I still to this day can’t decide if this video is real or not. And that was how I justified separating it from the other 5 videos. Readers, enjoy Leeroy Jenkins…

What the FUCK is this piece of shit? 38 millions hits? Are we so desperate for entertainment that 38 million people will sit watching this garbage? It doesn’t even make fucking sence! Chocolate Rain? As a musician I find it a personal INSULT to everything I believe it.

A FizTV vai encerrar suas atividades, antes que a Salt Cover sonhasse em entrar nela. Você, que não tem problemas cardíacos nem de pressão – ou principalmente, se você não for o Théo Becker, continue a ler este post, onde falamos sobre os rumos da Televisão Salt Cover. Acho que a GM e a British Airways andam com rumos melhores…

Vocês podem pensar que estive na Bahia, porquê o layout deste blog coloca os títulos só com letras minúsculas. Mas não passei de Macaé (Rio de Janeiro) ao norte, nas minhas andanças pelo Brasil – e em uma época em que a cidade não era tão desenvolvida quanto é hoje, por obra e graça dos donos desse blog aqui.

O negócio é que o canal FizTV vai encerrar suas atividades, assim como o canal Ideal, ambos do grupo Abril-Naspers-V*acom. Apesar desse detalhe, pensava no FizTV como plataforma alternativa para Televisão Salt Cover – nem pensava na exibição desses vídeos na TV a cabo, era só pelo site, mesmo.
Já o era para alguns projetos semelhantes, como a série Sapo Brothers. Parecia ser um porto seguro para vídeos como os que eu fazia - afinal de contas, eu não violei porcaria de d*reito a*toral nenhum citando a frase I’ll be back, o pessoal da Sôny Pinturas é que não tinha nada pra fazer pra ficar assistindo 6 minutos de um vídeo cujo idioma eles não entendem e que o título sequer remetia ao Exterminador do Futuro – Enfim, vídeos como esses e como os de outros realizadores independentes, como tanta gente por aí.

Pensava na FizTV, mas só pensava, porquê não havia simplesmente tempo e condições de fazer esses vídeos. E recentemente havia decidido que, caso algum dia eu conseguisse fazer alguma coisa, esses seriam disponibilizados em plataformas semelhantes às que eu já havia escolhido para os meus podcasts, isto é, sites hospedadores de arquivos em geral. E que jamais se atreveriam a atacar produções originais (pretendo inclusive que a trilha sonora desses futuros vídeos seja 100% feita por mim – e é produção original, senão os Cassetas já estariam na cadeia desde quando eles só faziam revistas!).
Isso se Deus ainda não me fizer chover na horta e me fazer conseguir migrar para uma WebTV já existente, como a AllTV, CentralTV, ou mesmo a graça suprema, criar um site só pra mim, como é o caso da TV Tosco, de Chibraca & Pebo, e da TV Kajuru.
Mas, por enquanto, continuo pensando… e tal qual Kajuru, às vezes sonho em ser promovido pro andar de cima.

Como sabreis el steet fighter sale a la luz en el año 1991, y se convertirira en una de las recreativas con mas exito de la historia que cambiaría por completo el panorama de los juegos de lucha.

Cuatro años antes sacaron ‘Street Fighter’, como es lógico (no le iban a poner un dos a la secuela sin motivo…). Pues bien, aquel juego de lucha pasó un tanto desapercibido en su día a pesar de ser la primera recreativa en la historia en ofrecer seis botones para los golpes y el uso de semi-círculos para los especiales. Unos especiales que en su día resultaban casi imposibles de hacer y que hoy día tenemos todos memorizados.

La pregunta es: ¿qué habría pasado si, en vez de salir el ‘SFII’ en 1991 lo hubiese hecho 10 años antes? Pues que nos encontraríamos en un juego para la Atari 2600, por ejemplo. Pixelacos exagerados, con un control más limitado debido a la insuficiencia de botones, y más tosco.

Por suerte, no hay que imaginárselo, ya que Dylan Hayes ha creado su particular versión sobre cómo sería el citado videojuego por aquel entonces:
